RPG Status Report January 2000 USS Sacramento Krandar III Gate Investigation Team Five Officers start running towards the opening in the Borg cordon, firing their weapons. But the Borg already have addapted and the weapons fire does not have any result. But the Borg move slowly and the much faster officers under encouragement of LT CMDR Steichen pass the Borg and make it towards the gateway. Without any hesitation the five officers jump through the gate and land on the other side on a totally different planet. There are no Borg here and the attack of the Federation vessel has stopped. Steichen orders Engineer Ensign Vandenberg to change the destination of the gateway so the Borg cannot follow them or in any way the Borg could come accross. It is done. The image in the gateway displays another destination. Ensign Vandenberg has chosen Krandar III as destination to be sure there wouldn't be more surprises. At the other side the USS Sacramento silently waits for the officers to return. But at this time all five officers start having problems with their muscles. They can't move and feel sick. The gateway is so close, they all se the Sacramento at the other side, but they cannot make it. Ensign Yak is the first to fall down, followed by Chief Sukura and Ensign Vandenberg. There is nothing they could do. LT CMDR Steichen sees LT Lopez fall down and realises she will be next. When she falls, she doesn't feel a thing. Light blue light is surrounding the young Steichen, but the feeling of sickness is gone. Actually she feels wonderfull. Suddenly Steichen hears voices. One of them demands that she has to wake up, but another voice says she can stay as long as she wants. LT CMDR Steichen resists and tries to wake up again. USS Giorko The Baltons are really thankful to the Giorko crew that the Giorko will keep the Borg busy while the Balton ship herself can escape to home. Time is now getting short. The USS Giorko moves herself between the Borg and the Balton ship. At the same time as the Baltons start their propulsion systems the Giorko attacks the Borg ship. Captain Donton gives her orders firm, but calm. They only have to gain time for the Baltons. "Evasive manoeuvre Delta 4. What is our shield status Mister Yell ?" "Shields are down to 71 percent. The Borg are trying to lock on with a tractor beam. They failed. Shields have dropped to 62 percent." "LT Ginu. How much more time do the Baltons need ?" "One minute should do it Captain." While the USS Giorko is engaged with the Borg ship, the Baltons engage their drive. After two attempts the system is activated. The Balton ship jumps to transwarp and is safe. But the Giorko is not. "Captain, a message from Head Quarters. Help is on it's way." "How long until they get here Lieutenant." "Three days Captain." It is clear that the Giorko is on her own now. After the next Borg attack the ship shakes violently and throws almost the entire bridge crew on the floor. For just a moment there is complete silence. Commander Van Nieuwenhove gets up first and when he finds Captain Donton it is to late. The Captain has fallen in combat. "Report." Commander Van Nieuwenhove doesn't waste any time. He knows all of them can mourn for the Captain later. Now decisions have to be made. Shields are down to 17 percent. Weapons are off line and life support is failing on several decks. There are two severe hull breaches, but forcefields have been successfully activated. Things look bad for the Giorko. The only comfort the Giorko crew has, is that the Balton ship is safe. Commander Geert orders to initiate evasive maneuvres and get the away as fast as possible. USS Thunderbolt When in contact with the Baltons, the crew of the Thunderbolt learns that it is possible to slow down the Borg drones. There is a process to undo assimilation, but only the Baltons have the necessary devices. The Baltons could not be assimilated by the Borg and therefore the Borg decided to terminate the Baltons. If there is no other alternative the Baltons advice the Thunderbolt crew to destory the ship which the Borg plan to assimilate. This does help Captain Mechels and his crew. And Captain Mechels orders to open fire on the Balton ship. Only a few torpedos do the job and the Balton ship is destroyed. After filing the report to Head Quarters, the Thunderbolt continues the patrol mission which was originally assigned to that ship. The Thunderbolt crew knows that all Cordions are far away from their position and the alien Baltons turned out to be very friendly indeed. Most of the Baltons are already on their way home in the Delta Quadrant. It promisses to become just one of those regular missions, with dull reports and a lot of fun for the crew. But after already a few hours some systems begin to fail. Environment control seems to be the first system which gives the engineers a lot of trouble. Next the Thunderbolt drops to sub light speed and last but not least the entire deflector system goes off line forcing the Thunderbolt to come to a full stop. It is clear that something strange is going on on the Thunderbolt. USS Baltimore All communications with other ships, make it clear that the Borg are trying to invade Federation space through a gateway on Baldhom. The USS Miramar has attacked the Borg with the help of a Balton ship and with success. The Borg are driven away. Both ships have sent down an away team to investigate the gateway and the Borg activity. There are no Borg present on Baldhom, but to their surprise the away teams find fellow officers, who came through the gateway and changed the connection, so the Borg could not come through or threaten the Federation. The Blue Cordions free their friends from Baldhom at this time. All Blue Cordions are rejoined in happiness and they offer assistance to the Federation. The President and his advisors only have a few whishes. The Blue Cordions should destroy all these gateways as they are a danger to the Federation and make it clear to the Red and Yellow Cordions that they are only welcome if they are peaceful. The Blue Cordions will take the necessary actions to see that the Federation whishes are fulfilled. To thank LT Hendriks for her courage and help to set the trapped Blue Cordions free, she is offered to join the Blue Cordions. This will take a physical transformation which cannot be reversed. But the wonders and the extraordinary exsistance of the Blue Cordions is also very tempting. USS Vertigo Day 15, 17.02 Chief Engineer Commander Tony Camero busts into the holodeck accompanied by LT Jack London, LT Matz and two security officers Day 15, 17.08 The children Sandra and Max are brought to sickbay, while Chief Engineer Camero investigates the malfunction of the holodeck Day 15, 18.16 All Vertigo systems are off line again. Only auxiliary power is working. The ship seems to be controled from within the holodeck USS Miramar Marine General Fujimori gives Major Crow the authority whatever is needed to investigate the presence of the Borg on the planet Baldhom Reinforcements are on their way and the USS Baltimore is expected to arrive within the hour. The Baltons offer their assistance as well and assemble a small away team to accompany the Marines on the Baldhom surface. As soon as the Miramar doesn't detect any Borg on Baldhom Major Crow and 2LT Bell transport to the surface. Two officers of the Balton's ship arrive only seconds later. It is still clear that Baldhom contains a deadly life form, but now it is the first time the away teams know that the Blue Cordions are trapped on this planet and are not wilfully harming the visitors. The Baltimore is on her way with other Blue Cordions to liberate their trapped and deadly friends. Suddenly 2LT Bell calls out that he has detected human life signs. These life signs are very weak and it seems that the away team has to hurry to save these humans. Guided by the scanner 2LT Bell finds five fellow officers, close by to a structure, which could be the same kind of gateway found on Krandar III some time ago. Just when Major Crow wants to take action, a Blue Cordion wave flies over the planet's surface, setting all the trapped Blue Cordions free. The USS Baltimore has arived. With all the Blue Cordions free it is still necessary to help the fellow officers. Their medical condition is getting worse by the second. The Baltons and the Blue Cordions offer their help. It is clear that the officers you have found need help soon. MAJ Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 66655S01: I would ask the Blue Cordions to go into the body's of the five officers, because so the officers have a greater chance of survival. Once we get them to our ship and into sickbay, they are save. We can begin to speak about what is happening to the Blue Cordions. Also we will are staying in orbit till we can be sure that the Borg will not return and we will investigate the gateway on the planet's surface. I will ask the USS Baltimore to help in the investigation of the gateway. But first things first. The officers and the Blue Cordions...We will see what they have to say. I am very curious. USS Silverado One by one do the Bantols come over on the USS Silverado, keeping them under surveillance Captain Cordain begins to trust the Bantols. First Officer Harrison does not trust them at all, and orders Chief of Security to keep an eye on them. The Bantols seem to understand the situation, but they do their very best to help repair the Silverado. Only half a day's work and most of the Silverado's systems are fully operational and the hull is as good as new. The Bantols really did a good job in helping the Silverado crew, although tension is sometimes high. It is certainly not a vacation and even sometimes the Bantol engineers have heavy arguments with the Silverado crew members. It is probably only a question of trust. Although the other Bantol ships have established a great relation with the Federation, the relations between the Bantols and the Silverado crew becomes worse. Some start to think that it is also Captain Cordain's fault as she doesn't have enough experience she cannot make the right decisions. After two days work the Silverado is as good as new and the Silverado crew wants to finnish the repairs themselves. Mostly because the tension with the Bantols has come to a point of no return. Just when Ensign Walker is preparing to transport the first Bantols back to their own ship, red alert is initiated. Eight Bantols have to stay aboard. Lieutenant July Grover, Chief of Operations, has been brutally murdered. When doctor Williams examines her body he can only come to one conclusion. Lieutenant Glover has been killed with a Bantol ritiual sword. Captain Cordain has no choice but assign the investigation to Security Chief Ensign Walker and although the Bantols offer all the help they can, the eight Bantols cannot be released. It is most likely that one of them has killed Lieutenant Grover. "Captain, with your approval, I would like to investigate the murder. This with the assistance of two Bantol officers. I like to keep the eight Bantols for questioning and monitor their behaior, while the questioning of each Bantol seperate." "All right mister Walker. Make it so." RPG Status Report February 2000 USS Sacramento Krandar III Gate Investigation Team First things first. Fellow officers have to be saved and through an officer on the USS Baltimore, called LT Hendriks, the Blue Cordions enter the bodies of the officers. It seems they were just in time and the officers are saved. In sickbay of the USS Baltimore they can get to rest. The USS Sacramento is retrieved by the USS Texas. The Blue Cordions are thankful for their freedom and they promise to get the Red and Yellow Cordions out of the Galaxy. They will take care of the gateways as well. The gateways will be destroyed immediately as they are to dangerous for the Federation. First the Red and Yellow Cordions invaded the Federation and the Borg soon followed. Command can only agree with the Blue Cordions and let them destroy the gateways. While the team of LT CMDR Steichen is getting back on their feet on the USS Baltimore, she is commended by Command. Her action and that of her away team is really appreciated by command. Due to the loss of ships and good officers during the last war, LT CMDR Steichen is offered her own ship and a promotion to Captain. The USS Earth will be the new home of the just promoted Captain Christine Steichen. USS Giorko Commander Van Nieuwenhove has already proved his abilities to the USS Giorko crew and the senior staff and the crew don't hesitate to follow him whatever he decides. Ensign Oscar Newman, at the helm, engages the evasive maneuvres, but things are still looking bad. The Borg are gaining on the Giorko and shields have colapsed. The Giorko cannot take more. The entire crew realises that this could be their final mission. The first Borg drones invade the Giorko and after a few of them are killed, the others have addapted to the weapons of the Giorko officers. Commander Van Nieuvenhove knows what to do. He orders everyone to the escape pods and together with Chief of Security LT Yell and Chief of Operations Ginu he initiates the selfdestruct sequence. Suddenly there are blue lights everywhere, around the Borg ship, around the USS Giorko. The Borg aboard the Giorko are transported back to the Borg ship and the Borg ship itself is send back to the Delta Quadrant by the Blue Cordions, who have come to the rescue of the Giorko. Incoming Message From Command From: Admiral John Giosondo To: Commander Geert Van Nieuwenhove Commander Geert Van Nieuwenhove. You have again proved to be an excellent officer. I would have liked that the circomstances were happier, but this time there is no other officer more suitable to take over the USS Giorko. I hereby promote you to the rank of Captain. The USS Giorko is your's now. Admiral Giosondo End Message USS Thunderbolt Chief Engineer LT Brussels can only report that he will fix the problems as soon as he can, but the more he fixes, the more problems arise. After some time the Thunderbolt engineers are convinced that there is a problem with the main computer of the ship. When they shut down the main computer to restart it completely, things are going better for about 20 minutes. Then all kinds of systems begin to fail again. Only one hour later Chief of Security LT Tomar patrols the ship. The lightly paranoid LT Tomar is convinced that there is a saboteur aboard the Thunderbolt. The patrol takes LT Tomar to the shuttledeck where a brand new Type 10 shuttle stands ready for launch. The shuttle has not been used since the departure of the Thunderbolt. Suddenly LT Tomar hears heavy footsteps coming from behind. As the officer turns around, it is clear who the saboteur is. But although LT Tomar has lots of yaers of experience, the officer stands frozen for a few seconds. Then Tomar starts running for the shuttlebay exit. "Tomar to bridge. We have aaaaaaaarrrrgggggggh." Internal sensors tracking LT Tomar reveal the worst. Not only did the Thunderbolt crew lose the Chief of Security, but things look really bad when Chief of Operations LT Leeloo Brussels reports there are at least three Borg aboard. USS Baltimore First things first. LT Hendriks receives permission from Command to join the Blue Cordions and she accepts the offer. USS Vertigo Day 15, 23.42 Chief Engineer Commander Tony Camero has found out how the running holoprogram has taken over the USS Vertigo Day 16, 00.31 After a long talk with the children Sandra and Max, Ensign Matz discoveres that the children have started a holoprogram in which the crew of the Vertigo is copied and is runing the ship. Day 16, 08.14 During the entire night the Vertigo crew have a software battle against their alter-egos in the holodeck, but the holodeck alter-egos don't give up easily. USS Miramar First things first. After a successfull mission of the marine team who prevented a Borg invasion and setting free the Blue Cordions and rescuing fellow officers, General Fujimori is extremely happy. The marine team of Major Crow is awarded with the Eagle award and a promotion in rank. LT COL Crow MCAPT Hawk 1LT Bell 1LT Bell Congratulations. With reference like this the marine team can have any job in the fleet. End of message LT COL Crow decides to expand his team and receives command of his own ship. LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 4879K0: For my first mission all went well. I now have a choice and my own ship is what every marine dreams about. I have received several job offers, but I will stay with my team. Also several people wanted to come and work under my command. I have selected a Vulcan officer, 2LT Burak and a very special robot who I have recovered, named Atad. I