DS2 RPG General Status Report January 2005 USS Earth In a Galaxy far far away... Stiegl Galaxy, aboard USS Moon, under command of Admiral Steichen assisted by Captain Steichen, her younger self... The USS Moon travels to Palador, capital of Stiegl the Stiegl galaxy where Lord Lamu has taken over from the old Stiegl government. Captain Steichen hopes that Lord Lamu can stop the Stiegl Doomship in her own galaxy, but first of all it is going to be difficult to even get to talk to Lord Lamu as everyone wants to talk to him. As New leader of the Stiegls Lord Lamu has to start reorganising the Stiegl society. There has to be peace from now on. To talk to Lord Lamu includes that the USS Moon reveals itself and that the Stiegls can see the Federation ship from the future. But there is little choice. Besides the new Stiegl society is tired of war. So the danger should be gone. "Admiral we are now in orbit of Palador, Capital of the Stiegl galaxy." "Uncloak." "Aye Admiral, uncloaking." The large USS Moon immediately draws attention of the Stiegls. The USS moon is contacted by Stiegl security, peacefully to everyones surprise. "Attention Federation ship. The Federation has helped us to overthrow our evil government. We want to thank you for that. How can we help you ?" There is a moment of silence. Whatever happened here in Stiegl space, there is doubt on the USS Moon that the Federation has been involved in Stiegl government affairs, except that the USS Thunderbolt was here. Lord Lamu is a Borg. Apparently the Stiegls do not know or do not care about that. But Lord Lamu has his own surprises. Suiddenly without warning he stands aboard the USS Moon on the bridge, next to Captain Steichen. He looks at her and looks at Admiral Steichen... "I see." He looks again to both Christine Steichens and then turns to Admiral Steichen. "You are the senior officer. What can I do for you." Admiral Steichen explains to Lord Lamu about the Stiegl Doomship in Federation space and how it is going to destroy part or maybe the entire galaxy. But Lord Lamu cannot help. "There is nothing I can do from this distance, but the USS Thunderbolt is already at the location. We respect all life, but Captain Mechels is in command, so he has to make the decision. Although I believe that with your technology you can stop that Stiegl Doomship yourself. The Stiegl Class D ship is autonomous weapon beyond control of anyone. It has to be destroyed before the weapon itself is activated. The only way to do this is to reprogram it. But there are so many security incriptions and booby traps, only programmed nanites can do that. I can only give you the program codes for those nanites. You have to understand I am not in control here and I cannot help more than that." Admiral Steichen whisperes in Captain Steichen's ear. "He is a drone." But apparently Lord Lamu has heard that. "Not exactly. I live in symbiosis with Master One, Lord Two and Lord Three. The three... What you would call Borg Drones, aboard the USS Thunderbolt are from a very distant future. That is all I can tell you. I have to go now." The same as he appeared, Lord Lamu disappears. Where he has just stood, a small box is waiting to be opened. Admiral Steichen picks up the box and reads the inscriptions. "These are sample nanites..." Captain Steichen has her own ideas... "The timeline should be checked. Maybe something has already changed for the good. Go back to Admiral Steichen's time and investigate what changes still have to be done. We can always return to this time." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 The Klingon side of Lieutenant Commander Matz takes over and she fires her weapon, followed by her officers. At close range the special forces of Major Lato have advantage and the first officer of the USS Strike falls down, stunned, very quickly followed by the next. The firing aboard the Stiegl Doomship between the groups of Major Lato and Lieutenant Commander Matz is of course detected aboard other Federation ships, but especially Commodore Slater in command of the USS Vertigo, commanding Officer of Lieutenant Commander Matz, is very concerned when he is informed the entire group of Lieutenant Commander Matz has been stunned by Starfleet Special forces. Matz entire group is sent back to the USS Strike for medical treatment. Major Lato reports to Commodore Van Nieuwenhove that the situation is under control and that his team has not sustaned any casualties or wounded. The operation can continue. The Stiegl rebel, Kozam leads the Major and his group deeper into the ship to try to find a way to stop the Stiegl Doomship. At the same time Commodore Van Nieuwenhove has his own problems. The Stiegl Doomship is still on direct route to Starbase 369 and will hit the starbase if it is not turned. He orders Major Lato to find a way to have the Stiegl Doomship change course and maybe with the help of the Stiegl rebel, Kozam, Major Lato and his team will find a way. Commander Jeffrey Dunn, in command of the USS Carry has taken more refugees from outposts and relay stations close to the route the Stiegl Doomship is following. But even Commander Dunn realises the Stiegl Doomship is coming closer to Starbase 369 and a collision seems to be immenent. The freighter of Commander Dunn is not a fast ship, but the other ships of the fleet of Commodore Van Nieuwenhove are close to Starbase 369 to stand by if they are needed to evacuate the starbase. So the USS Carry continues to evacuate Starfleet personnel and Federation citizens to planets farther away from the route of the Stiegl Doomship, so at least these people are safe. Apparently some other freighter commanders have seen what Commander Dunn is doing and as their ships are not really any good in battle they start helping Commander Dunn with evacuations. The freighters are large empty ships and a lot of people can be saved in a short time. Will the effort of the freighter fleet be enough ? It is Lieutenant Newman abaord the USS Carry who sees it first... "Commander The Stiegl Doomship is on its way to collide with one of the moons of Klemana III. Luckily there is no life on that moon." "Why didn't we see that before ?" "Sir we did not calculate all moons of all planets sir. This moon is apparently one of them." It is decided to wait and see what happens when the Stiegl Doomship will hit the small moon of Klemana III... and it does. The Stiegl Doomship, almost as large as the moon itself, collides with the moon, destroying it, without slowing down or even be disturbed by the collision. The Stiegl Doomship just continues on its way. It seems unstoppable. Aboard the Stiegl Doomship, Major Lato and his team are informed, but they did not feel a thing. The Stiegl Doomship hasn't even shaken... And then suddenly without any warning, a Hirogen ship decloaks and sets course to the Stiegl Doomship. It is clear that even the Hirogen realise the Galaxy is doomed if they don't help destroying the Stiegl Doomship. maybe even the Hirogen cannot battle this Stiegl Doomship successfully. One thing is certain. Major Lato and his team are still aboard. If the Hirogen are successful, Lato and his team will be killed. And there is no way to predict what the Hirogen attack will do to the Stiegl Doomship... Commodore Van Nieuwenhove gives his orders. "Get Major Lato and his team of the Stiegl Doomship. The chance that the Hirogen have more success of damaging or even destroy the Stiegl Doomship is very real, and Major Lato and his team will be killed. If the Hirogen do not succeed, Major lato and his team can always return to the Stiegl doomship." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt Under preasure of his crew and especially his First Officer Els Antwerps, Captain Mechels has no choice than to return to the home galaxy and help the Federation, Klingons, even Borg to destroy that Stiegl Doom Ship. With transwarp and subspace technology the USS Thunderbolt speedsup, leaves the Stiegl home galaxy and sets course back home. to arrive only one hour later, crossing Klingon space and entering Federation space. This Stiegl Doomship is indeed huge. But the Borg drone One has already a plan ready to stop and destroy this Stiegl Doomship. But there is still time. After scanning the entire Stiegl Doomship, it takes at least one year before the ship comes at a position that an explosion will indeed destroy the entire galaxy. There is no hurry as Borg drone One explains. "Captain Mechels there is no need for panic yet. The destruction of the entire galaxy is not at hand yet." But here is Drone One interupted by Drone Two. "Master One, may I suggest we tell Captain Mechels what will happen if this Stiegl Doomship explodes now." "Yes Lord Two, I agree we must tell him. Captain Mechels if this Steigl Doomship's weapon is activated 80 percent of your Galaxy will be destroyed. Only a part of the Delta Quadrant will be spared. All of that part is Borg territory." It is silent on the bridge of the USS Thunderbolt. Just when everyone thought there was time enough, it seems that there is no time at all. It is Drone Two who speaks first. "Master One. Aside of the hundreds of Federation and Klingon ships we have detected, attacking the Stiegl Doomship, we have also detected an Hirogen ship." Drone One seems to think a moment. He is checking on the data of the sensors. There is no doubt. There is an hirogen ship nearby, stealth and cloak activated. "Well done Lord Two. Borg of this time period would not have detected that ship. There are only two Hirogen crewmembers, but it is a powerful ship. The hirogen can do some damage to the Stiegl Doomship. Captain Mechels, these Hirogen are no problem. they can damage the Stiegl Doomship, but they cannot activate the weapon or stop the Stiegl Doomship. Lord Two will stay alert on the Hirogen status." "Master One, we are contacted by a Federation ship, USS Resolution, Galaxy class, Admiral Stredder in command." Chief of Operations, Lieutenant Leeloo Brussels can only confirm that. "On screen." "Captain Mechels, I am Admiral Stredder. I will come right to the point. I have a good idea of what you, your crew and your ship can do. We have thought about calling the Borg to help, but we are not yet that desperate. We want to ask you for help with stopping and destroying that Stiegl Doomship. I know you are a renegade and you should be brought before a court martial, but I have received full authority from the Federation Council that if you stop and destroy that stiegl Doomship, you can ask anything you want..." Captain Mechels has noticed the strange behaviour of the Borg aboard his ship. "We are going to talk to the Borg drones first. We are going to ask their advice. Their behaviour is strange to say the least. Calling eachother "Lord" and "Master" is not really Borg behaviour..." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang The USS Walang is in orbit of planet PP-499, where on the planet itself a group of Trax, have discovered a Stiegl base and a small Stiegl ship, probably some kind of shuttlecraft. The Stiegl technology is far more advanced than expected. This Stiegl ship is much faster than a Federation ship, but its weapons and defensive systems are inferior. No wonder the Stiegls are losing the war against the Federation and its allies. Just when Captain Hendriks thinks about making a decision about what to do about this STiegl base on PP-499, Countor on the surface already has the answer. "Captain Hendriks. We have to leave. Somehow our precense here has triggered a self destruct mechanisme. We are..." The communication channel is closed. And it is now waiting time for the USS Walang crew to see what happens next. Chief of Operations: Lieutenant Commander John Strauss is the first to report. "Captain, a huge explosion on the planet surface. Let me see. The stiegl base is almost completely destroyed by the blasts." "Do we have Countor and his people in our transporter rooms ?" "That is a negative Captain. Wait a minute. It is the Stiegl ship Countor was talking about. It has lifted up and is coming into orbit at starboard side. All Trax are acounted for. They are all save." Of course everyone is happy that Countor and his people have survived. The data of the Stiegl database which has been saved do not reveal anything new. The Stiegl ship itself is already in the USS Walang ships databank and there is nothing new about that either. It seems that this mission is only a small success, except for Countor and the Trax who already have made a song about their heros on PP-499. It was the Trax first official act in space on their own. Maybe there will be more actions of the Trax. After a better investigation Chief of Operations Lieutenant Commander John Strauss has calibrated the sensors to see where the large Stiegl Battleship has headed about a year ago and he comes to a serious conclusion. "Captain. The trail of the Stiegl battleship is exactly on the same route we are following to the Gnodes homeplanet..." "Understood Mister Strauss. Commander Bellafonte, assemble a team and go aboard this captured Stiegl ship. You will go out to scout along the way of the trail of the Stiegl battleship. This way we can follow at a safe distance, to the Gnodes homeworld. And at the same time, you will investigate what Stiegls are up to, using the technology of the Stiegl ship." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Strike Day 7 05.30 Aboard the Stiegl Doomship, Major Lato and his officers are now pointing weapons at Lieutenant Commander Matz and her officers. For about a minute there is a stalemate, but then Lieutenant Commander Matz takes a decision. Day 7 05.31 The Klingon side of Lieutenant Commander Matz takes over and she fires her weapon, followed by her officers. At close range the special forces of Major Lato have advantage and the first officer of the USS Strike falls down, stunned, very quickly followed by the next. Day 7 05.32 The firing aboard the Stiegl Doomship between the groups of Major Lato and Lieutenant Commander Matz is of course detected aboard other Federation ships, but especially Commodore Slater in command of the USS Vertigo, commanding Officer of Lieutenant Commander Matz, is very concerned when he is informed the entire group of Lieutenant Commander Matz has been stunned by Starfleet Special forces. Matz entire group is sent back to the USS Strike for medical treatment. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg All teams aboard the Stiegl doomship have now been called back to their ships. There is an incoming message from Starfleet Operations... Message begins From Admiral Ethan Mondriaan, Starfleet Operations To all Starfleet Starships and Federation facilities After a brief contact with the new Stiegl Government, there is peace between our galaxies. There is no way at this time we can destroy a Stiegl Doomship which is on its way to the center of our galaxy. With the help of the Klingons we have gathered our fleets for a last and final big coordinated attack. Even some Hirogen from the Delta Quadrant have joined us. If this large scale attack with almost 4 thousand ships will not succeed, we have no other choice than to contact the Borg to help us, because we think that the Borg are the only ones who can stop this ship. We believe the Borg will use any means necessary to neutralise that Stiegl Doomship as if they do not, this galaxy will be destroyed and the Borg Collective will be as well. But first things first. We will start the massive attack at 16.00 today when the Federation and Klingon combined fleets are ready. there are some Special Forces soldiers aboard the Stiegl ship, but they have decided to stay whatever happens to monitor the situation aboard the Stiegl ship during the attack. They could give us vital information. Your attack pattern will be given to you 30 minutes before the battle begins. Good luck to all of us. End of message. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado The USS Explorer has left the USS Colorado, ending up in a huge fleet of Stiegl ships. Commander Walker in command has to make decisions. "Report!" Lieutenant Sonak reports in his typical Vulcan way. "There exactly 350 warships." "What's there status?" There is something strange about these ships. "Scanning! They appear to be inactive." Even Commander Walker does not really understand. "All 350 of them, what about the Stiegl coordinates we had?" The USS Explorer has shifted through space and there needs to be a verification of the current position. But Lieutenant Sonak can only confirm the position. "The coordinates are correct, but no Stiegl life form of any kind." Walker doesn't trust it. He still needs more information and asks Lieutenant Jones for an explanation. "You have something for me?" Lieutenant Jones doesn't have a sollution, but she has more information about the Stiegl ships. "Yes sir, I'm not sure but I believe I found a weak point." In the upcoming conference the officers make a detailed plan. Lieutenant Sonak makes an analysis. "I believe we have found a weak point, at this section. It appears to be launching bay which is protected with no bulkhead plating." "In simple words, Mr Sonak. Quantum torpedoes can do some damage." "Yes Commander, it could possibly destroy the vessels." "Could it destroy the doomship Hurom talked about?" "Very possible Commander." Unknown to the USS Explorer crew the Stiegl Doomship in the Alpha Quadrant cannot be destroyed. Every attempt to destroy or stop the Stiegl Doomship will end up in the activation of the Stiegl weapon which can destroy an entire galaxy. Commander Walker takes the decision. "Mr Sonak and Lieutenant Jones you have exactly one minute to retrieve what ever information you can about the Doomship. Lieutenant Sonak gets to work immediately. "Lieutenant Doran prepare for time travel, and take's us home. We found information about the Doomship, the coordinates are the same for the weak point." Commander Walker has understood. "Take's us home!" "The time rift isd opening in 4_3_2_1, we're in Commander." "Fire a full wide torpedo spread aft, I don't like surprises." The torpedoes are shot at the fleet of Stiegl ships at the time the USS Explorer leaves. The explosions of the torpedoes have a cascade reaction as result. "We're clear from the blast Mr Sonak." "No Stielg activieties as we left." The 350 Stiegl ships are destroyed. "Thank you Mr Sonak." Lieutenant Doran is the first to report after the destruction of the Stiegl ships. "Commander, we're back in Federation space, but it would take at least 6 hours to reach the fleet." Commander Walker now has some time to inform his superior, Captain Harrison. "Mr Sonak send all the data we have, and the coordinates to the Colorado." 6 hours later... Aboard the USS Colorado, Captain Harrison has decided to go to the warzone. The Stiegl Doomship is surrounded by Klingon and federation Starships which have attacked the Stiegl Doomship without stopping. But there is no scratch on the Stiegl Doomship. It seems that there is nothing more to be done. There is even an Hirogen ship entering the battle and that Hirogen ship has started an attack run... While Captain Harrison and his officers are trying to decide what to do, the USS Explorer arrives at the battle scene. In the six hours the USS Explorer needed to get to the battle zone, Lieutenant Jones and her officers have examined more Stiegl data about the Stiegl Doomship. The Stiegl Doomship can be destroyed, but that will have as result that the weapon of the ship will be activated. The Galaxy will be destroyed if that happens. Lieutenant Jones immediately sees the dilemma. If nothing is done, eventually the weapon will be activated and the Galaxy will be destroyed. If the Stiegl Doomship is stopped or destroyed, the weapon will also be activated and the Galaxy wil be destroyed. So whatever happens, the Galaxy will be destroyed. While the USS Colorado is contacted by Commander Walker, Captain Harrison also understands the dilemma. "My goodness... So you are saying that whatever we do, destroying this Stiegl Doomship or not, this weapon will be activated and the Galaxy will be destroyed ?" Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper On Angel One all crewmembers of the USS Alice Cooper-B have been transported back to the ship. The only one left is Ambassador Jas Stevens, who has infiltrated the rebel group "The Rising Sons". But Stevens has already gathered evidence that the revolution of "The Rising Sons" is manipulated by Cardassians. Jas Stevens decides to go along with the Rising Sons while, at the same time, leaving his combadge active hidden it somewhere secure on his person -- sending back an audio transmission of everything going on, everything said, around him -- let the Alice Cooper-B hear everything being said and done, letting them and Starfleet decide how to proceed next. In a meeting with "The Rising Sons" there are two Cardassians. One of them is a Gul going by the name of Retek. It is not clear whether this is his real name, but it is clear he is a Gul, giving orders to his associate. "Where are those damn Romulans. They are always late. Glinn Jenne, try to contact them again." "Sir, isn't that dangerous with a Federation starship in orbit ? I don't think the Romulans would appreciate that we..." Gul Retek waves his hands and Jenne closes his mouth. Three Romulans are entering, escorted by one of the guards of "The Rising Sons". One of the Romulans immediately opens the conversation. Apparently the Romulans already know the Cardassians. "Gul Retek. It is good to see you. Did you have the packages ?" "Commander Mileth, I asume you had trouble again with that Federation ship." "It is not easy transporting from the ship to the surface without leaving a trace. We have identified the Federation ship as the USS Alice Cooper-B. We don't know much about the Captain of that ship, so we will not take any risks. You have it a little easier. You have been on this planet for several months already. The Federation is concentrating their war efforts towards that Stiegl Doomship. It is not of our concern. Eventually those filthy Klingons, bwhaa Federation pets, will do the job for the Federation no doubt. But like I said it is only in our advantage and it will weaken the Federation. But I have received new orders from the Tal Shiar. We have to leave and train a group of "The Rising Sons" so they can act with more efficiency." At this time the leader of "The Rising Sons" stands up, apparently insulted. "With all due respect and thanks to you for helping us, but may I say we have been efficient in destabilizing this planet..." Romulan Commander Mileth seems a bit surprised and while he probably would like to have said that he was talking to Gul Retek and that he didn't want to be interupted, he swallowed that because he knew he still needed these "Rising Sons". Angel One was the base to start all operations. All the work that had been done so far would be lost if "The Rising Sons" would turn against the Romulans and Cardassians. "Yes you did indeed. You made a lot of progress." And he quickly added, "That is why we want to train you even more so you can take over your planet as you deserve." These words apparently gave "The Rising Sons" encouragement. They cheered. The prospect of take over their planet made them very happy, but they knew they needed help from the Cardassians and Romulans to take over the planet and restore what "The Rising Sons" called the balance of the planet. But Romulan Commander Mileth continued. "So I need twenty volonteers to come to our ship. We will leave Angel One but we will return in three weeks. Sub-Commander Toras will be in command of a small Romulan detachement which will stay on Angel One to help you with your efforts. So who will go with me ?" Players: Crew of the Starship Starchild (Former USS Alice Cooper) Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) The Hirogen Hunting Vessel Ovion has entered a wormhole. The two Hirogen aboard, Horkan and Jotarn do not really know where the wormhole leads and they are not sure that they can return. The ride through the wormhole is longer than expected, especially because they can only maintain lower speed. The ship shakes and is thrown in al directions, but shields are holding and there is no damage when the Ovion exits the wormhole. But before Horkan and Jotarn realise it the wormhole has already closed behind them and they cannot go back. Jotarn checks the read outs of the sensors. "Horkan, look at this we are at least 70 thousand lightyears from where we were. We are in this... Federation... in the Alpha Quadrant, where we have heard about from the other hunters. We better cloak." "Yes, activate the cloak. Do you see ... Federation ships nearby." "A few lightyears from here... A lot of them... and they are in battle with... A very big Stiegl battleship." Horkan and jotarn cannot wait to have a closer look and set course to the coordinates where a growing Klingon fleet and a large Federation fleet is attacking a huge Stiegl battleship. but it seems that these fleets do not do much damage. It seems that this huge Stiegl battleship is undestructable. Listening to the communications within the Federation fleet, the two Hirogen hunters understand that this Stiegl ship is called the Stieg Doomship and that this Steigl Doomship has a weapon aboard that can destroy the entire galaxy... But the Hirogen know exactly what to do as Horkan says it. "We will Attack this huge Stiegl vessel. We will not let it destroy the galaxy. We are going to get this prey and we will be heroes." Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report February 2005 USS Earth The USS Moon arrives at its own time. Although there is little chance of risk, the USS Moon is cloaked just to be sure. Things have indeed changed. making contact with the Federation and downloading information is easier than everyone thought. This time luck seems to be on the side of the USS Moon crew, as Commodore T'Lok reports. "Admiral, if I were human, I would say that this is the future we have all been wishing for. The Federation is even larger than 40 years ago, there is more prosperity, and there has not been a war for more than 20 years. The current federation technology is comparable with ours. I suggest we contact Federation authorities and take our place back in Starfleet." Captain Steichen has read the most important subjects of Federation history, especially about the time, 40 years ago and what happened to the Stiegl Doomship. Apparently some kind of Borg nanites were used to stop the Stiegl Doomship. The nanites reprogrammed the target of the Doomship and lead the Doomship into a nearby star, where the heat of the star melted the Stiegl Doomship without the weapon being activated. Such nanites are aboard the USS Moon. It is of course not certain whether the crew of the USS Moon or USS Earth had anything to do with that. Of course there were the stories of Captain mechels and the USS Thunderbolt. The USS Thunderbolt had Borg aboard who could have done it, but that is not certain. There is nothing else to do than to ask Starfleet Command about the USS Thunderbolt, but apparently there are no records about Captain Mechels nor about the USS Thunderbolt. There is only information about the USS Thunderbolt firing on Federation starships, but that was years before the conflict with the Stiegls. After the appearance of the Stiegls and the Stiegl Doomship no records are available about the USS Thunderbolt. It is as if Captain Mechels and his ship have disappeared. The crew of the USS Moon has integrated very fast into the new Federation. And most of them are very happy to see their families again, who they have lost in the other time line. Some encounters are really emotional of crewmembers who have contact with their friends and families who had passed away in the other time line. At this time nobody of the USS Moon crew wants to go back in time. This is the future they have been dreaming about. The first assignments and first mission for the USS Moon comes in and Admiral Steichen also resumes her Starfleet duties. But first she has a little talk with her younger self, Captain Steichen. "Well I don't really know what happens next, but this future looks excellent. We don't know exactly what happened in the past, but apparently it worked and we did not really do it. But you do not exactly belong in this time. I have been thinking about this and I know I cannot force you to go back, but if not, we create a lot of time paradoxes about ourselves. But after what we have been through I don't really care. I can give you a shuttlecraft with a temporal device that can bring you back to the timeline where you belong. Or I can transport you to the USS Earth if you whish and you can continue your life... my life... as it should be. I don't know who stopped the Stiegl Doomship at the time, but if you want to be sure you should take the shuttlecraft and the nanites and put them on the Stiegl Doomship. That is the absolute way to be sure this timeline is saved. But that will be your decision. So what do you think ?" Captain Steichen decides to accept the offer of Admiral Steichen, take the shuttlecraft and get back to her own time at the location of the Stiegl Doomship. She will bring the nanites into the Stiegl Doomship. That is the only way to be sure this future is saved. If all of that works Captain Steichen will go back to the USS Earth and continue the exploration she have started. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 Major Lato and his team are of the Stiegl Doomship in time as Starfleet Command has planned what seems to be a last desperate attack on the Stiegl Doomship before it reaches Starbase 369. If the attack fails it is unlikely that Starbase 369 will survive. Message begins From Admiral Ethan Mondriaan, Starfleet Operations To all Starfleet Starships and Federation facilities After a brief contact with the new Stiegl Government, there is peace between our galaxies. They could give us vital information. Your attack pattern will be given to you 30 minutes before the battle begins. Good luck to all of us. End of message. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove receives permission to keep his ships around Starbase 369. First of all the Starbase 369 fleet could be the last line of defense to prevent that the Stiegl Doomship collides on Starbase 369 and second a few more ships will probably not matter in the upcoming battle. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove's ships can always be called later during the battle if necessary. They are closeby... The only ship in the fleet of Commodore Van Nieuwenhove that does not participate in the upcoming battle actively is the freighter USS Carry, under command of Commander Jeffrey Dunn. But As the USS Carry is not really needed to help Starbase 369, it is loaded with war supplies, loads of torpedoes and spare parts. Commander Dunn gives his orders as soon as the ship is fully loaded. "Helm, get us out to the battlefield. Let's hope they don't need us, but if they do, we will get in..." Aboard Starbase 369, Commodore Van Nieuwenhove and his officers have a meeting to talk about what to do in the upcoming hours. Of course there are officers who prefer total evacuation. But the Commodore is open to all ideas. Chief of Security, Commander Carlo Demaggio, gives a report about the battle status of Starbase 369. "Commodore, we have 24 torpedo launchers, 48 type 10 phaser emitters, Primary and partial secondairy shields. In case our weapons have no effect, according our calculations the collision with a ship as huge as the Stiegl Doomship will result in the destruction of one quarter of the Stiegl Doomship. Our Starbase will be totally destroyed. Our offensive and defensive systems can be operated by only 17 people. may I remind the Commodore that these 17 people will most like not survive this. Our shields will be up until the last possible moment and these 17 officers will not be able to be transported of the starbase." Chief of Operations, Commander Vera Johnsson, gives her report about a possible evacuation. "Commodore, there are almost 14 thousand people aboard Starbase 369. With our fleet of seven ships closeby we can evacuate the entire Starbase in less than two hours. We also have 12 Runabouts which can evacuate 40 people each if necessary." After the meeting all officers return to their duty stations. It is clear that Commodore Van Nieuwenhove needs time to think. The Commodore stays alone in the breefing room. But then something extraordinary happens. Behind the Commodore there is a noise. When Geert Van nieuwenhove turns around he sees some kind of spirit in the human female form. He can see right through the spirit, but it is clearly a female Starfleet officer. The Commodore is confused. "What are you and what are your intensions ?" But the spirit's answer is very short. "Keep up hope..." Then the spirit disappeares. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove wants to keep up hope. He sends his ships to help with the large scale attack on the Stiegl Doomship. With this massive huge enormous attack the Stiegl Doomship most likely will be destroyed and there will be nothing to worry about. Of course... The upcoming attack could fail and then Starbase 369 is in trouble... Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt Admiral Stredder has not yet received an answer from the USS Thunderbolt. Stredder can only hope that Thunderbolt Captain Mechels will help the Federation and the Klingons in destroying the Stiegl Doomship. But there is no answer yet... And things get worse as there is an incoming message from Starfleet Command... Admiral Stredder does not have a choice. He has to join the already large fleet of Federation and Klingon ships to prepare a large scale attack on the Stiegl Doomship. Aboard the USS Thunderbolt Captain Mechels and his First Officer Commander Antwerps has a meeting with the three Borg drones who have come aboard the USS Thunderbolt form the future. The fact that they address eachother in a Master-Lord configuration is strange indeed, but Borg drone Master One explains. "When we assimilated Lord Lamu, we not only changed him into a Borg, but we also assimilated everything he knew, the qualities of his exsistance. It is of course logical that we try to improve ourselves and we took from Lord Lamu what we can use to improve ourselves. Lord Lamu is gifted with a special force, we did not have, but we do have that same kind of force as well. This force is a living force, like nanites, but then much more sophisticated and alive. We now live in symbiosys with the living force. You would call this living force microscopic organisms. But the living force is much more than that. This force is connected throughout the entire universe. So we can have contact with all who is also living with the force. The further away though the less contact there is, but every disturbance in the force we will feel." Captain Mechels understands, but he still has some questions. "Has this force taken over your bodies ? Do you have to do what the force forces you to do ? How does it work ?" "It is a bit to complex to explain it all. The force is very much compatible with us as we are also a collective. But the force also teaches us more about the universe itself. But we still make our own decisions and use the force to accomplish the goals we have. Of course you could think about the Borg Collective, but you have to remember we are evolved Borg and the Borg Collective as you know it is for us only a primitive ancestor from centuries ago. Anyone living with the force, who tries to misuse the force, will be punished by the force itself, like the Stiegl Leaders. We, Borg are more logical and not emotional creatures, living without greed or selfish motivation. We are a collective. Speaking for ourselves here, this is a collective of three. It is a small collective but still a collective. We try to better ourselves by learning, not like our ancestors who tried to improve thmeselves by conquering and assimilation. We do not assimilate if it is not necessary. We had to assimilate Lord Lamu as that was the only way the Stiegl Leaders could be defeated. In fact the force with Lord Lamu approved the assimilation. Otherwise we never could have assimilated Lord Lamu." Commander Antwerps is speachless. All what she has heard about the Borg is not to be found within these Borg. But there is more. "We can stop that Stiegl doomship easily. We have programmed nanites who can infiltrate the Stiegl circuits and change the course of that ship right into a star. The melting process of the ship itself in the star will not cause the weapon to go of and the galaxy will not be in danger. But Captain Mechels, we consider us as part of your crew and therefore you will have to make the decision. We can only advice..." "Commander, sorry to interupt, but we have received a message from Kirie Station. they have received a message from Starfleet Head Quarters. I thought you, the Captain and Mister Countor and Mister Husson should see this." They could give us vital information. Your attack pattern will be given to you 30 minutes before the battle begins. Good luck to all of us. End of message. The message is very much disturbing, but apparently there is nothing the USS Walang crew nor the Trax can do about it. If the entire Federation fleet together with the Klingons cannot handle it, one more ship will make no difference. It has become very important now to find the Gnodes. If indeed the technology of the Gnodes ios so far more superior, maybe they can help. It is as if the Gnodes have heard the Captain and her crew, or did they finally receive the communications from Mister Husson who used the Gnodes channels to try to contact his own people. Chief of Operations, Lieutenant Commander John Strauss reports. "Captain. I am sorry to interupt again, but could you come to the bridge please. I think you should see this for yourself." Husson, Countor, Commander Bellafonte and Captain Hendriks. On the mauin viewer they see two ships. One of them is that Stiegl ship they have captured on the Stiegl base and the other... "That is one of ours. Captain Hendriks. That is a Gnode scoutship. I know it well. I can even fly it." The Gnode Husson embraces Captain Hendriks in a very emotional moment. Countor is speachless, but clearly overjoyed. Husson gets back to reality and addresses the commanding officer of the Gnode scoutship. "Reolta sireno carelan. Greetings. I am Sub-Sergeant Husson, 65th Detachement." The answer comes immediately. "Reolta Sub-Sergeant Husson. Your identity is confirmed. Are you a prisoner on that alien ship ? We will free you don't worry." More Gnode ships appear out of nowhere. Suddenly there seems to be an entire fleet, 6 huge battleships, 12 carriers, more than 20 destroyers, and an uncountable number of scoutships, fighters and supply ships. The USS Walang is surrounded. But Husson immediately sees the misunderstanding. "No no no. I am not a prisoner. I am a guest aboard the USS Walang, a starship of the United Federation Of Planets. The Captain of this ship and her crew are far away from home. They traveled here with the Trax to find our new home planet. They are explorers. That is the good news. There is also bad news..." Husson tells all about the Federation and the Federation policy of peaceful exploration but also about the threat of the Stiegl Doomship and that the Federation has no means to stop the threat. And of course Husson introduces the Trax and their leader Countor. The Gnode fleet commander, General Kollon appears on the main viewer. He seems more than a little enthousiastic. "Reolta Sub-Sergeant Husson. Reolta Captain Hendriks... Reolta Countor of the Trax and all the Trax." It is silent for a very short moment as if the General searches for words. But then he lets himself go. He almost shouts. "The Trax are here ! Inform the the government. Let us remember this day with the most of joys. Mister Countor, you and the Trax are more than welcome to our new homeworld. You too Captain Hendriks and your crew, of course. Mister Countor I would like to appologize in the name of my entire species, the Gnodes, that we had to leave the Trax by yourself. We had to move on in order to preserve our species. I hope the Trax will understand." Countor who is not really disturbed by the Gnodes who left their region, but came on this voyage more out of curiosity, has no problems accepting the appology from General Kollon. But Countor is also a diplomat. "In the name of my species the Trax, I accept your appologies and I am very happy we have found the Gnodes. Now that we have discovered space travel again, I hope the Gnodes and the Trax can be friends for always." It is clear General Kollon is touched by Countor's words. But reality calls and there is still the matter of the Stiegl Doomship on its way to destroy the entire galaxy and so also the Gnodes and the Trax... Captain Hendriks asks the Gnodes if they are able to stop the Stiegl Doomship, Husson also should give his advice. If the Gnodes can do it, they should. If the Stiegl Doomship is demolished a celebration will be taking place... A report to Starfleet Command is sent. Commodore Slater has ordered not to do an investigation at this time about the circomstances of the fight between Lieutenant Commander Matz group and the special operations team of Major Lato. There are more important things at this time and all the teams aboard the Stiegl Doomship have not come up with a sollution anyway. Day 7 08.19 Lieutenant Commander Matz has been operated as some injuries were heavy. When she wakes up, she does not know where she is nor who she is. Apparently a blow on her head was the cause of amnesia. Lieutenant Commander Matz does not remember anything... At this time A message comes in from Starfleet Command that a large scale attack will be coordinated against the Stiegl Doomship within the hour. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg Entering the warzone the USS Iceberg takes a position. Then Atad has some very disturbing news. Atad has found the same information as Lieutenant Ally Jones aboard the USS Explorer. "Colonel, the Stiegl Doomship can be destroyed, but that will have as result that the weapon of the ship will be activated. The Galaxy will be destroyed if that happens. If nothing is done, eventually the weapon will be activated and the Galaxy will be destroyed. If the Stiegl Doomship is stopped or destroyed, the weapon will also be activated and the Galaxy will be destroyed. So whatever happens, the Galaxy will be destroyed. If the Stiegl weapon is activated at this location at least 80 percent of the Galaxy will be destroyed. Only part of Borg space will remain..." And Major bell brings some more bad news. "Colonel Sir, the Stiegl Doomship is on a direct course towards Starbase 369. If nothing is done about that, the Starbase will be lost. Commodore Geert Van Nieuwenhove in command of Starbase 369 will evacuate the Starbase if necessary." Colonel Crow has a plan. "What if all the ship use their tractorbeams and lock on to the Stiegl Doomship. Atad developes a machine that can create a subspace time frame with which we can take the Doomship back into Stiegl space and that will happen so fast it will not know what happened. When it knows what happened it will explode or the Stiegls will shut it of. Either way it is no longer a problem. Good plan so far as I can see no down side. OK. Let's go for it !!!" Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado There is only one answer possible. "That is correct Captain. there is a special forces team aboard the Stiegl Doomship. They have a Stiegl rebel with them. After the Stiegl government has been eliminated, the Stiegl rebels have taken over. There is peace with the Stiegls now sir, but nobody seems to be able to stop that Stiegl Doomship, not even that Stiegl Rebel." This is all very important information. Aboard the USS Colorado and USS Explorer plans have to be made. Lieutenant Doran suggests to go back in time, try to find out where this particular Stiegl Doomship is made and then sabotage it or even destroy it before it leaves for the Alpha Quadrant in our home galaxy. But then word comes in from Admiral Ethan Mondriaan, Starfleet Operations. It is now clear the Federation does not know that if the Stiegl ship is destroyed, the weapon automaticly will be activated. With about 4 thousand ships ready to attack Captain Harrison thinks that this attack almost cannot fail and if it does, the galaxy will be destroyed. Aboard the USS Colorado a last meeting is held. Aboard the USS Explorer Commander Walker, Lieutenants Doran, Sonak and Jones also follow the meeting where Captain Harrison is first to speak. Besides as soon as we have those idiots from Angel One on this ship, we can train them, and later use them to our advantage. Nobody will ever suspect us." "And the Cardassians ?" "Don't worry about the Cardassians. We already have many operatives on Cardassia Prime. We can take over the Cardassians any time. They are weak. Look at them. Horkan has understood. He fires the weapons." "Multiple direct hits. There is little result. Only very minimal damage. At this rate of attacks it will take... Several years to destroy this Stiegl Doomship. We have to come up with a weakness of this ship sho we can destroy it." The Federation and the Klingons also have seen that their attacks should be more concentrated. It is Jotarn who finds out by intercepting Federation communications. "Harkon, look at this. The Federation and these Klingons want to coordinate a massive attack. This is the main message we have intercepted." Harkon looks at the display where the message is shown. If only the entire Hirogen fleet was here, this would be the battle of the century. The Hirogen would surely win this battle. But at this time Harkon and Jotarn are the only Hirogen participating in this battle. Horkan sees that there is no choice here. "We will join the Federation and Klingon forces and join the big attack on the Stiegl Doomship with them. One Hirogen ship is worth ten federation ships, so it could make a difference. Jotarn, let the Federation and Klingons know that we will join them in battle." Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report April 2005 USS Earth With the USS Moon returned to its own time and everything is again as it should be, the USS Earth under command of Commodore Christine Steichen sets course to the region where the crew of the USS Earth hopes to contact the Ztebana. Little is known about this species... There are two other Federation starships exploring this region of space, but going in a totally different direction than the USS Earth. These are the USS Leibnitz, under command of Captain Acerta and the USS Unity, under command of Captain Veracruz. With the elimination of the Stiegl threat there have been installed more Federation embassies in the region as well. The closest embassy for the USS Earth is the embassy at K-982 where Ambassador K'nol is very successful in maintaining good reslations with at least six local species. One of those species, the Monaren, are even candidate to become member of the United Federation of Planets. Especially the Monaren are very thankful towards the Federation because it was the Federation who stopped the Stiegl threat... The following weeks there is only excitement for the scientists aboard the USS Earth. There are no inhabited planets between the Monaren Kingdom and the Ztebana. It is a voyage of 9 weeks in which the daily routine is only interupted by a few battle drills. But the scientists gather huge amounts of data, enough to keep them busy for the next year. And then finally the USS Earth arrives in orbit of the Ztebana home planet. But the first reports are discouraging. "Commodore, our sensors do not detect any traces of intelligent life. I suggest we send a few probes and launch a satelite to explore thi planet further. It is of course possible that the Ztebana are a shy species and they are hiding to be sure we are no threat to them. I have tried to make contact on all frequencies, but there is no reply until now." "Keep scanning Lieutenant. And report on the results of the probes as soon as you have anything useful." A few days pass by, but there is no contact with anyone or anything which can be called intelligent life. The probes have done their work, but there is nothing very important to be found. The images and the oxigen-nitrogen atmosphere look promissing and the planet looks like paradise. On the suggestion of First Officer Commander T'Lok Commodore Steichen sends an away team including Doctor Klemen, two biologists a geologist and two security officers, under command of Lieutenant Jonta. It is Jonta's first command over an away team mission, but this one looks simple enough so Jonta has the honor to command the away team. On the planet Jonta's team spread out a little and agree that this is indeed a planet they could call paradise. Flowers are beautiful, the small river closeby provides pure water and when the away team asks to setup camp Jonta gets permission to do so. Whent he first tents are set and the group prepares to spend the night on the planet it is security officer, Ensign Zanar who starts to feel a bit tired. At first Doctor Klemen doens't think much of it, but when Ensign Zanar wakes up in the middle of the night, screaming the entire camp is on alert. Zanar's body is covered with all kinds of red spots and he has a high fever. Doctor Klemen can stop the fever, but cannot find anything which causes the red spots. As the Doctor wants to report the satus of Ensign Zanar to Lieutenant Jonta he notices that Jonta is not there. The Doctor's suspicion comes alive when he enters Jonta's tent. The young Lieutenant lies on the floor, shaking with fever and also covered with the same red spots as Ensign Zanar. The Docotr has no choice, but to contact the USS earth in orbit. What seemd to be paradise, is becoming a disaster when one of the biologists, Ensign Mordal also starts getting a few red spots on his arms. "USS Earth, this is Doctor Klemen. We have a medical emergency. Some of the away team members have been infected. I cannot find the cause. We need to send them to sickbay immediately. Some of them are in bad shape and could possibly die. I don't know whether it is this planet, or something we ate or drank, but I recommend to keep us all in isolation until a cure is found." Doctor Klemen feels something on his right leg. In a hurry he has a look. His fear is becoming true. He also has some red spots on his leg... Some of the away team members are getting really sick and in time they can only be saved in the USS Earth sicbay. Captain Steichen will get those away team members back aboard and let the doctors try to heal them in a closed environment, with forcefields if necessary. The EMH can enter the closed environment without any danger for contamination. The transporer system should be able to filter out all enemy bacteria and viruses. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 Entering his quarters Commodore Van Nieuwenhove again sees the spirit like creature again. Maybe it is the long day followed by the party... No it is not. Whatever he does the spirit stays. Then the spirit starts to talk. "You must help us. Our world is unstable, almost destroyed. You have a ship close to us. Please help us. We need evacuation." The spirit points to the terminal on the Commodore's desk. The terminal shows the USS Starmaker, a ship of the Commodore's fleet, under command of Vulcan Captain T'kon. The USS Starmaker is doing some routine patrol crossing the border of the jurisdiction of Starbase 369. This region is called no man's land. It is not interesting enough for the Federation to explore as there are no inhabited planets. According the last scan by a deep space probe 9 weeks ago in search of Stiegls or Stiegl technology, there were not even more than 5 planets. Some stars in this region do not even have a planet. everyone aboard the USS Starmaker is happy the war ended in favour of the Federation and Klingons. But they also know there might be some Stiegl renegades hiding in this part of the Galaxy. Captain T'kon has put his ship on yellow alert. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove knows Captain T'kon is a very good Captain and he will make the best decisions. The Commodore looks at the viewscreen of his terminal and then to the Spirit next to him. If the spirit wanted to do any harm, he could have done it earlier. Aboard the USS Starmaker the Chief of Operations has just received a distress call from the planet of the Spirits people. The planet is almost literally falling apart and it will not take more than a few hours to total destruction. "Captain. If we want to save these people we have to do it fast. there are only 16 of them. I have a transporter lock sir." But the science chief who is also a geologist has something to add. "Captain I have never seen anything like this planet falling apart. Only the recordings of the explosion of Praxis, the Klingon moon, remember that one sir. This disaster sir, I don't believe it has a natural cause sir." Starbase 369 receives the report on the situation of the USS Starmaker. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove gives his orders. "Send some more ships in case these people need support. Although there are only a few, the destabilisation of their planet is probably not caused by a natural phenomena. It could have been an attack of some kind..." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt After the USS Thunderbolt has had the chance to visit their families the ship of Commodore Mechels is on its way to pick upi the last of the crew, on its way to the borders of Federation space. After the former renegade ship puts itself into orbit of Walimaru II a small reception is held when the crew is complete when Ensign Joplana and Lieutenant Malory are transported aboard. After a few hours Commodore Mechels decides it is time to start the first official mission under the flag of the Federation again. All crew take their stations, Master One is on the bridge, and the USS Thunderbolt breaks orbit of Walimaru II. A few moments later the ship jumps to warp and sets course to sector 166544, where the crew hopes to find new civilizations. With the war against the Stiegls the federation again needs new allies and Federation policy for new members has been made a little easier. It will be Commodore Mechel's mission to find new allies for the Federation, but it will not be an easy task. The region of space outside the Federation is large. There is also the danger for the Federation to spread the fleet to wide, which could lead to defensive problems. But there is no choice. The first star system visited outside the Federation is the Poneru system. The Poneru system has six planets of which the sixth and the fifth are gas giants and there is nothing more to find there. The first and second planet are very close to the Poneru star and are uninhabitable. To the surprise of the Thunderbolt crew the 3rd and the 4th planets are class-M planets, but tho their disappointment there does not seem to be any intelligent life on poneru IV the first of the two planets visited by the USS Thunderbolt. Just when Commodore Mechels wants to give the order to leave and proceed to Poneru III, Chief of Operations Lieutenant Commander Leeloo Brussels has some news. "Commodore, sensors detect a very weak energy signature. I cannot say what exactly this is, so I recommend to send an away team to have a closer look." There is no objections from the Borg, who are the practical safeguards of the ship and Commodore mechels sends an away team to the planet surface close to the source of the energy signature. Lieutenant Carlito in command of the away team reports. "USS Thunderbolt. We have found a small structure. We think it is some kind of grave or something. We have found no remains, but we have found some kind of artifact. It is a sphere, fourty centimers in diameter, with a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. This sphere has no buttons or other significant forms. The sphere emits gamma radiation, but far below dangerous levels. The sphere seems to be harmless. We think it is something left behind by an alien species, but thousands of years ago. It is still intreging that this object still seems to work. But I cannot say what it is, or what it is supposed to do. We can bring it aboard and examine it further." On the main viewer the bridge crew sees Lieutenant Carlito standing in front of a small pedestall on which a green metal sphere is resting. It is not clear what this artifact is meant for. The Borg have not seen such an artifact before... Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang Now that the Gnodes have been reunited with the Trax and the mission of the USS Walang is a success, it is time to move on. Captain Hendriks wants to stay with the Gnodes as long as they can, but Starfleet Head Quarters has to be informed and new orders probably will come in soon. Captain Hendriks may use Gnodes technology to communicate with Starfleet Head Quarters. She also has convinced the Gnodes to let te crew of Station Kirie use this technology as well. This way of communication saves several weeks. When the Gnodes hear the Trax have also met the Kirie, they are even more excited. The Gnodes met the Kirie hundreds of years ago and they became friends. But the contact with the Kirie has now been restored thanks to the federation station Kirie set up by the crew of Captain Hendriks. Three species have so been reunited after so much time... Then the new orders for Captain Hendriks are coming in. It is Admiral Hundocan, who appears on the main viewer of the USS Walang, addressing Captain Hendriks. "Congratulations Captain Hendriks. It is not everyday that species are reunited after such a long time. Well now that you are there, we have some new orders for you. About 120 lightyears away from where you are, we have sent a deep space probe of which we did not receive any signal for 23 years. The last data sent by this probe, was at a planet designated as ML-66. The probe had established orbit for almost one day, but then fell to the planet and the signal was lost. The planet seemed to be inhabitable for humanoids, but it is not certain any intelligent life lives on ML-66." "Understood Admiral. We may use the technology of the Gnodes to keep in touch. So you will hear from us soon. It will take 30 days to get to ML-66, but you can expect a report by then." "Excellent. I am looking forward to your report. Hundocan out." A few days later the Starfleet vessel USS Walang leaves Gnodes territory. With some starmaps received from the Gnodes it will not be difficult to find ML-66. During the 30 days voyage, the USS Walang crew is able to contact their family and friends thanks to the Gnodes' communication technology. And when the USS Walang arrives at ML-66, nobody is homesick. "Captain we have established a standard orbit. There is no sign of intelligent life, no structures, only flora, no fauna, not even small animals. There are just trees and plants. It looks a bit like paradise Captain. At first sight, I would recommend this planet for colonisation." "Very well Commander. I will consider your idea about colonisation. Have you found the probe ?" "As a matter of fact Captain, I have. Federation technology is easy to find on a world with only plant life." Captain Hendriks asks First Officer Commander Bellafonte to assemble an away team and transport to the planet. When Bellafonte finds the probe he scans it and comes to a simple conclusion. He reports to Captain Hendriks. "Captain. This planet indeed seems like paradise. We have found the probe. It has been recording until about 19 years ago. So it has been recording for 4 years after it landed on the plannet. The the power of the probe was ended. Actually these 4 years extra scanning of the planet has been a real success. These kind of probes were designed to only function for about a month after landing on a planet." "Examine the probe. There must be data in the probe's computer which can explain what has happened in the last days or hours of the probe's activities." Captain Hendriks turns around to Lieutenant Shivers. "Ask Admiral Hundocan at Starfleet Head Quarters for orders waht to do with the probe and this planet." Before Doctor Lever starts the operation, Commodore Slater visits sickbay to have a look at Matz. Day 7 16.35 Doctor Dorm Lever starts the operation on Lieutenant Commander Matz. the opration is a bit more complicated than expected. Day 8 9.16 Lieutenant Commander Matz is awake, but she cannot move yet. Commodore Slater is the first visitor. Matz is fine, the operation was a success. She even remembers who she is. But it will take some time before she will be fit for duty again. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The crew of the USS Lightning has taken a well deserved vacation. But now it is time to go. They pack up their gear. transport to their ship and take their stations. Colonel Crow has the call. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado "Vacation is over everyone. Who is not aboard, will not go with us and stay behind in shame..." It is clear Captain Harisson had some vacation. His mood is more than positive. Chief Engineer Lieutenant Torak has just asured the Captain the ship is more than ready to leave Starbase 11. Coming from a Vulcan, that means a lot to the Captain. The USS Colorado is the only starship in spacedock and it is immediately cleared to leave and go to the adventure called space. The docking port is closed and released. Slowly at thruster speed the Galaxy class USS Colorado moves out spacedock, through the huge spacedock doors into space, clear and free to navigate. The entire crew is very happy to cross space at warp speed again. Captain Harrison calls his senior officers in the breefing room and now everyone realises vacation is really over. When all officers are seated captain Harrison explains the orders of this mission. "Now this is basicly the mission for the upcoming two or even three years. We have to find new friends, so the Federation will get stronger. All the last wars have cost a lot for the Federation. That is no secret, and we have met enemies with superior technology that we could only stop by things like time travel. So we are going to leave Federation space and go straight forward until we find another form of civilization. That is all. It seems very simple, it will probably be not that simple, but we will map a lot of stars, meet new species and hopefully make new friends. On our route we will visit a list of inhabitable planets, scanned by deep space probes. Firts planet on the list is designated as D-34. OK that is it about this mission. Now about ships operations..." The meeting continues for another hour. Then all officers return to their duties. The next weeks are filled with regular diagnostics, fine tuning the warp engines and battle drills on unexpecting moments. Finally the moment has come that the USS Colorado has visual contact with the planet called D-34. But there is no trace of any advanced technology on this planet. There are no satelites no sign of space travel, and no warp traces. When the USS Colorado enters standard orbit around D-34, closer scans are conducted. Some small settlements are being detected. The total population is spread on one continent where about 600 thousand humanoids live in a society comparable with the Earth Roman era about 300 A.C. Two antropologists ask Lieutenant Jones that she does a good word for them to visit this planet maybe undetected behind a holographic setup to study this society... "Captain I don't see any harm in conducting some scientific research." And Captain Harrison agrees with his first officer. Now the only thing they have to do is get organised. "How many people would it take to setup a base?" "We could this in few hours, we can spare a crew of 60, including offciers. Set up a base at these co-ordinates, and another base here." "Alrigh number one, provide the two teams with everything they need for six month." Lieutenant Jones is informed. "Walker to Lt Jones." "Jones here sir." "Lt. prepare two teams, and some antropolgists." "For how long?" "ix months, you have a mission on D-34. You have 30 minutes, after that I want a meeting the two team leaders. You'll be in comand of one team and Lt. Pepe Gonzaullas of the second team." "alker to Sonak." "This is Sonak here Commander, what can I do for you?" "Can you prepare a defence system for a radience for at least one square mile all around for two bases, I like to see it in 30 minutes in my quarters." "Comander, should I prepare I security team for the two bases?" "Prepare two teams of 10 officers." Captain Harrison comes up with the necessary duty roster. "Number one, this is list of the crew best trained for a mission like this." "Thank you. Walker to Ensign Woodrow." "This Ensign Woodrow Patrick, what can I do for you Comander?" "Enisgn I have mission for you, please report to Lt. Jones in the Science Lab. And Ensign bring your writings and books on the Roman empire." "Yes sir!!!" "Walker to Lt. Torak." "Torak here comander how may I help?" "Torak, were have some large equipment transported the the planet surface these are the coordinates. Also prepare a team to transport down to see it's arival." "I will prepare the Transporters in the cargo bay, they will be ready in 10 minutes." "Torak here comander, the teams are transported the their locations. All the equipment has also been transported." "Thank you Mr Torak." With everyone assembled Commander Walker is very pleased. "Thank you, this looks perfect. The two leaders will prepare a schedule, and report in an standard timeframe to eachother. That's it people, Lt. Ganzuallas and Lt Jones your teams are waiting." When the teams are set off on D-34, on the bridge of the USS Colorado things return to normal. Captain Harrison is ready to continue the mission. "Everything went well presume number one." "Yes sir." "Very good number one, our next mission is!!!" But Lieutanant Sonak seems to have no intention to a next mission. "Captain I'm resieving a message for Comander Walker, proirty one!!!" Captain harrison is surprised and when he turns around... "Who from." "The message is from the Romulans, from Comander T'Lor." Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper Aboard the USS Alice Cooper-B Captain Kalee is only partial informed about what happened on Angel One by Ambassador Stevens, who can only contact the ship when he is alone. During these communications time is short. Captain Kalee has ordered his ship away from Angel One to a distance still in communications range with Ambassador Stevens. Kalee simulates a warp drive failure, so his presence at these coordinates, in the middle of nowhere can be explained if there are any questions asked. Sensors of the USS Alice Cooper-B have detected Romulan and Cardassian life signs, which worries Kalee. He contacts Starfleet Command and asks for new orders. Starfleet Command has already taken all ships out of the sector. This situation has to be handled in a very discreet way. The Romulans and Cardassians may not know the Federation is on to them. On Angel One Beatta III has no clue whatsoever what is going on on her planet. She rules almost blindly and lets her administration run the planet. She has no idea that the Romulans and Cardassians are plotting together to overthrow the power in the Alpha Quadrant. If the attempts of the Cardassiansa and Romulans fail Angel One and Beatta III in particular would be blamed and accused, maybe even convicted... But even unknown to Beatta III, one of her agents who is following the actions of "The Rising Sons" from very closeby. This agent has seen that people, not from this world, have infiltrated "The Rising Sons". At the table the rebel group has made a new plan to blow up the Building of Trafic, a status symbol to the Angel One women society. The plan looks simple enough. The attack is planned for this night, when the building is empty. Some of the rebel group do not agree why these attacks always have to be at night and some others are already that far that they want to attack the home of Beatta III herself, to make a clear statement... whatever the consequences... But the initial plan is approved and the Building of Trafic will be bombed tonight. The group of "The Rising Sons" then seperates and all of them prepare themselves in private for this new attack. All of them are convinced these attacks are necessary to put preasure on Beatta III to treat men and women equally. Ambassador Stevens has retreated himself in a small room to pack some food and some equipment. It is an unique opportunity to contact the USS Alice Cooper-B. Just as Stevens wants to take his communicator, he hears someone is at his door. Quickly he puts his communicator away, just in time as someone enters his room without knocking and without a word. The person is not recognisable in a large cloak, and his face covered with body paint. With a soft voice the person addresses Ambassador Stevens. "There is not much time. My name is not important. I know you are an agent of the Federation. I need your help to convince Beatta III that the Romulans and Cardassians are behind "The rising Sons". You must come with me... now." Players: Crew of the Starship Starchild (Former USS Alice Cooper) Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) The two Hirogens contact the Federation to ask whether they have a way for them to go back to the Delta Quadrant, but there is no way the federation can help them. There is a Federation scientist who advices the Hirogen to go to a planet called Jektana II. Legend of the local people say that people have been sent from that planet all over the universe. Although this is only legend and the people living on Jektana II are rather primitive, Horkan and Jotarn do not have much choice. They set a course and jump to warp to arrive at Jektana II in only two weeks. They transport to the planet surface leaving their ship, the Ovion cloaked into orbit. The Ovion will not be detected and is safe this way. Both Hirogen take no risk. heavily armed they walk into a small village where the legend says people are send all over the universe. The primitive villagers first are afraid of the big Hirogen, but when they see there is no danger and the newcomers, Hirogen only want to ask a few questions, the assemble and try to communicate. One older man points to a temple and signals to follow him. The two Hirogen follow the old man into the temple, followed by the rest of the village. In the middle of the temple there is a large ring, about four meters in diameter with all kinds of symbols on it. A few meters in front of the ring there is a pedestal with two rings, coverend with some kinds of buttons with similar symbols. In the middle of the rings, there is a large red button. It is clear to both Hirogen that this ring is a transport device. The only thing they have to know is how it works and where this transporter will lead. There are lots of symbols, so combinations are almost unlimited. Then the old man points to the walls of the temple. The walls have a lot of inscriptions. Horkan experienced in anthropology and exobiology, combined with the computer skill of Jotarn, it is rather simple to decipher the symbol coding. The small device with the red button is some kind of console on which symbols can be pressed and form some kind of address. The large ring is called a stargate. Six symbols, chevrons, are needed to form a destination, and the last and seventh symbol, chevron, is the symbol of the place of origin. Jotarn unpaks some small microprobes and the testing begins. The first code is pushed in. After the seventh symbol is activated a large fluid like substance is thrown out of the stargate and immediately afterwards sucked back in to become stable in the stargate itself. The large stargate ring looks like a horizontal swimming pool. Jotarn launches the probe. Through the communications with the Ovion, the Hirogen find out where the planet is located. When long range sensors make contact with the Hirogen communication network, through the network, the probe is found on a planet in the Delta Quadrant. Both Jotarn and Horkan are very happy. But they both realise that if the go through this gateway, they will have to leave their ship behind at the planet Jektana II. Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report April 2005 USS Earth The Ztebana home planet is a big disappointment for the away team send over from the USS Earth. All members are struck by an unknown illness and the entire away team under command of Lieutenant Jonta is transported back to the ship, to sickbay behind a forcefield. The EMH checks every away team member. Everyone is very much releaved when the EMH comes to the conclusion that the away team members are cured, but the EMH also has some bad news. "Doctor Numbo, it is strange that indeed everyone has been cured from the illness, but not Lieutenant Jonta. I am afraid the illness has been getting worse for Lieutenant Jonta. It is like he has taken over the cause of the illness of the others. There is nothing more I can do for him. We have to wait." It is agreed that all away team members have to be secured and they are transported to the holodeck to give them as much confort as they can have, behind forcefields. One of the away team members, doctor Klemen keeps testing the away team members for anything he can find, but without result. Doctor Numbo does not leave sickbay and has the EMH take care of Lieutenant Jonta. But there is indeed nothing he can do, then wait and hope... In the upcoming day the condition of Lieutenant Jonta is getting worse. It is as if this illness is taking over Jonta's body. According Federation regulations First Officer Commander T'Lok has send warning buoys around the planet Ztebana home planet to warn travelers not to go to the planet. It is as if the entire crew sympathizes with Lieutenant Jonta as they all know that maybe one day they could be in the same situation. And then suddenly without any warning Lieutenant Jonta stands up from the biobed. He looks at the EMH and starts to speak. "We are Ztebana. We apologize for this way of communication with you. You are a hologram. Where..." Lieutenant Jonta turns around and looks at doctor Numba. "We are Ztebana. We apologize for this way of communication with you. We have no choice. Your species is incompatible with us. It has taken us some time to study your species. The one you call Lieutenant Jonta is all right. He has given us permission to use his body to speak with you. We am afraid that as long as we are in his body, you cannot speak to Lieutenant Jonta." Doctor Numba slowly gets up. Just as he wants to answer Commodore Steichen enters sickbay. Doctor Numba reports about the situation. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 As a support for the USS Starmaker the USS Sunrise and USS Cruiser are send to the planet of the Spirits people. The planet has partly exploded and is falling apart. Aboard the USS Starmaker the 16 surviving Spirits people are beamed aboard. All 16 of them are in good condition and the spirit in the office of Commodore Van Nieuwenhove is very happy. "Commodore. My name is Fjulita. I am an explorer of the Spirits people. My team and I have been seperated during the war with the Stiegls. My unit commander and my team are now save. Thank you. We are in your debt. We have asked one of our own ships to rescue our team, but there was none of our ships close enough to do that. I can asure you that we had nothing to do with the exploding of the planet itself. We also believe there must have been an unnatural cause. But we do not know what that could be. Now that we are all save it does not really matter anymore. One of our ships will pick us up and take us home." Fjulita explains to Commodore Van Nieuwenhove that the Spirits people communicate telepathicly and that distance between Spirits people does not matter for this communication, except that it is a bit slower if the distance between them is large. While Commodore Van Nieuwenhove learns more about the Spirits people, abaord the USS Starmaker the arrival of the USS Sunrise and USS Cruiser is reported. The Spirits people are safe, more ships have arrived to secure the region and Captain T'kon is finds it logical to return the Spirits people back to their home. While the three Federation ships wait for the ship of the Spirits people to pick them up the three crews try to find the cause of the planet's explosion. More than half of the planet is already floating in space in bits and pieces. The remaining part still has a breathable atmosphere. And all three ships concentrate their scans on that part. It is not certain that part will be destroyed, but it is most likely. Then suddenly aboard the USS Starmaker the Chief of operations has a surprising but also disturbing report. "Captain, sensors detect Romulan life forms on the remaining part of the planet that is still in tact. There are 6 Romulans sir. No sign of a ship. Sir that large piece of the planet is falling apart. If we want those Romulans to be saved, we should do it now." "Security to transporter rooms 3 and 4. Transport three Romulans to transporter room 3 and three of them to transporter room 4. Now." The Romulans are transported aboard the USS Starmaker. None of them is hurt. They are all fine. The leader of the Romulan group explains to Captain T'kon that they are a group of scientists studying the geology of this particular planet as it was going to fall apart due to gravimetrical forces. A Romulan ship should have picked them up three weeks ago, but that ship never showed up. "I am doctor Nuvek. I am not in the military. The group I lead has nothing to do with the military. Thank yo for saving us. I guess we are at your mercy... But I would like to ask you to take us back to the Neutral Zone where a Romulan ship can pick us up and get us back home." But Commodore Van Nieuwenhove has his own ideas about the situation. There are to many blancs in this which has to be filled in. Therefore he decides to have the Romulans questioned. The Federation has to find out what and why the Romulans did geological servey on this planet alone during a war. But also there are some questions about the spirit folks, if they are indeed telepathic, they must have picked up the romulans team, why didn't they say anything ?. And then the Commodore starts giving orders. "All starships to go to yellow alert, raise shields." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt USS Thunderbolt in orbit of Poneru IV. Captain Mechels has send an away team to the planet, under command Lieutenant Carlito, to investigate a weak energy signature. In a small structure, which seems to be a grave or something like it a sphere is found. "Bring the artifact aboard and try to find out what it is and what it can do. It is necessary we find new species. This artifact can contain clues to find a new species." The artifact is brought aboard the USS Thunderbolt where the engineers and Borg are doing some tests. At first the sphere looks like a dead object, but the temperature of 25 degrees Celsius is very strange. There has to be some kind of energy or power source in the sphere. But even the Borg cannot open the sphere or make it work or do something. They cannot even assimilate the sphere. Master One only has one explanation. "Captain Mechels, this sphere must come from the future or from a species very advanced and from a distant Galaxy. We cannot assimilate this technology. Not even the force can be used to control this object. Maybe it is meant to be left alone." As there seems not to be any other sollution the idea of bringing the sphere back to the structure on Poneru IV comes up and everyone seems to agree. Just before Captain Mechels can give an order the sphere makes a zooming sound, like a group of insects flying. And the Sphere comes from the ground and starts rising slowly. One of the security officers hand already goes to his weapon, but Master One asks him not to do so. "That could be dangerous Ensign." The sphere accellerates and starts flying around in the cargo bay at higher speeds as if it looks for a way to escape from his prison. Master One tries to talk to the sphere but without success. The sphere goes up to the ceiling. A heavy voice is heard, like an echo far away. "Free. I am free. Follow me, follow me, follow me. We all will be free." And then the sphere goes right through the ceiling as if walls are made of air. Only a moment later the sphere has left the ship and takes a position just in front of the USS thunderbolt. Apparently this sphere has found a way to interface with the ships intercom as the same heavy vooice is heard all around on the ship. "Follow me, follow me, follow me. We all will be free." Captain Mechels order is very clear. "Follow the sphere whatever happens." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang Commander Bellafonte starts the investigation on ML-66 of the Federation probe to gain information of the logs of the probe. It has become pure curiosity, especially as there is no intelligent life on ML-66. At first the data are just mapping stars and the complete route that the probe has traveled to finally land on ML-66. There seems nothing really special about the probe's logs. But then suddenly in a very small file, Commander Bellafonte finds a reference to another alien probe of some kind. The Federation probe has followed that alien probe to ML-66. Commander Bellafonte reports his findings to the USS Walang. "Captain. I think we have found something interesting. Apparently our probe has got itself on ML-66 by following an alien probe. According the data this alien probe has to be here in the neighbourhood. I must say my scanner does not indicate alien technology, but this could be because my scanner is not configured to detect this kind of alien technology so it does not recognize it. I ask permission to search the area." "Permission granted Commander. I hope you find that alien probe." Commander Bellafonte and his away team start the search. there has to be signs of damage in the flora, or any other signs that indicate where this alien probe may be. The search takes a full day, but when the night falls, one of the officers has found a small alien device as small as a Starfleet torpedo. Only a few minutes later the entire away team is gathered around the alien device. This must be the alien probe. Scanners do not reveal anything and there are only a few options left to examine the probe. Commander Bellafonte reports. "Captain. We can bring this alien probe to the ship, but that could be dangerous. It could well be a weapon for all we know. We could examine this alien probe here on the planet. But we need some equipment and some more engineers. I recommend to send the rest of the away team back aboard the ship for security reasons." "Yes. Examine the alien probe on the planet. It is to dangerous to bring it onboard the ship. I agree with you Commander Bellafonte. If we don't examine it, it may be there always and threaten us and maybe it contains some useful information." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 9 14.00 Shift change on the bridge of the USS Vertigo. Nothing important to report. The USS Vertigo is on its way to the Romulan Neutral Zone where it has a rendez-vous with the USS Factory. Day 13 19.17 The USS Vertigo arrives at the coordinates where the USS Factory is already waiting. Commodore Slater has a short meeting with Captain Linda Berck, in command of the USS Factory and a civilian only called Harry. Harry will stay on the USS Vertigo. Day 13 19.22 The USS Vertigo leaves the USS Factory. The USS Factory continues to patrol the Neutral Zone, while the USS Vertigo sets course to the planet Komari II. Commodore Slater only informs his First Officer, Captain Norma Lang and Chief of Security Lieutenant Commander Matz of the true identity of Harry. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The first week of the new engagements, it is time to do some serious systems updtaes to the new Starfleet Marines specifications. Especially the sensors and sickbay get a complete new subprocessing system. At the end of the week, the USS Iceberg is more than ready to go and finally the crew is on its way. But it is not going to be a mission of rest and easy... Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado A small base has been set up for twenty officers on D-34. The camp is shielded with a portable shield generator, to prevent any intrusions, although it is unlikely as the camp is also hidden by holographic emitters. The Roman like society will be unaware of the Federation team studying them. A runabout is standing by in case of emergency, landed in the middle of the Federation camp. Lieutenant Jones in command of the entire mission can be pleased. Everything is running smoothly. The antropologists do not seem to know where to start first Even the security officers show a lot of interest. There is not much to do for them, but they take the opportunity to study sports in the arena and military organisation. It seems that these people do not have to much to worry about on this planet. Even the weather is great. Of course the antropolgists ask Lieutenant Jones whether they can mingle among these people. The doctor can transform them so nobody will notice they are from another world. Ensign Patrick Woodrow asks Lieutenant Jones to go to the village nearby, but if Lieutenant Jones says no, he will understand... At the same time aboard the USS Colorado everyone on the bridge is completely surprised by the call from the Romulan Commander T'Lor who uses a Federation secured channel to communicate with the USS Colorado. A fast look in the Federation database reveals some files about Commander T'Lor, who is a Federation spy on Romulus. But the files also indicate that T'Lor is not to be trusted. T'Lor has already given false information in the past, but also good information. "Captain. A Romulan warbird decloaking right in front of us. Sir, their weapons and shields are not active. If we fire some torpedoes, the warbird will be destroyed sir." Apparently Commander T'Lor has no time to wait. He contacts the USS Colorado again. "On screen." A Romulan officer appears on the screen. "Captain. I have to speak to the Federation Council at once. You must escort me and my ship or me alone to Earth. The information I have cannot wait, but I have to tell the Federation Council myself." Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper Ambassador Stevens is in a difficult position. He has been addressed by an unknown person on Angel One, who claims to know that Ambassador Stevens is a Federation spy. This person, dressed in a large cloak does not want to tell his name. Ambassador Stevens has a dilemma. This could be a test to see whether he is really loyal to "The Rising Sons", a terrorist group supported by Cardassians and Romulans, or this could be the real thing. The unknown person wants Ambassador Stevens to join him and go to the leader of Angel One, Beatta III. Maybe this entire situation is a setup for some kind of trap... Players: Crew of the Starship Starchild (Former USS Alice Cooper) Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) Jotarn and Horkan have decided to go through the ring gateway. It seems the only way to get to the Delta Quadrant very fast. This stargate seems a great way to travel. But the two Hirogen take their precautions. Heavily armed they step through the gate only to arrive a few seconds later on the other side, a little cold. Coming out at the other side there are about ten people waiting. This planet is listed in the Hirogen database as Giunoma III. There are a few smaller structures, like small houses in the middle of a forrest. Those people are standing there and look at eachother. It is not certain what these people are thinking but there is not much time. Then they start shouting. "Chaapa-ai ! Help from an other planet ! Chaapa-ai !" But suddenly the shouting stops. The small group of people take cover behind one of the small structures. Jotarn has seen that htey all got weapons in their hands. He does not take any risks and is ready to fire his dirruptor rifle, but then Horkan has his hand on Jotarns rifle. He shakes his head. The people taking cover point the weapons way from the hirogen apparently to their enemy who come closer under cover of the forrest around the stargate. The fight begins. Firing of weapons... One of men waves to the Hirogen to take cover with them. "Come with us. Take cover; You will be killed. There must be at least twenty Jaffa." Jotarn turns to Horkan. "Only twenty. This is going to be a short hunt." Hokarn smiles. He checks his scanner. In a split second the Hirogen have located twenty two so called Jaffa. Not listening to the warnings... "What are you doing? Come back. You get yourself killed. We must wait for the Tok'ra." ... The two Hirogen soldiers start moving. Jotarn to one side, Horkan to the other side, firing their weapons. To the surprise of the people in defense one of the Jaffas falls and then another. It seems that these hirogen are extreme good soldiers. In a few minutes they have killed more than half of the Jaffas. Confronted with this new powerful enemy the Jaffa increase their attacks and regroup. The stargate opens again. Four men step out and walk up to their friends in cover at the building watching the two Hirogen eliminate the Jaffa. The four men are addressed as Tok'ra. The four Tok'ra don't heistate any longer and firing their weapons they come to assist the Hirogen. A few minutes the fight is over. The two Hirogen the alien people and the Tok'ra come together at the small building, where one of the Tok'ra addresses the Hirogen. "Thank you for your help. I am Toral. We try to protect our people as good as we can. But we can use all the help we can get. I have never seen your species before. But that is not important now. Those soldiers you killed are Jaffa, soldiers of the Goa'uld System Lord named Tayet. There will be more Jaffa and Goa'uld coming to this planet. We have to leave this planet now. Please come with us. You are indeed brave soldiers." But the answer of Jotarn is a bit surprising for the Tok'ras and for Toral. "You have killed our prey. That was our prey..." But Horkan has understood that the two Hirogen have come to a planet where there is some kind of war going on. Apparently these Tok'ra are losing against the Jaffa and the Goa'uld. But two Hirogen cannot fight a war against armies. So Horkan has questions. "Are their many of you ? And where will you go ?" But the Tok'ra doesn't seem to trust their new friends yet. "I cannot tell you where we are going, but we will use the stargate and bring these people in safety. You must know that the Goa'uld are hunting us. If you stay here, you are in danger. Although you want to kill all Jaffa and Goa'uld on this planet then..." But the Hirogen hunters take this situation as a present. The hunt can begin and Horkan's words speak for themselves. "We will help you people who call yourselves Tok'ra and free this planet called Hubis from those who are called Goa'uld." Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report June 2005 USS Earth Aboard the USS Earth Lieutenant Jonta has been invaded by the Ztebana, a microscopic species that now tries to communicate with Commodore Steichen and her crew using Jonta's body. Commodore Steichen has a first question. "Ztebana, what happened on your planet and how can we help you?" "We, the Ztebana were once like you. But we have been subject of medical experiments. Our species was at the point of extinction as our cloning program didn't have the results we whished for. So all scientists were ordered to find a way to improve the cloning program, but they came up with only us as a result, immortal one cellulair micro organismes. We are all individuals with all genetic information to become the people again we should be. A Ztebana scientist tried to clone our entire species, the Ztebana, and the process should be finished. But we were dropped of on this planet and when the last of our original species passed away, we had no way to communicate with anyone. It is not certain this last scientist knew what and who we were. It all happened a few decades ago. We have to try to find a way to get back to the space station where we have been created, to find a sollution and get back into humanoid form." "What exactly can you do on this space station? And can you do it without hurting my officer, lieutenant Jonta?" "Yes we will leave Jonta as soon as we do not have to communicate further. If you do not trust us, you can put us in a box and take us with you to the space station. You can also send us back to the planet below. We cannot stop you from doing that. I will give you the coordinates where the space station is. Than you can make a decision." Lieutenant Jonta slowly walks to a console and pushes some buttons on the communication panel. A few moments later there is a call from the bridge. "Commodore we have received coordinates from Sickbay. It is only 20 lightyears away. We will be there in 5 days at warp 9." "We will investigate the situation further. Go to the coordinates they gave us and take the Ztebana with us. We will store them in a box and put the box behind a forcefield." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 And Commodore Van Nieuwenhova was right. His ships are at yellow alert and especially the USS Starmaker, USS Sunrise and USS Cruiser which are about to meet with a ship of the Spirit People are getting ready for anything. A few days later the Spirit People arrive in a large vessel of unknown design. While the Spirit People aboard the Federation ships are closely watched by security, the Romulans are also interrogated. But the Romulans don't tell anything. Contact is made with the vessel of the Spirit People and there is another surprise for Captain T'kon in command of the USS Starmaker. "Federation ships. I am General Klimaru. I want to thank you for the rescue of our fellow spirits. The spirits you have rescued are escaped prisoners. We would like you to transfer them to our ship so we can bring them back home to lock them up again. These criminals have had some help from a species called Romulans. Apparently they crashed on this planet and could not get any further, except for their leader Fjulita. We do not know where Fjulita is. But Fjulita should be captured soon." Apparently the Spirit criminals aboard the Federation ships have heard what General Klimaru has just said. All of them on the three ships try to get to the shuttlebays to escape, but Starfleet security troops on all ships had already been standing by. The criminal spirits are captured very fast and send over to General Klimaru's ship, where they are locked up. "Thank you Federation people for your assistance. We have no laws that apply to other species. So these Romulans you have captured as well do not resort under our jurisdiction. You can do with the Romulans as you see fit. Thank you again." But Captain T'kon's Vulcan logic has already made some calculations. He knows the spirit Fjulita is aboard Starbase 369. He sends a message to Starbase 369 to capture this spirit Fjulita... Just at the moment six security officers burst into Commodore Van Nieuwenhove's office, it is already to late. Fjulita is holding a weapon of some kind against the Commodore's body. "You will retreat and give me free passage to one of your small ships. If yo do not your leader will be terminated. Now!" The prove is now given that Fjulita and his compagnons are indeed Spirit criminals. But the Spirit ship of General Klimaru is at least a week away. But Commodore Van Nieuwenhove does not respond well to threats. He orders his officers to stun him. He falls on the floor and at this moment of surprise the security officers can take a good shot at the surprised Fjulita. Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt An alien device is the guide for the USS Thunderbolt, flying in front of the future enhanced Defiant class vessel, the sphere jumps to warp as the Federation ship, under command of Commodore Mechels, is following. During the trip, the three Borg aboard the USS Thunderbolt try to analyse the alien sphere, but without little result. "Commodore Mechels. We have determined the structure of the alien sphere, but that is all. We cannot access its computer. It is like this alien device is out of place here, maybe even out of time. We will continue our research." Master One turns around and walks of the bridge. He still had some tricks on his sleave. He could not use the force on this object. Not that this was strange. Not all objects could be moved by the force. He could move the alien sphere, but to what use ? And why would he do this. They all just had to continue to look for new data. Maybe the sphere would lead the USS Thunderbolt to a friendly location. But Master One could not see that part of the future... Then he suddenly realised what was going on. But this trip has caused the USS Thunderbolt to accellerate to Warp 9.9 already. Sensors are not functioning at peak performance at this speed and Master One has to wait for further investigations on the alien sphere. Again he reviews the data he already has and calculates a chance that the alien sphere could be hostile. At the same time on the bridge Chief of Operations Leeloo Brussels reported. "Commodore sir. The sphere is leading us to that small moon." But before Commodore Mechels can answer, Lord Two already has the answer. "That is not a moon. That is a space station. You should stop the ship Commodore. It's a trap." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang ML-66, a planet far beyond the normal reach of the Federation. USS Walang First Officer and on engineer examine an alien probe they have found on the planet, by following a Federation probe. The Federation probe has been retrieved and the alien probe is now ready for a full scan and further examination. Commander Bellafonte reports. "Captain, we are now in position. Chief Engineer Varo Mensa has set up an automated frequency scanner. This will take some time to have the first results. We will get back to you when we know more." Being productive at the same time Chief of Operations John Strauss has assembled a team of scientists to examine the holographic images of the alien probe. Maybe they can find something the team on the planet has missed. All the data is also sent to Space Station Kirie 1, in case something goes wrong, the officers of Station Kirie can at least inform Starfleet Command about the situation. Aboard Space Station Kirie 1, Lieutenant Commander Lore Vladinski in command, the ten crewmembers follow the data stream from the USS Walang with a lot of interest. After all, this is about unknown alien technology. Even the Kirie themselves get curious, allways interested in meeting new species. And the new data comes in as Commander Bellafonte on ML-66 reports in. "Captain, our scans did not reveal anything from the inside of the alien probe. Therefore we are now going to try to open the alien probe with a calculated laser beam. This laser beam should only damage the surface and not the inside." While everyone has to wait in tension, Chief Engineer Mensa, standing at about ten meters from the probe activates the laser, which slowly cuts its way through the probe's casing. A few minutes later Commander Bellafonte has a new report. "Captain. We have opened the probe. We have found several small panels and displays. Apparently this probe should have a remote control to activate this alien probe, which seems to me a device to communicate. Or at least part of this probe has technology to communicate with the home of the alien species. I could try to activate that part of the probe at random. It is not sure we will get an answer from the species who sent out this probe, but it is worth a try." "We will ask the help from the Gnodes and the Kirie. Maybe they know what to do. Or maybe they have other data that might be valuable." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 19 14.12 The USS Vertigo arrives at Komari II. Under escort of Lieutenant Commander Matz the mistrious Harry leaves the USS Vertigo and is transported to the captital of Komari II. Harry is a courier who brings only messages in person. Lieutenant Commander Matz, who escorts Harry is able to listen to the message brought by Harry to the Komari president Tjuknaba. Day 19 15.03 President Tjuknaba replies with a message to Harry which has to be brought to President Stremeto of Kaldaron Prime as fast as possible. Again Matz is able to listen to that message. Harry transports aboard the USS Vertigo, still escorted by Matz. The USS Vertigo leaves immediately to Kaldaron Prime. Day 26 00.34 The USS Vertigo arrives at Kaldaron Prime. But when harry is transported to the planet escorted by Lieutenant Commander Matz Harry and Matz step right into a trap. Harry is killed, but Matz is able to kill te attackers. Matz is the only one who knows what the message was from the Komari president Tjuknaba to President Stremeto of Kaldaron Prime. Lieutenant Commander Matz does not ask anyone for instructions. She goes to the palace of President Stremeto of Kaldaron Prime and delivers the message from the Komari president Tjuknaba in private. The message is about trade negotiations. Apparently somebody is against trade between the Komari and Kaldaron. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg On its way to the new mission assignement, the USS Iceberg is hit by an ionstorm. There is moderate damage to the shields, torpedo launchers, lateral and dorsal sensor arrays and the main shuttle bay. There are two light wounded and they are treated by the medics in sickbay. It is not wise to continue to the next mission without doing repairs first. These repairs will take six days. Starfleet Command has been informed about the delay of the USS Iceberg. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado On planet D-34 Lieutenant Ally Jones has made a decision. "Alright Ensign Woodrow, but be careful. Mingle among the people in the village. When possible avoid any contact and stay in touch every 30 minutes. Lt. Anderson prepare a team with two other members, you go with them." "Aye cmdr." "I want you back tomorrow." A few hours later, Ensign Woodrow, Lieutenant Anderson and two other officers have been transformed. They look exactly the same as the local population. As there is a lot of traveling going on in this region the four Starfleet officers will not be noticed. Disguised as merchants the four enter the small city and mingle among the local Roman like population. Ensign Woodrow, who is an expert on the Human Roman period on Earth, takes this visit seriously. He even finds structures, buildings and the local arena as if they were transported from the old Earth Rome to this planet. A few hours later without incidents, Ensign Woodrow and the other officers are reaching the wall of the city. They follow a large group of merchants out of the gate, into the forrest, where the merchants set up their camp of tents. Passing the camp the small group of officers walk further into the forrest where they plan to have a meeting what to do next. As soon as they are convinced that the local population is not watching them, Lieutenant Anderson takes his tricorder and starts his scans. But to his surprise he gets readings totally unexpected. Without asking Ensign Woodrow Lieutenant Anderson reports to Lieutenant Jones about what he has found. "Lieutenant Jones, I have found what is absolutely sure alien technology. It is a device of some kind with some kind of nuclear fusion reactor. This is nothing the local population could have build. What should we do?" At the same time aboard the USS Colorado Commander Walker seems to know more about the Romulan Commander T'Lor, who just has contacted the USS COlorado to ask to be escorted to Earth as he has to report to the Federation Council himself. "Captain if I may. Commander T'Lor. Do you have what we agreed on?" "Yes! I have the divice." "Good, I'll contact you in a few minutes." It is clear that Captain Harrison wants an explanation of what is going on. But Commander Walker already knows this. "Captain can I talk with you in your ready room." "I hope you very good eason number one. Lt. Sonak you have the bridge." In the Captain's ready room the Captain shows a bit of his concern. "Explane yourself number one." "Captain I apologize for not informing you. On Vulcan I met with admiral Ramirez and admiral Mifuné including some Vulcan ambassadors and T'Lor." Now Captain Harrison is completely surprised. "You did what!?" "T'Lor and his family and aid, have asked to defect from Romulus, leave their homeworld and live else where. Where, we don't know!" "What does that have to do with us?" "Captain, I know T'Lor can not always be trusted. But I trust him since we've met on Vulcan. The Vulcans took great precautions to keep this meeting secret." But Captain Harrison's patience is not endless. "Is there an end to your explaining." "Captain, we are to excort the warbird towards station 295, and there we meet with admiral Mifuné and Ramirez." "What is the device." "A cloaking divice and the technology on the cloaking dectection." "Alright number one, but I'll hope what you're getting us in to." Captain Harrison trusts his first officer completely. They have been through a lot together and there is no reason for any doubt. Both officers walk back to the bridge where Captain Harrison addresses Lieutenant Sonak. "Mr Sonak contact T'Lor." "I have commander T'Lor." "Thank you. Commander T'Lor, I believe I have to apologize to you for keeping you waiting. On behalf of my crew I like to invite you on the Colorado for tour and a dinner." "I will except your invitation captain." "Shall we say in one hour." "Agreed." After the channel is closed the Captain gives orders to welcome their guest. "Prepare to welcome our guests Commander Walker, and inform Mr. Smith we have guests for dinner. Mr. Sonak prepare some quarters for our guests." The Captain pushes a small button of the ship's intercom and adresses his seior officers. "This is the captain, all senior officers are requested to report in transporter room 1 in hours time." In the hour before the arrival of the Romulan Commander, Captain Harrison contacts Admiral Mifuné and Ramirez. Not that he does not trust his First Officer, but to report he is on his way escorting the Romulan ship. Both Admirals are very pleased to hear this and they will make preparations for the Federation Council to welcome Commander T'Lok. One hour later Commander T'Lor arrives with a Romulan civilian. T'Lor introduces the civilian. "This is Senator Palet. After the Schinzon case and the treachery of the Remans, Senator Palet has decided that there is to much evil in the Romulan senate. He wants defect with me to the Federation. He has even more to offer than me." Captain Harrison welcomes the two Romulans and takes them to Ten Forward for a formal reception. Followed by his senior officers in dress uniform and two security officers, the small group enters Ten Forward which has been cleared from personnel. There are still a lot of negative feelings against the Romulans among the crew, so Captain Harrison does not want any incidents. Besides the presence of Romulans aboard a Federation starship is most unusual and has to be kept secret. After the reception and the dinner the Romulans leave the USS Colorado to return to their own ship. Both ships are on their way to Earth. and it will take some time to arrive there. As the distance between the USS Colorado and the planet D-34 where Lieutenant Jones is studying the local population is getting bigger, contact is getting more difficult, but Captain harrison is sure that Lieutenant Jones knows what to do. And then much later the USS Colorado establish orbit around Earth, where six starships are standing by to escort the Romulan warbird. Captain Harrison calls his senior officers for a meeting and explains what is to be next. "Well done lady and gentlemen. Now there are some options here. I have received permission to visit the Romulan warbird. Now that could be really interesting. If any of you has a better idea, please speak up now." Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper To investigate the situation on Angel One and the Cardassian and Romulan influence in the "Rising Sons", Ambassador Jas Stevens keeps in contact with the Federation so Starfleet can rescue him in case of necessity. The "Rising Sons is a group of males on Angel One who think that violence will overthrow the matriachal government of their planet. The group has the help of Cardassians and Romulans and it is already clear that the "Rising Sons" are responsible for lots of attacks on governmental buildings and institutions. Ambassador Stevens is approached by a person who says he already knows Stevens is a federation spy. And this person asks to follow him. Ambassador Stevens decides to trust this man and go with him after contacting Captain Kalee on the sly... telling Raz of his plans to go with the mysterious stranger... leaving the com-link on his combadge open so the Alice Cooper-B can monitor everything said -- Teleport me out of there if they hear anything of a threatening nature. Aboard the USS Alice Cooper tension is rising. Closely focused on the actions of Ambassador Stevens on Angel One, the Captain has ordered three officers to monitor what the Ambassador is doing every second. If only one of them thinks there is danger, the transporter chief will beam the Ambassador out. No questions... At the same time Ambassador Stevens follows the misterious figure through narrow streets of the capital. to finally enter a small home where two women are waiting for him. The misterious person leaves the house and disappeares into the street. One of the two women looks familiar, but Ambassador Stevens cannot exactly say where he knows her from. It is the other woman who addresses the Ambassador. "Ambassador Jas Stevens. Yes, I know your real name. I am Rosa Julata. I am the Secretary of Defense on Angel One. We are at the point where we know all of the "Rising Sons". We were ready to act, but then you showed up. We do not want Federation interference. I think that will be clear, but...," and then the Secretary sights, "we need your help with the situation with the Cardassians and Romulans on our planet. Yes yes, we know about them too. Do you really think we are not aware of who is coming and going on this planet? Anyway, we are gathering evidence of the Cardassian and Romulan presence. In fact this means we have to capture a Romulan or a Cardassian. Beatta will not believe our words. Let me introduce to Lina Corona. I believe you have met her sister Gilly. Lina will explain what we have in mind." "Ambassador. I already know my sister is fine. I don't have to worry about that. Let me explain in short. We want you to continue to infiltrate in the "Rising Sons". This is a small communications device. When you are at one of their meetings again and a Romulan or Cardassian comes in, just push the button on the device and we will be there in less than three minutes with enough people to capture the "Rising Sons present and the cardassian or Romulan. What do you think of this plan and will you cooperate or not." Players: Crew of the Starship Starchild (Former USS Alice Cooper) Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) Two Hirogen Horkan and Jotarn have met the Tok'ra a symbiont species who is at war with the Goa'uld on a planet called Giunoma III. The Hirogen helped the Tok'ra with a rescue mission of people under threat of the Goa'uld System Lord called Tayet and Jaffas, soldiers of the Goa'uld. The two Hirogen have agreed with the Tok'ra called Toral to help them fight the Goa'uld and the Jaffa on Giunoma III, not because they hate the Goa'uld, but because this promisses to be a great hunt like in the early days of the Hirogen. First the other Tok'ra open the stargate and escape with the local population except for Toral who guides the two Hirogen on the planet Giunoma III towards a Jaffa camp where still a large group of the local Giunomans is held as slaves. The walk through the forrest takes almost ten minutes. Toral warns the Hirogen about the distance between the slave camp and the stargate. On the top of a small hill close to the slave camp the three hold and lay down to watch and search for a way to free the Giunoman slaves. With the advanced hand scanners of the Hirogen 34 Jaffas are detected, spread around the camp as guards. It is clear that the life for the slaves is hard to say the least. Even Jotarn is disgusted by the look of the camp. "These Jaffa have no honor." But the Tok'ra Toral gives a bit more explanation. "The real evil is the Goa'uld Tayet. The Jaffa are only the soldiers and they think that Tayet is a god." And Jotarn already thinks ahead. "Then we must free these slaves and hunt down these Jaffa and hunt this Goa'uld. That Goa'uld will die without honor, like an animal." Now even Toral is surprised to hear somebody say such a thing. Apparently he has found some people, aliens, who after one hour after hearing about the Goa'uld already want the Goa'uld dead. The plan is rather simple. As soon as it is night Toral will approach the slaves and lead them away from the camp to the Stargate and save them. The Hirogen will eliminate the Jaffa. As soon as the night comes, darkness falls over the slave camp. Without a sound, with their Hirogen Talons the hirogens, Jotarn and Horkan eliminate the Jaffa guards one by one. When the last Jaffa falls, there has not even been an alarm. Toral has a free way to the Stargate and leads the Giunomans to it, opens the stargate and while the first of almost a hundred Giunomans are relocated to another planet where the Goa'uld do not know about, Toral has a request for the Hirogen. "This Goa'uld Tayet is evil. We could use your help in destroying Tayet. In the morning, We could set a trap for Tayet. There are no more Giunomans to be saved. This planet has no people anymore. Tayet will find that out in the morning. The Goa'uld mothership will come to this planet and Tayet will personally come to that camp and will try to find the cause of the destruction of the Jaffa. Then we can kill Tayet or capture Tayet. Or we can try to get to Tayet's ship and take it over. Do you think that you can do this?" Jotarn looks at Horkan. And he has an idea. "Horkan. This could be a great hunt indeed. And the prey is big and dangerous. We are in our space. Let's call for more of our Hirogen hunters and make this the biggest hunt ever in Hirogen history. So all Hirogen can enjoy this hunt. A trap for one person or a few is fine, but a hunt for a big alien ship... that would be a great hunt indeed." But Horkan realises that this one prey is much more worth than a ship or a group. "We will set up a trap for the goa'uld called Tayet together with Toral." Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report July 2005 USS Earth Players: Christine Steichen On its way to a Ztebana space station the USS Earth is carrying a box with the Ztebana in it, secured. Lieutenant Jonta is now free from the microscopic clones of the Ztebana. A few days away from the Ztebana space station, the USS Earth is intercepted by three alien ships. Contact is made briefly. "This is General Dnomm, of the Erkadai. You are transporting Ztebana creatures. You will hand them over to us. They are criminals and they will stand trial." "General Dnomm, I am Commodore Christine Steichen in command of the starship USS Earth, representing the United Federation of Planets. We were not aware of any crimes of the Ztebana. We are taking the Ztebana to a place they can heal. Could you explain which crimes they have committed?" "The Ztebana have killed sixteen Erkadai, by taking over their bodies. They were at least fifty witnesses and sensor logs which provide sufficient evidence. I cannot let you take them away to wherever you are going. To be honest, maybe the intensions of the Ztebana were not to kill anybody, but they did. I am not a judge, I simply have to take them and bring them to our supreme court. Please hand them over to us in peace. I would not like to battle with you to take them by force. You have 30 minutes." The channel is closed. Commodore Steichen takes a few seconds to let her officers speak. But they are all silent, except for First Officer Commander T'Lok who in the Vulcan art of logic has analysed the situation. "Commodore, I suggest we hand over the Ztebana. We do not have a conflict with the Erkadai. It is possible the Ztebana killed the Erkadai like they have invaded our away team, not knowing what effect that could be on the human body of Lieutenant Jonta and the others. Some of the away team members were almost lost during that mission. We were not very pleased with the Ztebana either. But all of our officers live. It could have been different. And then we probably would do exactly the same thing as the Erkadai." Starbase 369 Security officers have stunned Commodore Van Nieuwenhove who was held hostage by a spirit people called Fjulita, an escaped and hunted criminal. While the Commodore falls on the ground the security officers fire on Fjulita who is killed in the weapons blasts. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove wakes up in sickbay. "Doctor. Did they capture this Fjulita." "No Sir. They killed him. The Spirit people are informed and the body is already transported aboard Klimaru's ship. I have the impression these spirit people are much more advanced than we are." Now that it is all over, the Commodore returns to duty. It has become clear now that a Romulan group has helped the spirit criminals to escape so they could use them for romulan purposes. But it is not yet clear what these purposes are and the captured Romulans do not say anything. After a week the USS Starmaker, USS Sunrise and USS Cruiser return to Starbase 369 where they have Starfleet intelligence take over the Romulan prisoners. All ships resupply and continue back to their original missions. Later that evening the Commanding officer of Starbase 369, Commodore Van Nieuwenhove is reading evaluation reports, looks at the latest duty rosters and has a last snack to eat. Just when he is in his bed a call comes in from Starbase Operations. "Commodore sir, I am sorry to wake you sir, but we have an emergency. Planet Z-77 has become vulcanic instable. there are no people on that planet, but there are no ships nearby. The canges in gravity should be measured from closeby sir. In fact the planet is falling apart and it could have effect on the status of our starbase." "Send a team in a runabout to investigate the fluctuations in gravety at planet Z-77. Let them report to you directly." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt A space station that looks like a small moon... The USS Thunderbolt cannot determine what exactly it is what they see. But Lord Two has already explained it is a trap. The question is, whether this space station is a threat for the Federation or to anyone else. And who build this kind of station. While some officers is in favour of having a closer look, others don't want to go in alone and wait for backup. Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang ML-66... Commander Bellafonte, First Officer of the starship USS Walang, has been able to open an alien probe with the help of Chief Engineer Lieutenant Mensa. Captain Hendriks has called the Gnodes and the Kirie for help. The Kirie are not familiar with this technology and cannot help, but the Gnodes have scanning devices to analyse the alien probe on ML-66 much better and in greater detail. As soon as three Gnode scientists arrive they start working and only an hour later all three of them come to an agreement. The alien probe is a communication device. Which species has built this probe and why, the Gnode scientists do not know, but it is certainly not a weapon It is a communication device, but the trouble will be to find out how it works. A full day goes by. The USS Walang and the Gnode ship are side by side in orbit of ML-66. It is Chief Engineer Mensa who activates the communication device of the probe. It was more by accident than skill, but that doesn't really matter anymore, because the device is working. There are a few clicks, a humming sound and then a small image and a voice. "Ztamari central. How can I help you?" Commander Bellafonte reports to the Captain that contact is established. then he addresses the person at the other side. "I am Commander Harry Bellafonte, First Officer of the starship USS Walang a ship of the United Federation of Planets. With me are three scientists of the Gnodes. We would like to know whether you are interested in diplomatic relations." "I see. One moment please. I will reconnect you to the Minister of Space Trade." For a moment the screen is completely black, than a logo appears. There is nothing else to do than wait. It is only a minute and another Ztamarian appears on the screen. "Hi there, I am Gionarts, Ztamari Minister of Space Trade. How can I help you?" Commander Bellafonte again introduces himself and the Gnodes and asks whether the Ztamarians could be interested in diplomatic relations. Minister Gionarts is very excited. "But of course. Actually this has not happened before. Two species contacting us at the same time. You are of course invited to come to our homeworld. I will send you the coordinates. PLease drop in any time." The coordinates of the Ztamari homeworld have been received and Captain Hendriks is informed. The Gnodes also contact their homeworld, where the news is received with joy. There is one little problem though. The Ztamari homeworld is at least ten months away from ML-66... Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 26 9.00 Lieutenant Commander Matz has been able to get a good nights rest in the palace of President Stremeto of Kaldaron Prime. It is not her worry that either people are against a trade negotiation between Kaldaron Prime and the Komari. Day 26 11.14 President Stremeto of Kaldaron Prime has asked Lieutenant Commander Matz to deliver a message personally to the Komari President Tjuknaba which could bring peace and prosparity to both species. But President Stremeto explains that he only trusts Lieutenant Commander Matz. He also explains that there are people who do not want this trade treaty as they are afraid they will be overrun by the Komari. But Strmeto says this is ridiculous as both species can only benifit from this treaty. Day 26 12.53 Lieutenant Commander Matz has reported in to the USS Vertigo explaining the situation. She gets permission to bring the message from President Stremeto of Kaldaron Prime to the Komari President Tjuknaba. But this will not be without danger as Matz has seen before. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg Repairs are on their way aboard the USS Iceberg. But the ship is not ready yet. There is no hurry though as the next mission for the USS Iceberg will not start for two months. Colonel Crow takes advantage of the situation and orders some security and tactical drills on the ship. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado On Planet D-34 Ensign Woodrow and two other officers have discovered an alien fusion reactor, clearly not build by the local population which has the level of the human old Rome society. Lieutenant Ally Jones in command of the small away team on planet D-34 has made a decision and adresses Lieutenant Anderson who is now closeby to the fusion reactor. "Lieutenant, you are to head the science team, to investigate the Alien technology. I'll expect you back within three hours." "Anthing else?" "Yes, don't overstay your time." "Ensign Woodrow, bring something back useful." "We will sir... I mean ma'am." The small group with ensign Woodrow and Lieutenant Anderson proceed to the location where the fusion reactor does not hide itself. The makers of the fusion reactor probably think that this technology will not discovered and in a way they are right. From orbit the fusion reactor was not detected. Three hours later there is still no report from Lieutenant Anderson and there is nothing heard from Ensign Woodrow or any other officer in Anderson's team. Lieutenant Jones decides to wait for another hour, but nothing is heard from the team. It is at that time Chief Petty Officer Daily addresses Lieutenant Jones. "Lieutenant, Lieutenant Anderson's team is much to late. I have served with Lieutenant Anderson for many years already and one thing I can say. He has never been late. something must have happened. I ask permission to lead an search and rescue team to go and investigate." Earth, Station 295 Admiral Mifuné is clearly very happy to see Admiral Ramirez, but he is also very happy that Romulan Commander T'Lor and Romulan Senator Palet have come. "Not only will the Federation have a first look at a Romulan warbird from all sides, but we will gain Romulan technology which will give us the advantage we have been waiting for years and years." "I agree my friend. This is a great step forward. We should contact the USS Colorado now." Aboard the USS Colorado... Lieutenant Sonak adresses Captain Harrison. " Captain message coming through from admiral Mifuné." "In my ready room Mr Sonak." "Number one, you have the bridge." In his ready room Captain Harrison takes the call from Admiral Mifuné. "Captain Harrison here Admiral, what can I do for you?" "Captain, I would like you and your first officer, acompany Senator Palet and commander T'Lor the Council. If there is nothing else Captain I'll await you'r arrval within the hour. Mifuné out." When the Captain returns to the bridge he informs his First Officer. "Number one, would you like to join and our guests to meet with Admiral Mifuné. It would seem that your little adventure is far from ending!" Commander Walker does not mind of course. And only 20 minutes later already Commander T'Lok, Senator Palet, Commander Walker and Captain Harrison walk into the chamber of the Federation Council, where most part of the Federation Council is waiting for the talks with the two Romulans. The talks go very well. There are Federation Council members who are convinced that this is a first step to everlasting peace with the Romulans. But there are also some Federation Council members who still do not trust the Romulans and they find the actions of Commander T'Lor and Senator Palet very strange. They also find it strange that the Romulans themselves have not tried to stop Commander T'Lor. While the discussion continues apparently there starts a discussion between Commander T'Lor and Senator Palet as well. It is not clear what they are arguing about, but suddenly Commander T'Lor has a large knife in his hand and stabs Senator Palet who falls dead on the floor. Commander T'Lor has another device in his hand. One of the security officers shouts. "It is a bomb, code 5 now!" Without any hesitation security beams out all the Federation Council members out of the building where they are safe. Captain Harrison and Commander Walker are beamed back to their ship... Just in time as the bomb explodes and destroys almost the entire building. Luckily nobody was hurt and saved in time. Only Commander T'Lor and Senator Palet are dead. The Romulan warbird is immedately surrounded by seven ships and it is demanded that the Romulans surrender. But the Romulans have only one answer. "If you want us, come and get us." Captain Harrison and the other Captains are preparing to board the Romulan warbird and take it by force. Captain Harrison aboard the USS Colorado will lead his own team to invade the Romulan warbird. Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper On Angel One Ambassador Jas Stevens has a meeting with Lina Corona, suister of Gilly Corona. At the same time abaord the USS Alice Cooper things have returned to normal routine, exept for the few officers who are having their ears and eyes on Ambaasador Stevens on Angel One. At Starfleet Command concern is rising about Angel One and the Romulan and Cardassian activity, but Starfleet Command wants to know whether this is an official Caradassian-Romulan action or just some rogues who act on their own... Players: Crew of the Starship Starchild (Former USS Alice Cooper) Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) On Giunoma III The two Hirogen warriors set up a trap with eight Tok'ra to capture or kill the Goa'uld System Lord Tayet. The waiting seems to be endless. But then suddenly without warning a ring transporter device is activated and five Jaffa soldiers are transported down from the mothership of Tayet. They are just scouts to see whether it is safe for Tayet to transport down as well. Just when Jotarn wants to shoot the Jaffa down, Horkan stops him as he whispers... "It is not them we want. It is the big prey called Tayet." Jotarn understands his Hirogen friend. And he agrees that killing weak prey is not really very exciting. From behind his cover Jotarn sees the ring transport activated again and this time his patience is rewarded. Six more Jaffa are transported down, but in the middle of the group there is the System Lord Tayet. Tayet gives his orders and slowly the jaffa spread out. This is the moment the Hirogen and the Tok'ra have been waiting for. From behind their cover the Tok'ra start firing their Zat weapons. The element of surprise is completely throwing the Jaffa of guard and in almost panic they start firing in all directions. But then Jotarn and Horkan, the Hirogen hunters jump from behind their cover and start their run for Tayet, under cover of the Tok'ras weapons fire. While one Jaffa after the other falls to the ground, Jotarn and Horkan start firing on Tayet. But Tayet has activated a personal shield which stops the energy blasts of the Hirogen weapons. Quickly Jotarn takes his scanner and reads the data on the display. Tayet fires on Horkan, but Horkan, an experienced worrier evades the shots. Then Jotarn has found a sollution to deal with Tayets personal shield. He shouts at Horkan. "Throw talon !" Both Horakn and Jotarn grab their blank weapons, talons, and throw. Tayet is hit by the talons, one in the chest and one in the head. While the last Jaffa falls down, the two Hirogen are already standing at the corps of Tayet. A Tok'ra named Parmuf, joins the Hirogen. He takes a small box. To the surprise he puts his hand in the body of Tayet and when his hand coms out again, he is holding a worm like creature. "This is Tayet. He is still in good health. His host is dead. but we have Tayet alive and we have technology to gain information from Tayet. I have to thank you for your help Hirogen soldiers. I must confess we probably would not have made it without you. Two of our frineds have been hurt very badly. You must know the Tok'ra are also using a host. We do not have hosts for the two fallen friends. The Tok'ras Tar and Verti will die if they don't find a host within ten minutes. In principle the symbionts can heal their hosts, but the damage to the hosts of Tar and Verti is to heavy. I am asking you now whether you want to be host of Tar and Verti, so they can live on. They will give you protection from sickness and a much longer life in return. If you do not want to be hosts, I would like to ask you that you help us in capturing the mothership of Tayet. Tar and Verti are about three thousand years old. It would be very sad to lose them, but the Tok'ra do not want to force ourselves to a host, like the Goa'uld, who take over the host. I know Tar myself for almost 2000 years. It would also be a personal loss for me. But the principle stays. If you do not want to be a host, we understand..." Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report August 2005 USS Earth Deep in the Beta Quadrant the USS Earth crew meets the Erkadai, but first contact is not going well. The USS Earth has a microscopic life form aboard who call themselves Ztebana, considered capital criminals by the Erkadai. General Dnomm of the Erkadai has demanded the extradition of the Ztebana who are locked in a secured box. An ultimatum of 30 minutes is set by General Dnomm. But Commodore Steichen in command of the USS Earth is not going to give Dnomm the Ztebana without having more information about the Ztebana. "We are going to talk to the Ztebana. Maybe they have an idea." The Commodore, accompanied by Doctor Numbo and Chief of Security Lieutenant Commander Hung hurry to cargo bay 4 where the box containing the Ztebana is kept. The communication device is activated and the Ztebana answer the call. "Commodore Steichen, what can we do for you?" Steichen explains the situation with the Erkadai in short. "The Erkadai visited us not long ago. Our life forms were not compatible. They all died. It is most unfortunate. You must deliver us to the Erkadai. You must not risk your lives for us. It is not your fault. Maybe it is not even our fault, but we cannot help what we do. And we cannot change what we have done. Only at the lab of the space station we can regain our former bodies. At least we hope that they are all put in hibernation there or kept so we can use them again. We do not know what we will find on that station. But it is our only hope. Please let me talk to the Erkadai." The channel is switched to the Erkadai communication channels and while the Ztebana plea to General Dnomm, the USS Earth crew waits in tension. After almost an hour of negotiations, General Dnomm receives orders from his superiors to let the Ztebana go to that space station. The Erkadai realise that in this form the Ztebana could be a danger to all humanoid life. If the Ztebana can be restore in their original form, at least they are no longer a threat to others. The Ztebana have agreed to be taken to the Erkadai courts and face whatever is waiting for them. When the Erkadai fleet and the USS Earth arrive at the space station things look promissing. Main power is still on line, but there are three humanoid people abaord, apparently still working on experiments. It is soon clear that these scientists are responsible for what has happened to the Ztebana. Before the crew of the USS Earth can do anything the statio is invaded by the Erkadai soldiers and the three scientists are arrested. "This is General Dnomm of the Erkadai. Commodore Steichen, after the interrogation of these three scientists, it has become clear to our government that these are the real responsibles behind this. They have found a way to retract the Ztebana out of their bodies and do experiments on their bodies and on the Ztebana themselves. Apparently most of the Ztebana died in the process. It is clear that the Ztebana on your ship are also a victim. We will help them to recover in their own bodies. We need them to be a whitness in court against these scientists. You and your crew have come a long way Commodore. We have all the evidence we need. But just in case. These scientists names are Ryonder, Ptolama and Queter." The names are not recognised by the USS Earth crew. On request the Ztebana are transported to the station. A day later all Ztebana have found a body. Not all of them could use their own body, as some of those were destroyed during the experiments, but at least they all can start living again... The Erkadai have agreed to find a new home for the Ztebana. It all ends well, except for the three scientists who are locked upi for life. Another week the USS Earth travels around in Erkadai space learning that the case with the Ztebana was the only violent act the Erkadai have had in a millenia. That is why they acted with so much determination. The Erkadai provide starmaps of the nearby sectors, but the erkadai live a bit isolated between primitive cultures, without capabilities for space travel. But the Federation is always welcome to pay a visit. The USS Earth proceeds to the Star System NC-05, according the Erkadai a culture named Vlodinans lives here on the fourth planet just discovering space ravel. The Vlodinans have just had a landing on the third planet and the astronauts returned safe. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 Starbase 369 Runabout 4, under command of Lieutenant Commander Hendry Steen leaves the starbase immediately to investigate the consequences of the change in gravity in the region if planet Z-77 would indeed fall apart. It sounds like a daily routine job, and the only issue here is that steen has to keep his ship at a safe distance from Z-77 in case of a total collapse or explosion. Just as the runabout jumps to warp new data is coming in. and Lieutenant Commander Steen is brought up to date. Z-77 is the only planet in that particular system and the destruction of that planet would cause a disruption in supply lines of ships from and to Starbase 369. All those ships should make a detour. But there is nothing final yet when the runabout arrives at Z-77. The planet has a vulcanic activity which makes almost the entire planet look like a ball of lava. It is not yet clear whether the planet will explode or not. The scientists are still waiting for the data to come in from the sensors. In a way it is a very beautiful sight and as there was no life on Z-77, there is nothing to worry about anyhting. Until one of the scientists discovers something disturbing. "Commander Steen, I think you should see this." Steen hurries to the back of the ship and joins the three scientists who are looking at the viewscreen. "What are we looking at professor Jenkins?" "Do you this pattern in this wave? No? It is the same pattern as the genesis wave." Lieutenant Commander Steen seems to be turned into stone. But Professor Jenkins continues. "There is no doubt. It is the genesis wave. I think it clears up what has happened hear. somebody tested a genesis device. As we all know the protomatter used for genesis is unstable and destroys planets instead of creating a beautiful paradise as hoped for. I know this is all old news from about 200 years ago, but the strange thing is that it suddenly has shown up again. We have to report this. Somebody who has got the genesis technology can use it as a weapon..." During the next day the report about genesis on Z-77 come in. It is disturbing news. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove has his officers search for vessels who have come nearby Z-77 in the last week and investigate whether one of these ships could have had anything to do genesis or other experiments. After a full day of investigation, Chief of Security Commander Carlo Demaggio has a final report. "Sir, Z-77 can explode probably within the hour. There is nothing we can do about that. We have a list of ships, which have been close enough to use a genesis device. There are 17 occasions. 