DS2 RPG General Status Report January 2001 General Message from The Federation Council The last two weeks we have received disturbing information that Romulan ships have invaded Federation space and have attacked Federation outposts and Starfleet vessels. The Federation Council believes that these Romulan actions are not organised by the Romulan Senate and the Council believes that there is some kind of conspiracy against the Federation to provoce the Federation into a war with the Romulans. As the evidence is only coming in very slowly some of the captured Romulans have already confessed they were handling without authorisation of the Romulan Senate. The Council needs hard evidence and facts to come to a final conclusion. The Council therefore asks all the help from all Federation citizens to stay calm and participate in peace in the Federation. End of Message USS Earth The message from the Federation Council is received by the USS Earth after almost two days as the USS Earth is already moving further away from Head quarters. Some of the USS Earth crew feel that they should return, but they also realise that this Romulan issue would be over at the time they will arrive. Another two supernovas have been detected. The USS Earth scientists cannot give any explanation for the phenomena, which seem to happen at random. "Captain. We are at the border of Federation space. If we would like to investigate further, we need to cross the Federation border into the Beta Quadrant." Captain Steichen realises she has to make the decision fast as the stars which explode could mean the end of the Galaxy. And the first signs of the destruction of the Galaxy already show. "Captain, we are receiving distress calls from a race called Hapidons, who live only 30 lightyears into the Beta Quadrant. Due to an upcoming supernova of their star, they are evacuating their home planet and they ask for anyone to help them." To show what the Federation is like Captain Steichen helps the evacuation of the Hapidons, but at the same time she also send out several fully configured probes to monitor the area during the evacuation. About 20 of the USS Earth top experts can continue with the research which has no impact on the evacuation. USS Giorko The Bajoran Voldara Mouvement offers three of its best men to help Captain Van Nieuwenhove get LT Ginu out of his cell as he is captured by the Bajoran security on Deep Space 9 without reason and in very suspicious circomstances. Only one hour later the three Bajoran terrorists accompanied by Captain Van Nieuwenhove and two USS Giorko security officers have disguised themselves as tourists and are on their way on the promonade to break into the security office to get LT Ginu free. But when the small group arrives at the security office they all see a security officer lying on the ground. Something is wrong and all six of them burst into the security office without any hesitation. But upon entrance they are fired upon. One of the terrorists is hit and falls on the floor, dead and that is the sign for the other two to get out and safe themselves. But Starfleet officers don't give up that fast. They know this is serious. Just when Captain Van Nieuwenhove plans to call for backup, a man looks around the corner. The USS Giorko security officers fire without delay and the man falls down heavily stunned. Quickly the security officers grab this man and drag him towards the Captain. The man is a Romulan. Now the three Starfleet officers realise that there is no time to waste. LT Ginu could be in serious danger. Without thinking, almost reckless, they burst into the complex with the holding cells and fire on the three Romulans who stand guard. The fight is over in a few seconds, with the Romulans on the floor. Only ten seconds later an entire platoon Starfleet Marines burst into the security complex of Deep Space 9. They are to late. The Romulans are down and Captain Van Nieuwenhove presents himself to Major Frank Latter, who is in command of the Marine platoon. The Major confesses that LT Ginu was indeed innocent, but LT Ginu had been a spy working for the Federation against the Romulans some years ago. The Marines had used LT Ginu as bait as they knew the Romulans would try to get him. LT Ginu did not know about this plan. He was not informed at all. Captain Van Nieuwenhove finds the methodes of the Marines disgusting and not according Starfleet regulations. But the Major is not easy to handle and he wants to interrogate the Romulans right away. But the Captain of the USS Giorko outranks Major Latter and at the end of the discussion the major only has a low defense for himself. "Oh Captain. What exactly where you doing here? And where is your uniform ?" But the Captain doesn't seem to like the Marine platoon leader. "In my free time I may wear whatever clothing I like. We were walking on the promonade when we saw there was something wrong in the Security Office." Although Captain Van Nieuwenhove is intimidated by Major Frank Latter and his marines, he calls the USS Giorko security forces gets the Romulans to the Giorko where they will be interrogated. This way he will also be in time for the rendez-vous with the USS Hawkeye. USS Thunderbolt Captain Mechels knows it is time to have a good look at the files his away team has recovered in Romulan space. To his big surprise there is a list of all Starfleet officers who participate in a conspiracy between some Romulan members of the Senate and the Federation. On this list are a few very honorable officers, including Admiral Mifang who is in command of Starbase 911. Upon arrival at Starbase 166, weapons fully charged and shields at maximum, the crew of the USS Thunderbolt have to see that the once so proud starbase is heavily damaged. But the USS Thunderbolt is not the only ship that arrives just in time. The USS Vertigo, Galaxy class and under command of Commodore Slater, the USS Lightning, heavily armed Defiant class, under Command of Lieutenant Colonel Crow, with an elite Starfleet Marine unit aboard and the USS Extender, Souvereign class, under command of the notorious Captain Docacil, arrive almost at the same time. And there are more ships on their way. The Romulans know their days are over and run like they have never ran before. Captain Mechels doesn't take any chances. He orders to go directly to Starbase 911 where the conspiracy is mainly located. Shuttle Explorer The trouble between the Federation and the Romulans is the last thing on LT CMDR Hendriks' mind. She has other business to take care about, like saving the entire universe. The Blue Cordions are very powerful and together with the Ghionds they find Jok rather easy. The Ghionds are able to catch Jok and put him in a special designed holding cell. Jok is brought to trial and a Ghiond judge will determine what kind of punishment Jok has to get. LT CMDR Hendriks is a whitness during the trial, and a very important whitness indeed. She explains about the Federation, how Federation officers found the interdimensional gates, designed by Jok and about the prison planet on which the Blue Cordions had been locked up and later set free by her and other Federation officers. It becomes clear during the Jok trial that Jok had plans to destroy the entire universe and that in a very sophisticated plan he can let every single star explode at random. Ghiond specialists, who have examined Jok's diabolical plan, come to the conclusion that even when Jok is locked up for ever or even terminated, the plan has begun and it is very difficult to stop. The Blue cordions volonteer to help, but they also explain it will be a huge task to stop Jok's plan of destroying stars. It will take time, lots of time, and in the mean time stars will keep exploding. The Ghiond judge finds Jok guilty. One of the Blue Cordions take LT CMDR Hendriks back to Federation space. This one Blue Cordion will stay with LT CMDR Hendriks. All the others will do everything to keep the stars from exploding and this way safe the universe from Jok's plan. USS Vertigo Day 27, 22.39 The USS Vertigo arrives at Starbase 166. The USS Lightning, USS Thunderbolt and the USS Extender arrive almost at the same time. More ships are on their way. Day 27, 23.01 The Romulan ships flee from the battle. Day 27, 23.08 Commodore Slater has been informed by Chief of Operations Commander Lex Harding, that the USS Thunderbolt has left the region and has set course to Starbase 911: reason unknown. USS Lightning Upon arrival at Starbase 166, the crew of the USS Lightning have to see that the once so proud starbase is heavily damaged. But the USS Lightning is not the only ship that arrives just in time. The USS Vertigo, Galaxy class and under command of Commodore Slater, the USS Thunderbolt, Defiant class, under Command of Captain Mechels, and the USS Extender, Souvereign class, under command of the notorious Captain Docacil, arrive almost at the same time. And there are more ships on their way. The Romulans know their days are over and run like they have never ran before. The USS Lightning will secure Starbase 166. LT COL Crow finds it more important than chasing the Romulans. He will personally accompany General Fujimori to make sure that hefinds Admiral Denver and to see to it that there are no further incidents. When the Admiral has received the files, then decisions can be made. USS Silverado The crew of the USS Silverado has taken 7 Romulan prisoners and downloaded the logs from the Romulan ship before destroying it. With this evidence a possible conspiracy should be exposed. Captain Harrison has asked for assistance from the nearest Starfleet facility, which is Outpost 71. LT Walker has some time to investigate the Romulan logs. He works closely with two Vulcan officers from the Science Department. The Silverado has set course to the outpost, but a few hours before Captain Harrison's ship arrives the Silverado is intercepted by three patrol ships of the outpost. Just as Captain Harrison decides to hand over the Romulan logs and prisoners to the Outpost 71 personnel, one of the Vulcan officers discover in the Romulan logs that Outpost 71 personnel has indeed conspired with the Romulans. LT Walker is just in time to prevent Captain Harrison to give up the evidence to the outpost personnel. LT Walker who is in charge of the investigation has an ingenious and daring plan: "Captain, I know of a way to investigate Outpost 71. We still have that cloaking device we took from that Klingon ship when the Baltons were on board. We could replicate them. It is dangerous, but there's a chance we can find something, that Starfleet doesn't know yet. I would need five cloaking devices. With a team of five Vulcans and myself, we split up in teams of three, keep an open com channel. Sonak and Selak know the outpost, and so do I. We were at the outpost three years ago." Captain Harrison taps LT Walker on his shoulder. "Make it so Lieutenant." USS Alice Cooper Only a few hours away from what is presumed a battlezone, the Alice Cooper sensors detect no violent activity whatsoever. The ships of the fleet, patrolling the border, are still in the same positions as before. A few ships have reinforced the Federation border fleet of 59 ships. When the Cooper arrives and positions herself on her previous location, Captain Skwyr is welcomed by Admiral Jonathan Grosse, who is now in command of this fleet and who is aboard the USS Enforcement. The Admiral informs Captain Skwyr that they has not been any Romulan activity on the Federation side of the border. Any Romulan ship which would try to pass, would be detected immediately. But at the other side of the border in Romulan space already 17 Romulan vessels have assembled. Captain Skwyr and his crew realise now that the messages they have received earlier must have been falsified indeed and the Captain of the USS Alice Cooper reports their findings to Admiral Grosse. The reply of Admiral Grosse doesn't take long, but is addressed to the all of the 59 Starfleet vessels. Incoming Message From Admiral Jonathan Grosse To the 1st Romulan Border Fleet Attention all. We have all received message about a conspiracy against the Federation. Some of our vessels, including my own, have received fals messages, engineered by the Romulans. We also received reports from the USS Lightning, USS Thunderbolt, among other ships which have been in Romulan space shortly before this conflict, that the Romulan Star Empire stands at the beginning of a civil war. We believe that some of the Romulans are trying to drag the Federation into this internal Romulan conflict. The only way to find out the truth about the Romulan intentions, is to send a ship into Romulan space. I have been authorised by the Federation Council to send one ship into Romulan space to investigate. The Romulan Senate has agreed to let one ship, but only one, into their space. The Romulan Senate had to agree to this proposal as several Romulan ships have been active in agressive actions in Federation space. The Romulan Senate is aware of this activity, but claims that they have no control over these renegade traitor ships. The Romulan Senate did not confirm, nor deny, that there is a Romulan civil war. End of Message DS2 RPG General Status Report February 2001 Starfleet News Flash There are two issues in the Federation Council at the moment. One of them is that Starfleet Officers have conspired with the Romulan Empire to start a war, and the other is even more important...the destruction of the universe. Although the situation is grim, politics are still politics and a fraction of the Federation Council wants a Starfleet Officer by the name of LT CMDR Hendriks to stop interfering in the course of events. They even blame LT CMDR Hendriks for the desperate situation the Federation is in and demand a trial. More and more it is clear that a certain Jok is still working to destroy the Universe. Although old friends of the Federation, the Blue Cordions are helping as much as they can, Jok is still not captured. End Starfleet News Flash USS Earth The USS Earth has set course to the home planet of the Hapidons. Although the evacuation limit of the USS Earth is about 5000 people, Captain Steichen decides to double the number of Hapidon refugees that she will take aboard her ship. Neighbouring races of the Hapidons who are not threatened by the upcoming supernova of the Hapidon star, like the Dornams and the Baldurs, have send almost all their ships to help with the evacuation. But after two rides, it is clear to the USS earth crew that there is no way, the Hapidons can evacuate the entire planet and move their population to a safe uninhabited starsystem, where the Hapidons have started colonization only six months ago. But USS Earth Chief Engineer LT CMDR Sora Mil and Chief of Security LT CMDR Ulo Hung have an idea which could safe at least a part of the Hapidon population which has to stay behind and the Hapidon planet. The idea is to fire torpedos with a trilithium warhead into the Hapidon star. The trilithium is a good nuclear inhibitor and could neutralize the supernova. The only problem is that there is only two hours time left and the second problem is that if the attempt is unsuccessful, the USS Earth will be so close to the Hapidon star that the ship will be destroyed by the supernova. Captain Steichen is convinced there is no other way than to fire the trilithium torpedos into the Hapidon star at close range, even when she could bring her ship and crew in danger. USS Giorko USS Giorko Chief of Security: LT Jonathan Yell is in charge of the interrogation of the Romulan spies who have been captured by the USS Giorko crew on Deep Space 9. Although heavy protest of a certain Starfleet Marine Major Frank Latter, the Giorko has set course to rendez-vous with the USS Hawkeye. When Captain Van Nieuwenhove and his crew arrive an hour early at the rendez-vous coordinates the USS Hawkeye is still on her way. As soon as the Romulans hear about the coming of the USS Hawkeye, they seem to relax. LT Yell is very intreged by the reaction of the Romulans. Conspiracies seem to be everywhere. The question is whether Captain Van Nieuwenhove can trust the USS Hawkeye crew. The behaviour of the Romulans is indeed suspicious. One of the Betazoids aboard the USS Giorko states that the Romulan prisoners seem to be happy that the USS Hawkeye is on the way to rendez-vous with the USS Giorko. Although the suspicious behaviour of the captured Romulans Captain Van Nieuwenhove orders to rendez-vous with the USS Hawkeye as planned. USS Thunderbolt The USS Thunderbolt is racing against time towards Starbase 911. By now everyone on Starbase 911 knows about the conspiracy and especially the conspiritors know Starfleet has discovered them. But the battle has not yet been fought. When the Thunderbolt arrives at Starbase 911, two Romulan warbirds are waiting. They are not even cloaked. The Romulans do not ask any questions, but seem to be determined to defend the Starbase. Just before the Thunderbolt is in sensor range of the Romulan ships at Starbase 911, Captain Mechels is contacted by Commodore Slater, in command of the USS Vertigo, with the message to stand fast. The Vertigo is right behind the Thunderbolt, followed by the USS Extender, under command of Captain Docacil. The Thunderbolt will continue alone to Starbase 911. There is no time to lose although the crew of the Thunderbolt and the Captain are beginning to get exhausted. Shuttle Explorer LT CMDR Hendriks has informed Starfleet Command about Jok's plan to destroy the universe. She will try to find a way to protect the Federation and try to find a way to stop the stars from exploding herself. The Federation has some serious technology, and maybe it could help. But there are two issues in the Federation Council at the moment. One of them is that Starfleet Officers have conspired with the Romulan Empire to start a war, and the other is even more important...the destruction of the universe. Although the situation is grim, politics are still politics and a fraction of the Federation Council wants LT CMDR Hendriks to stop interfering in the course of events. They even blame LT CMDR Hendriks for the desperate situation the Federation is in and demand a trial. In the mean time the Blue Cordions have been successful in securing a part of the universe from Jok's devestating plan, but the Federation and the home galaxy of LT CMDR Hendriks are not yet included in this secured part of the galaxy. The Ghionds are on their way to close their net on Jok. But capturing Jok will still take time... At this time the Blue Cordions offer LT CMDR Hendriks the option to join them and become a Blue Cordion herself. USS Vertigo Day 27, 23.10 The USS Vertigo is in pursuit of the USS Thunderbolt, followed by the USS Extender Day 28, 01.26 Commodore Slater promotes Ensign Matz to Lieutenant and she is given the position of Assistant Chief of Security. LT Matz will come up with a plan to stop the conspiracy between Romulans and Federation officers Day 28, 01.34 The USS Vertigo contacts the USS Thunderbolt to inform Captain Mechels the Vertigo and the Extender are on their way to catch up USS Lightning LT COL Crow accompanies General Fujimori to Admiral Dencer on Starbase 166. On their way both Marines notice that Starfleet security officers have fought against Romulan invasion troops, sometimes even man to man and hand to hand. In som of the corridors there are four, five or even more Romulan soldiers on the floor, dead. It is clear that the Romulans have boarded the Starbase, but the defending security officers have blocked their attacks and have retaliated. The Romulan invasion was a failure. When the General and Crow arrive in Admiral Denver's office, the Admiral is already coordinating a search for more centers of conspiracy between the Federation and the Romulan Empire. Admiral Denver is overjoyed to see his old friend, General Fujimori, and his happiness even increases when he reads the files given to him by LT COL Crow. Reading the files it becomes clear that the conspiracy is concentrated on Starbase 911, but even on Earth and on Starbase 001 there are Romulan spies. But Admiral Denver and Genral Fujimori are determined to end this conspiracy. At this moment General Fujimori turns to LT COL Crow. "Colonel. I want you to go into Romulan space and investigate how the Romulans feel about this situation. There is no dishonor if you do not accept this mission and I will not make this an order. If you don accept you have to take me to sector 001." But Admiral Denver also has an idea and Genral Fujimori agrees that LT COL Crow and his team are able to handele that job. "Colonel. One of the Starbase 166 security officers, LT Blackadder, has vital information about the Romulan invasion and conspiracy. LT Blackadder is actually a Starfleet intelligence officer and resorts directly under the authority of the Chief of Staff of the Commander in Chief. You can bring him to Starbase 747." LT COL Crow doesn't have much time to decide and cannot do all three things at the same time. He is the one who has to decide what could be most important. USS Silverado While Captain Harrison talks to the Captain of the leading vessel of Outpost 71, he gains time for LT Walker and his Vulcan team to prepare for an undercover mission on Outpost 71. USS Silverado Chief Engineer has enough information to transport the team one by one through the Outpost's shield window. Each team member has exactly 23 milliseconds to be beamed through this shield window. When everything is ready LT Walker is transported first to an empty cargobay of Outpost 71. The biggest fear of the Silverado crew is that the intruder alert will be activated, which will give the undercover team less time, but LT Walker's cloak is working perfectly and as his biosigns are masked, the alert is not activated. Exactly 21 seconds later there is another window in the outpost shields and Sonak materilises a few