wait my orders from the General. A few days of R&R will do us good. USS Silverado The entire crew of the USS Silverado is talking about nothing else but the murder on the LT July Grover. Everyone seems to think a Bantol has done this act. The eight Bantols are not alowed to leave the ship and the Bantol commanding officer has come aboard to be a witness to the investigation conducted by Silverado Chief of Security Tom Walker. During the interrogation all eight Bantols say they don't have anything to do with the murder and the more questions Ensign Walker invents, the more it seems to be as if the Bantols indeed have nothing to do with the murder. The six Bantols who had an alibi are set free and send back to the Bantol ship. The two remaining Bantols do not have an alibi, but their stories seem to match up with the internal sensor logs which were monitoring the Bantols all of the time. They were not even near LT Grover when she was killed. The only DNA traces which were found in the room LT Glover were from Captain Cordain. Ensign Walker has no choice but ask the Captain Cordain here activities around the time LT Grover was murdered. "Ensign Walker. I am the Captain of this ship. It is very normal I talk with other officers and certainly the Chief of Operations. Of course there were traces of my DNA. I expect your final report within the hour. You are dismissed." Ensign Walker has no choice. He leaves the Captain and tries to get more information. Doctor Williams, Chief Medical Officer can only confirm that the only person who was with LT Grover when she was murdered could be Captain Cordain. But that doesn't prove she has killed LT Grover. The two Bantols who are in the brig, are also suspects. Due to the possibility that the Captain is involved in the murder on LT July Grover, Chief of Security Ensign Tom Walker decides to report only to First Officer Jeffrey Harrison. From Ensign Tom Walker to First Officer Jeffrey Harrison: Sir, I checked and rechecked with the assistance of the doctor. I found DNA traces of the Captain on the Bantol ritual sword. Then I checked a Bantol DNA on a power conduit that was handed by one of the engineers and found their DNA isn't so much different from ours. Sir, if they want to frame someone for murder, this is the way to do so. Commander, I don't think the Captain is the murderer. The murderer changed the DNA structure to that of the Captain. I can't prove that this is what happened, but I state my carreer on it. End of report RPG Status Report March 2000 USS Earth The USS Earth under command of Captain Christine Steichen has only just left spacedock with almost an entire new crew when the first orders are coming in. Although the ship has had a major upgrade, it will still need two days to reach the new destination. Outpost 146 has detected some kind of rift in space. Most of the officers aboard the USS Earth are graduates from the academy, only the senopr staff has more than a few years experience. First Officer CMDR T'Lok has been serving in the fleet for 64 years in almost all departments. After two days the USS Earth arrives at the designated coordinates. The first sensor readings don't show a lot and as the USS Earth moves closer, more data is coming in. A probe is send to the rift, but it is sucked into the rift and no data is received by the probe. It is necessary for the USS Earth to move closer to the rift if any usefull data has to be gathered. Commander T'Lok has already calculated that the USS Earth is now at a safe distance. Going closer could result in being sucked into the rift. It is only logical to stay at this distance to gather as much data as possible, without getting the ship and the 1113 people aboard in danger. But not all the officers aboard the USS Earth feel the same way as T'Lok. Chief Engineer LT CMDR Sora Mil, is convinced that the ship's engines can take the ship out of the gravity of the rift even when the ship is half the distance away from the rift. The data which has already been received is rather vague and cannot be used to determine what kind of rift this is so Captain Steichen takes her ship closer to the rift to gather more information. USS Giorko The crew of the USS Giorko has come together for the ceremony for the fallen officers during the battle with the Borg ship. Especially the Captain of the USS Giorko will be missed. But life goes on and after the ceremony it is time for the new Captain Geert Van Nieuwenhove to chose his new First Officer. From Head Quarters, he has received a few files of fine officers who are candidate to be his XO: File 1: LT CMDR Jose Cambrera Current position: Chief of Operations USS Merimack Score: Tactical: 8/10, Operations 9/10, Engineering 8/10, Pilot Level 6 File 2: LT CMDR Jack London Current position: Tactical advisor USS Vertigo Score: Tactical 10/10, Operations, 7/10, Engineering 7/10, Pilot Level 6 Captain Van Nieuwenhove has also a fine crew and great officers who are also capable to become the First Officer of the USS Giorko. Some of them are even more qualified than the two officers suggested by Starfleet Command. The repairs of the USS Giorko have been finnished under leadership of Chief Engineer LT P'sok and Chief of Operations LT Latisum Ginu. They both did a great job and they are an example for the other officers. And life goes on. With new orders for a new mission the USS Giorko sets course to a M-class planet. Strangely enough the planet is not in an orbit around a star. The energy for the animal life and plant life is coming from the core of the planet. And the vulcanic activity even gives the planet some kind of orange glow. It is difficult to see on this planet, but it is not completely dark either. No intelligent life is detected by the USS Giorko sensors, but the strange stratosphere is interfering with the sensors. After a full day of scanning Chief of Operations LT Latisum Ginu reports a major discovery. "Captain. Our sensors have detected something that could be a structure of some kind. With this interference is not clear, but it is hopefull sir." But the Captain is not prepared to take any risks. After the new first officer, LT CMDR Jose Cambrera has reported in for duty, Cambrera agrees with Captain Van Nieuwenhove to scan the planet further and not send an away team. USS Thunderbolt Captain Mechels doesn't give in easily and orders a total defense of his ship against the Borg who have invaded the USS Thunderbolt. The crew will fight until the last man or until other Starfleet ships arive to help them. But things are looking seriously disasterous. In only a few hours the Borg control the entire ship except for deck 1. Only 17 crewmembers stand their ground. The others are killed or assimilated. Then suddenly the Borg seem to stop their advancement. It is clear they are up to something, but it is unknown to the Thunderbolt crew what is to be expected. Captain Mechels calls for a senior staff meeting to look for the last possible actions and options. Time is short and in a few minutes it is clear that the Thunderbolt crew only has a few options. Selfdesturct the ship with the risk some of them get killed as well or stand ground and wait for the next step of the Borg. It might be possible to get control over the entire ship and get the Borg of the ship, by decompressing and opening all decks which are occupied by the Borg with the risk some of the Borg will survive. It is doctor Ceuster who suggests to try to cut these Borg from the Collective so they will malfunction and act in total chaos. Captain Mechels agrees with Doctor Ceuster. It could work. Shuttle Explorer One of the Blue Cordion waves carries a small shuttle towards places where LT CMDR Hendriks or any one else in the fleet has been before. Although a promotion is fine, the upcoming adventure is much more important for LT CMDR Hendriks. Rank is no longer important. Exploration of the wonders of the universe is something only most officers can dream of. The number of choices are unlimited as the Blue Cordions are not subject to speed nor dimensions. Without realising LT CMDR Hendriks has already crossed half of the Federation space in a matter of hours. At this time the Blue Cordions ask Hendriks where she wants to go. Although this can only be the greatest experience ever, choices should be considered with much care. Another thing can be of influence. The Blue Cordions tell LT CMDR Hendriks some of her fellow officers are in trouble. If these officers cannot overcome these problems the trouble could spread out throughout the entire Federation. LT CMDR Hendriks knows whe has no option, but to save her fellow officers first. She changes course, followed by the Blue Cordion wave. USS Vertigo Day 16, 09.39 On the holodeck Commodore Slater is confronted with his holographic self. It takes a lot of convincing from one to another that one of them is a hologram. Day 16, 10.52 The holodeck program has been ended and peace returns to the USS Vertigo. Day 16, 12.03 Again the children Sandra and Max seem to have vanished. Day 16, 12.08 Commodore slater is getting tired of the behaviour of the children aboard his ship and orders Security to find them and lock them up. Ensign Matz will lead the search as she knows the children best. USS Miramar LT COL Crow and his team return to Starbase 149 to dock the USS Miramar. Crow and his team have a new ship now, the USS Lightning. 2LT Burak joins the crew of the Lightning and as soon as all diagnostics on robot Atad have been run, the Lightning is already leaving spacedock. Incoming message from General Fujimori: Security Code 145A45 LT COL Crow, You and your team will enter Romulan space to investigate the dissapearance of one of our ships, the USS Holland. Your ship does not have a cloaking device and the Romulan ships do and although the Romulans were our allies during the last war, it is not certain they will let you in, without asking questions. I don't have to tell you, this mission is dangerous and there is no way to tell what the Romulans will do when they find you, but all diplomatic channels have been tried without success. There is no shame for you or your team if you refuse this mission. You must let me know before you arrive at the Romulan border. End of message LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 99941H: I will accept this mission. If it is possible, HQ must send me the last known coordinates where the USS Holland was last situated. I will go into Romulan space awaiting the coordinates. USS Silverado It has become clear that the murder on LT Grover has influence on the relations between the Federation and the Bantols. The only remaining ship of the Bantols stays close to the USS Silverado and the two Bantol officers stay aboard the USS Silverado as they cannot be released during the investigation. Captain Cordain seems not to be interested in the investigation. First Officer Harrison has a lot of interest in the progress of the murder investigation, more than any one else on the ship. Ensign Walker has to report to him every two hours. But the evidence is coming in slowly, all alibies have to be checked and that takes time. Sometimes the discussion between Ensign Walker and LT CMDR Harrison take an hour. But during one of these little talks, doctor Williams, Chief Medical Officer of the Silverado reports something terrible has happened in the Captain's quarters. Harrison and Walker rush to the Captain's quarters and find the Captain on the floor, with the doctor bending over her. Captain Cordain is murdered with a Bantol ritual sword. With the two Bantols in the brig, this seems impossible. But there is no doubt. Again there are no traces of other DNA than the doctor's DNA. The Captain had asked the doctor to come to her quarters, but when there was no answer to the doctor's call at the door, he overided the security lock. It seems only logical as the doctor found the Captain's body when he entered her quarters his DNA traces are present in the room. The Internal sensors logs don't reveal anything. The Bantols have to be innocent as none of them could have access to the Captain's quarters. The two Bantols, are set free and return to their ship, which sets a course to the Bantol home planet. A few moments later the ship is gone. First Officer Harrison is now in command of the USS Silverado and orders Ensign Walker to continue his investigation. These murders seem to be the perfect murders. How can they be solved ? RPG Status Report April 2000 USS Earth The USS Earth moves closer to the rift to gather more information. A probe is send through the rift as well, but doesn't give the data which is needed to get an good idea of what this rift is. The rift is pulling the USS Earth in, but the engines can hold the ship in position, just like Chief Engineer Sora Mil has calculated. A message buoy is launched as point of reference. The rift seems to be a hole in space, but also in time. It is not yet clear to where the rift leads and this is no time to take unnecessary risks, but the USS Earth crew realises that this is an unique oportunity to study this anomaly. Even First Officer T'Lok finds the rift fascinating. Suddenly the rift begins to grow. Without apparent reason the opening is twice the size as it was a minute ago. Captain Steichen orders to get more distance, but it is to late. The USS Earth is pulled in. The journey through the rift seems very short and at the other side space looks exactly the same. But when Chief of Operations Harry Dankers reports that the rift has gone. Some of the bridge officers get a little nervous. Things get a worse when Dankers reports that he cannot tell where the USS Earth is. The only reference is an old survey of a deep space probe. This is another Galaxy. Captain Steichen decides to explore this region of space. She hopes the USS Earth finds a long lost ship... USS Giorko The USS Giorko is in orbit of an M-Class planet which has been given the name P-45. As the scanning of the planet continues more animal life is discovered, but there seems to be only one structure on the planet. It is not yet safe to send an away team to the surface but to get a better view a shuttle craft is launched with only one officer aboard: LT Carl Mo. Mo is an experienced pilot and will fly over the structure to get a better idea of what it is about. This planet is not in orbit of a star and is totally dark. The shuttle decents to the planet surface but does not land. The air is indeed breathable. Even the weather is nice. LT Mo starts his scanning and sends the results to the scientists of the USS Giorko, who do their best to make something out of the data. The conlusion of the scientists is that this is a very old building, probably some kind of power plant. It is strange though that there are no more structures on the entire planet. Just as Captain Van Nieuwenhove decides to call LT Mo back to the ship, something happens. "Captain, your signal is breaking up. Could you please repeat what you have just said." "LT Mo, return to the ship." "Captain. The shuttle is pulled to the surface. I cannot locate the source. If I don't put the shuttle down it will break apart. I will land close to the structure." A few moments later the shuttle craft lands aside of the structure. LT Mo can still contact the USS Giorko. "Giorko, this is Mo. I am on the ground, I am safe and the shuttle is in reasonable condition. I cannot take of. Maybe this effect is only temporary and maybe it will pass after some time. I will stay here in the shuttle. That seems to be safe." Captain Van Nieuwenhove orders to send a rescue team to get LT Mo back. USS Thunderbolt Captain Mechels lets the remaining Thunderbolt engineers set up some jamming devices, which should be able to disrupt the communications from the Borg aboard the Thunderbolt with the Collective. But the attempts fail. And it is getting worse. The Borg drones are now getting on deck 1 as well. It is clear to them that the officers aboard are a threat. Those officers have to retreat. For every corridor there is a fight. It is not easy as the Borg have addapted to the weapons of the defenders. Captain Mechels has only two options to stop the Borg. Using explosives to damage the ship and don't repair the hull breaches, so the Borg are blown into space, is one of the options. It doesn't work. The ship has been to far assimilated and has addapted as well. Things look very serious. Only half an hour later all 17 officers have retreated back on the Thunderbolt bridge to make a last stand. But the Captain orders them to the escape pods as he is planning to selfdestruct the ship. But the Borg have control over the computer and even the selfdestruct doesn't work. The officers take all kinds of materials to defend themselves and when the first Borg knocks on the bridge door, they look at each other to say a brief good-bye. They know this is it. Rather die, than being assimilated. They stand ready. The first two Borg drones step on the bridge but are pushed back. But more Borg are coming... Suddenly the USS Thunderbolt is surrounded by a blue glowing light and the officers hear a friendly voice. "This is LT CMDR Hendriks. The Blue Cordions are going to help to clear your ship of the Borg. The assimilated officers will be freed and can return to their regular lives. Stand by." The blue light is poured into the ship and ends all Borg activity. The complete crew is revived and can return to duty. It has only taken a few moments. LT CMDR Hendriks has no time to join the party, says good-bye and whishes the crew of the USS Thunderbolt all the best. Everyone is overjoyed of course, but repairs have to be executed and there is little time for celbration. A blue light in space is getting smaller and smaller and vanishes... Shuttle Explorer With incredible speed Shuttle Explorer travels to the USS Thunderbolt which has almost entirely been taken over by Borg. As soon as the Explorer is in range, LT CMDR Hendriks tries to contact the Thunderbolt, without success. The Blue Cordions inform her that the ship will be taken over by Borg and ask her whether they should assist and intervene. Hendriks accepts the help of course and the Blue Cordions move towards the Thunderbolt to take the Borg threat away. The Thuderbolt is free again and Captain Mechels can only thank LT CMDR Hendriks and the Blue Cordions. After a short moment of greetings and good luck whishes, Shuttle Explorer is back on it's way to explore unknown parts of space. USS Vertigo Day 16, 13.12 Ensign Matz and her team have found Sandra and Max in engineering where they were trying to sabotage some of the systems. Day 16, 13.16 Doctor Dorm Lever discovers that Sandra and Max have inplants of unknown origin. After removing the inplants the children wake up, not knowing where they are and what happened. Day 16, 14.00 Staff meeting. Commodore Slater will start an investigation of how Sandra and Max have been used as spy and saboteur. When the children came aboard they were in good health and that suggests that the spy is aboard the USS Vertigo. USS Lightning Crows team on the USS Lightning know what to do. They enter Romulan space, hoping that they will not be detected to soon and that they can travel to the coordinates given by General Fujimori. The USS Lightning is a fast, very maneuverable and powerful ship. LT COL Crow and his team are confident this mission will be a success. Besides, the Romulans are not exactly enemies any more. After the last war diplomatic relations have been rather good between the Federation and the Romulan Empire. But the Romulans are also known for their devious plans and spying is their middle name. Some of the high ranking officers in Starfleet believe the Romulans are using the good relation with the Federation to gain any kind of information. So far so good. And after almost a day in Romulan space the USS Lightning is still undetected. 1LT Bell is scanning for any anomalies in the region to detect cloaked ships, but there is still nothing to report. So without any problems the USS Lightning arrives at the coordinates of the last known position of the USS Holland. Traces of weapons fire are still clear and it is obvious the USS Holland had a fight. There is no wreckage or any other debris, which makes 2LT Burak say that it is logical to asume that the ship has moved or was captured by the Romulans. Just when LT COL Crow decides to rais shields, just in case, Atad alerts the crew of a Romulan warship, which decloaks at the starboard side. LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 94421H: Knowing that they were allies during the war, I will try to reason with them and explain to them why we are in their space. I alert Atad that he has to move quickly just in case. I will ask the Romulans whether they don't know anything about the USS Holland and I await their answer, holding my breath. USS Silverado The tension on the USS Silverado is high. After the Chief of Operations, the Captain is murdered as well and Ensign Walker, Chief of Security, has no clue of who did it and why. The only thing Walker can do is go over it again an again. Still reporting to LT CMDR Jeffrey Harrison, now Ensign Walker also has informed Head Quarters. On orders of Head Quarters Security the Silverado has to go to Starbase 41. The voyage to Starbase 41 will take at least five days and in five days a lot can happen. Luck is not on Ensign Walker's side. One day later some of the officers find Chief Benson, killed by a Bantol ritual knife. Chief Benson is found in cargo bay four behind some of the containers. No one has seen or heard anything. The only DNA traces which where found are from the officers who found Chief Benson. After this murder the crew is getting paranoid. There are some fights in the mess hall, and Security has to intervene several times. When LT CMDR Jeffrey Harrison finally restores the peace on the ship a day later, Ensign Walker finds something very interesting. Captain Linda Cordain, LT July Grover and Chief Benson served together on the USS Chicago. there is only one officer on the USS Silverado who also served on the USS Chicago with the murdered officers, Doctor LT Danny Williams. The doctor agrees to be bate, so the Silverado Security officers can catch the murderer. The murderer has to move fast as in a few days the Silverado will arrive at Starbase 41. The plan works for a part. While Security officers hide in Doctor Williams quarters while he is asleep, a person appeares out of nowhere. It seems this person uses some kind of personal cloaking device. But he has not seen the Security officers and they can stop the murderer, who runs away, cloaking himself again. A few minutes later an unauthorised shuttle launche is reported and a shuttle is leaving the Silverado. Ensign Walker is already on the case. "Sir we can put a tractor lock on, and beam the person aboard. The problem is that he still has a cloaking device. We have to find a way to uptain the cloaking device, or disable it. I will put a team together and go over doctor Williams quarters, there might be a chance to find some DNA traces of the murderer. We can contact the USS Chicago. We might get to know something that tie all of them together, besides serving together." RPG Status Report May 2000 USS Earth It takes some time before the crew of the USS Earth has found out their exact location. This galaxy is called G-17 and has been explored in the early 24th century by some deep space probes. The USS Earth is 300 thousand lightyears from home. For the moment the crew addapts to the new situation. The journey, exploring this part of the universe has begon. After a few days on course to the nearest habitable planet, the USS Earth is intercepted by a small vessel with only a crew of one person. It is remarkable that this person is humanoid man. He presents himself as Jok. Captain Christine Steichen remembers the name Jok, but she doesn't tell anyone about it. Jok tells the crew of the USS Earth that he had been working on a scientific experiment, but that the experiment was a failure. It is clear to the crew of the USS Earth, that Jok's experiment is the cause of their jump to Galaxy G-17. But before Captain Steichen can ask for any explanation, Jok and his ship jump to transwarp and are gone. There is no other option than continue the journey to the nearest planet and after another day at high speed the USS Earth is stationed in orbit of an unknown planet. The level of sofistication of the inhabitants is not as high. The warp drive still has to be invented on this planet. An away team, under cover learns that the only usefull things to get on this planet is food. After a few days in orbit Captain Steichen decides to leave and search for another planet. It is clear that they have to find Jok and his whereabouts. Just when the USS Earth is ready to leave this system, another ship drops to impulse. The USS Earth is hailed. "This is General Giourk of the battleship Notorious. You will leave this region immediately or you will be destoyed. This is our planet where we get our slaves. Get your slaves somewhere else. This is your only warning." That is all. It is clear that these slave drivers don't take no for an answer. Scanning the bandit's ship reveales that it is going to be difficult to win a fight, but Captain Steichen and her crew will help the people on the planet and defend them against the agressors. USS Giorko A new shuttle is launched to rescue LT Mo from his position. As regular transport is not possible, a shuttle is the only way to get LT MO back to the ship. At this time more data are available about the planet below. A planet without a star is indeed an exception, but the scientists aboard the USS Giorko believe that there was a star once, but there are no traces that there has been a star in the past. It is clear that LT Mo's shuttle is damaged by the emergency landing itself and the damage is not caused by the planet itself. A second shuttle under command of first officer Jose Cambrera also has a scientist aboard, LT T'Nak. The shuttle executes a standard landing on the surface next to LT Mo's shuttle. "Captain this is Cambrera. We have landed safely and we can take of without any problem. LT Mo is in good health." "Excellent Number One. Return to the ship." "Captain, with you permission sir, LT T'Nak has examined the structure for some time now. He believes this structure is related to 14th century Indian architecture. We can enter the structure to gather more data." Captain Van Nieuwenhove knows enough about these old kind of structures. He realises that there could be booby-traps all over the place. But now his officers have tricorders and technology which wasn't known to the old Earth cultures of that time period. But considering what there is to learn, Captain Ven Nieuwenhove lets his officers, Mo, Cambrera and T'Nak go into the structure. USS Thunderbolt The USS Thunderbolt has no other choice than to return to Starbase 16 for repairs. While the crew helps with the repairs of the ship, Captain Mechels is ordered to report in Admiral Truman's office. When the Captain enters the Admiral congratulates him with his actions against the Borg. Without Captain Mechels efforts, the Borg would have infaded Federation territory again. "Well done indeed Captain Mechels. Please relay my compliments to your crew. But as you can understand, I didn't only call you here for that. I called you for the following. On this station there is a Romulan ambassador. He has to go back to Romulus, but he can only be brought there by a Federation ship. I cannot reveal information about this mission, but the only thing you have to do is bring the ambassador back to Romulus. He is in danger. As this is a dangerous mission which should not be underestimated, I cannot order you to do this. So I am asking whether you want to do this mission or not." Captain Mechels doesn't hesitate and makes his decision immediately. He and his crew will bring Romulan Ambassador Ramok to Romulus. Shuttle Explorer There are so many wonderous things in the universe that LT CMDR Marja Hendriks has to make a choice. Although the Blue Cordions are very powerful, the Starfleet Officer who accompagnies them, cannot do everything at once. Saving the universe from all evil is tempting, but seems not possible, so LT CMDR Marja Hendriks will start with exploring and reporting her findings to her superiors. USS Vertigo Day 16, 15.00 Internal sensors have not revealed an intruder on the ship. Chief of Security, Commander Lok and several security teams start a search of the ship, to look for any clues. Day 16, 23.06 Chief of Security, Commander Lok reports to Commodore Slater the search has been comlpeted. No traces of any intruder or possible saboteur are found. Day 17, 02.15 Ensign Matz wakes up in sickbay. She heard noises. The two security officers who were guarding Sandra and Max are on the floor. Max is asleep on his bed, but a person is lifting Sandra of her bed. Ensign Matz doesn't hesitate and fires her weapon. USS Lightning The Romulans are very friendly and give LT COL Crow and his team all the data about the missing USS Holland. It is not much, but it helps. Apparently the Romulans let the USS Holland pass their borders into their space without any trouble. At least that is what the Romulans say. 2LT Burak cannot detect any illogical deception, but 1LT Bell doesn't trust the Romulans, even after they have been allies during the war with the Dominion. The Romulans have given the coordinates of where the USS Holland has been seen in Romulan space. These coordinates are totally different than the coordinates given to the crew of the USS Lightning so LT COL Crow now has a dilemma. The ship can only go one way. LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 31115P: Knowing the Romulans are devious, I have to take a chance and trust them. But we'll take every precaution when we go to the coordinates, given by the Romulans. I will send a message to Head Quarters, wait and see whether the USS Holland is at the coordinates. If not, we will be rather lonely in Romulan Space. USS Silverado There are no DNA traces in Doctor Williams quarters, except for the DNA traces coming from the security team, which was guarding the doctor. All investigations end up in a dead end. In the mean time the shuttle is brought back into the USS Silverado shuttlebay, with a tractor beam. When more than a dozen security officers enter the shuttle, they find nothing. Suddenly some of the security officers are thrown on the floor. The others realise that this must be the work of the cloaked murderer and fire all around them, hoping to hit the cloaked person. Against this random firing not even a mouse can escape and the murderer is hit, his cloaking device malfunctions and he is suddenly visable. He is a Klingon. Just at the moment the security officers try to grab the man, a transporter beam transports the Klingon of the ship. Security Chief, Ensign Walker is to late. He has just missed the killer, but LT CMDR Harrison is not going to let this happen. He realises there has to be a cloaked Klingon ship nearby and as soon as it is reported that the Klingon is beamed of the ship, he gives his orders. "Fire at will multiple spread of torpedos. Let's hit them hard." LT CMDR Harrison was right. A Klingon Bird of Prey appears out of nowhere as soon as it is hit by a USS Silverado torpedo. Now these Klingons are going nowhere. Just at this moment Ensign Walker enters the bridge and assumes his position at the tactical station. "Mister Walker. We have to take at least some of these Klingons alive. Any Suggestions?" "Yes sir I have. We could inform them that they are in Federation Space, and that we are in our rights to question their actions. But then again, they might make an excuse and be on their way. Since they have taken the Klingon on board, they know of the murders. They are not going anywhere. Any chance we can get a transport lock on some of the Klingons and transport them directly to the brig. We will hold them in the transporter beam, scan for weapon signatures and disable the weapons." RPG Status Report June 2000 USS Earth And so the battle begins... LT CMDR Ulo Hung, tactical expert on the USS Earth shows why he earned his position. With a few tactical maneuvers he is able to fire and take out one of the slave driver's shield generators. But General Giourk, in command of the Galleon is a fast learner and he hits back hard. Retaliation seems to be his middle name and if the poundering continues, Captain Steichen's ship is going to be in trouble soon. Damage reports are coming in and the first light casualties are in sickbay, treated by doctor Numbo and his staff. Just when Captain Steichen wants to start the saucer seperation procedure, damage to the USS Earth's shields is getting dramatic. The situation on the ship of General Giourk is a little bit better, but losing face for that slave driver is the worst that can happen to him, so the Galleon continues the fight. On the USS Earth the plan of seperating the saucer is rejected and Captain Steichen orders LT CMDR Ulo Hung to make calculations for a Picard maneuver. Shields are at 16 percent when the USS Earth maneuvers into the correct position. But General Giourk doesn't want to play along. While the USS Earth gets hit again fire is returned. But the damage is done. Targetting scanners are off line and weapons are out. With shields at a minimum this looks like the end for the