meters from LT Walker. One by one the Vulcan officers of the Silverado team are transported. Now the actual work begins. First of all the team may not be detected...and they are not. When the team arrives at the primary power generator they all spot three Romulan officers, working together with two Starfleet officers. It is very clear that the Starfleet officers are not hostages of the Romulans in any way. In fact, the Starfleet officers are ordering the Romulans what to do. LT Walker Has found a way to communicate with the USS Silverado, using a masked carier wave. His first report is a bit disturbing. "Walker to Silverado. We are proceding towards the upper sections. Captain, nothing seems different, than any other station. It looks perfect. I tell you this, they look too much alike. I can't put my finger on it, but the crew of the station works too much like the Romulans do." USS Alice Cooper The Alice Cooper crew hears about the battles at both sides of the Romulan borders. Captain Skwyr awaits the biggest decision in his carreer. He can enter Romulan space, risking a full scale war or wait at the border. DS2 RPG General Status Report March 2001 USS Earth At exactly 19.30 hours the USS Earth approaches the Hapidon star. On the command to fire the trilithium torpedos, LT CMDR Ulo Hung at tactical pushes the fire button. The torpedos find their way to the Hapidon sun and detonate at the correct time, just as the Hapidon star is going supernova. The tension on the USS Earth bridge is rising when nothing happens. There is no second chance. even with shields at maximum the USS earth will never survive a supernova... Then totally unexpected the Hapidon star implodes and the supernova is prevented, but without their sun the Hapidons cannot survive on their home planet. The Hapidon ships can resume the evacuation. A total evac will take at least a few days and life support units are brought to the surface for the waiting Hapidons. More and more neighbouring systems offer their help and the evacuation of the Hapidons increases. After the evacuation is completed, Captain Steichen of the USS Earth is given an Hapidon artifact during a ceremony on Jura III, for her help and courage of her and her crew. Jura III will be the new homeplanet for the Hapidons. The artifact is called Gumu and is the God of Safe Journeys according the old Hapidon legends. After the huge party it is time for the USS Earth to continue her voyage... Only 7 hours later already far away from the Hapidons and their new home, the USS Earth long range sensors are picking up weapons firing...deeper into the Beta Quadrant. Captain Steichen orders to set course to the coordinates to investigate the weapons fire. USS Giorko The USS Giroko and the USS Hawkeye have a rendez-vous at the designated coordinates. Unknown to the Giorko crew, is that the USS Hawkeye under command of Captain Tolman is the flagship of the Romulan-Federation conspirators. Captain Tolman send four officers over to the Giorko to great Captain Van Nieuwenhove. But Chief of Security LT Jonathan Yell doesn't trust any of the USS Hawkeye officers and during the transport he is able to neutralize their weapons. The four USS Hawkeye officers are beamed aboard heavily armed, but their weapons don't work when they arrive aboard the USS Giorko. The only few USS Hawkeye crewmembers aboard the USS Giorko, have no way to defend themselves and are captured very fast. They do not stand a chance against the well organised security officers of the USS Giorko who were waiting and ready. But Captain Tolman is not giving up easily and attacks the USS Giorko although there are USS Hawkeye crewmembers aboard the USS Giroko. It is clear Captain Tolman wants nothing else than the destruction of the Giorko. But Captain Geert Van Nieuwenhove has already ordered to raise the shields. The Giorko is fatser and more maneuvrable than the Hawkeye and has therefore a possibility to escape from battle. But Captain Van Nieuwenhove has also superior firepower... Captain Van Nieuwenhove uses the prefix code to disable the shields of the USS Hawkeye and orders to beam the hawkeye's crew to the brig of the Giorko, Then he sends an away team to take over the Hawkeye. The away team starts repairs and the USS Hawkeye is escorted to Starbase 29, the nearest starbase. USS Thunderbolt Only a few moments of rest and the crew of the USS Thunderbolt is on red alert. "All hands to battlestations, we are approaching Starbase 911." But there is something strange going on. As soon as Starbase 911 is in the Thunderbolt sensor range, Chief of Operations LT Leeloo Brussels reports that there are no life signs on the starbase and all power is off line. Captain Mechels can only order to have a closer look and his ship continues on her way to the starbase. But Captain Mechels is not a complete fool and keeps his ship out of weapons range of the starbase. But nothing happens. No ship is launched from spacedock, no communication and there is still no power on Starbase 911. The USS Vertigo contacts the Thunderbolt. The Vertigo and USS extrender are on their way to Starbase 911 as well and are only an hour away, but Commodore Slater, in command of the Vertigo grants Cpatain Mechels to do whatever he sees as the right course of action. The conspiracy of the Romulans with Federation officers has to end as soon as possible. Captain Mechels orders LT Leeloo to board Starbase 911 with an away team. Shuttle Explorer A possible trial awaits LT CMDR Hendriks, but she is far away from any control of any Head Quarters, so she has some freedom of choice... But Jok hasn't been captured yet and he continues his wrath. There are still stars exploding. The first victims have been killed in the Yupano System in Galaxy M-129, when the star of thier system went supernova. The inhabitants of the Yupano System did not have a chance. The Blue Cordions are doing everything they can, but there are not enough of them to stop Jok's actions. It is still unknown how Jok does this. How can Jok strike at any star in the universe. But the Ghionds are also looking for Jok. They believe Jok must be very close and that he makes every move from one location. LT CMDR Hendriks pilots her ship around nearby planets of the Ghiond System, hoping she can locate Jok. But she has no success. In the mean time more and more members of the Federation Council are blaming LT CMDR Hendriks and the Blue Cordions to be the cause for this entire problem. Without reason and with lots of luck the Shuttle explorer sensors detect a signature of the DNA of Jok on the third planet of the Ghiond System. LT CMDR Hendriks doesn't wait and transports down to the coordinates. She finds herself with three Blue Cordions and three Ghiond security officers in an open field. In the field next to a small building there is a gateway, just like the one on Baldhom. The small group is to late to capture Jok. He has just jumped through the gate... At the same moment one of the Blue Cordions reports to LT CMDR Hendriks that she is ordered to return to Head Quarters... USS Vertigo Day 29, 16.33 LT Matz has downloaded all communications with Starbase 911, which is clearly the center of the Federation-Romulan conspiracy. LT Matz reports to her commanding officer, Commodore Slater with the list of Federation ships involved in the Federation-Romulan conspiracy, based on her findings. Day 29, 22.16 The list of Federation facilities, involved in the Federation-Romulan conspiracy is send to all federation facilities and ships: USS Hawkeye, USS Sarona, SS Zopat, Outpost 71, Outpost 14, Starbase 911. Day 30, 01.28 CO of the USS Vertigo, Commodore Slater contacts the USS Thunderbolt, which has arrived at Starbase 911, and grants Captain Mechels in Command of the Thunderbolt authority to act any way to solve this conspiracy fast. USS Lightning LT COL Crow has accepted a secret mission into Romulan space. The marine unit will go under cover to investigate what exactly is going on in Romulan Space. As soon as the USS Lighting departs the ship is ordered to directly to Starbase 9, where there is a Romulan scoutship ready to be used. Starfleet troops have captured the Romulan ship and it can now be used for LT COL Crow's mission. As soon as Crow's team have departed, the captured Romulan ship sets course to Romulan Space. Crow and his team have given the Romulan ship a new name: USS Lightning. After a short voyage the Neutral Zone is in sight and only a few moments later the new USS Lightning is cloaked in orbit of the first planet on the way of the Starfleet Marines. USS Silverado Captain Harrison has received the first report from LT Walker. The USS Silverado Chief of Security and his team of Vulcan officers work very efficient and come the the conclusion that the Romulans and the Starfleet officers are working together on a new cloaking device. LT Sonak can decode some of the files of Outpost 71, only to find out that the Romulan and Starfleet officers are working together to develope a new kind of cloaking device, a phase cloaking device. The developement of this kind of device will change the tactical balance in the Alpha quadrant. Aboard the Silverado, Captain Harrison has his own problems. He can't stall the ships of Outpost 71 much longer All of those ships have raised shields and powered up weapons. Captain Harrison has no choice but raise his shields. He knows the Outpost 71 ships are outnumbering the Silverado, but if it comes to a battle, the Silverado has more tactical advantage and is sure to survive. The Captain informs LT Walker that time is running out and that he has to return to the Silverado. Just at the moment LT Walker acknowledges the message from his Captain, the silverado undercover team is discoverd, more due to a lot of luck and coincidence. The team finds itself completely surrounded by Romulan and Starfleet officers, armed to the teeth. USS Alice Cooper Only a few hours away from what is presumed a battlezone, the Alice Cooper sensors detect no violent activity whatsoever. The ships of the fleet, patrolling the border, are still in the same positions as before. A few ships have reinforced the Federation border fleet of 59 ships. End of Message Captain Dok Skwyr's First Officer, Senior CMDR Ray Kalee volonteers to open diplomatic talks with the Romulans, or, go into Romulan Space disguised as a Romulan to find out from Ambassador Spock what's going on. Before the Alie Cooper-B, Ray was an accomplished Ambassador who knew Spock personally. Dok objects to both ideas, but agrees to send Ray's suggestions and ideas to Starfleet Command. DS2 RPG General Status Report April 2001 USS Earth "Captain. We are one hour away from the coordinates. Multiple ships are engaging eachother. It is not entirely clear who is who. It is possible this is a civil war Captain. Their weapons and defenses are no match for us. We are perfectly safe." The USS Earth approaches what seems to be a battle between two species. Their technology is almost equal and there is no reasonable prediction of the outcome of this war. As the approach of a Galaxy-class ship cannot be unnoticed by the less sophisticated, fighting, fractions. The fighting stops and both sides contact the USS Earth and ask why this ship has come to their region of space. After the ususal formal introductions the two species introduce themselves as the Palons and the Mups, insect-like species who are fighting a war for already 7 days, because they suspect eachother to have used secret weapons to let one of the nearby stars explode, changing the gravity of the neighbouring systems. It becomes clear to the Palons and the Mups that there is neither of them responsable for doing such an act. Captain Steichen shares whatever knowledge she has about Jok and the gateways and the stars exploding into supernovas. The Paolons as well as the Mups realise they have been both wrong and join together for a huge peace party. The USS Earth crew is invited. As the Palons and Mups have listened intens to Captain Steichen's explanation of what happened to several stars already, one of the Mups very old high priests remembers some kind of structure described by Captain Steichen as a gateway on a planet in a system only a few lightyears a way. During the next USS Earth senior staff meeting LT CMDR Ulo Hung reports, communications with Starfleet Command will take twelve days before an answer is expected... Although communications with Starfleet Command will be more and more difficult, Captain Steichen decides to extend the voyage into the Beta Quadrant and try to find the planet where the gateway is located...while looking for the gateway, the USS Earth sends a message to SFHQ with a status update USS Giorko As soon as the USS Giorko and USS Hawkeye arrive at Starbase 29 the Hawkeye is abandoned by the officer of the Giorko, temporary operating on the Hawkeye. After the reports of Captain Van Nieuwenhove, it is clear that the conspiracy of the Romulans and Federation is limited to the USS Hawkeye, USS Sarona, SS Zopat, Outpost 71, Outpost 14, Starbase 911. But the end of this conspiracy is coming to an end in Federation space and the crew of the USS Giorko has received a commendation for their excellent work in this matter. There is a new assignment ready for the Giorko. The ship will leave in 2 hours to the Manuth System. The science post has been silent for 48 hours. Chief Scientist, Lieutenant Commander Mn'ok is a very punctual officer and this silence is not his normal behaviour. Starfleet doesn't want to take any chances. The voyage to the Manuth System will take six full days and the Giorko crew has a lot of time to prepare for this mission. All kind of simmulations have been executed when the USS Giorko comes into orbit of Manuth, the only planet in the Manuth System. There is still no word from the science post, but there doesn't seem to be anything unusual, except for the fact that there are no humanoid life signs. Captain Van Nieuwenhove sends a security team to the science post by transport and at the same time he orders to scan the vicinity for ships, that might be present or has left recently. USS Thunderbolt LT Leeloo is in command of the away team entering Starbase 911. Fifteen security officers spread over the station, but the first indications are that there are no Starfleet Officers, nor Romulans aboard. Starbase 911 seems to be deserted. There is no other way than to search the station section by section and that will take time. As soon as Lieutenant Leeloo arrives at the Operations Center of Starbase 911, she can only report to the Thunderbolt that there is nobody present. according the logs of Starbase 911 the entire crew has left the station. Although Lieutenant Leeloo cannot exclude the possibility that part of the Starbase 911 crew is hiding on the station, sealed from any detection. Captain Mechels is contacted by the USS Vertigo and USS Extender. As they are not needed to assist the Thunderbolt any longer, the two ships change course to Outpost 14 to eliminate the conspiritors who are still active there. But Captain Mechels cannot stay much longer at Starbase 911 and with a limited crew of only 54, he cannot be sure to secure Starbase 911 for a long time. He also has a decision to make... After considering all the options, Captain Mechels orders to destroy Starbase 911. Shuttle Explorer Although her orders are different, LT CMDR Hendriks takes her craft through the gate, which is clearly one of those diabolical inventions of Jok. Aboard are also two Ghiond officers, Klona and Tira, and six Blue Cordions. The fate of the universe can depend on this. The small ship enters the gate, and at the other side it lands in a huge hall. This is clearly a structure of some kind. Sensors indicate this structure is five kilometers below the surface of the planet. The Ghiond officers recognise the coordinates of the planet immediately. It is their home planet. Sensors do not give an indication that Jok or any other living creature is in this structure. Jok is not a fool. He must have taken the time to escape, either through the gate or with other means, like a ship. The senior Ghiond officer, Klona contacts the Ghiond society on the surface. The Ghiond government decides to destroy the structure right after LT CMDR Hendriks and her compagnons have arrived at the surface of the planet. There are reports of Ghiond security that an illegal ship has left the planet. Jok is aboard this vessel. Ghiond ships have already been sent out in pursuit of Jok's ship. But the Blue Cordions report that Jok will be able to escape because the Ghiond ships wil be to late to intercept him. With the help of the Blue Cordions and Klona and Tira, LT CMDR Hendriks is able to catch up with Jok's ship. With one of the Blue Cordions she transports aboard Jok's ship. A moment later she points a weapon on Jok, who doesn't surrender easily... "So you finally caught up with me. Hahahaha. And you think you have won ? Hahahaha. The destruction of the universe is inevitable. Nobody can stop the process, once it has started, you stupid human. Hahahaha. You will let me go free, and I might consider stopping the process of the destruction of the universe. I will give you thirty of your Earth seconds to make your decision !" USS Vertigo Day 30, 04.34 The crew of the SS Zopat has surrendered to Federation ships, only a few hours after they have been exposed as conspirators. Day 30, 06.29 The crew of the USS Hawkeye has been captured by the security troops of the USS Giorko, under command of Captain Geert Van Nieuwenhove. Lieutenant Matz has produced a plan to take over Outpost 14 without to much casualties. Day 30, 09.17 The USS Thunderbolt crew has found Starbase 911 to be deserted. The Thunderbolt away team does not find any clues of what has happened to the crew of Starbase 911. The USS Vertigo and USS Extender set course to Outpost 14. USS Lightning The USS Lightning is on a secret mission. All information is classified... USS Silverado Outpost 71, a center of Romulan and Federation conspiracy. LT Tom Walker has been succesful with the under cover mission on the Outpost until his fellow officers and he are discovered by the Romulans. In a few moments Romulan guards are pointing weapons towards the USS Silverado officers. There doesn't seem to be any escape... "Gentlemen, it looks like we are outnumbered this time. Let's keep an open mind and voice, handle our situations as they occur. We surrender ourselves, any chance we can negotiate somekind of deal ?" Although LT Walker hopes for a better moment to occur and take it from there, the situation seems hopeless. The Silverado officers lay down their weapons and are now captives of the Romulans. The group walks through the corridors on their way to a prison... Meanwhile on the Silverado all hands are at battlestations and already one opponent has been disabled. Shields are holding at 72 %. But Captain Harrison was the best of his class at the academy. He knows where to hit his enemy the most. The USS Silverado enters the atmosphere of the planet, followed by the enemy ships. He orders to release as much torpedos as possible and use them as mines. The plan works and two of the remaining enemy ships are destroyed while another crashes on the planet's surface... The USS Silverado's success has immediate effect on Outpost 71. Most of the guards are called away to defend the outpost so only two Romulan guards remain to watch over LT Walker's group. One of those guards is carrying the weapons of LT Walker and his team members. Now here is an opportunity... LT Walker is convinced the time to act is now and has a good plan: His groups will takle out the Romulans. Once that is done, the group will split up in two teams, work their way up to Ops, taking every precaution necessary. Once They are in Ops, they have better way to secure the safety of the Outpost and the Silverado. "Sonak, see if you can find out, if we are the only prisoners on the Outpost. That's it, Good luck, and report back every 15 minutes. USS Alice Cooper Captain Dok Skwyr's First Officer, Senior CMDR Raz Kalee volonteers to open diplomatic talks with the Romulans, or, go into Romulan Space disguised as a Romulan to find out from Ambassador Spock what's going on. Before the Alie Cooper-B, Raz was an accomplished Ambassador who knew Spock personally. Dok objects to both ideas, but agrees to send Raz's suggestions and ideas to Starfleet Command. In the middle of the action Captain Dok Skwyr has received his final orders: retirement. It is uncertain how the Captain of the USS Alice Cooper feels, but he holds his head up when he transfers the command codes to his first officer, now Captain Raz Kalee. But Captain Skwyr does not leave the ship. He can't anyway, not in these difficult times. It is still uncertain what the Romyulans want and what this conspiracy is all about, but it is time to act. Entering Romulan space is considered a dangerous mission to say the least. Just as the Cooper senior staff is making plans of how to proceed, Commander Judy Skwyr sitting at the communications console, reports there is a message from Romulus from a certain Tolakek, speaking for Ambassador Spock. The message is in audio only and not very clear, but Captain Kalee recognizes Tolakek's voice immediately... "This is a message to everyone in the Federation who can hear me. Ambassador Spock is in great danger. We need evacuation. More information follows..." The message is followed by a set of coordinates. The coordinates refer to a planet called Polderok, close to the Romulus System, deep inside Romulan space. After consulting with Starfleet Command, the Alice Cooper has permission to do anything to save Ambassador Spock. The USS Alice Cooper crew volonteers to be the ship sent into Romulan space as per agreement of the Romulan Senate as refered to in the message from Admiral Jonathan Grosse to the 1st Romulan Border Fleet, while also waiting for another message