USS earth and her crew. Suddenly LT Dankers, Chief of Operations, shouts: "Captain ! General Giourk's ship the Galleon, is being hailed..." "Explain Lieutenant." "It is not from us Captain. It is somebody else. It's audio only." "Let's here it." "naDev tlhlnganpu' tu' lu' ... bIjeghbe'chugh vaj bIHegh." The universal translator seems also to be off line, but the USS Earth First Officer Commander T'Lok translates perfectly: "There are Klingons around here ... Surrender or die." "Captain ! A ship is decloaking on top of us. It is a Klingon Vor'Cha class Attack Cruiser. The Klingons are firing their main forward disruptor at the Galleon. This is the end of General Giourk. Captain, we better get out of here. General Giourk and his ship are going to blow." LT Dankers is right. Captain Steichen realises that her ship has to move out of range of the upcoming explosion. The USS Earth moves with all the speed she has left. The Klingons follow the Federation ship and watch the explosion with loud cheering. Only ten minutes later Captain Steichen is talking with Klingon General Koloth in command of the IKS Amar and Captain Christine Steichen asks the help of the Klingons to search for Jok. USS Giorko First Officer Jose Cambrera leads LT T'Nak and LT Mo's into the old structure. Guided by their tricorders they make themselves a way to the first corridor. "USS Giorko, this is Cambrera. all is well. You should see this. It is incredible. All those old artifacts. Their must be a ..." LT Yell reports to Captain Van Nieuwenhove that communications with the away team are terminated. Lt Ginu, who is in charge of Giorko Operations, reports that there has been an explosion within the structure. For the next few minutes everything on the Giorko bridge is quiet. Everyone is staring at the captain. It seems like hours. Just when Captain Geert Van Nieuwenhove has to make a decision. "USS Giorko. This is the away team. We are all right. Nobody got hurt. We took our precautions. Everything is OK. Sorry I kept you waiting. We will continue through this corridor. At the end there is a large room of some kind." "Very well number one. Proceed, but stay alert. We don't want any more surprises." "Understood Captain." The away team continues and enters a large room, the only room in the structure. The room seems to be a large grave. But the body wich is lying in the grave itself doesn't seem to be old. The body is of a human male, 37 years old, and died only about three months ago. Captain Van Nieuwenhove knows very well that tricorders don't lie. He decides to send a medical team down to examen the body there, together with a security party. USS Thunderbolt Romulan Ambassador Ramok comes aboard the USS Thunderbolt and is treated with the most possible respect. Although the quarters on the Thunderbolt are not as comfortable as Ambassador Ramok could whish for, he doesn't seem to mind. After a few days everything runs smoothly on the Thunderbolt and it seems that the crew has already forgotten there is an Ambassador aboard. During the last war the Federation had an alliance with the Romulans, so nobody asks any questions. Ambassador Ramok stays in his quarters and is only seen once in the mess hall, before the Thunderbolt reaches the Federation-Romulan Neutral Zone. At the other side a Romulan Warbird decloakes and Commander Pran addresses the USS Thunderbolt. "I am Commander Pran of the Tal Shiar. You will extradite The Romulan spy Romak to us and return to Federation Space." But Captain Mechels knows his orders and will proceed to Romulus to get the Romulan Ambassador Ramok to his destination. Shuttle Explorer Space ... The endless beauty ... These are the voyages of LT CMDR Marja Hendriks, traveling with Blue Cordions to experience the wonders of the universe. A Nebula, alien primitive species, lost cultures, but most of all, finding out and trying to understand different dimensions. LT CMDR Hendriks had no idea that this would be such a exhausting mission. She has to write reports on daily basis and this beaurocratic duties seem to need more time than exploring a fenomena itself. But She will not give up. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and she will not surrender because of these futilities. But shortly after she has reached her second destination in Galaxy 97 Alpha, the Blue Cordions express their concerns. It seems that the mad scientist Jok has found a new way to travel huge distances in a short period of time. LT CMDR Hendriks remembers all to well that this Jok was responsable for the creating of some kind of gates with which enormous distances can be covered. Now that the Blue Cordions have destroyed all these gates, Jok had to find a new way to travel fast. Jok was also responsable for the war between the Red, Yellow and Blue Cordions. Is this an immediate evil threat that has to be taken care of once and for all ? First of all LT CMDR Hendriks wants to find out how strong Jok is. If she is stronger she will destroy him, if not, she will try to come as near to him as she can without endangering her ship and herself. So she can observe Jok and in the meantime she will ask Head Quarters for help. It's essential that threats like Jok should be eleminates but the how and when should be decided later on. USS Vertigo Day 16, 15.00 Internal sensors have not revealed an intruder on the ship. Chief of Security, Commander Lok and several security teams start a search of the ship, to look for any clues. Day 17, 02.19 Ensign Matz has fired her weapon and the kidnapper drops on the floor. The lights are switched on and two hidden security officers under command of Jack London take the kidnapper away. Day 17, 08.00 In the briefing room of the USS Vertigo there is a feeling of secret cloak and dagger activity. Commodore Slater will not reveal the identity of the kidnapper. First Officer, Captain Norma Lang is informed and agrees with the Commodore. Day 17, 09.00 Regular life on the USS Vertigo has resumed. Sandra and Max are still in sickbay for observation. Ensign Matz is promoted to Lieutenant for her great courages actions during this case of mistery. USS Lightning It is unknown to the USS Lightning crew that there are cloaked Romulan warbirds following the Federation ship every step of the way. But the alliance with the Federation during the past war has changed some things. Before the war with the Dominion, the Romulans would have destroyed any Federation ship in their space. Some Romulans know exactly where the USS Holland is located, even high ranking Romulans. The matter is considered classified and nobody is allowed to talk about it. But on the three warbirds following the USS Lightning, there are commanders who are very much interested in the USS Holland case. They want to use this opportunity to gain political profit. That could be expected of Romulans. When the USS Lightning arrives at the designated coordinates LT COL Crow and his crew only find a Romulan warbird. The warbird is completely deserted and there is no life aboard, except for a few plants. Strange thing is that these few plants are only found in Federation space. The markings on the Romulan warbird is even more shocking: USS Holland. LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 67319F: Knowing that it is a Romulan warbird, we have to be very cautious. The away team will be Atad, 1LT Bell and myself. The rest of my team will be on red alert. It's strange that it's a warbird with the name USS Holland. Even stranger is that there's no one aboard, except those plants. We will know more when we have are on board of the warbird. I've got a funny feeling about this. Wait and see. USS Silverado The Klingon Bird of Prey tries to get the shields back on line, but it is to late. Six Klingons are beamed over to the Silverado, and end up in the brig. One of them could be the murderer of Captain Cordain, LT July Grover and Chief Benson. Or they are all in it together. Ensign Walker will interrogate the Klingons with pleasure. One of them is happy to confess. He seems to be proud to be able to tell everything. "I am LT Gokor, serving on the Klingon Bird of Prey Hochue. It seems to me that the Federation has lowered itself to the taking of hostages. Know this Federation boy, that we are all prepared to die. To make this a bit short, I will tell you what happened nine years ago when your Captain, then still first officer of the Federation vessel USS Chicago, did not respond when the Klingon vessel Etloch was under attack by two Romulan warbirds, although we send out a distress call. We lost a lot of good warriors that day, but we managed to escape from the Romulans. If the USS Chicago would have helped us, the Romulans were certainly going to flee instead of fight. Revenge is a dish best served cold..." It is now clear that the Klingons are after the entire crew of the USS Chicago. They only have one purpose in their lives: Revenge, as they blame the killing of their fellow warriors on the Chicago crew. It is true that the Chicago should have offered help. After some research it is clear that Linda Cordain, at the time First Officer of the Chicago, was in command of the ship as her Captain was on shore leave. Ensign Walker reports his findings to LT CMDR Harrison immediately. Harrison was not the best friend of Captain Cordain. According interstellar law it is possible to grant the Klingons revenge as it is their way of doing things, but for Federation law these Klingons are murderers. "Sir, we should niform Starfleet Command of our resent information and leave the matter in their hands, and ask for further advice." "I agree with you Ensign Walker. This is out of our league and we don't want to make things worse." RPG Status Report July 2000 USS Earth The scientists on the USS Earth have figured out a way to follow a magnetic trail, produced by Jok's craft, and the hunt for Jok has begun. With the Klingon Vor'Cha vessel at point the two ships from the Alpha Quadrant are on a course to get some answers. This Jok seems indeed a madman, but also a brilliant scientist. To say it in one word: dangerous. The magnetic trail ends in a system with six planets. The third planet is the only inhabitable planet and it is only logical, according USS Earth First Officer Commander T'Lok. Both Federation and Klingons send down an away team. Both away teams go their own way and after only an hour the USS Earth away team discoveres a small town, where the villagers welcome the officers with food and drinks. These people call themselves Skraa and have achieved a standard of early space travel. They are at the point of exploring their own star system. After talking with the Skrraa the USS Earth away team does not get any wiser. The Skrraa have never heard of a certain Jok and have not detected any strange vessel. If a vessel would have landed on the planet the Skrraa defense grid would have detected it. In the mean time the Klingons have entered another village... Just as the Starfleet Officers decide to leave the town and head to the next town or village, the Skrraa assemble in the center of the town. It seems that the Klingons have used other methodes to get the Skrraa talk. They have used the usual Klingon brutality as a way of interrogation. The Skraa take their weapons. They are not as advanced as Federation or Klingon weapons, but they are leathal and destructive. It is clear to the Skrraa that the Starfleet Officers are not like the Klingons but the town eldest asks the Federation Officers on which side they are. Although it sounds dangerous Captain Steichen is determined to stop the Klingons in their brutal actions. USS Giorko The medical away team of the USS Giorko examines the body of the human male and can only come to the conclusion that this person has been killed in some kind of ritual way. It is not clear how the human got on this planet. To find out whether there is a ship of some kind on the planet, a search of the entire planet has to be executed. This kind of search will take at least three weeks to complete. In the mean time LT CMDR Cambrera continues the search in the structure with LT T'Nak and LT Mo. They find some artifacts, but nothing like the grave. Although it seems that there must be some hidden passages the Tricorder cannot find any secret corridors. Although LT CMDR Cambrera reports thre is another room behind a wall and wants to break down a wall to get in, Captain Van Nieuwenhove hesitates to let his team destroy a wall to get in. There could be another trap. The medical team has identified the body as Dr. Joshua Kroten, an Earth scientist. There are still a lot of questions. The answer could be close, but is not going to be discovered easily. Captain Van Nieuwenhove wants to search the planet centimeter by centimeter to find more data and try to solve the mistery himself. This includes braking down walls in the structure. USS Thunderbolt The USS Thunderbolt speeds up and although the Tal Shiar Warbird has dissapeared, Captain Mechels knows Commander Pran of the Tal Shiar is just following the Federation ship into Romulan space, cloaked as a spy should. Now that the Thunderbolt is in Romulan space and the crew is getting used to the idea that the Romulans are watching them, things abourd the Thunderbolt resume in the normal way. Although some crewmembers are getting curious of what Ambassador Romak could have done to displease the Tal Shiar. Starfleet Command doesn't give any answers either and Ambassador Romak is very vague in his answers as well, but nobody dares to ask any more questions. Just bring Romak to Romulus and that is it. Those were the orders of Starfleet Command and they will be followed, unless something very unexpecting will happen. And just when you think everything looks normal... "Red alert. Captain to the bridge." Captain Mechels can only run as fast as he can through the corridor on his way to the bridge. As commanding officer of a Starfleet ship in Romulan space, these kind of situations can not be taken lightly. When he arrives on the bridge, he sees two warbirds in battle on the main viewer...Captain Mechels knows what to do...Don't intervene and continue on his way to Romulus. Shuttle Explorer The voyage begins. On a carrier wave of the Blue Cordions LT CMDR Hendriks is brought to a far region of the universe. In a star system with only one planet Jok is found. The Blue cordions have no trouble to locate Jok. But something strange has happened to Jok. The Blue Cordions think Jok is under influence of something or someone else. They don't recognise this Jok. Jok is caught by the Blue Cordions and brought to LT CMDR Hendriks. When the Starfleet officer scans Jok with a tricorder, she notices that Jok is not alive as we know it. Jok has turned into some kind of form of energy although he looks humanoid. As if he has no other choice Jok attacks LT CMDR Hendriks, but the Blue Cordions intervene and lock up Jok in some kind of forcefield. USS Vertigo Day 21, 9.00 The USS Vertigo arrives at Starbase 163, where there will be a change of crewmembers. Jack London will be transfered to the USS India and says good-bye to Ensign Matz. Day 22, 21.00 The criminal kidnapper has escaped on Starbase 163. Commodore Slater, of the USS Vertigo and Admiral K'tok, commanding Starbase 163, are furious. The search begins. USS Lightning Atad, 1LT Bell and LT COL Crow materialize on the bridge of the Romulan warbird, strangely named USS Holland. Immediately on arrival Atad and Bell start downloading the ship's database and try to find out what happened. There are some files about the crew, who have abandoned the ship with the escape pods, before the ship entered Romulan Space. Since then, the ship is at drift. Atad checks the number of escape pods and most of them have been launched. Although Colonel Crow has not heard about this crew being rescued, it is almost certain that the crew has been saved. The USS Lightning Marine Team does not have to worry about that. A search of the ships does not reveal anything new. The question remains why the crew has left the ship. Maybe the crew didn't want to fall into the hands of the Romulans ? Then 1LT Bell seems to have found the answer. Bell and Atad have decoded a few files which prove that the USS Holland is a project of Starfleet Intelligence, to spy on the Romulans. It was never meant that the USS Holland would cross the border with the Romulan Star Empire. Maybe the crew could not stop it and had to leave the ship. Everyone knows what the Romulans do with spies. More files are decoded and even Atad is amazed to see that some high ranking Romulan officials knew about this project. With the USS Holland project both Starfleet and these high ranking Romulan officials wanted to do some illegal survey