from either Ambassador Spock or any other member of the resistance. Captain Dok Skwyr sends Starfleet acknowledgements of his final orders: retirement. He soon learns that there was a slight error in the transmission. His actual orders were a new assignment and promotion to the rank of Commodore. The new assignment is to replace Captain Benjamin Sisko (missing in action) as commander of Deep Space 9 and the new Federation representative/liason to the planet Bajor. Dok accepts his new assignement, but, still remains aboard the Alice Cooper, unable to leave until Starfleet can arrange transport for him to DS9. In the meantime he formally transfers command of the Alice Cooper to Captain Raz Kalmee, staying onboard in an advisory position. If Raz wants his help... Feeling quite honored about his promotion in rank and new assignment, he is still glad he doesn't have to leave the Alice Cooper quite so soon, knowing he'll miss those onboard, some having been close friends for nearly 40 years. Besides he wants to get to the bottom of the Romulan mystery and conspiracy going on. Eitherway he still looks forward to reporting for duty aboard DS9 as his wife of 40 years, Commander Pandria kin Panthor-Skwyr, serves aboard DS9. Meanwhile Captain Kalee realises he can't leave the ship disguised as a Romulan to meet Ambassador Spock in secret since his place, as the Alice Cooper's new Captain, is aboard his ship. However he still volonteers to open diplomatic talks with the Romulans as himself, sending Admiral Grosse a message in which he volonteers the Alice Cooper to be the ship sent into Romulan space as per agreement of the Romulan Senate. This way Raz doesn't have to sneek abut behind enemy lines. Now he can actually meet with the Romulans as a Federation representative and Starship Captain, meeting with them as himself. All the same Raz agrees to a proposal from his second officer and Chief of Operations, Commander Alice V.F. Cooper the 7th. Alice #7 proposes that he meet with Ambassador Spock and investigate what is going on on Polderok. Alice #7 suggests he uses one of the Alice Cooper runabouts, using the same chameleon effect built into the Alice Cooper he'd disguise the runabout as a private Romulan trader and go to Polderok posing as a Romulan. And since Alice #7 is half Vulcan, just as Ambassador Spock, he won't even need cosmetic surgery to pose as a Romulan. Raz agrees to Alice #7's suggestion especially after learning that Alice #7 once actually knew Ambassador Spock and even performed a Vulcan mind meld with spock. So Raz orders Lieutenant Commander Jelana Frankel-Stangya, the ship's Chief Engineer, to install a chameleon device into one of the Alice Cooper's runabouts. With her rather unique Tenctonese sense of humor, Jelana chooses the runabouit called "Karma Chameleon" to install the device in. Meanwhile Raz and Alice #7 go about creating a Romulan identity for Alice #7 as a private Romulan merchant should he be stopped by Romulan authorities while the Alice Cooper waits for any further communiques from Spock and his resistance movement. At the same time Raz waits for word from Admiral Grosse to see if the Admiral will agree to letting the Alice Cooper be the ship which will go to Romulus while Alice #7takes the "Karma Chameleon" to Polderok to meet with Spock once they hear again from the resistance... if they hear from the resistance. Even when they don't, Alice #7 still plans to go there ! DS2 RPG General Status Report May 2001 Incoming Message from Starfleet Command Admiral Joshua Leaping With succes of the fleet, we can now be certain that all Federation-Romulan conspiritors have been captured or eliminated. Currently Starfleet is investigating what exactly happens in Romulan space, as the Romulan diplomats do not answer at this time, Starfleet has contact with several Federation operatives. As long as the situation is not clear, supplemental patrols of Federation starships along the Neutral Zone will continue. End of Message USS Earth As the USS Earth travels further into the unknown territories of the Beta Quadrant out of Federation space the crew prepares for scientific exploration. Although no one knows exactly what to expect. Captain Steichen has had experiences with the space gates and the crew trusts her completely, knowing the Captain will guide them through this. Scientists aboard are very curious after reading various reports about the gates. Most of them should be destroyed, and therefore the scientists believe this gate could have an other origin or could have an other design. When the USS Earth enters orbit of the planet designated Oracle by the Mups high priests, scanning of the planet is executed at high rate. It is very soon clear that there is no life on the planet, except for some continental plant life. Only a few hours later a structure which could be the gate is detected and Captain Steichen herself transports down with two scientists and two security officers. First Officer T'Lok has expressed his objections that the Captain is going herself... After a successful transport the away team soon finds out this gate is a bit different than the ones found in Federation space not so long ago. This gate seems to be self suporting in power and destination. Whatever the scientists try, they cannot change anything about the gate, which seems to be fixed on one destination. Leading scientist, LT CMDR K'ron, explains to Captain Steichen that it is posible to walk through the gate and return safely. The probe they have sent through has indicated the destination of this gate is a small structure, in which several consoles of an unknown origin can be found. The probe is undamaged and there seems to be no reason to wait and go through the gate. One thing is for sure. First Officer T'Lok will strongly object if Captain Steichen decides to go through the gate herself... USS Giorko The USS Giorko is in orbit of the planet Manuth for almost a day. The security team, under command of Chief of Security LT Yell, has already been searching the science post on the surface for 14 hours, but did not find anything. Even the logs of the scientists do not reveal anything. Captain Van Nieuwenhove has ordered a new security away team to relief LT Yell and his team. The Captain does not give up easily. Those scientists have to be somewhere, especially somewhere on the planet. There has not been any indication of any ship or traces of any ship passing the Manuth system. Three hours later Chief of Operations LT Ginu reports he has found humanoid life forms six kilometers below the planet's surface. All of the scientists are accounted for and are in good health. There are a few problems though. There is a lot of interference from the planet's surface itself and it is impossible to transport down or get the scientists out. While the security team secures the science post, a senior staff meeting is called for. There has to be a way to contact the scientists or get to them. Chief of Security LT Yell suggests to use the ship's phasers to drill a hole into the surface. Through the hole transport is possible. If the energy output is set correctly there should not be any danger for the scientists. First Officer LT CMDR Cambrera has another idea. They should search the science post more thorough to find how the scientists got under the planet's surface. There is no telling in what kind of danger they put themselves into with hasty actions. The ship's doctor reports that the scientists are in good health. They must be at their location beneath the surface for at least a week, so it is very likely they have life support. And Chief engineer LT P'sok reports he has found evidence of a power source nearby the scientists location. Suddenly the US Giorko receives a strange message: "To anyone who ... hear this... This is Capt... Geert Van Nieuwe... of ... USS Giorko ...We are trapped in some kind ... anomaly... Avoid the Manuth Syst... at all cost..." The message repeats itself. After analysing the message, Chief of Operations, LT Latisum Ginu has only one explanation. The message comes from the future... Captain Van Nieuwenhove does not have a lot of options and decides to search for more data at the science post to find out what happened, the Giorko crew will set the energy output of the phasers correct and will transport the scientists through the hole and save the situation, if not get they will get the hell out of there and destroy the outpost. USS Thunderbolt The USS Thunderbolt find it a little strange to destroy a Federation starbase, but they also realise that they can't take any chances. There could be a thousand conspiritors on Starbase 911, hiding. Captain Mechels has taken the right decision. Unknown to the Thunderbolt crew a group of almost two hundred Romulans have hidden themselves on the lower decks of Starbase 911. Just at the moment they plan to power up the starbase again and destroy the USS Thunderbolt with the Starbase heavy weapons, Captain Mechels orders to fire all weapons and only ten seconds later Starbase 911 explodes... After examining the last sensor logs, the group of Romulans is indeed detected, only a fraction of a second and therefore the Thunderbolt crew realises that they would have been dead now, if their Captain had not decided to destroy the Starbase. Captain Mechels sends a report about the events to Starfleet Command and is commendated for his strange but also brave action. So there is a reason to party and the crew assembles in the mess hall for a banquet. The Romulan-Federation conspiracy is coming to an end as it is expected that Outpost 14, the last of the conspiracy centers will be taken or destroyed soon. So the USS Thunderbolt receives new orders to proceed to the Dyn System, where the USS Provence is in orbit of Dyn III. There are some disturbing reports coming from the USS Provence and the Thunderbolt is send to investigate. Upon arrival the Thunderbolt is contacted by the USS Provence, by LT John Bonn, who seems to be the last of the senior staff officers. In fact he is the last officer alive aboard the ship. "Thunderbolt... You must destroy our ship... I am the last one... Destroy this..." There is a loud noise and the contact is lost. Sensor scans indicate there is no other humanoid life aboard then LT Bonn. However there is an unusual amount of plant life aboard throughout the entire USS Provence. LT Leeloo Brussels reports she has a transporter lock on LT John Bonn. She is waiting for the Captain's orders... Doctor George Ceuster objects to a transport, unless LT Bonn is locked into a forcefield. The clock is ticking... Shuttle Explorer LT CMDR Hendriks will deny she received her orders in time and again she will ask for advice from Head Quarters. She will certainly not go back if she is threatened by Head Quarters. she has a meeting with the blue cordions and Ghionds and in the mean time she will keep Jok prisoner. One cannot expect one officer to judge these things all by herself. The Blue Cordions keep Jok prisoner. The first thing the Ghionds want to do is to execute Jok at the spot. Jok himself has not lost his confidence and repeats that when he is killed the process of the destruction of the universe will continue as nobody knows how to stop it. And he, himself is not planning to stop the process. So the dilemma continues. LT CMDR Hendriks is able to convince the Ghionds not to kill Jok. It is clear they all have to find a way to discover a way to stop the plans of Jok, and in the mean time take Jok out, without risking that the process of the destruction of the universe continues. One of the Blue Cordions suggests that he could enter Jok's body to find out what his plan is and how to stop it. But there is a danger to this. There is a huge chance that Jok wil not survive the infiltration of the Blue Cordion in his body. If Jok dies before the Blue Cordion can find out what the plan is and how to stop it, everything is lost. On top of her difficulties LT CMDR Hendriks receives orders from Head Quarters through one of the Blue Cordions: "LT CMDR Hendriks. You are ordered to return to Starfleet Head Quarters immediately and face charges of: disobeying orders of a superior officer, stealing Federation property and accessory to murder and the destruction of stars." There is no time to lose and LT CMDR Hendriks gives permission to one of the Blue Cordions to invade Jok's body and find out what his plan is and how to stop his plan to destroy the universe. It seems the only way that gives a reasonable chance... USS Vertigo Day 31, 12.02 The USS Vertigo and USS Extender on their way to Outpost 14 are intercepted by two Romulan warbirds. The Extender attacks immediately and destroys on warbird. The other warbird cloakes and dissapears. The USS Extender uses Tachyon waves to detect the cloaked Romulan vessel and when it is detected it is destroyed by the USS Vertigo. Day 32, 04.23 The USS Sarona, the last Federation ship of the Romulan-Federation conspiracy intercepts the USS Vertigo and USS Extender. Captain Ulker, in command of the USS Sarona, does not know the Vertigo and Extender crews already have received information that the USS Sarona is part of the Romulan-Federation conspiracy. The Sarona is trapped and there is no way out. Captain Ulker realises his plan has failed and puts the autodestruct sequence of his ship to action. The USS Sarona is destroyed. Day 33, 09.12 Last revision of LT Matz plan to take over Outpost 14 and capture the conspiritors. If Outpost 14 can be taken, the last Federation facility, involved in the Romulan-Federation conspiracy will be in Federaion hands. If the crews of the USS Vertigo and USS Extender succeed the conspiracy will be over and the Federation can concentrate on what exactly is happening in the Romulan Star Empire. But Outpost 14 is still a full day away and the Romulans who are still in Federation space could have united at Outpost 14 for a last attempt to provoke a war between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire... USS Lightning The USS Lightning is on a secret mission. All information is classified... LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 44934M: Seeing how important the mission is, I don't have the time to visit any planet and I want to go ahead with the mission. Because the quicker I have uncovered and see what is going on in Romulan Space, the better we can handle the situation we are in. So we go ahead and see what is happening. USS Silverado LT Walker's plan to take out the Romulans who are guarding his away team, works. There are only two guards left and they are knocked down easily. LT Walker's group grabs the Romulan weapons and split in two as planned. In the mean time the USS Silverado is back in standard orbit around Outpost 71. No other enemy vessels are detected. Captain Harrison opens a channel and demands the surrender of the Romulan-Federation conspiritors. The conspiritors know they don't have a choice as soon as they discover that the Silverado away team has terminated their Romulan guards, without to much trouble. At the same time the Romulans surrender and lay down their weapons the lower the shields of Outpost 71 and are beamed aboard the Silverado, directly to the holding cells. But there are a few Federation conspiritors as well, and they are not ready yet to turn themselves in. They know they will be court-martialled for treason. Trying to escape to the operations center of Outpost 71, they run into LT Walker's team and after a short struglle the Federation conspiritors are captured. They are transported aboard the Silverado which will bring the conspiritors to the nearest starbase, which is only three days away. Captain Harrison calls for a senior staff meeting and asks opinions of what to do about Outpost 71. The Captain looks directly to LT Walker who has been on the outpost himself... "We can put a science team on the outpost, and retrieve all data possible. Destroying the OUtpos is no option, Captain, we could cripple the Outpost by taking out the power systems, and place sensor monitor beacons thropughout the post for an intruder alert. We should report to Starfleet and ask that the nearest vessel in this sector patrols the Outpost when a detection takes place." USS Alice Cooper Incoming Message From Admiral Jonathan Grosse To the 1st Romulan Border Fleet Captain Raz Kalee, you have authority to use any means you see fit to accomplish the following mission. You will find out what is happening in Romulan Space. It is of the most importance that the Federation has information about the balance of power on Romulus. This could lead to another war, or to a long lasting peace. Good luck. End of Message As soon as Admiral Grosse has approved Captain Kalee's initiative, the Alice Cooper is on her way to Romulus and the Karma Chameleon proceeds to Polderok where Captain Kalee hopes to meet Ambassador Spock. The Alice Cooper doesn't experience to much difficulty to get to Romulus, but the Karma Chameleon is stopped several times by Romulan warbirds. Kalee succeeds in keeping his cover as Romulan trader and the Romulan military let him go, but the third time, another romulan warbird decloakes dead ahead of the Karma Chameleon. The warbird is heavily damaged and the Romulan Commander doesn't seem to be a man of words. He fires a torpedo which brushed past the Karma Chamelon's starboard bow... "I am Sub-Commander Tomal of the Warbird Gdaxton. You will surrender your vessel. We need al of your supplies. Your ship will be dismanteled for our purpose." Captain Kalee tries to tell Sub-Commander Tomal his cover stroy, but the Romulan soldier doesn't even care... Meanwhile the crew of the Alice Cooper discover there is a civil war going on between two fractions. One fraction supports the installed government and the Romulan Senate, and the other fraction supports a dissident Romulan Senator by the name of Ktolam. Ktolam is known for his support to the Unification Process, started by Ambassador Spock. It is Ktolam's fraction which is feeling positive to stay in peace with the Federation. The Romulan Senate has already found out that the Federation is conspiring with Ktolam's fraction. Once the Official Romulan Authorities have dealt with Ktolam's fraction, they will turn on the Federation... Incoming message from the Karma Chameleon Alice Cooper...Help... DS2 RPG General Status Report June 2001 USS Earth One thing is for sure. First Officer T'Lok will strongly object if Captain Steichen decides to go through the gate herself... But Captain Steichen is determined to find out what is at the other side of the gate and she will use the gate herself. She even orders the scientists and security officers to join her. At the moment Captain Steichen and her team step through the gate, First Officer, Commander T'Lok beams down an extra security team and a medical team with the orders to stay at the gate and intervene when Captain Steichen and her team are in any danger... In the mean time Captain Steichen and the two security officers proceed through the structure, followed by the two scientists, Doctor Carl Fernssen and LT CMDR Joly Ocker. The scientists are having a great time discussing the origin of this structure. But they have to admit to eachother that they have no clue whatsoever... Two corridors have been covered when LT CMDR Ocker reports his tricorder detects life signs, a few of them are humanoid and one of them is an actual human. The team hurries in the direction of the humanoid life forms and almost burst into a room where two man are standing, with weapons in their hands. Captain Steichen recognises a Blue Cordion and a Starfleet Officer. The Captain recognises the officer from a picture: LT CMDR Hendriks, the most wanted Starfleet Officer... Captain Steichen remembers an urgent message from Starfleet Command in which LT CMDR Hendriks was ordered to return to Starfleet Head Quarters immediately and face charges of: disobeying orders of a superior officer, stealing Federation property and accessory to murder and the destruction of stars. The message didn't seem to be important at the time, but suddenly it seems to be the most important issue of Starfleet history... On the floor there is a creature crawling as if he is in very much pain... USS Giorko USS Giorko Chief Engineer LT P'sok and LT Yell, Chief of Security, have calculated the phaser output to drill a hole in the surface of the planet Manuth, where six kilometers below that surface is a group of scientists, apparently trapped in some sort of cave. The drilling begins and is monitored by the engineers, but also by Captain Van Nieuwenhove himself, as the Captain is taking no chances. If something goes wrong, he will order to leave orbit immediately. The message received, apparently from the USS Giorko from the future, worries everyone. The line of history could of course be changed by doing something unexpectedly. But for the moment nobody knows what that could be. The drilling with the phasers has ended. There were no problems at all. The nine scientists are contacted and on their request they are transported aboard the USS Giorko. Although their situation wasn't that bad, they were trapped. Still they had full confidence that Starfleet would send a ship to save them. Captain Van Nieuwenhove, of course, wants to know what happened and how the scientists got trapped below the surface. The director of the science group, Professor Ludwig Wittgenstein, does not want to reveal anything about the experiments his group has conducted. The professor wants to contact Starfleet as fast as possible, because his group has found a breakthrough in this very important experiment. Professor Wittgenstein asks Captain Van Nieuwenhove for the use of the holosuit on his ship to continue what his group has started. It is necessary to get equipment from the planet Manuth. The Captain is very helpful of course and grants permission. But when only seven scientists have returned from the surface science station of Manuth, Chief of Operations LT Ginu reports that there is a temporal anomaly coming towards the USS Giorko. Captain Van Nieuwenhove has no choice then to leave two scientists behind on the planet Manuth and leave orbit immediately. His first responsability is his ship and his crew. But it is to late... Only seconds later the USS Giorko is trapped in the temporal anomaly. There doesn't seem to be a way out. Captain Van Nieuwenhove has no other choice than to send out a distress message: "To anyone who hears this. This is Captain Geert Van Nieuwenhove, in command of the Federation Starship USS Giorko. We are trapped in some kind of temporal anomaly. You must avoid the Manuth System at all costs." Captain Van Nieuwenhove has to try to find out more about Professor Wittgenstein and his experiments, maybe there is a clue of how to get out of this time trap. USS Thunderbolt Captain Mechels takes the word of LT Bonn aboard the USS Provence that it is necessary to destroy the USS Provence. The USS Thunderbolt fires three quantum torpedos and the USS Provence is destroyed. Only a moment later Captain Mechels orders to search the planet Dyn III for survivors. After discovering some coded logs of Captain Walter Mozarelli in command of the USS Provence, some things are more clear. The USS Provence seemed to have been invaded, but by who or what is not clear yet. That is all Captain Mozarelli's logs reveal. Apparently the crew fought until the last man, LT Bonn. CMO of the USS Thunderbolt, Doctor Ceuster, cannot come to another conclusion that there could have been some kind of epidemic aboard the USS Provence. That is probably why LT Bonn didn't want to be saved. He could have carried the sickness with him to the USS Thunderbolt. When the sensor sweap of Dyn III is halfway and the search continues, no other humanoid life is found on the planet, only plant life, not even one animal. In the mean time there will be a short ceremony for Captain Mozarelli and the crew of the USS Provence, especially LT Bonn, who could have been saved but he gave his life most likely to protect the USS Thunderbolt crew. But the mystery is not solved yet and when the sensor sweap of Dyn III is completed, even up to one kilometer below the surface, only plant life is found. LT Tomar, USS Thunderbolt Chief of Security, is still feeling bad about firing on a fellow ship and he suggests to send an away team to the planet to investigate. But Doctor Ceuster, strongly objects. He still believes there could be somekind of desease on the planet which was then brought aboard the USS Provence, which afterwards killed the entire crew of the Provence. He suggests to put warning buoys, and put Dyn III in quarantine. Shuttle Explorer One of the two Blue cordions enters Jok's body to find out how to stop Jok's plan to destroy the universe. Through the mouth of Jok talks the Blue Cordion explaining that G22 Radiation is spreading through the universe. G22 Radiation cannot be neutralised and the process is irreversible. The Blue Cordion searches the brain of Jok further and deeper, but if Jok knows how to stop this devestating process, he has hidden it deep into his brain. LT CMDR Hendriks has no choice. She has to finish what she started. Time is precious. Every hour a star explodes. The family of Blue Cordions spread around the universe can hold a star from exploding, but only one each. And there are not as many Blue cordions as there are stars in the universe. Suddenly the second Blue Cordion reports humans are on their way to this location. The Ghiond Security Guards grab their weapons and are willing to risk their lives to protect Jok so the truth comes out and the Blue Cordion can search Jok's brain further. They are ready to attack on LT CMDR Hendriks orders. Jok's appearance changes into a reptile like body and he crawls on the floor. He makes no sound. The Blue Cordion inside him still has to search half of Jok's brain... The humans almost burst into the room. The humans are Starfleet Officers and one of them is a Starfleet Captain. The Starfleet Officers look at Jok, crawling on the floor, apparently in great pain... LT CMDR Hendriks doesn't see an other option then to explain to the Starfleet Officers what is going on, so the Blue Cordion can continue the search in Jok's brain, but in the mean time she decides to have the Ghiond security guards stand ready. USS Vertigo Day 34, 08.17 The USS Vertigo and USS Extender arrive at Outpost 14 to clean up the Federation from any conspiritors. LT Matz invades the outpost through the waste tubes with a security team of 124 security officers assembled from the USS Vertigo and USS Extender. The security officers split up in smaller groups, but internal sensor systems of Outpost 14, detect the intruders and a man to man battle begins. Day 34, 08.49 Apparently the Romulans have build a torpedo launcher on outpost 14. The launcher fires a few Romulan torpedos at the Vertigo and Extender, but the shields of the Federation ships hold. Commodore Slater, in command of the USS Vertigo orders to stand fast and the notorious Captain Docacil plays with the Romulan torpedos and only receives on hit out of three due to his extreme evasive actions. The Souvereign-class USS Extender proves to be the top of the fleet. Day 34, 11.02 Risking her own life many times LT Matz leads the security forces to a victory. All conspiritors are captured or killed. Incoming Message from Starfleet Command Admiral Joshua Leaping With succes of the fleet, we can now be certain that all Federation-Romulan conspiritors have been captured or eliminated. Currently Starfleet is investigating what exactly happens in Romulan space, as the Romulan diplomats do not answer at this time, Starfleet has contact with several Federation operatives. As long as the situation is not clear, supplemental patrols of Federation starships along the Neutral Zone will continue. End of Message Day 37, 14.00 USS Vertigo Chief of Security Commander Lok is promoted to Captain and receives the USS Oslo to be his ship under his command. LT Matz is promoted to LT CMDR and is assigned as Chief of Security of the USS Vertigo. LT CMDR Matz first task is to inprove the weapon systems. USS Lightning The USS Lightning is on a secret mission. All information is classified... USS Silverado A few days later the USS Silverado is releaved by the USS Stage-Coach at Outpost 71, which gives the crew of the Silverado the opportunity to travel to Starbase 843, where the prisoners are delivered. The trial will not wait, but that is no concern for the Silverado crew. Captain Harrison grants shore leave of two days for every crewmember on Starbase 843. Two days later the Silverado is on a new mission, with a completely rested crew, the ship of Captain Jeffrey Harrison is ready for anything. Unknown to the Silverado crew they will need every idea for the upcoming mission, however far fetched. The Silverado is sent to the Kolana system to investigate whether the third planet of the system can be terraformed and later perhaps colonised. It seems like an easy mission... Six days later the Silverado is in orbit of Kolana III and the first scans indicate there is no life at all on the planet surface, but there is a serious amount of gasses around the planet, which could be altered in an oxigen-nitrogen breathable air. Chief Scientist Trot gets permission to transport to the planet's surface to take some soil samples. Trot's team will go only in environmental suits to protect themselves. After a successful transport Trot reports in, but his communication ends in the middle of his sentence. Whatever LT Walker and Chief of Operations LT Ktol try, the communication with the away team is lost. Sensors indicate there are no life forms on the planet's surface. Captain Harrison calls for yellow alert, and calls for a conference on the bridge. USS Alice Cooper Aboard the Karma Chameleon, Alice #7 decided to give Sub Commander Tomal a run for his money, taking off at full sublight speed on an evasion course. Heading out on a trajectory taking him away from Polderok Alice #7's main hope is to find a nearby asteroid belt where he can use the Karma Chameleon's chameleon effect to disguise the runabout as just another asteroid appearing to Romulan eyes and sensorsas just another chunk of rock. However failing that, if the Romulans manage to hit the runabout again, Alice #7 plans to use the chameleon effect to take a matter/anti-matter implosion aboard the Karma Chameleon, make it look like they succeeded in destroying him. At the same time he'll fire a photon torpedo on Tomal's ship, making it look like a stray fragment of debris hit the Romulan warbird, before jumping to warp speed. Once traveling at warp nine Alice #7 would bring the runabout around at a full 180 degrees and head back towards Polderok and Ambassador Spock. However having his doubts as to whether or not he can fake a matter/anti-matter explosion, wanting to also avoid launching a torpedo and possibly starting an interstellar incident Alice #7 would much rather just find and asteroid belt to hole up in. In the mean time on the Alice Cooper-B Captain Kalee is reluctant to give up the investigation on Romulus and orders the Alice Cooper-B to head out to rescue the Karma Chameleon., Contacting Romulus Raz infroms them that the Alice Cooper-B will be delayed in tis arrival due to a severe ion storm in the area. He has given CMDR Judy Skwyr fake ion interference during the communique to Romulus. Then, once that is done, Raz then orders Jelana to activate the Alice Cooper-B's chameleon effect, disguising the Alice Cooper-B as a Romulan warbird with Tal Shiar markings. Disguised as a Tal Shiar vessel Raz even has Judy patch the chameleon effect into their communications system so they can hail any Romulan vessels that try to interfere and pass themselves off as Romulan Tal Shiar agents on the bridge of a Romulan vessel. Raz's cover story will be that they are on a secret mission from the Romulan Senate ordered to maintain silent runningwith explicit instructions from the Tal Shiar high Command to open fire on any vessel, even Romulan, that tries to stop them, or, ask too many nosey questions. Although Raz originally wanted to proceed to Romulus he decided to rescue Alice #7 and the Karma Chameleon, instead, when remembering Starfleet's permission to do anything to save Ambassador Spock at all costs Raz is concerned about the risk to Spock's safety should the Romulans succeed in capturing Alice #7 alive and manageto torture Spock's whereabouts on Polderok out of him. Since Raz already learned the basic situation on Romulus -- The Romulan civil war and the fractions involved -- He sends this information back to Starfleet High Command and Admiral Grosse on an encrypted subspace com frequency riding piggyback on a public Romulan broadcast to avoid detection by the Romulan Authorities. -- An entertaining broadcast originating on Romulus heading for Romulan colonies on the Romulan/Federation border. While he's at it Raz also informs the Admiral of his plans to rescue the Karma chameleon, and why, before continuing with the mission to Romulus as per their agreement with the Romulan Senate. Captain Raz Kalee is hopeful that he can rescue both the Karma Chameleon, Alice #7 and Ambassador Spock while also successfully completing his mission on Romulus with the Romulan Senate. DS2 RPG General Status Report July 2001 USS Earth The situation looks strange enough, but Captain Steichen wants to talk to the Starfleet officer, LT CMDR Hendriks and let her explain her actions. Captain Steichen is aware that LT CMDR Hendriks is the most wanted officer of the Federation. LT CMDR Hendriks explains to Captain Steichen that the creature on the floor is Jok. Jok has initiated a plan that will destroy the universe by letting all the stars explode, one by one. One of the Blue cordions who has accompanied LT CMDR Hendriks has entered Jok's brain to search for a way to stop Jok's evil plan. All the other Blue Cordions have spread throughout the universe to protect as much stars as possible, but the Blue Cordions can only protect about one percent of all the stars. LT CMDR Hendriks asks Captain Steichen not to intervene. She points at a second Blue Cordion, who is flying around in the room. Suddenly both of Captain Steichen's Security Officers report to the Captain, their weapons are useless. Captain Steichen checks her own weapon. The weapon is useless. There is no time to think about this new developement. The Blue Cordion leaves Jok's body, which falls down... dead. The Blue Cordions have found the way to stop Jok's diabolical plan to destroy the universe. But there is a lot of danger involved. If one step of the procedure to stop Jok's plan is not correctly executed, the counter measures will fail and there will be no second chance. The procedure has to be executed by an animal called Uniol, which lives on the planet F-5. The animal can be trained and it will execute it's task exactly how it is trained. The Uniol is one of the few creatures, which cannot be in affected by the Cordions, so the training has to be done by someone else. Jok had prepared his plan well... USS Giorko The Scientists and Security specialists dig into the USS Giorko computer to find as much about Professor Wittgenstein and his experiments without Wittgenstein knowing anything about it. The investigating team has received orders from Captain Van Nieuwenhove to use any means ossible to discover how to get the USS Giorko out of the temporal anomaly. After a full day of searching some interesting data on Professor Wittgenstein is found. It seemes that the Professor and his science team is working on a device to alter time. Changing time is not exactly the 'way of the Federation' and Captain Van Nieuwenhove has more than one reason to suspect Professor Wittgenstein of using Federation resources for his own personal experiments. After confrontating Professor Wittgenstein with the data, Captain Van Nieuwenhove makes it clear to the Professor there are no secrets anymore. But the Professor doesn't want to cooperate. He doesn't say one word. After exactly 48 hours of being trapped into the temporal anomaly, without any warning and suddenly, the US Giorko is free. The temporal anomaly has dissapeared, as nothing has happened. The Giorko is back in orbit of Manuth. After checking the Federation time with Relay station 21-E, Chief of Operations LT Ginu can only confirm that the Giorko has been out of the time space continuum for exactly 48 hours. The two remaining scientists of Professor Wittgenstein's team who were left on the planet Manuth are picked up and locked up with the other scientists of Professor Wittgenstein's. During the next Senior staff meeting USS Giorko's First Officer Jose Cambrera expresses his concern. He believes the two scientists who were left on the planet Manuth had something to do with the temporal anomaly. And Chief of Security LT Yell doesn't feel comfortable to be a possible hostage of a mad scientist. But he also reminds everyone that Starfleet Command has sent the USS Giorko to Manuth to investigate this issue. So Strafleet Command should know about these temporal experiments, done by Professor Wittgenstein... Captain Van Nieuwenhove doesn't see another option than to lock up Professor Wittgenstein and his team and deliver them to the nearest starbase and destroy Professor Wittgenstein's base on the planeth Manuth. USS Giorko security transports down to the planet Manuth to place explosives. It is a strange mission, but it has to be done. Tempering with time cannot be allowed... Exactly one hour later the science complex of Professor Wittgenstein is completely destroyed and the USS Giorko breaks orbit to set course to Starbase 29. USS Thunderbolt Captain Mechels follows the suggestion of USS Thunderbolt Chief Medical Officer Ceuster to put Dyn III in Quarantine. What happened to the USS Provence is most unfortunate, but there was nothing else to do... Upon contacting Starfleet Command and reporting about the USS Provence, Captain Mechels receives new orders. "Captain Mechels. I am Admiral Kolothan Mi. as you probably have heard, there are stars exploding in Federation space without any reason. The star of the Torino System has exploded. But the only inhabited planet Torino Prime has survived the supernova of the Torino star, due to the extensive shielding of the planet. But time is running out on Torino Prime and we have already sent the USS Vertigo to assist. We cannot evacuate Torino Prime with only a few ships and therefore we must try to provide Torino Prime with power to win time for other ships to arrive. We even have contacted the Klingons to help. Good Luck Captain and please hurry. Kolothan Mi out." Without delay the Thunderbolt sets course to Torino Prime to assist the people on a planet that is almost lost. But unknown to the Thunderbolt crew, a microscopic organisme has attached itself on the ship. This organisme has escaped from the exploding USS Provence... After twelve hours the Microbe makes it's first victim. Ensign Gonzales is brought to sickbay with signs of psychosis. He wanted to attack one of his men in engineering, Crewman Joman, who has a broken wrist. Other Engineers grabbed Ensign Gonzales and brought both men to sickbay. USS Thunderbolt Chief Medical Officer, Doctor Ceuster is very concerned and reports to the Captain that he is afraid the same illness, which destroyed the USS Provence, is now going to spread on the USS Thunderbolt. The illness is not fatal, but it is clear now that this illness causes some kind of madness. And that madness was what destroyed the USS Provence. In the mean time the USS Vertigo has arrived at Torino Prime and has established a standard orbit. Commodore Slater orders his engineers to beam down with all kinds of power generators. Total power failure is immenent on Torino Prime, but Commodore Slater wants to gain some time until other ships arrive to assist. The USS Thunderbolt is only three days away from Torino Prime. Captain Mechels thinks he has no other choice than to return to Dyn III and find an answer to this mysterious illness there. Shuttle Explorer The Starfleet Captain presents herself as Captain Christine Steichen in command of the USS Earth. The Captain asks LT CMDR Hendriks what is happening, looking at the Blue cordion and the creature on the floor, apparently in pain. Captain Steichen is accompanied by two security officers and two scientists, Doctor Carl Fernssen and LT CMDR Joly Ocker. The Blue Cordion who is inside Jok, has not found any way to stop the destruction of the universe yet. The other Blue Cordion talks to LT CMDR Hendriks, using telepathy. "LT CMDR Hendriks, I have neutralized the weapons of those Starfleet Officers. I cannot risk that you, our Ghiond friends or my fellow Cordion in Jok will be hurt. My Cordion friend is almost at the sollution of our problem, but it will still take some time. Please be patient." LT CMDR Hendriks explains to Captain Steichen that the creature on the floor is Jok. And suddenly, without any warning, the Blue Cordion in Jok's body leaves the body. Jok is dead... USS Vertigo Day 39, 16.00 Commodore Slater, in command of the USS Vertigo receives orders to assist the population of Torino Prime. The Torino star has exploded, but due to extensive shielding the planet Torino Prime has survived. Day 40, 22.08 The USS Vertigo receives a distress call from the planet Torino Prime. The planet's reserves can produce power for only 14 days. Day 43, 10.06 The USS Vertigo arrives at Torino Prime and establishes a standar orbit. Commodore Slater orders his engineers to beam down with all kinds of power generators. Total power failure is immenent on Torino Prime, but Commodore Slater wants to gain some time until other ships arrive to assist. USS Lightning The USS Lightning is on a secret mission. All information is classified... LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 4226X1: Romulan outpost 352GH is located on a planet which is partly destroyed by the supernova of it's star and needs immediate assistance. As a true Marine we will rescue the refugees and try to help them in any way possible. I will place them in a containment field and go on with my mission. We will see what happens. USS Silverado With the Chief Scientist out of communication on the planet Kolana III, there are only a few options left. Nobody wants to leave the scientists on the planet and leave, so that is not an option. LT Walker presents a reasonable plan. "Captain, I like to take an away team down to the surface, using a shuttlecraft and another science team, scan the surface while remaining on board. There's a lot on the planet surface we don't know yet, maybe we overlooked something. Something that the scanners couldn't pick up." No one can offer a better plan. As there is still no contact with Chief Scientist Trot, Captain Harrison doesn't see any other sollution than to let LT Walker go. The life support units of the away team on the surface will only be able to function for 24 hours. A few minutes later LT Walker and a scientist called Jane Fonda are launching from the USS Silverado in a Type 10 shuttlecraft. Captain Harrison didn't want to risk more lives than necessary. As soon as the shuttle enters the atmosphere of the planet, Kolana III, communications with the USS Silverado become more difficult. But LT Walker proceeds. Thirty seconds later communications with the Silverado are lost completely. Another thirty seconds later, the shuttle, piloted by LT Walker is diving under the gas clouds. To his surprise and to the surprise of Scientist Jane Fonda, there is a livable planet under the gas clouts. The away team of Chief Scientist Trot is easily found. When the shuttle lands, LT Walker calls the scientists. They all seem to have a great time and find this planet extreme interesting. The shuttle