and observation. It seems that a real power struggle in the Romulan Star Empire has started. Just when the away team is ready to return, the three Romulan warbirds decloak and the leading Commander demands all files of the USS Holland. It seems that the Romulans just used the USS Lightning Marine Team to decode the USS Holland files. Now that is done these Romulans will stop at nothing to get those files. But LT COL Crow needs these files as well as prove that Starfleet Intelligence is involved in this illegal project. BR> LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 88854M: The away team is back from the USS Holland. we let the Romulans have everything as it is and get back to Federation space with copies of the files. We will try to get out of this situation in one peace and set course to Federation space. USS Silverado LT CMDR Harrison contacts Starbase 41. A few hours later the USS Atlas and USS Canada arrive at the location of the USS Silverado and escort the Klingon ship Hochue to Starbase 41, where the Klingons will be interrogated and brought to justice. The crew of the Silverado is complemented by Starfleet Command and while the Silverado crew is waiting for a new mission, LT CMDR Jeffrey Harrison is promoted to Captain. The Silverado is his ship now. For his good work in diplomacy and justice, Ensign Walker is promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. Most important is that the Silverado crew has not provoked the Klingons, which could have ended in another Federation - Klingon conflict. It is now up to the Federation diplomats to solve any problems with the Klingons. While on Starbase 41, Lieutenant Walker is approached by two agents who present themselves as agents of Starfleet Intelligence. They have a special operations mission for Tom Walker, but it is only with his permission. He cannot be ordered to do this job, but he is not allowed to talk to anyone about this secret mission. Tom Walker has to think about this proposal and asks for 24 hours to think about it. The special Operations mission is very clear and simple. Lieutenant Walker will be dropped in Romulan space and has to spy and report on Romulan activities at the border of the Neutral Zone. The mission will only take three days. But LT Walker does not accept this mission. He sends in his report to Captain Harrison without a word about Starfleet Intelligence. From: Lieutenant Tom Walker To: Captain Jeffrey Harrison Captain sir, I would like to request a couple of days shoreleave. I received news from Starfleet that my parents are on their way to this station. And they will arrive the day after the ship leaves the station. I haven't seen them in over two years. I was hoping to spend some time with them. I can be on the Silverado in eight days. There is a transport ship leaving in five days to meet with the Silverado. From: Captain Jeffrey Harrison To: Lieutenant Tom Walker Lieutenant you have certainly deserved some days on your own. The first two weeks we will only execute testing of the new systems, so part of the crew will be on shoreleave. RPG Status Report August 2000 General Announcement: Incoming Message: From Starfleet Command: Coded 46668P, Admiral Hyu Lifelander To: All Starfleet Commanding Officers Several Starfleet operatives in Romulan space have reported that there is a threat of civil war. Different political fractions of the Senate of the Romulan Star Empire are involved in a struggle for power. There are other reports indicating that even some squadrons of the Romulan fleet have engaged each other in battle. Although the Federation still has a fine relation with the Romulan Star Empire you are ordered not to intervene in this Romulan struggle and certainly not enter Romulan space. If your ship is in Romulan space, you will return to Federation space immediately. If Romulan ships cross the Federation border, you are authorised to use any means necessary to stop them. End of Message USS Earth The Skraa assemble their troops and advance to the brutal Klingon warriors. The Klingons however, are convinced that their technology is superior and are already preparing a big victory party. But they haven't thought about Captain Christine Steichen. The brave Captain orders to attack the Klingon Vor'cha class vessel as soon as most of the Klingon soldiers have been transported to the planet's surface. The IKS Amar is vulnerable and the USS Earth, Galaxy class has not much tropuble to disable the Vor'cha class Klingon ship. At the same time the Skraa troops have engaged the Klingon ground forces and although the Klingons fight with honor, they are seriously outnumbered and have to retreat. The only way to save themselves is transport to their own ship in orbit. Captain Steichen does not have to much trouble to convince the Klingons to stand down and stop fighting. The IKS Amar has sustained moderate damage, mostly to the weapon systems. And then suddenly sensors detect Blue Cordions which approach incredibly fast, carrying a Federation shuttlecraft. Captain Steichen tries to contact the shuttlecraft and ask for help. She knows the Blue Cordions are very powerful. USS Giorko LT CMDR Jose Cambrera stands in front of the wall, which he wants to destroy to get further in the structure. LT T'Nak and LT Mo have taken cover behind a few big stones. Then the USS Giorko First Officer fires his phaser. He has to increase the power setting twice, before the wall starts to vaporise. Now there is a hole in the wall and the away team enters another large room. Nothing else than some artifacts can be found and the puzzle still remains unsolved...until Chief of Operations LT Ginu reports: "Captain, sensors detect a massive energy build up 100 meters below the structure." Captain Van Nieuwenhove has understood he has to act fast. "Commander Cambrera, this is the Captain. Get to the transport coordinates now. Everything is going to blow sky high. Now Cambera." Although the energy build up causes interference all Giorko officers can be transported aboard except for LT CMDR Jose Cambrera, LT T'Nak and LT Mo. Chief of Operations LT Ginu cannot get a clear lock on them. The energy climbs up to the surface meter by meter while the three away team officers run for their lives. But as well as LT Ginu, Captain Van Nieuwenhove realises that it it will be almost impossible to rescue his officers. "Captain, we better move the ship. According my calculations half of the planet will explode and the ship shields cannot handle that." "LT Ginu. If we move this ship, it will be at the last moment. We will not move out of transporter range until I give the order." The Captain contacts sickbay to stand ready for casualties. Everything seems to be ready, but there is still no clear transporter lock and as the energy buildup comes closer to the surface, the interference increases. And at a certain point even Captain Van Nieuwenhove realises that he has to move the ship out of danger, but also out of transporter range. He gives the order as he should and the USS Giorko jumps to full impulse speed, away from the doomed planet. As calculated and expected the energy burst coming from in the planet breaks free and destroys 61 percent of the planet leaving a huge cloud of radiation around it. This amount of radiation is at a level that no one can survive longer than 6 hours, even in a ship. Captain Van Nieuwenhove knows exactly what to do: go back to what is left to the planet and hope for a miracle to find survivors of the away team. The radiation is dangerous. Sensors could be malfunctioning in this radiation as well, but the decision has been made. USS Thunderbolt Captain Mechels calls a senior staff meeting on the USS Thunderbolt. It is clear now that there are things happening in the Romulan Star Empire in which are not meant to be seen by Federation officers. But on the other hand, Captain Mechels has his orders to bring Romulan Ambassador Romak. The opinions of the senior staff are different and they all have good points, but Captain Mechels is the only one who can make the final decision. Just as the meeting is over, LT Tomar reports there are three Romulan warbirds decloaking at starboard bow. One of the Romulan ships contacts the Thunderbolt and informs Captain Mechels that Romulan space is dangerous for outsiders at this time, as if Captain Mechels had not understood that already. The Romulan commander volonteers to escort the Thunderbolt to Romulus to protect Ambassador Romak. But if Captain Mechels does not want any help, the Romulan warbirds will leave the Thunderbolt alone and continue on their way. But Captain Mechels does not want to chose sides in this conflict and ignores the Romulan escort and whatever the Romulans do, the USS Thunderbolt will go to Romulus. Shuttle Explorer After only a short investigation it is clear that the alien form in Jok has taken over Jok and has destroyed the original Jok. The alien needs a body to survive. LT CMDR Hendriks wants to study this Jok some more to find out if there are any more of these aliens and to see whether these aliens could be a threat. In this region of space LT CMDR Hendriks receives twelve emergency distress calls from ships nearby. These ships and their crews have been a victim of Jok. Most of the ships are damaged and LT CMDR Hendriks does not know who to help first. Maybe it is better to find out more about Jok's race. Others could be still around... LT CMDR Marja Hendriks will try to find out everything she can about Jok's race, but in the mean time she will investigate the status of other ships, brought to this region of space by Jok. Jok will certainly not be released. USS Vertigo Day 23, 00.25 There has been a murder on Starbase 163. With a criminal murderer running around it is no wonder, but Admiral Ktok has ordered red alert. Everywhere on the station, security troops are turning every centimeter of Starbase 163 to find the killer. Day 23, 08.00 Security meeting. The killer cannot be detected by internal sensors. Another murder has been committed. Day 23, 10.08 An alien ship comes into sensor range of Starbase 163. The commanding officer offers his help to find the killer on Starbase 163. After meeting with his senior staff, Admiral Ktok decides to accept the help. USS Lightning LT Crow says good-bye to the Romulans and sets course to Federation space. The Romulans enter the USS Holland and soon discover that the files they need are there. But they also discover someone has made a copy first. For the Romulans this case is clear. That Federation dog has a copy of these important files. The Federation ship USS Lightning has to be stopped at all costs. While the USS Lightning is racing towards the Federation border at maximum speed, a Romulan squadron of warbirds is already on an intercept cours. This squadron will intercept the USS Lightning before the Starfleet vessel reaches the Neutral zone. Atad reports that there are four Romulan warbirds on their way to intercept the USS Lightning and there is no way to escape from them. In pursuit of the Lightning there are the three warbirds, which the crew of LT COL Crow has met before. The situation seems desperate. LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 85951P: Looking to get the upperhand, we have detected an asteroidbelt, and are going to hide between the rocks and let the belt take us into Federation space. We are also going to place some mines in front and behind the asteroid belt in order to protect us. We know that if we detected the belt, so will the Romulans, but we hope that it will take them a while to find us and hopefully we will be in Federation space if not we will fight our way out. USS Silverado The USS Silverado leaves Starbase 41, leaving Lieutenant Walker on the base, where he can meet with his parents the next day. Chief Engineer Oscar Bondini has been chosen as the new First Officer and has been replaced LT Johanna Metcalf and the new Chief of Operations is LT Ktol. Of the 52 crewmembers only 28 serve actively aboard the USS Silverado which is running tests after the repairs and upgrades. One of the upgrades is a new shuttlebay with two type 10 shuttles in stead of only one. The four shuttlepods have been replaced by the second shuttle. The first warp tests are successfull and the weapon systems are working perfectly. All of this is of less concern for LT Walker as he spends some days on Starbase 41. He is not contacted again by Starfleet intelligence. But LT Walker has the chance to meet his parents, a meeting which goes very well. Just before LT Walker gets aboard the freighter USS Loader he hears other officers talk about some Romulan spies who were caught on Starbase 41. The Romulan Spies acted as if they were from Starfleet intelligence. The 24 officers of the USS Silverado get aboard the USS Loader for departure. They all only have one hour to get settled in their quarters and get ready for leaving Starbase 41. As the USS Loader leaves space dock they all realise their shore leave is over and that in 24 hours they will be back on the USS Silverado. Walking through the cargo bays of the USS Loader LT Walker and two other Silverado officers discover something strange with the merchandise. The boxes which contain clothing are much to heavy. As LT Walker opens a box, he discoveres that there are weapons hidden under the clothing. Those are Romulan weapons. Why would anyone in the Federation smuggle Romulan weapons ? The three officers decide not to tell the Captain of the freighter USS Loader. It is unlikely, but the Freighter Captain could be the smuggler himself. Lieutenant Walker is the senior Silverado Officer aboard the Freighter USS Loader. He calls all Silverado officers for a meeting. It is obvious that someone of the USS Loader crew is not to be trusted, so no one of the 14 USS Loader crewmembers is informed. "LT Sonak put a team together, check all weapons, and make a list. Lieutenants Eagle and Young, get a team together and see what more you can find out just how many crew there is on this ship in case we might have to take over the freighter. This is inportant, what ever you do, don't raise any suspicion, unless it is absolutely necessary to take action. All report back within two hours, and no communications between teams. In the meantime, I'll contact the Silverado. What happens tomorrow is something we don't have to worry about today. Good luck." USS Alice Cooper The USS Alice Cooper is patroling at the border of the Federation-Romulan neutral zone. The orders are clear and Captain Skwyr has no other choice than to inform his crew about the current Romulan situation. Anything can be expected, but it is highly unlikely that the Romulans will invade Federation space. After the first few days nothing happens. Communications of the Romulans are monitored, but there is nothing which could be defined as important. Just as the USS Alice Cooper crew starts to feel a little bored and useless, a Romulan D'deridex class warbird decloaks almost on top of the USS Alice Cooper. The Romulan ship has not activated shields and there are no weapon systems powered up. The warbird has sustained heavy damage and seems defenceless. "I am Commander Sulat in command of the Romulan ship Duvoras. We have proconsul Huka aboard our vessel. We need your help." Captain Skwyr suddenly has to make a decision. He orders to contact Starfleet Command, and makes preparations to help the Romulans. RPG Status Report September 2000 USS Earth While investigating Jok's race and Jok himself Shuttle Explorer receives a call from a fellow Federation ship USS Earth. Captain Steichen, in command of the USS Earth asks for help to return her ship back to Federation space. As a fellow officer LT CMDR Hendriks is of course willing to help the USS Earth. One of the Blue Cordion waves seperates from the others, locates the USS Earth and carries the ship back to Starbase 215. When the USS Earth has docked into spacedock, the Blue Cordions return to LT CMDR Hendriks and the other Blue Cordions. Captain Steichen is called by Admiral Trenton for her next mission and new orders. There are several inportant issues which have to be talked about with the Admiral and two other Starfleet Captains. These two Captains are real gentlemen and let Captain Steichen make the first choice of the missions which are most urgent. Admiral Trenton reminds the three Captains that the Romulans are having an internal struggle and that there are more and more Romulan fugitives coming into Federation space. There is no need for the Federation to be drawn into the Romulan conflict and to prevent that the Romulan struggle will be fought in Federation space, Starfleet Command has ordered that all Romulans will be send back to Romulan space as soon