lands closeby the away team, but Scientist Jane Fonda stops LT Walker from getting out of the shuttle. She thinks something is wrong here. Chief Scientist Trot is the most severe and serious person. This is the first time she ever heard him laugh. It doesn't seem right. USS Alice Cooper Alice #7 is able to evade the hunting Romulans and he doesn't need to play any tricks. It is a bit sad that the once so proud Romulan ships now are not able to stop a simple ship as the Karma Chameleon, which doesn't even need an asteroid belt to hide... But the Alice Cooper-B disguised as a Romulan Tal Shiar ship has more problems. The rebelious fraction see the Alice Cooper-B as a real Tal Shiar ship and several times the Alice Cooper-B has to push the envelope to escape several romulan ships of the rebellion. Apparently the Rebels who support the unification process, don't like the Tal Shiar very much, so Captain Raz Kallee has no choice but change the parameters of the Chameleon device and let the Alice Cooper-B appear to be the Romulan trader ship again. The changes have effect. Mean while the Karma Chameleon has it's own problems. After a few successful escapes, it seems the Karma Chameleon is drawn into a net of Romulan ships. Most of these ships are damaged and some can not claok and have a hard time to maintain warp speed. Alice #7 has used many tricks already but now the "playing dead routine" is a very honorable option. The chameleon device is programmed to show the Romulans an imploding Karma Chameleon, while the ship in fact will still be there trying to escape through a small gap in the Romulan net. On the Alice Cooper-B Captain Raz Kalee has a talk with Commodore Dok Skwyr of how to proceed after rescuing the Karma Chameleon... Alice #7 succeeds in fooling the Romulan ships and escape. An hour later the Alice Cooper-B and the Karma Chameleon reunite and the Karma Chameleon is docked on the Alice Cooper-B. New ideas are talked about during the next senior staff meeting, but during the staff meeting red alert is initiated. A Romulan warbird has decloaked at the starboard bow of the Alice Cooper-B. The Federation ship, still disguised as a Romulan trader is hailed by the Romulan vessel. "This is Senator Ktolam of the unification rebellion. We know who you are Starfleet vessel. We are offering our help, because we also need your help. We will excort you to Ambassador Spock, who is held prisoner in a Tal Shiar prison on Tort Prime. I must remind you that we are already well known to the Romulan offical government troops and the voyage to Tort Prime is going to be a rough one. But this is the only way to save our friend Spock." DS2 RPG General Status Report August 2001 USS Earth The Blue Cordions have found the way to stop Jok's diabolical plan to destroy the universe. LT CMDR Hendriks decides to follow the Blue Cordion's advice and of course try to save the universe, but she also asks Captain Steichen for advice. Captain Steichen outranks LT CMDR Hendriks. But LT CMDR Hendriks has already made up her mind. If Captain Steichen is against her actions, LT CMDR Hendriks will do things on her own. But Captain Steichen realises the importance of the situation and offers her help to LT CMDR Hendriks and the Blue Cordions. Although the help is appreciated, there is not much Captain Steichen and the USS Earth crew can do to help. There is only one thing they can help LT CMDR Hendriks with. She asks Captain Steichen to inform the Federation Couincil and Starfleet Head Quarters about what she is doing and that should stop all accusations and will prove that she is not the one who tries to destroy the universe. Captain Steichen whishes LT CMDR Hendriks good luck and starts her way back through the gates, just the way she and her team came to this alien place. Jumping through the last gate Captain Steichen's away team is confronted with USS Earth First Officer CMDR T'Lok, accompanied by a serious security force. T'Lok, who was making preparations to go through the gate, seems to be happy to say Captain Steichen and her away team members alive, although T'Lok is Vulcan... Captain Steichen briefs her XO on the matter while the other USS Earth officers transport back to the ship in orbit. Left alone Commander T'Lok advises Captain Steichen to destroy or at least disable the gate. The Vulcan USS Earth First Officer also reminds Captain Steichen what happened last time the gates were used by aliens. Maybe the crew of the USS Voyager destroyed or crippled the Borg Collective, but there is no way to be sure of that. The Borg could be able to use these gates as well. In the mean time the USS Earth scientists inform the Federation Council and Starfleet Command about what happened and the role of LT CMDR Hendriks in the entire matter. Captain Steichen herself doesn't do anything about the gate and orders to proceed with exploring this uncharted part of the Galaxy in the Beta Quadrant. USS Giorko Captain Van Nieuwenhove is surprised to hear that the Federation Council didn't know anything about Professor Wittgenstein and his temporal research. Admiral Benzo at Starbase 29, is waiting to investigate this matter further. The Admiral is absolutely sure that Professor Wittgenstein and his little friends will be sent to prison, if not worse. Upon arrival at at Starbase 29, it is Admiral Benzo personally, who welcomes Captain Van Nieuwenhove with an additional security team to take Professor Wittgenstein and his scientists into custody. When Professor Wittgenstein is grabbed and lead away he shouts: "I will get you for this Captain of the USS Giorko. I will never forget what ..." The door closes behind Wittgenstein and his mouth is shut as well. Maybe this is not the last the Federation Captain will see of Professor Wittgenstein, but it will surely take more than a few years before that will happen... During dinner with Admiral Benzo, the Admiral informs Captain Van Nieuwenhove with the latest news. "Luckily we have a ship in the neighbourhood, the USS Earth. The supernovas which are a threat to the entire universe will come to an end soon. The Romulans have retreated and that threat is gone as well. But, Geert, I wouldn't ask you here to come to dinner if there wasn't something I would like you to do for me. It is not for me, personally of course, but you know what I mean. Now before we continue, what I am going to tell you is just between me and you. Nobody else knows about this and it should stay that way. You cannot and may not tell your crew. Is that clear ? Good. Currently Starfleet Command is investigating all Starbase Commanders for their loyalty. It is a select group of members of Starfleet Security, who are doing these investigations, which are coordinated in San Francisco on Earth. These Security officers infiltrate in a Starbase crew and then work from the inside out. Yes yes, I know there are some of the Starbases which don't work as it should be, but Starfleet Security confuses loyalty and good command. They think that if some things go wrong on a starbase, the loyalty of the commanding officer is questionable. Every reasonable person can see that that is totally incorrect. One of the agents of Starfleet Security has already finished his mission here, so I have received a full report. I was very lucky this Security Officer infiltrated during a calm period. If he had executed his mission three months ago, I could have been court-martialed for some minor things. That would probably be enough to destroy my carreer. After the Federation-Romulan conspiracy, everyone in Starfleet seems to be a suspect. What I am going to ask you is to go to Earth and try to figure out who is behind this and why. They won't suspect you as you are not a Starbase Commander. I will officially send you to Dora II on a diplomatic mission, but you pass Earth on your way and you and your crew are just visiting Earth for a few days, like many other Starfleet vessels. If you accept this mission, be aware that if you are caught, you could be in trouble and there is nobody who can help you. I can only let someone do this who I can trust and who clearly is still doing things the Federation way. You proved that already many times. Oh yes Geert, I have read all of your files. But this mission is totally voluntary. There is no shame nor blame if you don't want to do this." Admiral Benzo puts his hands on the table clearly expecting an answer. Captain Van Nieuwenhove accepts Admiral Benzo's proposal and he sees already a few possibilities. He wants to make sure, while investigating, that keypersons of starfleet command have not been infiltrated by alien organismes or that section 31 isn't operating again. USS Thunderbolt Medical Report USS Thunderbolt: CMO Doctor LT George Ceuster A Microbe has taken over our lives. Not just some Microbe, but a Microbe that is not identified by the Starfleet Medical Database. I have had to start from zero, but thanks to what we know what happened to the USS Provence, we have a good idea of what to expect. So far there are only three victims. Three officers who are now confined behind a forcefield. It is unknown at this time, how many of these Microbes there are on the ship, but the Captain is going to send an away team to the planet Dyn III, where we hope to find some answers. In the mean time I am preparing my first test with an anti-dope. End Log An away team under command of First Officer LMT CMDR Els Antwerps, is transported to the planet. The away team members will take every precaution, including isolation and life support clothing. The first three hours there is nothing to report, but then suddenly without warning a small insect-like creature is attacking one of the away team members, without success. The precautions Captain Mechels ordered are working perfectly. One of the scientists, Lieutenant Shasha, is able to catch the insect and without delay the small animal is disected for examination. The insect is full of small one-cellular beings, attached to the animal's nervous system. With this new information, Doctor Ceuster is able to determine whether the three already infected officers aboard the USS Thunderbolt, are infected with the same Microbe. And they are. Now the only thing the Thunderbolt crew needsis to get these Microbes out of the ship and out of the infected officers. Chief Engineer LT Will Brussels comes up with a plan to adjust the transporter filters to remove the Microbe out of the victims. The three infected officers are transported to transporter room 2. The plan works and the three infected officers are back on their feet in no time. Now they know what they looking for the entire crew is mobilized to clean up the ship. every little spot, every corner is covered with an anti-dope and even two workbees are launched to clean up the outer hull. After 48 hours of a full decontamination process, the Thunderbolt is finally free of the Microbe. Now it is time to get the away team back aboard. Everyone aboard the USS Thunderbolt is overjoyed the ship didn't end up like the USS Provence. But then an alarming message comes from the surface of Dyn III... "Captain, this is Commander Antwerps. I think we found the cause of the Microbe sir. We found a cave, and in that cave there is a labratory. I suspect that this is some kind of bio-lab in which the Microbe has been created artificially. Sir, there are some bodies here. Apparently the people who created the Microbe were not fast enough to protect themselves. There are at least six bodies here. Scientist Lieutenant Shasha has determined that these people only died about a month ago at the most. And Captain... These bodies are Cardassian..." Captain Mechels orders the continuation of the investigate on the planet Dyn III. Shuttle Explorer The Blue Cordions have found the way to stop Jok's diabolical plan to destroy the universe. In a flash the Blue Cordions take LT CMDR Hendriks to a planet called Uni. It is this planet where the animal called Uniol lives. The Blue Cordions remind LT CMDR Hendriks tahht the Cordions cannot control the animal called Uniol. But they are informed that the animal called Uniol, will handle things according his instincts. The search starts. The planet is not inhabited, except for some animal life and a jungle of very colorful plants and trees. This planet looks like a paradise, but it is certainly not. After only five minutes a 6 meters tall beast appears from behind some old almost completely decayed structure... It is the animal called Uniol. USS Vertigo Day 43, 14.12 The USS King, the USS Endeavour, the USS Berlin and the USS Pelgrim have arrived at Torino Prime. The evacuation is now at full, while the starship engineers help ùmaintain power on the planet. Day 45, 19.23 More ships have arrived at Torino Prime. The evacuation is complete. The former Torino inhabitants are transported to an uninhabited planet of the Julo star system. The Torino population has been able to save two of their own space ships and some equipment, so they will need help.Last meeting with the population of Julo III, now the home planet of the Torino population. The USS King, will stay in orbit of Julo III to assist the population. Day 46 02.00 The USS Vertigo is resuming course to Galdemar II, for a diplomatic mission. Brand new Chief of Security LT CMDR Matz, is awakened by security. They have found a saboteur on the ship, trying to blow up the main engine. LT CMDR Matz alerts the Commodore and the investigation begins. The saboteur is a male of the former Torino System. He blames the Federation for interfering with the "will of the Torino Gods". The USS King and the other ships involved of the evacuation of Torino are informed. On the USS Berlin and the USS King, security also has captured a saboteur. The matter becomes very serious if the USS Pelgrim does not report in. The ship appears to be destroyed... USS Lightning LT COL Crow has accepted a secret mission into Romulan space. The plan was that the marine unit would go under cover to investigate what exactly was going on in Romulan Space. LT COL Crow and his team travel in a Romulan scoutship. Starfleet troops have captured the Romulan ship and it can now be used for LT COL Crow's mission. As soon as Crow's team has departed, the captured Romulan ship sets course to Romulan Space. Crow and his team have given the Romulan ship a new name: USS Lightning. After a short voyage the Neutral Zone is in sight and only a few moments later the new USS Lightning is cloaked. But six weeks later the Romulan Outpost 352GH is partly destroyed by the exploding star nearby. LT COL Crow decides to rescue the Romulans, but places them in a protected area of the ship. The Romulans are very surprised to see that Starfleet Officers are running a Romulan ship, but although they can't do anything about that they are happy they are saved, and don't make any problems. Two hours later there is a message coming in from Starfleet to order the team of LT COL Crow to return to Federation space. Almost all the questions have been answered and Starfleet now knows what is happening in Romulan space. Still cloaked it is easy for LT COL Crow to proceed to Federation space. Un their way the disguised Starfleet Officers drop of the Romulans on an inhabitable planet, providing them with some medical supplies, and a sub-space transmitter. The Romulans are even more surprised by this generous offer, and they gladly accept. A few weeks later the Romulan ship is docked at Starbase 117 and the crew can return to their own, home sweet home, USS Lightning, Defiant-class Federation vessel. They are all happy to be home again, but another mission is already awaiting. USS Silverado A shuttle of the USS Silverado, under command of LT Walker, has landed on the surface of Kolana III. The shuttle landed closeby a Silverado away team, but Scientist Jane Fonda stops LT Walker from getting out of the shuttle. She thinks something is wrong here. Chief Scientist Trot is the most severe and serious person. This is the first time she ever heard him laugh. It doesn't seem right. It is possible the gas has some influence on the away team, which is exploring the planet without any protection. LT Walker gives his orders: "Fonda, you are right. Scan the gas cloud and air for anything unusual that might effect the crew. Any chance for a surface sample to bring onboard. We are turning back to the Silverado, in fifteen minutes, get to it. Torak, as soon as we have reached orbit, contact the ship and inform them of our status." But LT Walker also contacts Chief Scientist Trot. "Walker to Tror, we are turning back to orbit and contact the ship for more assistance." Scientist Trot laughs aloud. "OK man, happy journey." There is most definitively something wrong with the scientists on Kolana III. They burst into a song called: "For he's a jolly good fellow..." Scientist Fonda has transported a sample of the Kolana III air and placed it in a secure container. Fifteen minutes later the Silverado shuttle is back aboard the mothership, where Fonda hands over the container to Chief Medical Officer Doctor LT Danny Williams. Only two hours later the doctor has found the cause of the effects of the air of Kolana III and already prepared an anti-dope. LT walker returns to Kolana III, with a medical team, and informs the scientists that an anti-dope has been developed. He transports the container with the anti-dope to a location closeby to the scientists. The infected scientists should take the anti-dope in two hours, or they will experience permanent brain damage. But there is one little problem. The infected scientist don't even think about taking an anti-dope. They all run away and spread around the area. USS Alice Cooper Senator Ktolam of the unification rebellion has contacte the USS Alice Cooper and offers help, but in return he needs the help of the USS Alice Cooper. The Cooper is still disguised as a Romulan ship... But is Senator Ktolam telling the truth ? Seeing himself as having no other choice in the matter, Captain Kalee agrees to accept Senator Ktolam's help, procceding to follow the Senator's advice. However Raz still has his suspicions concerning their new "ally's" veracity and orders the Alice Cooper-B to remain on stand-by alert. At the same time he orders Gav Tiral, Amice #7, and Commander Salgud Eerag, the ship's chief tactician and combat strategy officer, to come up with any effective counter measures should the Senator prove himself untrustworthy and the Alice Cooper-B is forced to fight, their backs against the wall. Senator Ktolam's warbird cloakes, but sends it's coordinates to the Alice Cooper, so the disguised Federation ship can still follow the Senator. After sixteen ours of travel without incidents, it is becoming clear to Captain Kalee, that the Senator is leading the Alice Cooper-B to a small system, with only one planet. The sensors of the Alice Cooper-B detect only a few small structures about two hundred meters under the ground. There are only about a hundred people... Romulans and Vulcans... Captain Raz Kalee is the first to beam down into the structures, accompanied by Commander Salgud Eerag and Commodore Dok Skwyr. A moment later the Alice Cooper-B away team is joined by Senator Ktolam and a small Romulan delegation. As Senator Ktolam gives a short tour of these top secret facilities, he tels the Federation officers, that this is the only thing that is left of the active unification program. There are many more Romulans who believe in unification, but they are not speaking aloud. The underground resistance only has this secret and camouflaged base. A huge political struggle has lead to a civil war in the Romulan Empire, many of the Romulans in favor of unification were killed and the current Ropuilan government is against unification and most of the senators are not in favor to say the least... And then Senator Ktolam stops talking. There is an older Vulcan standing in the way of the small group... Captain Kalee immediately recognizes the man. It is Ambassador Spock... Afer talking to Ambassador Spock it is clear that the unification dissidents are no longer safe. But there is still hope as some of the Romulan Senators support the movement already. But first things first. The Vulcans and Romulans have to be saved. Ambassador Spock and Senator invite Captain Kalee to take the 23 Vulcans on this secret base and bring them back to their home. The Romulans will go with Senator Ktolam so they will not be suspected of anything. Ambassador Spock will also accompany Senator Ktolam to continue his work... Plans are being made, but the meeting is interupted. Six Romulan warbirds are incoming. They will arive in 19 hours... DS2 RPG General Status Report September 2001 Message from the Federation Council: It is with extreme pleasure we can inform you that after several years of isolation in the Delta Quadrant the USS Voyager, under command of Captain Janeway, has safely returned home. The expertise of Captain Janeway and her crew on the Borg is of huge value for Starfleet. New technology will be studied and distributed to all Commanding Officers, Engineers and Tactical Officers. We do not only celebrate Voyager's return, but also a great step forward in technology, which will make sure the Federation will continue it's large task of exploring the Galaxy in peace and understanding with other cultures and civilisations. End of Message USS Earth New frontiers in the Beta Quadrant for the crew of the USS Earth and Captain Christine Steichen, but it seems that the next following sectors are not inhabited. Daily routine is don on the ship, but only the stellar cartographers are very happy. They have mapped sixteen M-class planets in sixteen days. That must be a record for the Federation. There is no bored crewmember yet, but there is clearly a moment of releave when sensors pick up four ships, which are only two days away. Two days later the USS Earth is surrounded by four warships of the Kni, a reptile like race. The Kni explain that the USS Earth is violating their space, and the excuse of Captain Steichen that there was no marking of any kind, doesn't help at all. On the contrary... The Kni demand that Captain Steichen surrenders herself and that way the Kni will let her ship and her crew go free... USS Earth sensor logs show that if there is a battle the USS earth could handle two of the Kni warships, but not three and cerainly not four. The only suggestion Tactical Chief LT CMDR Ulo Hung can do is to seperate the ship and have the saucer section battke as well. Captain Steichen doesn't have much time to make a decision... Captain Steichen takes the heroic decision to surrender herself, so her crew is saved, that is if the Kni keep their word... USS Giorko The USS Giorko is on her way to Earth for a rather unusual mission. Starfleet Security has started an investigation on all it's Starbase Commanding Officers, and some of those are already in trouble, because of some minor violations of some rules and regulations. First thing the Giorko crew has to do is check on Admiral Cota Don, Head of Starfleet Security. With some false excuse USS Giorko Chief of Security LT Jonathan Yell and Doctor Frank Stevens have to get to Admiral Don to check his medical condition. If the behaviour of Starfleet Security is caused by an alien invasion of some kind, Doctor Stevens will detect that immediately. More plans are set up to try to hack into the Starfleet Security database and without any detection, get as much information as possible. Some crewmembers find it uncomfortable to do this mission, but they realise there is no choice. The behaviour of Starfleet Security is strange to say the least. Security investigations like this have never been executed before on this kind of large scale. The voyage to Earth has been smooth. Chief of Security Yell, has been able to make an appointment with Don. But Yell has to go alone. Because the Doctor cannot accompany LT Yell, he gives the USS Giorko Chief of Security full instructions, necessary to detect any aliens in Admiral Don's neighbourhood. A few days later In the mean time First Officer Cambrera leads a team to get all the files from the Starfleet Security database, needed to find a reason behind this disturbing invetigations. The meeting between LT Yell and Admiral Don is nice but very fast. LT Yell had just enough time to activate the sensors and scan the Admiral. The Admiral is clean. When LT Yell left Admiral Don's office, he has some time to scan some of the officers who are waiting for their turn to see the Admiral. No alien detection... When LT Yell returns to the USS Giorko, XO Cambrera has already broken into the Starfleet Security database. It is clear that Starbase 199 is next on the list for investigation. There is nothing more of real importance for this case, but one simple file seems to be the key to this entire situation. The USS Giorko is already leaving Earth's orbit when First Officer Cambrera presents the file top the senior staff. The file is a coded message. It is not clear where the message comes from and it is not exactly clear to who this message is sent: Begin Message: To whom it concernes. At least six Starbase Commanding Officers are conspiring to declare independancy from the Federation as these Starbase Commanders no longer want to follow the rules and regulations of Starfleet and the Federation. End of Message Capytain Van Nieuwenhove inform Admiral Benzo on Starbase 29, who gave him this mission and he then will wait for further orders. USS Thunderbolt The Cardassian bodies USS Thunderbolt First Officer LT CMDR Antwerps on Dyn III are not the only ones. As the Thunderbolt away team enters the underground structures, more Cardassian bodies are found. Apparently the crew of the USS Provence was not the only victim of this Microbe. But the next question is... What were the Cardassians doing here? And are they responsable for creating the Microbe or are they a victim just like the USS Provence? "USS Thunderbolt, this is the away team. We found what we think is the central computer of this complex. It is clearly Cardassian. These systems are off line but we are going to power it up and try to find some files which can give us more information." At the moment Commander Antwerps has just finished her last word LT Tomar reports a Cardassian Galor-class vessel, which is approaching. After the war with the Dominion relations with Cardassia has been at ease, but it is unusual that Cardassian ships visit Federation space. But the Cardassians understand Captain Mechels' surprise. "I am Gul Zodar. Forgive me my intrusion, but we have received word that some of our officers have had some difficulties on this planet. We would like to help them..." But Captain Mechels has his own thoughts... Never trust a Cardassian. They changed sides during the war with the Dominion, just like that. How trustworthy can they be... He will stand fast and block the Cardassians with everything he's got. Captain Mechels will just say that all Cardassians are dead and that they better leave. Shuttle Explorer But LT CMDR Hendrik has more important things to do than to think about Voyager's return. The six meters tall Uniol stares at the small group of visiotrs. LT CMDR Hendriks has decided that they will wait until the animal called Uniol takes his own initiative. After that the group will evaluate the situation and act as seems necessary. The Blue Cordions will stay with the group for advice. They shouldn't handle the Uniol themselves. First, wait and see, then decide what to do, but be on the alert. The Uniol seems to look like a monster, but appearances can mislead. The Uniol makes a roaring sound which the Blue Cordions translate as laughter out of heapiness. Apparently the Uniol is glad to see another living and walking creature. While he shakes his head violently the Uniol starts to speak. Even the Federation universal translator understands th elanguage of the Uniol. After a short conversation with LT CMDR Hendriks the Uniol understands that he has to intervene to save the universe from the diabolical plan Jok had meant to execute. He walks through the woods of his home planet with LT CMDR Hendriks on his shoulder. Every step the Uniol takes is like a small earthquake, but Marja Hendriks hangs on and after only tn minutes of a wild walk, the small group arrives at a sructure. Even the two Blue Cordions seem to be extremely happy. The Uniol has been the guard of this structure for centuries. As the Blue Cordions nor anyone else can have any influence over the actions of the Uniol, he was the perfect guard. The huge structure is build by the Uniol himself and he is very proud of his work. And as LT CMDR Hendriks comes closer to the structure, she can only confirm the structure is a work of art in every detail. But then the moment has come to save the universe from Jok's plan. The members of the small group enter the structure and find themselves in a huge room. In the middle of the room there is a ball of energy floating in a see of blue light. Every minute a beam is send out from the enery ball. The Blue Cordions explain to LT CMDR Hendriks that this is the origin of the Cordions. The energy bolt sending out waves and beams of energy creates the Corions power. In only a fraction of a moment the two Blue Cordions send out a beam themselves into the blue sphere of energy. The sphere disperses and an uncountable number of Blue Cordions fill the huge structure. There is only one word to be heard... "Free!" But as the Blue Cordions reunite the Uniol explains to LT CMDR Hendriks that these Blue Cordions were trapped. Not even he, the Uniol could free them. He had tried everything, but nothing he did set the Blue Cordions free. But the Uniol also reminds LT CMDR Hendriks that her task is not yet over. There is a small console in the farest corner of the huge room. The only thing LT CMDR Hendriks has to do is break the entry code and deactivate the system. The Uniol explains that he didn't find this code in his search for over four hundred earth years, but he didn't find it. If the code is wrong, the systems will be detroyed and Jok's plan will continue. If that happens, there is no way of stopping Jok's plan. That is why the Uniol took it upon him to guard this structure. He couldn't risk that anyone would mess up. But LT CMDR Hendriks discoveres the code is very simple. It is Jok's name. Without any hesitation she punches in the code and the system stops... Jok's plan has been stopped. The Universe has been saved. Only an hour later the large group of Blue Cordions have destroyed Jok's systems in the huge structure build by the Uniol. They also destroy the three remaining gates Jok build to get to this place. Nobody will have the possibility to return here. But now it is time to go. All of the Blue Cordions are free and will travel back to their home galaxy. They say good-bye to the Uniol and LT CMDR Hendriks and they will leave LT CMDR Hendriks, but there is one more thing they offer before the final good-bye. They offer to get LT CMDR Hendriks home as a last gesture to the human who saved their race. But the Uniol suggests LT CMDR Hendriks could stay with him... LT CMDR Hendriks accepts the Uniol's invitation although she will be cut off cut of from everything else she knows. There is no contact possible between her and the Federation. But there is much to learn from the Uniol. USS Vertigo Day 46 02.49 Commodore Slater decides not to return to the Torino System. The saboteur has been locked up in the brig and the ship has been completely searched for more possible acts of sabotage and LT CMDR Matz has declared the ship to be "clean". Day 46 09.12 There was an attempt to hijack the USS Pelgrim, but the USS Pelgrim crew is back in control of the ship. It seems that some of the Torinos did not agree that they were rescued. Day 47 14.57 The USS Vertigo arrives at Galdemar II. Ambassador Lolekka comes aboard and is guarded by two security guards of Galdemar II, following protocol. Ambassador Lolekka will be brought to Starbase 172 to meet some of the Federation Council members. USS Lightning Rested and back to the Federation regular mission scedule, the USS Lightning is sent to Glorda Prime, where the main power generator has failed. Lieutenant Thornbird is in command of the small outpost. Thornbird believes someone has sabotaged the power generator of the outpost. Because the Federation officers have been stationed on Glorda Prime for at least a year, Thornbird does not suspect any of his officers, of who some are getting a little bit nervous. It is unlikely that the local population has anything to do with the event either. Both communities, local and Federation live in peace with each other. Lieutenant Thornbird has asked for reinforcements to be sure. The local population has understood the difficulties on the outpost completely and assistance has been offered. But the scientific level on Glorda prime is not that advanced. The Glordans have three ships, capable of warp speed, and they are all away on an exploration mission. As Glorda Prime is the last planet very close to Cardassian space and as the USS Thunderbolt had some trouble with the Cardassians only a few hours before, the Cardassians could be a suspect, but there has not been any Cardassian activity in that sector for over thirteen months. The journey of the USS Lightning to Glorda Prime will take nine days at almost maximum speed. But the USS Lightning has some bad times. On the sixth day an Ion storm blocks the USS Lightning. Atad has calculated that going through the ion storm is possible, but with heavy damage as a result. Just at the moment LT COL Crow wants to make a decision, LT Thornbird of the Glorda Prime outpost reports that again the systems of the outpost fail. But the local population is very helpful and there is not yet a question of an emergency. LT COL Crow explaines to LT Thornbird that anb ion storm is blocking the route of the USS Lightning and that it will about six days more to get to Glorda Prime. LT Thornbird sees the situation as not urgent, and doesn't want LT COL Crow to risk his crew and ship. There is a secondary problem. To get to Glorda Prime the fastest way the USS Lightning has to go through Cardassain space... USS Silverado But LT Tom Walker has no time for the messages from the Federation Council. The Chief of Security of the USS Silverado is on Kolana III trying to save a group of scientists from a poisonous gas in the Kolana III atmosphere... "Fonda we're going after the scientists, myself, Sonak and Torak are going to get them back. You and Dolan are staying behind just in case something happens to us. You can inject us with the anti-dope from the second container. We have less than two hours to bring them back. I intend to have them back on the Silverado before that time. Dolan, take us to the surface, that is about half a kilometer from were we drop the transported the container. In the mean time find a way to contact the Silverado from the surface." The order is given and the plan starts rolling. The shuttle lands on the surface not far from where the scientists have been spotted last. The gas in the atmosphere prevents sensors to give an acurate reading further than two hundred meters. There is no other way than to exit the shuttle and grab the scientists one by one. Everyone on the shuttle has received the anti-dope and without delay the officers execute LT Walker's orders... Fifteen minutes later the first scientist is brought aboard. He receives the anti-dope immediately and only a minute later he is as good as the old one. He even has a plan to penetrate the cloud of interference to contact the Silverado. The shutlle on the surface of Kolana III will fire a low energy phaser as a carrier wave... Exactly one hour and fourty seven minutes later all scientists are aboard the shuttle, injected with the anti-dope and contact has been made with the Silverado. "Well done Lieutenant Walker and all of you. At this time it is maybe better we investigate this planet from orbit. I have the impression that this planet is not yet inhabitable for humans, unless precautions are taken. I find the risk a little bit to big, until we have new data. Return to the Silverado. I guess we will have better luck next time. Colonisation is a little more difficult than we hope it would be. Anyway we... Yes LT Ktol, what is it..." The shuttle crew and the scientists can only listen to what happens on the bridge of the Silverado. There is nothing they can do... "It appeared out of nowhere Captain. It is coming right at us... Inpact in one minute." Captain Harrison gives his orders. "Lieutenant Walker get of the planet now ! Helm, evasive maneuvres !" But LT Ktol is not optimistic. "Sir we cannot escape. It is catching up on us." And Captain Harrison is still very calm. "All power to the shields. Sound collision alert ! Brace for impact !" Just as the shuttlecraft under command of LT Walker leaves the atmosphere of Kolana III, they detect the USS Silverado, heavily damaged dropping towards the planet's surface. The shuttle crew hears the Captain's last orders. "Lieutenant Walker, we're not going to make it. I will send you the data about the collision. Get back to Starbase 843 with this data. It was an honor to serve with you all. It is very important that you..." The transmission ends. But Sonak doesn't give up easily. He pilots the shuttle towards the Silverado. LT Walker has a good idea what Sonak has in mind. As soon as the shuttle is close enough LT Walker activates the tractor beam to try to pull the Silverado back in orbit, but it is to late. The Silverado enters the atmosphere and the atmosphere disrupts the tractor beam. The Silverado drops to the planet's surface with high speed... Only a moment later Sonak reports there is some kind of energy cloud coming towards the shuttlecraft. LT Walker realises that if he doesn't do something now, the shuttle will be destroyed by this energy cloud... But LT Walker stays focussed on the job. "All power to forward shields, Dolan turn the ship away from the energy cloud, take us up right here, thre is an opening big enough to get through. Once we're in the clear, go for higher altitude. Put out a distress call, incase we can't make it through." The Vulcan officer Sonak reports: "The Silverado is down, all data received." Lt Walker knows what to do. "Good. Find out anything you can about the energy cloud. We have scientists aboard, make them useful. Sonak anything on the Silverado? Walker to Fonda. How are the scientists doing? Are they fit enough to do some work?" While the crew and the scientists in the shuttlecraft have to work fast the US Silverado crashes on the ground of Kolana III... USS Alice Cooper Afer talking to Ambassador Spock it is clear that the unification dissidents are no longer safe. DS2 RPG General Status Report October 2001 USS Earth The stand of between the USS Earth and the four warships of the Kni has ended. Before Captain Steichen transports to the Kni leading vessel, she gives First Officer CMDR T'Lok orders to return to Federation space in the Alpha Quadrant. T'Lok, being Vulcan, knows what Starfleet orders mean... Then the moment has come... captain Steichen materializes aboard the K16, a Kni warship, under command of Chef Kun. Chef Kun keeps his word indeed and the USS Earth is free to go. To her surprise is Captain Steichen brought to a rather comfortable holding cell. It seems the Kni are no barbarians at all. Through the small window of her hoding cell does Steichen see her ship leave and jump to warp. At least her ship and crew is safe. For the first day even the guards let Captain Steichen be. She is able to program the replicator herself for refreshments and food. The only thing she can do is wait for what is next. The guard is relieved after a few hours, but nothing more interesting happens the rest of the day... The next morning Captain Steichen is woken up by some kind of loud music. A group, apparently Kni soldiers accompany Chef Kun. The Chef gives his soldiers a signal. First the soldiers don't want to leave but a roar from Kun makes it clear he doesn't want to repeat orders. When Kun is alone with Steichen he makes it clear what he wants: "Captain Christine Steichen. I appologize I could not meet you earlier. I am command of this small fleet and that takes most of my time. I did let your crew and ship go, so I expect you to cooperate. The Kni is a species of warriors and we only know one punishment: death. The Kni do not want to expand their territory, but we do not accept others to enter our space. But we do know that soldiers follow orders and that Captains are responsible for their crew and their ship. So we don't want to bring your crew to trial, but only you as you are responsible. But I have a way so you can escape from a trial. I want to offer you as a dowry. I want to give you as a slave to Big Chef Kje so I can bond with Big Chef Kje's daughter. You will be treated well as slave of Big Chef Kje. That I can sure you. You have five days to think about what I have said. Then we will reach our home planet. The thinking then will be over." But Captain Steichen is not intimidated by Chef Kun. She has already decided to try to escape: there is a lot of technology in the holding cell she might be able to use. USS Giorko Incoming message from Admiral Benzo, Starbase 29 Top Secret To: Captain Geert Van Nieuwenhove I have received your report Captain. It is very disturbing to see that somebody is trying to undermine everything the Federation and Starfleet stand for. I wonder whether this message your crew found in the Starfleet Security Database is coming from an enemy of the Federation. I cannot say much more at this time. It is very important to know which are the six starbases involved in this most unusual case. If you find any reference to any of these starbases, your orders are to visit them one by one and investigate what is wrong on these starbases. Good luck Captain. End of Message All of this is of course easier said than done, but Captain Van Nieuwenhove has a great crew and especially his First Officer LT CMDR Jose Cambrera is very creative. Cambrera has found out that the mysterious message about six rebel starbases, has left a subspace communication trace to another seven messages. Some of these messages don't make any sense at all. But one particular message is very interesting... Begin Message Jonathan. Here they are. 899 - 493 - 622 - 103 - 519. End of Message There are only five numbers mentioned in this message, but USS Giorko First Officer Cambrera already is ready with his report. "Captain. These numbers must be numbers of starbases. I checked them out and Starbases with these numbers are practically neighbours. If this is a coincidence it is incredible. Sir, I suggest we check out the Starbases." Captain Van Nieuwenhove doesn't need much convincing from his senior staff officers. It is not clear yet who this "Jonathan" can be, but at this time there is a lead to follow. Captain Van Nieuwenhove reports the new information to Admiral Benzo on Starbase 29. Then the Captain of the USS Giorko orders to set course to Starbase 899. A few hours before reaching Starbase 899 the USS Giorko crew is ready for action. Under the title "Operation Clean Up", the plan is rather simple. All suspicious acts, communications, and abnormal behaviour will be investigated and stopped immediately. There is of course one little problem. A starbase has about twenty thousand people aboard and the crew of the USS Giorko is a little bit smaller... Still Captain Van Nieuwenhove plans to enter starbase 899 for a so called checkup of all systems and infiltrate the starbase and start the invegstigation. USS Thunderbolt Cardassians are not easily convinced, but Gul Zodar is not yet ready to battle a Federation starship. In the time he needs to make his decision, tension on the USS