as possible. Captain Steichen will investigate the situation on Relay Station Alpha 9 as there is no word from the three officers aboard this relay station. USS Giorko The brave crew of the USS Giorko turns the ship to what is left of the planet. It seems that only a big rock in space has replaced the entire planet. At low speed the Giorko finds her way through the rocks, floating in space. The entire planet is almost completely destroyed and the danger of radiation is getting more serious every minute. After one hour of searching for the away team Doctor Frank Stevens reports that radiation levels are increasing, but not yet dangerous enough to be a threat. Captain Van Nieuwenhove can continue the search. After four hours Doctor Frank Stevens reports that radiation levels are getting through the ship's shields and there will be casualties within the hour. The big rock has been scanned completely, but there is no sign of any life form. At this point some of the Giorko crewmembers are losing hope as they think the away team members have been killed in the huge explosion. But Captain Van Nieuwenhove doesn't give up easily and asks Doctor Stevens to monitor the crew closely. The Giorko will search for the away team until the last possible moment. "Sir I think I have got something." Chief of Operations LT Latisum Ginu reports sensors have detected the away team's shuttlecraft despite the interference of the radiation. The Giorko moves towards the shuttle and transports the three away team members aboard, directly to sickbay. First Officer LT CMDR Jose Cambrera, LT T'Nak and LT Mo are in critical condition, but they will be saved. The Giorko leaves the doomed planet and sets a new course. Three days after the accident with the away team, Captain Van Nieuwenhove visits his first officer in sickbay to hear how he managed to escape from the exploding planet. "We were just lucky Captain. All three of us realised we only had one chance to make it. We had to get to the shuttle, power up all systems and activate shields to maximum. We reached the shuttle and got in, but we didn't have that much time. The shuttle was thrown into space and wasn't hit by the pieces of the planet. It was a miracle. Another problem started when propulsion was off line. The radiation would have killed us. If you hadn't returned to look for us, we would never have made it. Thanks Captain. I will never forget this." "Don't mention it Number One. I just hate to lose good officers. We have gathered a lot of data and Starfleet Command is very pleased with the result. And you are going to love our next mission. We have set course to Deep Space 9. The crew can relax for a few days on the station and then we will go through the wormhole to explore the Gamma Quadrant. Now the war is over, Starfleet is taken ever oportunity to explore the Gamma quadrant." "Sounds great to me Captain." On the Giorko bridge Chief of Security LT Jonathan Yell is in command. Sensors detect an anomaly only two lightyears away. Lt Yell calls the Captain to the bridge. Captain Van Nieuwenhove knows his crew deserves a short vacation on DS9 and will not take any personal action to investigate the anomaly. He reports the anomaly to Starfleet Command and ask for instructions. USS Thunderbolt The USS Thunderbolt will go to Romulus. That is the decision of Captain Mechels. The Thunderbolt will bring Ambassador Romak to Romulus. The Romulan warbird Morax is in battle with three other Romulan ships. Commander Topal of the Morax doesn't see how his ship can survive this poundering of weapons fire, but he is determined to do as much damage as he can. He orders to attack only one of the oponants. He knows he can destory that one ship, before the Morax is destoyed. Another attack and another. The Morax shields are gone, but one of the attackers is destroyed. The entire crew of the Morax is cheering. They all know they are history, but they did what they had to do... The USS Thunderbolt is detecting weapons fire ahead, but the Federation ship is to late to rescue any crewmember of the Morax. Two other warbirds have cloaked and have dissapeared. Captain Mechels still has no idea what all this fighting among Romulans is about. Ambassador Romak doesn't want to say anything either. "Captain, we are in standard orbit of Romulus. We have received the coordinates for transport of Ambassador Romak." Captain Mechels orders to transport Ambassador Romak to the designated coordinates. There seems to be no one in the Thunderbolt crew who isn't happpy that this mission is over. It is clear that every one on the Thunderbolt wants to get to Federation space as soon as possible. Unknown to the Thunderbolt crew is that without Ambassador Romak aboard they are no longer protected against Romulan attacks. The Thunderbolt is the last Federation ship in Romulan space and they will not receive help from the Federation. The Federation will not risk a full scale war with the Romulans because of one ship. One day after the Thunderbolt has set course to Federation space at maximum speed the intruder alert sounds. A Romulan soldier is found in one of the cargo bays. He surrenders without a fight and explaines that he came aboard to warn the Thunderbolt crew about a Romulan plot with Federation officials. The Romulan soldier is Sub-Commander Trex and he has information which can make some high ranking Romulan and Federation officials come in serious trouble. But the question is, whether Trex is telling the truth or not. Trex says he has prove, but it is located on a small moon in the Kodral System not far from the border with the neutral zone, but still in Romulan space. Shuttle Explorer Jok's race is almost completely extinct. The race is called Ghiond. There are only a few of this race left in the entire universe. Most individuals of the Ghiond are peacefull, except for Jok himself who has found a way to entertain himself with mingeling in other species business. The Ghiond are energy based lifeforms and they can convert their own energy into matter. Jok uses his abilities to annoy other lifeforms. This gives him pleasure. Lots of ships and even entire planets have been manipulated by Jok. While investigating Jok's race and Jok himself Shuttle Explorer receives a call from a fellow Federation ship USS Earth. But Captain Steichen is not the only one who wants assistance of LT CMDR Hendriks. A nearby planet called Sementan asks for the extradition of Jok and even threaten to attack if Jok is no handed over. LT CMDR Hendriks knows now that the Ghionds, Jok's race, are a peaceful race. Maybe they can help and tell some more about Jok's history. LT CMDR Hendriks asks the Blue Cordions to help all victims of Jok if this is possible. USS Vertigo Day 23, 11.14 The first aliens come aboard Starbase 163. They call themselves Roadals. They have been hunting the killer for some time. All they need is a human bate... Day 23, 11.15 By accident Ensign Matz enters the conference room in which the Roadals and Admiral Ktok are meeting. She overhears the talks and volonteers to be the bait. USS Lightning The USS Lightning sets course to the asteroid belt. The Lightning is faster and more maneuvrable than the Romulan Warbirds, and although the Romulans seem to come from all sides, the Lightning enters the asteroid belt, without being hit. On of the Romulan warbirds in pursuit of the Lightning is severly damaged by the asteroids and has to break off. The other Romulan commanders don't give up easily and maintain pursuit, over, under, between the asteroids. But the USS Lightning is much fatser and seemes to get away. Unknown to the Lightning crew the Romulans receive orders to stop all Federation ships in Romulan space. The Romulans realise they cannot win this race through the asteroid belt and start firing torpedos, hoping they will hit the Federation ship. But luck is not on the side of the Romulans this day and although they fire lots of deadly projectiles, the only things they hit are asteroids, which are blown to pieces. The destroyed asteroids make a pathway through the asteroid belt for the Romulans who are now gaining on the USS Lightning, but it is to late. The Lightning has crossed the neutral zone and is in Federation space. When the Romulan warbirds want to maintain pursuit, they are blocked by a small fleet of Starfleet vessels, which are patroling the Federation-Romulan border. LT COL Crow has to bring the files of the USS Holland to General Fujimori. Crow realises that with the capture of some Starfleet officers who turned out to be Romulan Spies on Starbase 41, these files are even more inportant. USS Silverado Two hours later... The Silverado officers meet again in a deserted location on the USS Loader. LT Sonak reports there are 114 Romulan disruptor rifles, 68 Romulan type A disruptors hidden in the cargo. The Romulan weapons are disabled by LT Sonak just in case. LT Eagle and LT Young report there are 14 crewmembers on the USS Loader, one of them is the cook. Both cannot say with certainty which of the USS Loader crewmembers could possibly be a smuggler. LT Tom Walker has not been able to contact the USS Silverado as the communication systems are controled by the USS Loader crew. But with a trick he convinced the USS Loader Captain to contact the Silverado. LT Walker choses his words very carefully, when he talks to Captain Harrison and Captain Harrison understands what is happening on the USS Loader. Without raising suspicion, the crew of the Silverado is now ready to act. "LT Sonak, take your team to this part of the ship, the crew section. I want you to make a search for weapons, confiscate them. LT Eagle and LT Young, split your teams up in two, sweep all sections. Take possession of all weapons you find, locate the crew and wait for my signal. LT Sonak, once you have finished, report to the bridge with two officers. We have to take over the bridge first. Once the bridge is under our control, we signal the go ahead. Gentlemen, we are taking over this ship. Take your positions, and use force when necessary. We can use this part of the cargo section for a brig. It has a forcefield. Good luck." USS Alice Cooper Incoming Message from: Starfleet Command, Admiral Tony Mannetti To: Captain Dok Skwyr, USS Alice Cooper Captain Skwyr, I have understood that you want to help the Romulans, but after their ship is able to return to Romulan space, they have to go back. The Federation will not intervene in a possible Romulan civil war and Starfleet Command will not risk any ship or lives in this matter. So I repeat the order: you are allowed to help the Romulans on the Duvoras, but as soon as the Duvoras can return to Romulan space you will escort the ship to their home. End of Message It must be clear to Captain Skwyr that this is only the beginning of the trouble with the Romulans. Other Federation ships have already reported problems with Romulan ships as well. It seems that the Duvoras is not the only Romulan ship which has crossed the border of the Neutral Zone to try to find help in Federation space. The Romulan senate is not pleased with this situation to say the least. The Romulan Star Empire has warned all neighbours, including the Federation and Klingon Empire not to help the renegade Romulan ships. Helping the renegade traitors will be considered an act of war against the Romulan Star Empire. Luckily for Captain Skwyr the Romuilan ship Duvoras has been reasonably repaired, just enough to return to Romulan space. While the Alice Cooper escorts the Duvoras towards the Neutral Zone the Cooper's sensors detect high amounts of neutron radiation close to the ship. The Alice Cooper crew realises that this radiation could come from a cloaked vessel. Captain Skwyr is just in time to call for red alert and raise shields. Two Romulan warbirds decloak right in front of the Alice Cooper. "I am Commander Lot of the Romulan warbird Tares. The other ship you see is the warbird Stema. We are here to get the Duvoras back to Romulan space. You will keep your distance while we will board the Duvoras and capture the traitors aboard that ship. We know we are in Federation space, but we have to set an example here. We will do everything to get the traitors back and bring them to trial, after which they will be executed. You will not intervene. An intervention on your part will be considered an act of war, a war the Federation cannot afford. Do not stand in our way." The Duvoras has raised shields or what is left of it. Captain Skwyr knows that the Duvoras crew will not surrender easily and most likely they will fight until the last man. Although it is obvious the Duvoras crew has not much of a chance against the Tares and Stema. Captain Skwyr orders to send a message to Starfleet Command, but the Alice Cooper's communications are jammed by the Romulans and the Starfleet vessel cannot get through to Starfleet Command to ask for help or advice. It is clear that the Alice Cooper is on her own. The Tares and Stema have powered up their weapons and move closer to the Duvoras... RPG Status Report October 2000 USS Earth Relay Station Alpha 9 Lieutenant Tony Marchetti, Personal Log Stardate Encoded Ensign Eilene and I have finished the diagnostics. We are both very happy we have found no serious problems. This brand new relay station is fantastic. We even have a small shuttlebay right below the control room. After finishing the diagnostics, Ensign eileen and I have taken the shuttle for a short flight. I didn't want to do it at first, but I got permission from Starfleet Command. I just told them I had to test the shuttle as well and they agreed. Can you believe it ? We had a great flight of almost one hour. Both of us piloting for half an hour. It was great. Ensign Eilene has been here for only one month but she fits in indeed. Ensign Yok is here a bit longer and he will leave us again in four weeks, when his tour is over. He will be assigned to a real starship. I must confess that the idea makes me a little jealous. I have been on Alpha 9 for almost a year. The shuttle flight today was a fabulous experience. We haven't tested the shuttle for nine months. It has been too long. Well, I guess that's it for now. Back to reality. End Log The USS Earth arrives at Relay Station Alpha 9 after a two days journey. When the relay station is scanned there are no life signs aboard, the escape pods are still in place and even the shuttle is still where it should be. The relay station itself is working perfectly and all automated systems are active. So the only problem is that there is no one aboard. There should be three officers present. Sensors do not reveal anything out of the ordanary and first officer T'Lok can only suggest the most logical action. Send an away team aboard Alpha 9. But before doing anything else the crew of the USS Earth will download the computer data of Alpha 9 and look for anything unusual. USS Giorko Incoming Message To: Captain Geert Van Nieuwenhove, USS Giorko From: Commodore Trevor Howard, Starbase 63 Captain, we know your crew has had some serious days behind them and of course you can relax for a few days. We have dispatched the science vessel USS Newton to investigate the anomaly you have encountered. The Newton will arrive at the location of the anomaly in 7 hours. Have fun on DS9. End of Message Aboard Deep Space 9 "Colonel. The Defiant is on approach to dock...No Colonel, it is the USS Giorko." "Let them dock." "Understood." Aboard the USS Giorko coordinates were received for the docking procedures. Most of the crew have not yet been on Deep Space 9 and this will be an opportunity for them to explore the legendary station. Captain Van Nieuwenhove leaves a skeleton crew and some security officers aboard the Giorko and accompanies his officers onto the huge station. The promanade is very busy and soon most of the officers or on their own except for the Captain who is with his senior staff except for the first officer, who is still not one hundred percent fit. Of course the visits are not limited to Quarks, but the entire tour of the station takes a long time. While the other officer are trying to decide whether to take the tour or not, a few Bajoran security officers come closer and grab Chief of Operations LT Latisum Ginu and place him under arrest. The accusation is theft. LT Latisum Ginu is taken away to a holding cell. At the time Captain Van Nieuwenhove and the other officers realise what has happened, LT Latisum Ginu is locked up. Captain Van Nieuwenhove will not leave DS9 until the investigation is over and he and his crew will try to help with the investigation. USS Thunderbolt Captain Mechels believes Sub-Commander Trex and sets course to the Kodral System. To the Thundebolt crew's surprise nothing happens