Thunderbolt is increasing. With the away team still on Dyn III it is a situation which Captain Mechels has experienced not that long ago. He knows he has to lower the shields to transport the away team back aboard, but then his ship will be vulnerable. Again he has to find some tricks to save his away team and at the same time give the Cardassians no chance to attack. But it is clear now that Gul Zodar also needs a few tricks. He seems to be in confusion. The sensors of the Cardassian vessel had to be able to detect the Cardassian bodies. That was one thing Captain Mechels can be sure about. The Cardassians must have been able to detect the USS Thunderbolt away team completely protected by life support suits and they must understand that the Federation has nothing to do with the fate of the Cardassians on the planet Dyn III. But apparently do the Cardassians not know anything about any microbe organisme... "Captain." "Yes Lieutenant. What is it?" "Sir, I think I have detected some of the microscopic organismes on the hull of the Cardassian vessel. I just did a tactical scan sir." Captain Mechels now has a dilemma. He could warn the Cardassians, but he has to consider all the options. At the same time the USS Thunderbolt away team reports they are ready to beam up any time, in case it is needed and an immediate evacuation is necessary. Then as a lightning in a dark sky, Captain Mechels gives his orders. "We do not warn the Cardassians about the microbes on their ship and let them... what ever happens to them..." Shuttle Explorer The Uniol calls his planet Drsen. If a visitor looks around more than he should, he would see this is a small paradise. Although the Uniol has not left his planet in seven millenia, he had visitors from all over the universe. Most of these visitors stayed only for a short time, but there has always been some kind of company for the Uniol. It is a bit a strange site to see the 6 meters tall Uniol walking next to the human LT CMDR Hendriks, but the Federation Officer seems to be getting used to strange life forms. There is a lot to learn, not only technology, but also about herself. The name Marja Hendriks seems to have been forgotten. Time goes by as the Federation Officer learns, mostly about transportation, survival and building the strangest things. But after a few weeks Marja Hendriks has learned so much she can build her own ship. This ship is so advanced that it can take LT CMDR Hendriks back to the Federation in only one day. BUt the building is hard and tkaes several weeks as well. New unknown materials are used and the progress LT CMDR Hendriks has made in such a short time is incredible. Even the Uniol is amazed. When the building of the ship has been finished it is time to go, but not only for LT CMDR Hendriks. The Uniol has decided to leave his planet as well. LT CMDR Hendriks apparently has inspired the Uniol to start exploring space as well. And it doesn't take long before there is a launch from the planet Drsen from two ships. One small ship sets course to Federation space, the other, a hundred times bigger, in the oppmosite direction... The return of LT CMDR Marja Hendriks, is a great event in the Federation. New technology, heroic stories and reunion with the family. It is clear that LT CMDR Hendriks can have any job in the fleet she would like. USS Vertigo Day 48 16.24 Ambassador Lolekka of Galdemar II is very demanding. Commodore slater tries to explain the USS Vertigo is not a luxury cruise ship. It doesn't make any difference and Ambassador Lolekka of Galdemar II and his two guards attack the Commodore, who ends up in sickbay with light insuries. Day 48 16.57 First Officer Captain Norma Lang is in command of the USS Vertigo. LT CMDR Matz and her security officers have catched Ambassador Lolekka of Galdemar II and his two guards and put them in a holding cell. Day 53 12.04 TRhe USS Vertigo arrives at Starbase 172, where Ambassador Lolekka of Galdemar II and his two guards are handed over to Starbase security, after Commodore Slater has explained what happened on his ship. There will be no diplomatic relations with Galdemar II at this time. But unknown to the Federation Council, the Galdemarians are very deeply insulted by the incident and plan an act of revenge... USS Lightning Glorda Prime is not yet in reach of the USS Lightning. To get to Glorda Prime the fastest way the USS Lightning has to go through Cardassain space... But LT COL Crow has his orders ready: "We will take the way around the ion storm and try our chances in Cardassian space. If we run into any problems, we'll solve them then and their." The USS Lightning sets course around the ion storm into Cardassian space. Three days of tension will be part of the USS Lightning Marines. To avoid easy detection by the Cardassian military, Atad has set up a false emission of all kinds of signals, which should be able to camouflage the ship. Two days later USS Lightning sensors detect two Cardassian Galor class warships, but Atad calculates the chances the Cardassians have detected the Marines ship as 7 percent. The Cardassians are on their way to Federation space, but they don't change course to intercept the USS Lightning. It is of course so that the Cardassians helpt the Federation-Klingon-Romulan coalition against the Dominion-Breen enemy. So there is no hostility to be expected even for a Federation ship in Cardassian space. Exactly one day later the USS Lightning returns into Federation space and although nothing bad has happened the last few days the Marines are happy to be back. The journey to Glorda Prime is interupted by LT Thornbird who reports more malfunctions to the Federation outpost systmes have occured. These incidents are to many to be a coincidence. A few days later the USS Lightning is in orbit of Glorda Prime and the Federation officers feel much better. But at the same time an important message for LT COL Crow comes in: Incoming message From General Fujimori Commanding Officer TT5 LT COL Crow, You will proceed to the relay station HK22. There is no hurry. You are expected in 24 days. You will be contacted by Lieutenant Commander Ben Arizona of Starfleet intelligence. He will inform you about a ... situation ... Do not communicate with anyone else about this matter, except with Lieutenant Commander Ben Arizona or myself. End of Message LT COL Crow realises he and his crew have some time now. The trip to HK 22 only takes 13 days at regular speed... LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 71641M: Although we have new orders from the General, we are going to investigate the incidents, and try to solve them before we've got to go to HK22. Myself, Atad and 1st Lieutenant Bell will beam down to Lieutenant Thornbird and see what we can do. USS Silverado The mood aboard the shuttlecraft of the USS Silverado is down. The Scientists and crew of the Silverado aboard the shuttlecraft fear the worst for their fellow officers aboard their ship. Nobody believes that anyone of the Silverdo could have survived a crash on the surface of Kolana III. The interference of the atmosphere of the planet prevents the shuttlecraft's sensors to produce any reading from the surface. With a lot of piloting skills, Sonak is able to evade a second energy cloud. After examining the data received from the USS Silverado the threat of the energy cloud is about the same magnitude as the one which lead to the destruction of the Silverado. It is time to leave this planet of evil and go to Starbase 843 as Captain Harrison's last order stated. About an our earlier the Miranda class USS Sweden, under command of Captain Trenton, received the USS Silverado's distress call, just before it went down. As the USS Sweden passes Kolana III on her way to Starbase 843, it takes the ship, closeby the disaster planet. When the USS Sweden arrives at Kolana III, LT Walker and his shuttle are preparing to leave orbit of the planet. Although Captain Trenton doesn't know Captain Harrison personally he promisses LT Walker he will do anything possible to examine the crash site and to find survivors. Trenton orders six shuttlecraft to do a low surface search of Kolana III. Informed about the dangerous atmosphere, the USS Sweden shuttle crews are injected with the antidope. The remaining Silverado crewmembers stay aboard the USS Sweden, where the scientists examine the data about the energy cloud. After three hours the remains of the USS Silverado have been found. Sixteen of the Silverado officers have survived the crash, including Captain Harison, who is badly injured. Of the Silverado crew only nine crewmen are lost on a total of fifty one. Most of them where senior staff officers, who all stayed at their posts and gave their lives to safe the others... A few hours later a short ceremony is held on the USS Sweden, but the ceremony is interupted by the red alert. Another Energy cloud is coming towards the USS Sweden. Captain Trenton does not take any chances, leaves orbit immediately and jumps o warp speed. On her way to Starbase 843, LT Walker is addressed by the chief scientist of the USS Sweden, Professor Solsbreud. He had heard from the Silverado scientists that LT Walker had saved them and that he would be a great addition for the scientists group which now would investigate the strange energy cloud at Kolana III. The team desperately needs good officers to handle ship matters for them so the scientists could concentrate on their job. LT Tom Walker does not make a decision yet. He first wants to visit Captain Harrison, who is still in sickbay. And Captain Harrison also has an offer to make. He has already heard there is a new ship waiting for him at Starbase 843. A brand new Galaxy class vessel. LT Walker is the only officer left of the Silverado senior staff. Captain Harrison is sure LT Walker will do excellent as the first officer of his new vessel. USS Alice Cooper The Alice Cooper is in negotiation with Ambassador Spock. These negotiations are classified. There is a danger Romulan Tal Shiar spies are able to receive information about these negotiations. DS2 RPG General Status Report November 2001 USS Earth Captain Steichen is held prisoner by the Kni a species living in the Beta Quadrant. But apparently the Kni do not have prisoners often. The Captain's holding cell has a replicator, and is very comfortable. It is the replicator which is the most interesting item in the holding cell. Steichen is able to program the replicator for some tools and even the parts of a type one phaser. None of the Kni have any knowledge of the Captain's actions. They don't even bother with her the next two days. And then everything is ready. It is almost to easy. With a Kni padd Captain Steichen is able to download the ship's blueprints. Much to easy, but there is little choice. With the oldest trick in the book does the Starfleet Captain lure the two guards into the holding cell. "Hey you outside, there is a fire in here. Help me." The door slides open and a moment later the two guards are on the ground, stunned... And the Captain knows exactly how to proceed. Strangely enough, she doesn't encounter any other KNi. It seems the ship has been deserted. But again the Captain reminds herself that there is little choice. To her own surprise she can enter the main shuttlebay of the Kni ship. There are some technicians doing maintenance on one of the shuttles, but they don't even notice her... Five minutes later does Captain Steichen instruct the ships computer to open the bay doors and the shuttle she pilots is in open space. Imediately she sets course to Federation space but she realises that either the Kni are don't know about technology or they are very stupid... But she is wrong... Although Steichen knows her escape was much to easy, she is happy to be free. In the last two days she has managed to study the Kni technology and the helm console of a Kni shuttlecraft. It now proves to be usefull. But that is as far as she has been able to get. When two Kni warships are in pursuit of her small craft, she doesn't know how to raise shields or how to use any weapons. It is Chef Kun who speaks first... "We just wanted to see how this Starfleet Officers operate. How far are they willing to go and how far they can go. You gave us an interesting show. We think we know enough. Now you will be destroyed." The two Kni warships come around and power up their weapons... Suddenly close behind the Kni warships a Galaxy class Federation starship decloaks. It is the USS Earth, firing quantum torpedos at both Kni warships, destroying one, and crippling the other... Captain Steichen feels the twinkling transporter beam and a moment later she is aboard the US Earth, on her own bridge. "Welcome back Captain. Do you need any medical assistance?" USS Earth First Officer CMDR T'Lok doesn't show any concern, but the entire crew knows he must be, deep inside, hidden. When Captain Steichen asks about the cloaking device on her ship, for the Vulcan first officer of the USS Earth there is a simple and logical explanation: "Captain. I believe the treaty we have with the Romulans, established during the war with the Dominion, only forbids us to use a cloaking device in the Alpha Quadrant. We are not in the Alpha Quadrant." And although what she has been trough, Captain Steichen decides to continue exploring the Beta quadrant. USS Giorko The USS Giorko simulates an engine failure to make Starbase 899 personnel believe that the Giorko crew has a reason to dock at the starbase. "Attention US Giorko, this is 899 Operations, you can dock at docking port 6. Please follow docking procedures." Well that wasn't to difficult. The USS Giorko docks at the assigned docking port and a small group of the crew enters the starbase, mingling themselves among the starbase crew... Among the USS Giorko infiltrators is Captain Van Nieuwenhove himself, leaving First Officer LT CMDR Jose Cambrera in command of his ship to overview the so called repairs. But actually Cambreara, with the help of Chief Engineer P'sok, assembles and compiles all info coming from Starbase 899 central database. But the first few hours, nothing out of the ordanary is found. This Starbase seems to be like any other starbase... Time is running out. You can't simmulate repairs for days, which in principle only take half a day. But nothing incriminating has been found so far. The ten USS Giorko Officers have been wondering on the station without result. The USS Giorko CO would like to stay a few more days, but knows that could increase the suspicion to his crew and himself. He doesn't seem to have many options left. Just as Captain Van Nieuwenhove wants to abort the mission, someone tappes him on the shoulder. When the Captain turns around he meets a young Bolian Satrfleet Officer. The Bolian whispers: "Captain. I am Lieutenant William Kretz. Please follow me, there is someone who whishes to talk to you." Captain Van Nieuwenhove immediately realizes this could be a trap. Still he will go with this officer but in the mean time he informs the USS Giorko, with a special code signal which will not be detected by this suspicious officer. USS Thunderbolt Captain Mechels orders are clear. The Cardassians will meet their destiny with the Microbe on their ship, eating it's way in. It is most likely the crew of the Cardassian vessel will have the same end as the crew of the USS Provence. The USS Thunderbolt lowers the shields just long enough to beam back the away team and short enough to give the Cardassians the chance to do something stupid. Back aboard LT CMDR Antwerps reports the away team has found evidence that the Cardassians are behind this microbe. It looks like this was about a hidden Cardassian outpost which served during the war with the Cardassian-Dominion alliance. Something went wrong, but the Thunderbolt scientists still have to figure out what. Captain Mechels now has enough information to send to Head Quarters. In the mean time the USS Thunderbolt leaves orbit of Dyn III leaving the Cardassians behind. The jum^p to warp is smooth and another mission awaits Captain Mechels and his crew. They set course to Starbase 519 for the debriefing. A few days later the USS Thunderbolt docks at Starbase 519. There is no trace of the microbe and the Thunderbolt crew is very happy to have a few days of on the starbase to relax. The tension has been high the last few weeks... But most part of the crew returns rather fast. The officers who went aboard the starbase have some strange news. And when the last Thunderbolt officers have returned a meeting is planned. It seems that the crewmembers of Starbase 519 don't care about Starfleet anymore. Admiral Dolman, who is in command of the starbase, seems to ignore this problem entirely... So Captain Mechels feels he has no other choice than to investigate the situation on Starbase 519. USS Walang Although the USS Walang has been designed for battle, Commander Marja Hendriks will lead the brand new Defiant-class ship into exploration of deep space. The Walang is one of the fastest ships in the fleet and is therefore very useful to travel fast and over great distances. There is a crew aboard of 54, mainly engineers and scientists. Some of the scientists are not that happy being on the Walang. It has nothing to do with the other crewmembers or the assignement, but the Spartan accomodation. The Walang is not exactly a cruise ship for pleasure trips. There has work to be done. The engineers have to test the fine tuning of the brand new engines and the scientists have to get ready for the first planetary mission. The engineers are the first to get their stuff into motion. All kinds of speed records are broken with the new engines and Commander Hendriks can only be pleased. After a three weeks of extreme speeds the USS Walang arrives in an uncharted part of the galaxy at the edge of the alpha quadrant. A group of planets have been probed almost 15 years ago, but after that there has not been any Federation interest in these planets. They don't even have a name, except for D457, D458, D459 and D460. But the scientists do not care about these designations. The only thing they want is to get on the first planet and turn every rock and examine all the plantlife. There is no animal life reported on these planets. The USS Walang is in orbit of D457. An away team has been send down under command of scientist Lieutenant Swartzkopf, with five other scientists and two security officers. The first day LT Swartzkopf, reports there is so much to see that the team will need at least another three weeks to determine whether this planet is suitable for colonisation. But there are four other planets nearby and the other scientists are waiting inpatient. Being on a ship in orbit of a planet for three weeks, without anything to do, could break morale. But if the USS Walang leaves D457 and moves on to D458, it is recommendable that Commander Hendriks leaves one of the two shuttlecraft on D457 for the awayteam, just in case... USS Vertigo Day 57 13.00 The USS Vertigo is on a routine mission to F565. The voyage will take 19 days and so there is time to relax, but also to fine tune the Vertigo's systems. Day 64 14.27 Suddenly without any warning the USS Vertigo is under attack by two Galdemarian battleships, which have been hiding in a nebula closeby. The entire senior bridge crew is hurt or unconscious, except for tactical officer LT CMDR Matz. Matz initiates red alert, raises the shields to maximum and calls the secondary bridgecrew. Day 64 14.28 LT CMDR Matz iz in command of the US Vertigo and while a medical team enters the bridge to take care of the wounded, Matz fires all weapons, destroying one of the two Galdemarian vessels. USS Lightning Glorda Prime is the host of a small Federation outpost. The local population is very friendly and help the Federation Officers and scientists where possible. LT COL Crow, 1st LT Bell and Atad beam down to the operations center of the Glorda Prime outpost. Especially Atad drws a lot of attention and LT COL Crow has to explain to LT Thornbird that the Robot Atad is much more than just a new artificial person. And Atad immediately starts the investigation concerning the latest malfunctions on the Glorda Prime outpost. The outpost is not exactly strategicly important at the far border between Federation space and Cardassian space. It is very unlikely that the Cardassians are behind all this. LT Thornbird gives LT COL Crow and his team a short tour of the complex. The power Generators have already been repaired and everything is running smoothly. But 1st LT Bell is not convinced everything is like it should be. And Atad has found traces of leaking plasma conduits. Those conduit breaches were deliberately manufactured. And the person who did it knew exactly what she or he was doing. It is clear now that sabotage is the main threat on the Glorda Prime outpost. LT COL Crow and his away team can only spend a few days on the planet, but unknown to the outpost personnel, the USS Lightning Marines are monitoring every centimeter of the outpost... continued, every second... But the next day, nothing happens... While LT Thornbird and LT COL Crow try to figure out who could have done this, 1st LT Bell and Atad investigate further and try to find more traces. But everything seems to be clean. Not even DNA traces are found. Nothing happens the day after and LT COL Crow realizes that as long as the marines are around on Glorda Prime, the saboteur will do nothing. And the saboteur probably knows that the USS Lightning cannot stay on Glorda Prime for ever. So LT COL Crow decides it is time to leave and let LT Thornbird, who is in command of the outpost anyway, handle things... And only a few hours after the USS Lightning has left orbit, one of the power generators fails again. But this time there is something different... A platoon Starfleet Marines under command of LT COL Crow himself beams down only ten meters away from a person, who is caught