on their way to the Kodral System. The few days which take to get there there has not been a Romulan ship in the neighbourhood. Of course the Thunderbolt crew realises that Romulan ships can cloak. But to everyone's releave does Helm Officer LT Malory report the Thunderbolt is in standard orbit of around a small moon in the Kodral System. The moon is indeed inhabitable, but sensors do not detect any level of sophistication. Sub-Commander Trex provides Captain Mechels with the coordinates to beam down an away team. Sub-Commander Trex will stay aboard as garanty. The away team under command of first officer LT CMDR Els Antwerps is send to the designated coordinates. Four security officers accompany LT CMDR Antwerps, LT Tenderfoot, Doctor Ceuster and Chief of Security LT Tomar. As soon as the security officers have cleared the area the away team starts a search. The team has arrived in an underground structure and the symbols on the walls make it clear this is a Romulan structure. When the away team has been underground on the moon for about ten minutes, two Romulan warbirds decloak and without warning they fire on the USS Thunderbolt. After these first shots, the Romulan lead ship hails the Thunderbolt and demands that the Starfleet vessel has to leave Romulan space immediately or it will be destroyed. Captain Mechels has little options. He cannot risk lowering shields to beam up the away team. If the Romulans attack while the shields are down, the ship and crew will be certainly destroyed. Captain Mechels will tell the Romulans about the conspiracy of Romulans and Federation officials and hope they believe him. Shuttle Explorer The decision has been made. Although LT CMDR Hendriks cannot help every victim of Jok, even with the help of the Blue Cordions, she is going to try. At the same time one Blue Cordion is sent out to look for more Ghionds. The nearby planet of the Sementan understands that LT CMDR Hendriks has to find Jok first before they can claim an extradition. They are a patient people and are willing to wait. So the journey begins and after a few days already, LT CMDR Hendriks has helped about a dozen ships in need and an entire planet. Just when things are beginning to look promissing, there is an unexpected turn in the events. A space-time rift opens only a few thousand kilometers in front of LT CMDR Hendriks shuttlecraft. The Blue Cordions ask for advice. A ship comes out of the rift and without any warning starts to fire, but only on the shuttlecraft. LT CMDR Hendriks tries to identify the attacker, but fails. She asks the Blue Cordions to protect her and tries to contact the attacker. If she does not get any answer, she wil ldisable the attacker if she can. Only as a last resort she will destroy the attacker, if she cannot do otherwise. USS Vertigo Day 23, 12.00 Ensign Matz is placed in a room. She does not know what to expect, but the aliens called Roadals have planned it and they assured nothing bad can happen. Day 23, 12.15 Ensign Matz is getting nervous. Suddenly she hears movements. USS Lightning Starbase 41 is a most peacefull place, at least at the outside. As soon as the Lightning docks in spacedock, it is clear to the crew all hell is going to break lose very soon. Starbase 41 is getting ready for battle... General Fujimori, in command of Starbase 41, doesn't seem to take any chances. When LT COL Crow reports to the General in person, the General is very pleased, but he also has a request. The Lightning has to bring the General to Starbase 166. It is a request, not an order. The way to Starbase 166 is not going to be easy. Rumours are going around the Romulans seem to be everywhere in Federation space. For LT COL Crow there is a small dilemma. If he refuses the General's request, that might break his carreer, but at the other hand his crew needs rest and his ship needs a serious upgrade... LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 39777M: If the General can wait until our ship is upgraded than my team will bring the General to Starbase 166. But we have to make a list to upgrade our ship. Then we will wait and see how long it takes and whether the General can wait. I will tell him of my decision. USS Silverado LT Tom Walker seems to have everything under control on the smuggler's ship USS Loader, but while his officers are waiting for his signal a Romulan warbird decloaks at starboard bow of the USS Loader. Tom Walker can monitor every move of the crew aboard the USS Loader, but can also watch the Romulan ship. Apparently the entire crew of the USS Loader are smugglers and they start transporting the weapons to the warbird, not knowing LT Walker and his officers have disabled those weapons. Then LT Walker gives the signal. After a short fight and some struggles the crew of the USS Loader is locked up. But the Romulans realise something is wrong and open a communication channel: "USS Loader. We have not received any merchandise in five minutes. If you don't have a good explanation, we will board your vessel and take what is ours." But before LT Walker can answer a Starfleet vessel drops out of warp and takes position in front of the Romulan warbird. "This is Captain Jeffrey Harrison, in command of the USS Silverado. It seems to me my dear Romulan friends, taht you have lost your way. This is Federation Space. I suggest you get out of our space now, or we will open fire." But the Romulans don't want any witnesses and maneuver for an attack. Captain Harrison has seen the action of the Romulans and executes Attack Pattern Delta 5. And so the battle begins... Captain Harrison contacts the USS Loader. He can lower his shields for a moment and transport everyone aboard the Silverado. But it is not certain LT Walker aggrees... Walker gives his orders. "LT Sonak, turn the ship around, facing the Romulans. Let's give them something else to think about. We can call their bluff, on my mark prepare the ship for ramming speed. Inform the Silverado of our status. Let's hope they can beam us aboard in time." USS Alice Cooper The Romulan commanders of the Tares and Stema are very patient and don't want to risk a war with the Federation themselves, so they wait until the Duvoras is in Romulan space. The USS Alice Cooper returns to Federation space without any problems from the Romulans. The last thing the officers of the Alice Cooper see of the Duvoras is that the ship cloaks and dissapears. The Tares and the Stema cloak as well and the incident is considered as a successful operation. After a few days of patroling messages from other Starfleet vessels indicate that they have the same kind of incidents as the USS Alice Cooper. At this time it seems that Starfleet Command has decided to send a serious fleet to the Romulan-Federation Neutral Zone. The net of patroling ships has been set up. This entire net covers most of the border and no ship can cross the line, unless it is cloaked. A cloaked Romulan vessel crossing the border will be interpreted as an act of war. But it is not certain the Romulans will accept these conditions. At a certain moment the USS Alice Cooper receives a vague distress call. Although it is clearly a Federation distress call, the message is not clear enough to understand. The Cooper communications specialists can only locate the source of the distress message, and that is all. The distress call comes from a planet in Federation space. Captain Skwyr realises that if he leaves his location, there will be a hole in the detection net. RPG Status Report November 2000 USS Earth Relay Station Alpha 9 seems to be deserted by the three officers. Starfleet officers don't just leave their post. The shuttlecraft is still docked and there is no escape pod missing. The downloaded files do not reveal anything out of the ordanary. All three officers have been writing their reports. Their last reports must have been entered just before or mayba one hour before something happened. The sensor logs do not reveal anything either except that there is a part missing. Almost one hour of sensor logs is missing. These files are clearly forged, but it is not clear by who. The officers logs do not reveal any trouble or even tension aboard the relay station. It seemes that the three officers Lieutenant Tony Marchetti, Ensign Eileen and Ensign Yok, were performing their duties how they should. Chief Medical Officer Doctor Zaffo Numbo suggests that there could be some kind of illness aboard, but sensors do not detect any bodies either. Doctor Numbo still advices extreme caution for an away team. Most of the staff members agree that there should not be send an away team onto the relay station before it is absolutely safe to go. It is strange that a part of the logs has been erased, but it is most unlikely that the three offciers aboard Relay Station Alpha 9 have done this. All of them had a good state of service. The relay station is scanned and scanned again and just at the moment Captain Steichen is thinking about sending an away team to the station... "Captain. I think you should see this. Three spacesuits have been taken out of the lockers. They are all only half ready for use. It seems that those three officers have tried to put the suits on before... well... something happened." Captain Steichen is running out of options and will send an away team aboard in space suits. USS Giorko The USS Giorko Chief of Operations, LT Ginu has to stay in the holding cell. Captain Van Nieuwenhove can talk to him but the Lieutenant does not understand why he is locked up. He had no items of the list of stolen objects on him and he wasn't even aboard DS9 when the theft happened. Captain Van Nieuwenhove tries to explain to DS9 security that this case is absolutely ridiculous, but nothing helps. As if it is a coincidence, there is a Starfleet Admiral aboard DS9, but even this Admiral Flodder, waves Captain Van Nieuwenhove's complaints away and orders him not to intervene. It is clear that something strange is happening here and it is not correct. An officer of the USS Giorko has been locked up, without evidence, on the contrary, LT Ginu could not have done the crime as he wasn't even aboard DS9 at that time. On top of the events Starfleet Command orders the USS Giorko to go to Gulada III to escort the USS Hawkeye on a mission to the Romulan Neutral Zone. The Hawkeye will have to leave in seven days and the USS Giorko's journey to Gulada III will take at least six days. That doesn't give Captain Van Nieuwenhove much time. The USS Giorko Captain selects a group of specialists of his crew and orders them to investigate this case further. He lets his officers disguise themselves and go under cover. USS Thunderbolt Romulans are not stupid. They believe these Federation infiltrators are spies and will say anything to save their lives. And from their point of view they are absolutely right, but that doesn't help Captain Mechels. In the mean time the away team on the planet under command of LT CMDR Antwerps discover an underground station where Federation and Romulan technology are mixed. It is clear to LT CMDR Antwerps that something is going on in the Kodral system which involves the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire. LT CMDR Antwerps reports her findings to the Thunderbolt, but the only reply she receives is a few words from the Captain explaining two Romulan warbirds are at the point of attacking the Thunderbolt. The Romulans decide not to waiste any more time and attack the Thunderbolt. But the Thunderbolt's manoeuvrability postpones the inevitable. In a heroic manoeuvre Captain Mechels can lower the shields and transport the away team aboard. It is unfortunate that the away team didn't have time to investigate the underground base further. He sends the data of the findings of his first officer to the Romulans, but there is not even a reply. The Romulans keep attacking. This time there seems no way out for the Thunderbolt. There is only one way to get out of this. Captain Mechels orders to execute plan B. Shuttle Explorer Although it didn't seem like it at first the attacker of LT CMDR Hendriks shuttlecraft identifies himself as a Ghiond, Jok's race. He does not accept that his friend Jok is attacked, and he adds he has a lot of friends who agree with him. Jok's friend resumes his attacks without much delay. Suddenly a second rift opens and two ships, with the same configuration bust out of the rift and attack Jok's friend, who is destroyed after a short fight. The two ships, apparently also from the Ghionds reopen the rift in space and dissapear through it. The Blue Cordions explain to LT CMDR Hendriks that the Ghionds are fighting a civil war. There are two sides: one of them is the power hungry side of Jok, which wants to conquer the universe, the other side is rather peacefull like always, but are now fighting Jok's group to stop Jok's plan to conquer the universe. LT CMDR Hendriks is in a unique position to help the Ghionds and prevent the destruction of the universe. She knows that the Blue Cordions can help her, but she also knows that Federation law does not allow her to intervene in a local conflict. Although there is always the fact that because of this war between very powerful enemies the universe can be destroyed. LT CMDR Hendriks will ask the Blue cordions to restore the peace between the two fractions of the Ghionds, because peace is the most important issue here. USS Vertigo Day 23, 12.16 Around ensign Matz there is a loud noise. She sees boxes flying around and several times she has to dive to save herself. Suddenly she sees a vague shadow right in front of her. Day 23, 12.17 Just as the shadow is jumping towards Ensign Matz, the two already notorious children Sandra and Max suddenly appear out of nowhere. They are holding somekind of weapon. Day 23, 12.18 It is over. The alien killer did not survive the attack of Sandra and Max. Sandra and Max dissapear... USS Lightning When LT COL Crow enters General Fujimori's office the General doesn't really look pleased. He has read the list of upgrades LT COL Crow has asked for. Crow notices that the General is in a bad mood, and jumps to attention. "LT COL Crow. Who do you think you are, demanding upgrades like that. You are not a General yet. Besides, we don't have the time." Crow is just standing there listening to the roaring voice of General Fujimori. The General orders Crow to follow him. During the walk the two Marines pass spacedock where Crow sees his ship, the USS Lightning, docked. He also sees some workbees doing some repairs. No upgrades for his ship, that is a sure thing. The General continues to talk. "And did you really think I was going to fly with you on that old, completely out of date ship on one of the most dangerous missions in Starfleet history?" Crow would like to say that he did request upgrades, but he doesn't say anything. He has the impression it will not change anything. As they walk further Crow sees another ship, just like his. The General orders Crow to follow him to the airlock. The airlock opens and the two Marines step into the ship, up to the bridge and... "Skipper on the bridge." Marine Captain Hawk, the senior officer in Crow's team is standing at attention on the bridge of this ship. He points with one finger to the ship's plaque. LT COL Crow doesn't look at the engineers noted on the plaque but looks at the name: USS Lightning with the motto: "No Time to Waiste". General Fujimori starts laughing and Crow realises the joke is on him. After a tour of the new USS Lightning Crow can't be more happy. This Defiant class ship has an extended shuttlebay with a Runabout and supplemental modules, the ship has better weapons and defensive systems, better sensors, and some of the cargo bays have made room for supplemental computer systems and a holodeck. It is clear to Crow that the new USS Lightning is a serious battleship. Everyone aboard is very excited, but stops talking when General Fujimori starts his short speach. "Listen up. This new USS Lightning will be the new standard for Marine vessels. You have already seen some of the new systems. This ship also has a cloaking device, but I can only remind you all that that is classified information. According treaties the cloaking device can only be used outside the Alpha Quadrant. Now Colonel Crow. Take me and these important files to Starbase 166." USS Silverado The USS Loader comes about and starts its run towards the Romulan warbird, but the Romulan commander is not a fool, nor beginner. He sees the USS Loader coming and fires on the Loader's propulsion systems. The Loader is suddenly at drift. Captain Harrison takes advantage of the situation to start transporting everyone from the USS Loader aboard the Silverado, but the Romulans don't give up that easily and come about for an attack on the Silverado. Captain Harrison orders to raise shields again as soon everyone is transported aboard his ship, except for one man...LT Tom Walker. Walker realises he is the only one on the Loader and maybe it is better that Captain Harrison leaves him there to keep his shields up to defend the Silverado. "Engine core breach is immenent in 5 minutes." The USS Loader computer doesn't know any mercy. LT Walker is in more trouble than he thought. He has a simple choice... USS Alice Cooper The USS Alice Cooper starts to speed up towards the designated coordinates. The closer the Cooper comes, the distress call becomes more clear. "This is the USS Gondel. We have suffe... in the main...Life support is... We only have a few... we need assistance..." The message keeps repeating itself. USS Gondel Captain Fernando Calore commanding: Personal Log I don't know whether we are going to make it, but the repair crews cannot be at two places at the same time. We had to eject the core. The core exploded shortly after that, damaging the ship, which already had a few severe blows during the attack. They had taken us completely by surprise. I still don't know why they attacked. Three casualties today. I stopped counting. There is no time. My God, we lost almost half of the crew. Decks 1, 5, 6 and 7 are the only decks with life support, 4 decks out of 23. We still can't access engineering. The two shuttlebays are completely destroyed and most of the escape pods have been automaticly launched by the malfunction of several key systems. The few remaining working escape pods are located on decks 3 and 4, and there is no life support there. We don't have enough power. Propulsion is completely out and most of the auxilliary systems are not operational. I have noted in the ship's log the courage and the determination of my crew. I couldn't have had a finer crew. They have the will to live and they deserve nothing less. End Log "Captain Skwyr we have them on long range sensors. Sir, it is the USS Gondel. She looks beaten up hard sir." Aboard the USS Cooper everyone is getting ready to receive the wounded crew of the USS Gondel. The Cooper has just arrived in time to rescue the remaining USS Gondel crewmembers. When they are transported aboard, the USS Gondel crew show the marks of a struggle for life on their faces, and although they must be very happy they don't have the energy anymore to show it. The Cooper crew does everything she can to give the Gondel crew some peace. Only the USS Gondel Captain Fernando Calore, has to talk to Captain Skwyr. The USS Gondel has been attacked by two Romulan warbirds. One of the Romulan ships has somemoderate damage, and maybe the USS Alice Cooper can track these Romulans. Captain Skwyr informs Starfleet Head Quarters immediately. Captain Dok Skwyr decides to drop of the crew of the USS Gondel at Starbase 29, which means a detour of at least one day, which could compromise the detection grid at the Romulan border, although it seems that the Romulans have entered Federation space anyway. And Captain Skwyr realises his first duty is to welfare of fellow Starfleet personnel. RPG Status Report December 2000 USS Earth Commander T'Lok, first officer of the USS Earth transports aboard, together with Doctor Numbo. The away team has been assembled as small as possible to limit the risk. As soon as the officers are aboard Relay Station Alpha 9 they first check the space suits, but find nothing. Next is the main computer of the station. There are indeed some forgeries in the logs, but the erased parts are not recoverable. Doctor Numbo has scanned the station deck by deck and room by room, but cannot find any unusual biological or chemical substance that could have caused the dissapearance or the death of the three officers. Just before Captain Steichen wants to bring back Commander T'Lok and Doctor, Chief Engineer Sora Mil offers the idea that maybe the three officers are hiding in a location hidden from any sensors. Sora Mil, a former Bajoran resistance fighter used this technique to mislead the Cardassians on more than one occasion. First Officer T'lok and Doctor Numbo know what to do. They scan the station again, now with the tricorders configurated following the Chief Engineer's specifications. Not much later the three officers, Lieutenant Tony Marchetti, Ensign Eileen and Ensign Yok are found in a small room. The room is indeed shielded from any normal sensors. Two of the officers are all right but Ensign Yok is in bad condition and is transported to sickbay immediately for treatment accompanied by docotr Numbo. Lieutenant Marchetti explains that there was a star nearby that went supernova. There was no indication that this particular star should explode. The Relay Station's sensors are not sufficient and did not detect anything unusual in the neighbourhood of the exploding star at the time. There was a serious amount of radiation and the officers did not have the time to put on any suits and there was no other way than hide in the generator room, which is heavily shielded. The officers had no idea whether the radiation was still present or not. Apparently the radiation is gone and the officers are safe. The radiation has damaged the computer files and the logs. After further examination more damaged files are found. Captain Steichen knows enough and calls back Commander T'Lok. Just as the Commander is aboard, sensors detect an exploding star nearby. "Captain. The star of Systam K-21 is going supernova." "Shields. Get us to a safe place Ensign." After the supernova does not present any danger for the USS Earth, Captain Steichen decides to go further into this region of space to investigate these strange phenomena. USS Giorko A group of USS Giorko, disguised as traders disperse on DS9. They only have one mission. Find out why LT Ginu, Chief of Operations of the USS Giorko, is locked upi for a crime he did not comit. Time is limited. The USS Hawkeye is expecting the Giorko so the case has to be closed in 12 hours. The Giorko officers do some strange deals, bribe people on the station and even try to intimidate people, but nothing helps. After ten hours of searching, asking questions, talks and investigating the station's logs, there is not yet any progress. Captain Van Nieuwenhove does not give up easily and tries again to talk to the station's security officers, but without succes. The Captain is running out of options. But when he leaves the security office it seems that miracles do happen... A young man comes right to captain Van Nieuwenhove and asks him to follow him. First the Captain refuses, but when the young man explaines he can help with the LT Ginu case, the Captain does not have a lot of choice than to trust the young man. The Young man does not give his name, but takes Captain Van Nieuwenhove to the lower and dark decks of the station. There is a small group of people waiting for Captain Van Nieuwenhove to arrive. One older woman steps forward and starts to speak: "I am Nilla Vathal. We are from the Bajoran Voldara Mouvement. This groups is a resistance group, fighting the Cardassians, and we want to help you, so you can get your officer back. But we need something in return. You must bring us to Cardassia Prime." It is clear that this Bajoran Voldara Mouvement is a group of terrorists, but is Captain Van Nieuwenhove desperate enough to get his officer back with the help of a group of bandits? The total unexpected happens The Captain of the USS Giorko will help the Bajoran Voldara Mouvement and get LT Ginu out of the holding cell. USS Thunderbolt Two more Romulan warbirds decloak on the Thunderbolt's six. Captain Mechels knows his away team is safe aboard and executes plan B. The Thunderbolt jumps forward and the Romulan torpedos miss their target. Captain Mechels orders to change course to the pole of Kodral III to confuse the Romulan sensors. Two of the warbirds cloak and the others retreat. Captain Mechels knows that the cloaked Romulan ships will wait until the Thunderbolt leaves the safe position. Captain Mechels expected that and orders to set course into the atmosphere of the planet, and then suddenly jump to the Kodral star. The Romulans seem confused and don't know better than to follow the thuderbolt, but by the time they figure out what Captain Mechels' plan B is, it is to late. Captain Mechels orders to fire alpha configurated torpedos into the Kodral star. Only a few flares of the Kodral star are enough to destroy both Romulan ships in pursuit of the Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt is free to go to Federation space and not a moment to soon. The Thunderbolt is left through by the Small Starfleet fleet which is patroling the border. The last Federation ship has left Romulan space, but rumors are already traveling fast and the crew of the Thunderbolt hear that there are Romulan ships in Federation space. They have to hurry to get the evidence to Head Quarters. The nearest starbase is Starbase 166. But half way Starbase 166, LT Leeloo Brussels has some bad news to report. "Sir we receive several distress calls. They are coming from seventeen escape pods of the USS Australia." Captain Mechels realises that rescuing the officers of the USS Australia will take at least four days. The question is whether he has time to do that... He decides that the destiny of the Federation may lay in his hands and Captain Mechels will examine the evidence first before giving it to someone in Starfleet, to be sure the evidence does not fall in the wrong hands. The survivors of the USS Australia have to take care of themselves. Shuttle Explorer The Blue Cordions have spread out through the universe to search for all the Ghionds, the race Jok belongs to as well. The two fractions of the Ghionds have no idea that it is the work of Jok alone to let his own people turn against each other, just like he did with the Yellow, Red and Blue Cordions. But the Ghionds are not like the Cordions and they realise almost immediately that Jok is doing the wrong thing. It is soon clear to all Ghionds that Jok has to be stopped. His current actions cause stars to go supernova, space itself will be ruptured if Jok is not stopped. But the Ghionds also realise that it will not be easy to catch Jok, even with the help of other species. Two times LT CMDR Hendriks has to pilot her ship away from a star going supernova. during the peace talks between the Ghionds and the Blue Cordions. It is clear that Jok now has technology that is beyond any fear of any species. There is no telling in what is next... But the Blue Cordions and the Ghionds ask LT CMDR Hendriks for her advice as she seemes to be in a key position to make decisions others cannot take. LT CMDR Hendriks is considered a neutral ambassador and her advice will not be taken lightly. "I propose that the Ghionds eliminate Jokwhile the Blue cordionsand I try to do the same on our side. This is no interference in internal matters but at the same time protecting our own interests." USS Vertigo Day 23, 15.00 The search for Sandra and Max has stopped. The USS Vertigo sets course to Starbase 166. Commodore Slater has been called by Admiral Marc Denver, in command of Starbase 166. Day 27, 14.23 The USS Vertigo receives a distress call from Starbase 166. Romulan ships have attacked the starbase and Admiral Denver has initiated the autodestruct sequence. Federation personnel aboard Starbase 166 will battle until the last man. Day 27, 14.24 Commodore Slater orders to speed up to maximum speed on a course to Starbase 166. USS Lightning The voyage of the USS Lightning to Starbase will take some time and LT COL Crow's team can fully explore the possibilities of their new ship. The new USS Lightning has some great options and a holodeck for simmulations or relaxations. But the team does not forget they have perhaps the most important mission ever. To prevent a possible war with the Romulans files about a Romulan and Federation conspiracy, should be delivered to Admiral Marc Denver. Admiral Denver is the only one in the Federation who can be trusted according General Fujimori, now also aboard the USS Lightning. But almost halfway to Starbase 166, the USS Lightning receives a distress call from the Starbase, from Admiral Denver himself. "...Under attack by Romulan warships. We cannot hold much longer. I have set the autodestruct sequence on a 24 hours delay. The Romulans cannot change that..." The message is breaking of. MCAPT Hawk reports that the transmission is jammed at the source. General Fujimori asks the Marines for options. The USS Lightning can make it to Starbase 166 in 23 hours... USS Silverado The USS Loader computer doesn't know any mercy. LT Walker is in more trouble than he thought. He has a simple choice... "Computer, locate the nearest escape pod. What time to impact ?" "Time to impact is two minutes, 25 seconds. The nearest escape pod is located aside Cargo bay two." LT Walker doesn't have much time. The USS Loader is lost, either by a core breach or by ramming the Romulan warbird. MOst of the power of the USS loader is gone and Walker has to climb some stairs and crawl through some small tubes. The clock is ticking and the Chief of Security of the USS Silverado has already calculated he cannot reach cargo bay two in time. It is only ten meters from the hatch of the escape pod but at that moment the USS Loader shakes heavily. LT Walker is thrown on the ground. His arm hurts and he realises the USS Loader has crashed into the Romulan ship. He struggles on his feet, knowing it is not much use, but he has to try. Then LT Walker hears some of the explosions. Then everything is black... Captain Harrison has seen that the USS Loader is ramming the Romulan ship and gives his orders in his particular way. "Bondini, get us to the Romulans and get LT Walker out of there." The USS Silverado jumps forward with LT CMDR Oscar Bondini at the helm, and passes the Romulan ship within ten meters, firing at the same time. The Romulan ship is heavily damaged already. "Do we got him ? Talk to me Bondini." "We got him sir." LT Walker wakes up and recognises the USS Silverado sickbay. He made it. Next to his bed is Captain Harrison, explaining to Walker that he has done a brave thing. When the young Lieutenant asks about the Romulans, the Captain gives him a full situation report. The Romulan warbird is heavily damaged. There are still Romulans aboard, most of them are in good health. LT Walker's ramming took the Romulan ship out, but the survivors can start their repairs. "Captain, we should take over the Romulan warbird and interrogate the crew. We could contact Starfleet Command for further assistance. Their could be other Romulans approaching. Something better not face on our own." USS Alice Cooper Star fleet Command is able to make a change in the deployment of the ships, covering the border with the Romulan Empire. The Cooper is free to go to Starbase 29. The journey takes almost two days, but the remaining crew of the USS Gondel has been brought to the Starbase safe. It is only when the Cooper returns the problems start again. The Cooper receives several messages from the fleet at the border that the Federations is invaded by a fleet of Romulan ships. The messages are very distrubing as it seems the Starfleet fleet is outgunned and outnumbered. As the Cooper is at least six hours away from the danger zone, it is possible Captain Skwyr and his crew will arrive to late. There is nothing else to do to inform Starfleet Command of the situation. "USS Alice Cooper. I am Commodore Trevors at Starfleet Command. Don't worry about those messages. Help is on its way and will arrive within 10 minutes from Starbase 29. Like I said. Don't worry about it. We will kick those Romulans out of our space. You will proceed to Romulan Space and do as much damage as you can. Those are your orders. Starfleet Command out." Before Captain Skwyr can reply the main screen shos the stars in space. The Captain is not the only one who can find this little talk with Starfleet Command strange. The entire crew knows that Starbase 29 is at least a day away and even the Cooper herself will need more than 6 hours to get to the battle. But then things get even stranger. A few operations officers report that they do not have any battle on sensors. Two security officers report they found some irregularities in the messages the Cooper has received. These messages are falsified and have a very small Romulan identification tag. It seems someone is trying to fool the USS Alice Cooper crew. But Captain Skwyr will contact Starfleet Command again and at the same time proceed to the danger zone to investigate while the Cooper waits for a reply from Starfleet Command.