in the act. Only a moment later the saboteur is on the ground, completely stunned. It is a Cardassian male. The Cardassian has a small portable computer with a lot of data which makes it clear the Cardassians are up to something, but at this time the motive of the captured Cardassian is not clear. LT COL Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 74591M: Knowing that we still have 10 days to space, we're going to try to find out what is happening here. We'll act if we're leaving but the platoon stays here, out of site, and we'll see if someone comes to the rescue of the Cardassian male. I've sent a message to the General and will keep him informed of the situation. Now we wait and see. USS Silverado Introduction: Message from LT Tom Walker To Professor Solsbreud, USS Sweden Dear professor, It is with regret that I must decline your request. I urge you to contact Starfleet Headquarters and speak with Admiral Benzo or Admiral Rawlings. End of Message "Captain, I greatly accept the promotion of first officer of the Colorado. We'll need a new crew, I recommend LT Sonak as Chief of Security, Jane Fonda is a good scientist, did a great job on Kolana III, Torak and Dolan are great to work with. We need a Chief Engineer. I understand that Williams requested a transfer that means we need a new doctor. If the Colorado is to leave in a couple of weeks, I'll start requesting a full crew, and get the ship ready for your inspection. Permission to speak freely, it won't be the same without the Silverado, we should have a shuttle on the Colorado named Silverado." Captain Harrison is clearly touched by this last request of his brand new first officer. He is still lying on the biobed in sickbay but he should be up and back to duty in a few days. "Better yet number one. We will have a runabout with the name Silverado..." There is a short moment of silence; like the two officers both have a flashback at the same time about the same things. "We'll put Torak on engineering and Doran on operations. I agree they go together well. I have three recommendations for a new chief medical officer, but I have already taken one of them as my favorite. Doctor Lieutenant Commander Laura Wayne is my first choice. You should check her file." At that time a doctor comes in and asks Lieutenant Commander Walker to leave and let Captain Harrison rest. Tom Walker knows that he still has a lot of work. First he visits the USS Colorado, stil docked at starbase 843. This Galaxy-class vessel is something totally different than a Defiant-class escort ship. Tom Walker has to realise that at the moment this ship leaves Starbase 843, there will be over a thousand people aboard. Most of the crew have arrived already but a small part still has to come aboard... Captain Harrison has arrived aboard the USS Colorado a few days later. When he enters the ship, he already is greeted by his first officer and after a short tour of the ship, Captain Harrison is very pleased with the work of LT CMDR Walker and the other senior officers. As the USS Colorado has a few missions on the agenda, it is time to leave, and then the moment has come... Last one to come aboard is Chief Medical Officer Doctor LT CMDR Laura Wayne. "Give the order number one to take her out." USS Alice Cooper While the USS Alice Cooper is on her way back to Federation space the Romulans in favor of unification have left the ship with Senator Ktolam. The Vulcans however have stayed aboard the USS Alice Cooper, to be taken back to Vulcan. But Ambassador Spock has also returned to Romulus with Senator Ktolam. He is determined to continue to support the unification process. Captain Raz Kalee is sitting in his ready room. It is his ready room now and no longer Dok Skwyr's, although Commodore Skwyr is still aboard the USS Alice Cooper, the ship is now in the hands of Captain Kalee. But for a short moment Captain Kalee has other things on his mind. It had been some time, but finally he met Ambassador Spock again. Kalee was almost overjoyed to see Spock again, but the "live long and prosper" of Spock put him back on the ground with both feet. There was little time to recall the memories and Spock maybe would have wanted it, but didn't show it. There were more important things to discuss, like saving the other Vulcans. Captain Kalee was not able to persuade Spock to stay aboard and return home with the other Vulcans. Time was running out... again... "Captain to the bridge." Kalee jumped to his feet. He didn't have to ask what the problem could be. He already knew. The Romulans had come closer, and they hadn't even taken the trouble to cloak their vessels. The camouflage of the USS Alice Cooper disguised the Federation ship in a Romulan ship, but their was always a chance the Romulans could see through it. It was only one day to the Federation border. And although Captain Kalee had ordered some course changes, it must have been clear to the Romulans that the ship they were persuing was on course to Federation space. This had become a race... At first Catain Kalee had planned to keep a lower speed, really like a cargo ship would do, but when the Romulans came closer he couldn't take any chances. The Vulcans aboard had to be taken home. That was now the first priority. The increase in speed of the USS Alice Cooper, was probably very suspicious, but there was little choice... DS2 RPG General Status Report December 2001 USS Earth Two weeks have passed since the rescue of Captain Steichen from the Kni. The USS Earth is on a course deeper into the Beta Quadrant. This region of the galaxy has been probed by the Federation about a hundred years ago and that is what this exploration makes so fascinating, as First Officer T'Lok has already said a few times. Aside of the pulsars, uninhabitable planets and pre-space travel civilisations, the USS Earth has encountered six planets suitable for colonisation. If the Federation ever thinks about expansion, there is plenty of sace here. The stellar cartography department of the USS Earth has a great time comparing the current sensor logs with the one hundred years old data from the probes. It is amazing to see that there has been no change in this region during that time. The USS Earth ends up in orbit of a uninhabited class-M planet. The planet looks like paradise and the Captain gives the entire crew a full day of shore leave on the planet. A sceleton crew maintains aboard, together with a few very busy stellar cartographists. And while the crew has a great time on the planet surface, stellar cartogrphy discovers something incredible. "Captain, this is Commander T'Lok. I think you should see this." A few moments later the Captain returns from the planet, and is confronted with the latest long range sensor logs. The sensors have detected a Federation signal only a few lightyears ahead. The signal is just an identification and nothing else. That is why Captain Steichen lets her crew enjoy the R&R on the planet for the rest of the day. But the next morning the USS Earth is on her way to the Federation signal. But upon arrival things get a bit complicated. There is indeed a Federation probe, and it is identified as a probe send out by Starfleet about a hundred years ago, but it is stuck in somekind of energy field. The USS Earth scientists define this field as a temporal distortion. The probe is to far away to try to transport it into one of the cargobays. The presence of the temporal distortion explains why the probe is still working after all this time. But the only thing the probe transmits is the identification. There must be huge amounts of data stored in the probes memory and that data could mean a lot to Federation temporal mechanics. But the only way to retrieve the probe is go in the temporal distortion itself... Captain Steichen knows the value of the probe and decides to send a shuttle craft into the temporal distortion to retrieve the probe piloted by two volunteers. USS Giorko Captain Van Nieuwenhove follows the suspicious LT Kretz through the coridors of Starbase 899. Unknown to LT Kretz, four of the USS Giorko security officers monitor their Captain's movements and are ready to intervene if necessary. LT Kretz leads the Commanding Offcier of the USS Giorko through some deserted coridors on the lower levels of the starbase. but then suddenly he halts and leads Captain Van Nieuwenhove in a small cargobay, where LT Kretz adresses Captain Van Nieuwenhove. "Captain, there are ten containers, filled with gold pressed latinum. They are all for your crew and yourself if you give up the investigation on this starbase. Yes we know you are up to something. You just tel me who has ordered you to do this and take the latinum. If you do not agree to these terms, I will have to kill you here and now." Suddenly LT Kretz holds a phaser in his hand. Captain Van Nieuwenhove has to make a fast decision. If he takes the latinum, he will be an outlaw for Starfleet, if he doesn't, he will end up dead... This LT Kretz could be a secret plant from Starfleet Security to test the Captain, or he could be a criminal... In the mean time on the USS Giorko, First Officer Jose Cambrera has not yet found anything in the Sarbase 899 database which could imply anything out of the ordinary. The group on the Giorko continues the search, but it is already clear that if something irregular happens on Starbase 899, it is most likely left out of the database. Captain Van Nieuwenhove has other things on his mind. He is threatened by an unknown officer. But there is no time to do more thinking. Behind on of the containers appears Ensign Carl Ptchiconi, the best shot of the USS Giorko crew. He fires without hesitation and LT Kretz is stunned on the ground. Kretz' weapon falls a few meters away and is picked up by another USS Giorko security officer. A moment later four security officers with weapons surround LT Kretz, but when Kretz comes by again he quickly puts something in his mouth, before anyone noticing. And Kretz has a last word. "You... will never... find out..." Then he is dead. LT Kretz was a Starbase 899 officer. Captain Van Nieuwenhove will personally search his quarters and try to find more evidence of a conspiracy. He asks the help of three USS Giorko Security Officers. USS Thunderbolt Starbase 519, a Starfleet starbase where all personnel seems to have lost all interest in Federation priorities. The personnel still performes duties, like maintenance and all visiting ships are handled as they should, but the spirit of the starbase seems to be lost somehow. Captain Mechels takes the initiative and with a group of security officers he enters the Starbase airlock. The group acts as if they are going to have some R&R and they spread out on Starbase 519. The group soon discovers that there is only one ship in 519 Spacedock. The USS Sunrise, an old Miranda-class vessel, under command of Captain Zam. The last ship in spacedock left two days ago. The USS Sunrise Captain and Captain Mechels have a short talk in xhich Captain Zam confirms that his ship will leave the next day. Zam explains to Mechels dat his old ship just had another very necessary upgrade and he is very happy that he now has the chance to start on a mission again, after almost three weeks. Some of the USS Thunderbolt security officers have discovered that there have been shipments of cargo to the Starbase which were not registred. That should not be a big thing as it is known that there are always shipments missing somewhere. While the security officers are discussing the issue with their Captain, LT Tomar, USS Thunderbolt Chief of Security calls them. "Captain, please join me on level 14 section 6. I think you should see this." The Captain and the other six security officers go to the specific location without rousing suspicion, where they meet with LT Tomar, who is accompanied by another security officer. LT Tomar points to a group of people who are unloading a ship. He also points to his tricorder. This cargobay is totally deserted. No other Starfleet personnel is present except for Captain Mechels and his security officers. The load which is unloaded is gold pressed latinum. Nothing dangerous, but very suspicious. Captain Mechels nods and LT Tomar comes out of his cover and asks the workmen for their load manifest. The answer is short. Two phaserblasts are fired towards LT Tomar, who can save himself behind a bulkhead without being hit. There are only six workmen against 9 fully trained Starfleet officers... The fight begins... and Captain Mechels orders are very clear. "Do everything you can to capture one or more workmen and lock them up for questioning." USS Walang The USS Walang leaves orbit of D457, leaving LT Swartzkopf's away team on the surface, with a shuttlecraft. It is the most efficient way to go on wuith the work and if anything happens the USS Walang is not far waay. As the USS Walang only has two shuttlecraft the procedure on D458 will have another approach. Commander Hendriks cannot afford to leave another shuttlecraft behind. Six hours later is the USS Walang stationed in a standard orbit of D458, and the group of scientists is transported down to the planet's surface. D458 looks alot like D457 and this time the away team also requests at least three weeks to explore this planet. Six scientists accompanied by two security officers will have to set up a camp like on D457. Commander Hendriks realises that the USS Walang will not go anywhere and she takes the opportunity to let the crew have some shore leave on the planet. With every change of shift the off-duty personnel can spend four hours on the planet. And even Commander Hendriks herself transports herself to the planet during her rotation, leaving First Officer Lieutenant Commander Harry Belafonte in command of the ship. D458 looks like paradise, but the scientists indeed need a lot of time to examine all plant life. As the first reports from D457 are coming in, it looks like D457 and D458 are twin planets. Although totally different plantlife appears to be present on both planets for thousands of years, a comparison of the two planets can only lead to fantasies. On, the third day on D458, one of the scientists who was wondering a bit further from the camp, discoveres a piece of concrete. It is clearly artifially made and so not a natural element. The scientists reports his findings and Commander Hendriks visits the piece of concrete herself. On of the USS Walang's archeologists is very enthousiastic and asks permission to dig up whatever is underneath this piece of concrete. The crew of the USS Walang is not that large, but on the other hand this is a unique finding and time should not be an issue. There could be a lost civilisation under the planet's surface. USS Vertigo Day 64 14.39 In battle the USS Vertigo under temporary command of LT CMDR Matz, damages the second Galdemarian vessel heavily, but not without sustaining damage itself. The Caldemarians are able to get away. Day 64 15.10 After an investigation it is clear the Caldemarians were using Cardassian weapons. Day 65 23.14 Commodore Slater is back in command of the USS Vertigo. Repairs are on their way, but most of the senior staff is still in sickbay, together with about a dozen other crewmembers. USS Lightning Incoming Message from General Fujimori LT COL Crow. Keep the Cardassian, until we arrive. Two days. End of message It is clear enough that the General is not coming to Glorda Prime alone. USS Colorado LT CMDR Tom Walker doesn't hesitate a moment to follow Captain Harrison order to take the brand new Galaxy-class USS Colorado out of spacedock. "Helm lets take the ship out." "Helm ready sir." "Aft thrusters, one quarter impulse power." "Aye sir." LT Sonak reports: "Starbase doors open in sixty seconds." And LT CMDR Walker takes action. "Easy Helm, nice and easy don't rush take your time." And exactly sixty seconds later, LT Sonak reports: "Starbase doors are open." "Helm take us through. Captain with your permission I checked the file we received from Starfleet Command on the Virodians. I like to go over the data with th senior staff and brief them." "Excellent Number One." The USS Colorado is free and clear to navigate. A course is set to the Viroda system. Viroda IV is a candidate to join the Federation and the Federation can use all allies they can find after the war with the Dominion. This will not be an intens wission and the crew and senior staff will get a lot of time to get to know their new ship. Especially Vulcan Chief Engineer LT Torak is fascinated with the new engineering section. First Officer Tom Walker informs the senior staff about what is awaiting. The Virodians have developed warp drive only a few decenia ago and they left their system only about 15 years ago. The Virodians hope that with the help and guidance of the Federation, their evolution will speed up. But it is not clear yet to the Virodians that the Federation has a policy of not interfering with evolution of species. These are going to be far more difficult negotiations than expected. And because the Virodians have not yet been accepted as member of the Federation, Captain Harrison and LT CMDR Walker's reports about the Virodians will be determine whether the Federation Council will accept the Virodians in the Federation. The main point is that the Viroda system is also interesting for it's strategic location, closeby to the Cardassian border. There have been some incidents with the Cardassians recently and the Virodians could be of military help. But it is njot yet decided and the Virodians could have totally other interests than the Federation... The briefing is over. The senior staff has about a week to study the Virodians files in detail. A week later... The USS Colorado is in orbit of the Virodians home planet... Where the USS Colorado is welcomed by two brand new ships warp three vessels of the Virodian fleet. A group of Virodian diplomats and engineers is transported to the Colorado, where Captain Jeffrey Harrison and First Officer Tom Walker welcome the Virodian delegation. But the Virodians already have some demandes: "Captain, Commander, I am Lord Junoto. I lead this diplomatic delegation. Let us not throw away our precious time. We had the following list of ideas so we could come closer to the Federation: First we would like to examine your propulsion and weapons systems, so we can copy them and use them for our already expanding fleet. Our warp three ships are fine, dont get me wrong, but if we have to develop technology ourselves, we lose to much time, and we are going to join the Federation anyway so you could give us this technology already so..." The Virodian Lord Junoto keeps talking and the list of demands only grows... USS Alice Cooper When the Romulan warbirds were only 4 hours away, red alert was initiated. Battlestations. There was no doubt. The Federation border was eight hours away and the Romulans would catch up with the USS Alice Cooper in four hours. Time was running out, but as long as there was hope, this mission could still be a success. If Captain Kalee was to order to maximum speed, he could gain an hour, or maybe even two, but he had to disengage the camouflage reactor. The Romulans would clearly see that the USS Alice Cooper was a Federation ship and not a Romulans hip suspected from having some kind of bandits aboard. Captain Raz Kalee took the decision. He ordered to take the camouflage reactor of line, spread fifty mines as a trap for the Romulans and then maximum speed. The Romulan warships cloaked almost immediately... Two hours later there were some small explosions some lightyears behind the USS Alice Cooper. One of the Romulan ships had taken serious damage, and another one had lost warp power. The mines had done their work. But the remaining four Romulan warbirds, still cloaked, were still there, and they would catch up with the USS Alice Cooper just an hour before the Federation ship reached the Neutral zone. "Rerout all power to propulsion, shut down some decks if you have to. We have to get into the Neutral Zone before the Romulans catch us." The order was clear, and everyone aboard the USS Alice Cooper realised that this was going to be the fastest trip they would ever take. Four Romulan warbirds decloaked and seemed to push their engines to the limit as well. Now Captain Kalee had a better view on the position of the Romulans. The Romulans were farther away than expected. The Federation vessel might just make it... An hour later the USS Alice Cooper entered the Neutral Zone, but the Romulans were awfully close, almost in firing range... When the first Romulan torpedo hit the USS Alice Cooper shields, damage was minimal, but there were more to come... The ship trembled, consoles were exploding and the first serious damage reports were coming in. A second attack, shut down the warp core. This wouldn't take to long. Chie Engineer,Lieutenant Commander Jelana Frankel-Stangya, promissed to have it back on line in a few minutes. Captain Kalee ordered all power to the defensive systems. He had hoped for help and had sent out a distress signal, but there had been no response yet... And then suddenly without any warning Seven Federation starships dropped out of warp. "This is Fleet Captain Harry Cornwal of the USS Idaho. Romulan ships, prepare to return to Romulan space or we will engage you." The seven ships were sending out tachyon pulses on their sensor scanning. Even if the Romulans would cloak, Fleet Captain Cornwal would be informed of their position. The Romulans realised they had lost this battle and retreated leaving the USS Alice Cooper free to go to Vulcan... Sixteen days later the still damaged USS Alice Cooper arrived at Vulcan. Ambassador T'Pol thanked Captain Kalee and his crew for the heroic rescue of the Vulcans... If this had been a human planet there would have been a party... But Captain Kalee and his crew couldn't wait much longer. New missions were coming up from Starfleet Command...