8 of those were from our own supply ship, USS Carry, 8 other occasions include six Ferengi vessels, and the USS Lander and USS Gambia. All these ships have turned out to be clean sir. But there is one ship which seems to be a possible suspect: a civilian freighter called Plakdet, a ship with a reputation, if you know what I mean. Smugglers sir. We have info of the location of the Plakdet. We can go and get them sir." Commodore Van Nieuwenhove is determined to stop any criminals who have technology like the genesis device. "This is something I have to do yourself. It is to important to let anyone else do it. The USS Mexico is ready to pick me up. We will go get them." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt A large sphere-like space station, as large as a small moon, has entered Federation space. At first undetected, but discovered by the USS Thunderbolt. While the three misterious Borg drones aboard the USS Thunderbolt think that this space station is a trap, Captain Mechels in command, decides to open communications to the station. "This is Captain Guillaume Mechels of the Federation starship USS Thunderbolt, representing the United Federation of planets. You are Federation space. Please identify yourself and state your intensions?" Captain mechels has to wait for 30 seconds before there is a reply. But sensors indicate there are only 54 humanoid life signs on that station. "Hi there. I am General Daral of the rebel force. We have captured this station from the Empire. We did not have the station under control until a day ago. We come from another galaxy and we did not have the intention to enter your territory. Our Galaxy is ruled by a dictator we have to call emperor. He has huge armies to surpress the people. We are rebels to fight against the emperor and give freedom to our people. But there are not many of us left." At this moment General Daral waits. Some others standing aside him start talking to him. It is like they do not agree that General Daral tells strangers about their galaxy and the emperor. At the same time on board the USS Thunderbolt master One also has something to say. "This is totally unexpected. Something about the force indicated that this kind of station was build to whipe out entire planets. The firepower is large. It could even be a threat to this ship. Do not worry Captain Mechels. We already have addapted. You are in no danger. It could be that this emperor is a last of the Stiegls, hidden for the Stiegls and to us, handling on his own. The force is not clear about this. I suggest we proceed with caution." It is again General Daral who speaks to his officers. "... I know the risks. Do you really think we have a choice here. Our rebel armies are beaten everywhere. Maybe these people are our only hope. If we don't get help we lose everything anyway. I am sorry Captain Mechels, but we had a minor disagreement here. I hope to win you for our cause. You have a powerful ship and you must have more ships like this in your Federation. I would like to ask to help us, come back with us with as much ships as you can spare and help us to defeat the emperor. Will you help us?" "Yes we will join you so called rebels and help you to free your population from an evil dictator who calls himself emperor. We will ask Starfleet Command for as much ships that can help. Possibly none as the Federation has lost many ships during the last war..." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang The USS Walang is together with a Gnode ship in orbit of ML-66, where earlier an away team of the USS Walang has found an alien probe. The alien probe is a communication device. A few moments later the USS Walang away team on ML-66 has contact with Gionarts, Ztamari Minister of Space Trade. Gionarts invites the USS Walang and the Gnodes to visit the Ztamari homeworld, which will take ten months of traveling. Captain Hendriks suggests to the Gnodes to use their technology and ships to go to the Ztamari homeworld and send a small team with them. The USS Walang itself can stay in the region and continue the exploration closer by. "We will have to explore this region to get to know it.Find aliens on new worlds, ask them to join the Federation. We can send a small diplomatic team with the Gnodes to visit the Ztamari." And so it is done. A small team of five under command of Lieutenant Commander Jennifer Calhoun, Chief JAG Officer, including Ensign Ronny Match, an excellent security offficer and three delegates, is transported aboard the Gnode ship, which after preparations are completed, sets course to the Ztamari homeworld. The voyage of the Gnode ship will only take three weeks to get to the Ztamari homeworld. At the same time the Federation is informed about the first contact of the USS Walang crew, the USS Walang has already explored a larger region in this sector. Sixteen stars and 34 planets have been mapped but there are no interesting planets to report about. Until the next day when sensors detect a star system called OP-33. The third planet of that starsystem is a beautiful planet. It looks like Earth. When the USS Walang enters standard orbit, first scans indicate only animal and plant life forms. The crew is so excited that an away team is send to the planet for further investigation. It is again first officer Harry Belafonte who has the honor to report from this beautiful planet. "Captain. You should really come down here. This is so beautiful and every life form seems to live in harmony with eachother. The mountains, rivers, flowers, even the smallest animal... it is incredible." This sounds like a nice invitation. Captain hendriks knows what to do. She has been on the ship to long anyway. "I will go to the planet OP-33 myself to see what this planet looks like. And then we will start thinking about what to do with this planet. We will gather information and think first before acting. It might be the right decision to leave such a planet alone. We will not immediately contact Starfleet Command, we will see for ourselves first." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 27 04.00 In all secrecy Lieutenant Commander Matz travels to the Komari home planet. She is not recognized as an alien on the planet as there are more than a few mercants from other systems. Strange thing that the Komari seem to do a lot of trading with other species and not with the Kaldaron. Apparently the Kaldaron indeed do not want to trade with the Komari. There is no indication that the Komari even want to dominate other species. Day 27 6.30 Lieutenant Commander Matz has arrived in the office of the Komari President Tjuknaba. While she delivers the message from President Stremeto of Kaldaron Prime, Tjuknaba explains that these trade negotiations will be very difficult. The Kaldaron live most isolated and do not want to have to do with anybody else. These secret messages from President Stremeto of Kaldaron Prime and the Komari President Tjuknaba should be the first step of trading or at least of talking to each other. Other species have tried to trade with the Kaldaron, but gave up after a few attempts. Some were even threatened by the Kaldaron. It is as if the Kaldaron don't want anyone close to them. It is very suspicious, but Tjuknaba has no choice. It is in fact none of his business. Day 28 7.00 Lieutenant Commander Matz wakes up in one of the hotel rooms she has been given on Komari. There is a noise at her door. But Lieutenant Commander Matz, half Klingon, is battle ready. She opens the door and drags a man in, throws him on the floor and points her weapon towards him. By the looks of the man he is from Kaldaron. He is probably a spy. Matz decides to bring this man back to Kaldaron Prime and complain to President Stremeto. She does not let the Kolmari know about it. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg Finally the repairs abaord the USS Iceberg have finished and the ship is ready to leave spacedock. The next mission is to escort the USS Starshine. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado Planet D-34. An small away team of four, including Ensign Woodrow and Lieutenant Anderson are missing after they had found an alien fusion reactor. The local population, an old human Roman like species, is not aware of anything that has happened. But Lieutenant Jones, in command of the total away team sends Chief Petty Officer Daily to another group of the away team. "Chief Petty Officer Daily, see what you can do to reach the second landing party on the other side. Inform of our situation, and inform them that we are re-grouping." "Anything else ma'm?" "Yes. Contact the Cinebow, inform them of our status." "Yes ma'm." The USS Cinebow is contacted. Captain T'gor is a Vulcan who does everything by the book. He understands the situation of Lieutenant Jones on D-34 very well. If there are aliens on that planet, these aliens don't want anyone to see what they are doing. Captain T'gor orders Lieutenant Jones to have the away team stay together but also to send the runabout into orbit. In case of emergency the team in the runabout can beam everyone of the planet if necessary. The runabout crew can also scan from orbit for the lifesigns of the missing officers. So when the channel with Captain T'gor and the USS Cinebow is closed, Lieutenant Jones sends the two helm officers with the runabout nito orbit of D-34. At first they have nothing to report from orbit, but after only an hour sensors detect the life signs of Lieutenant Anderson and the other three officers, including Ensign Woodrow. They are in good health, but they seem to be in a structure under the ground not far from the coordinates of the fusion reactor. "Lieutenant Jones, we have found them... Lieutenant Jones... Runabout to anyone of the USS Colorado away team..." Aboard the runabout the two officers look at each other. They realise they have lost the entire away team. Or at least they cannot contact them. From orbit the sensors follow the lifesigns of the entire away team which apparently is carried away to the same structure as where Lieutenant Anderson and his team are. There are at least 20 alien biosignatures. This looks a lot like kidnapping. The runabout crew reports the situation to Captain T'gor in command of the USS Cinebow. The Cinebow is on its way to D-34. The entire away team on D-34 has been surrounded and captured by aliens who take them to a structure, lock them up all together in a large holding cell. The door is closed... ******************************************* At the same time abaord the USS Colorado Commander Tom Walker, Captain Jeffrey Harrison and 40 security officers are making the last preparations to board the Romulan warbird. Commander Walker reports. "Captain we might have an ace in our hands." "Explain." "While we had the T'Lor and Senator Palet on board for the Tour. Mr Sonak scanned the ship and found what looked liked the ships prefix code. It is similar as the prefix code we have on Star ships." "In other words we can control the ship." "Yes, but we would need distraction for at least 45 seconds." "What kind of distraction." And then again it seems that Lieutenant Sonak is a specialist, when Commander Walker gives him the order. "Mr Sonak prepare the distraction, and contact the Romulans." But Captain Harrison still has some doubts. He wants to know exactly what Lieutenant Sonak is planning to do. "Care to explain Mr Sonak." "Yes Captain, I'm using the code the Romulans used to contact us but in a different form. I'm placing the prefix code through their ships computer. Once they will answer our hail, the prefix code will activate imediately." "You mean hacking there ships computer. Alright, you've convinced me. Mr Sonak inform the other ship of our plan. And hail the Romulans." As soon as contact is established Lieutenant Sonak's plan is initiated. The plan is going well and Sonak gets access to the warbirds computer systems. Sonak is able to shut down the shields of the warbird. At that moment the Federation troops assembled from 8 ships surrounding the Romulan vessel are transported on to the Romulan ship. But the Romulans are not willing to give up easily. A heavy battle begins. Fights, even man to man, in every corridor of the Romulan ship cause casualties on Romulan side, but also on Federation side. Commander Walker fights side by side with Captain Harrison, who shows that he is certainly not a deskboy. Covered by his security officers Captain Harrison makes his way to the bridge of the ship, most heavily defended by the Romulans. Walker who is right behind his Captain sees the danger and warns Harrison just in time. But then Captain harrison has an idea. He contacts Lieutnant Sonak on the USS Colorado and asks him to put a force field around the defending Romulans, using the computer of the w Romulan warbird itself. Sonak is able to do that and reports. "Captain, If I were human, I would say, You have a green light..." Harrison is surprised by Sonak's words, but this is the moment he has been waiting for. Harrison leaves his cover position and smiling he walks to the entrance of the bridge. Not only the Romulans are surprised, but also the USS Colorado security officers. Some of them want to shout that the Captain should return, before he gets himself killed. Harrison waves at the Romulans who start shooting in his direction. But the forcefields stop their weapons fire and the waving Captain of the USS Colorado walks just by as if it was a parade. Now the rest of the USS Colorado troops jump to their feet and walk, waving at the Romulans onto the bridge where the Romulans are captured in forcefields as well. It is clear the Romulans had set up explosives to blow up the ship, but they were not ready yet. It gives Captain Harrison and his men the chance to disarm the bombs. Harrison waves at Commander Walker and Walker knows what to do. He contacts the other troops and advices them to look for explosives... Three hours later the Romulan warbird is in control of the Starfleet troops. Captain Harrison is called to the Federation Council, where he arrives with his First Officer in dress uniform. It is the Starfleet Command C-in-C who addresses the Federation Council and Captain Harrison. "Ladies and Gentlemen of the Federation Council. It is my pleasure to announce to you the success we had in preventing the destruction of the Federation council and the defeat of the Romulans who are now all captive in our prisons. A lot of people we have to thank, but especially Captain Jeffrey Harrison, commanding officer of the USS Colorado, who used his skills to prevent more casualties in this matter. Captain Harrison. You have proved to be more than just a Starfleet Captain. We need you to teach your skills to the younger officers of Starfleet. Therefore you are assigned to the Starfleet Academy where you will become an instructor, with the promotion to the rank of Commodore. Commander Tom Walker you have proved more than a few times to be ready for your own command of a Starfleet starship. You are hereby promoted to the rank of Captain and you will asume your duties as Commanding Offcier of the USS Colorado. Congratulations Gentlemen..." The entire Federation council stands up and starts applauding for the two officers... Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper Ambassador Stevens will use his diplomatic skills and bring the "Rising Sons" and Lina Corona together for negotiations. A peaceful sollution can be worked out for all, but how ? And it will take some time of "give and take" from males and females... And thinking the matter further should Lina agree to him contacting the Alice Cooper-B, Jas likewise came up with an added idea that... while it might prove very risky indeed... might grant him an extra barganing chip (or two) when dealing with Angel One's established leadership -- an offer that would hopefully go far in soothing whatever remaining fears the women of this particular Matriarchate world might possess in relationship to their more powerful (more-or-less patriarchal) interstellar neighbours all around them. Yet realizing all-the-same the incredible risk he was about to take should Lina allow him contact with the Alice Cooper-B -- more-or-less confident the "Supereme Mother" back home would protest little should SHE figure out what he was up to -- Jas likewise hoped at the very same time that neither Captain Kalee, his crew, or the Federation itself guessed at his true intent when asking them to make available to him the COMPLETE memory banks aboard the small Commonwealth passenger ship Jas at first arrived in this alternate reality aboard... Captain Kalee's answer was short. "It is your ship. We will not do anything with it. You can download whatever you think you can use to stop this disagreement on Angel One between the males and the females.." The priority of Starfleet seemed to be set. It gave Ambassador Jas Stevens a certain amount of responsibility. If this would go wrong, war was at hand, and maybe the Romulans and Cardassians who were behind this entire situation, could not stop it. Later that day, it was Lina Corona herself who took Ambassador Stevens with her to a small building in the middle of the capital city. Entering in the building is done with a special key. Once inside it strikes Ambassador Stevens that there are a serious number of guards, mostly women. A much smaller group of men is standing on the opposit side, as if they don't want to have anything to do with the women. Although both groups are in uniform, different uniforms that is, none of them carry any weapons. Through the group Ambassador Stevens is lead by Lina Corona to a smaller room. In the room there are luxurious seats and tables who must have a long history. There are refreshments on a small table at the side where a servant is waiting to be called. In the middle there is a larger table, where a man sits at one side and a woman at the other side. Lina Coronna whispers in Ambassador Stevens ear that these are Beatta III of Angel One at one side and on the other side Marco Danno, leader of the "Rising Sons". Both of the leaders are accompanied by two of their own guards, without weapons. There is a third seat at this table, clearly put there for Ambassador Stevens. When the Ambassador sits down Beatta III and Danno are already accusing each other. "... And equal chances? What do you think that means for males on this planet? We ahve always been sub sub sub on any job, any position, almost slaves... We pleaded, we begged, we threatened, but the only way we could get your attention seems to be violence. Actually I find that very sad." "That is a serious exaggeration. Males have equal chances. Statisticly it is not this way, but that doesn't indicate..." At that moment Ambassador Stevens sits down and Lina Corona takes a seat and sits next to him. Lina introduces Ambassador Stevens as a mediator. It is clear that Ambassador still has a lot of work here, but the fact that the two leaders are present here, together is a major breakthrough. But the wall between them has to be broken down, brick by brick. Players: Crew of the Starship Starchild (Former USS Alice Cooper) Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) On planet Giunoma III two Hirogen soldiers Horkan and Jotarn have helped to capture a worm-like symbiont creature called Tayet, a Goa'uld system Lord. The host of Tayet is killed, but the Tok'ra who resist the Goa'uld and fight them have locked up Tayet. But the Tok'ra themselves are also hosts and the hosts of the symbionts Tar and Verti are going to die. Jotarn and Horkan volonteer to become the new hosts of Tar and Verti. Both Hirogen know that their species is not going to last much longer and is almost gone. there are not many Hirogen hunters left. With combining their bodies as host for a Tok'ra symbiont especially Jotarn hopes to live much longer and renew the Hirogen species with more successors. The procedure is short, but once again the hirogen prove to be much stronger than humans. In almost 20 minutes both of them are back on their feet and ready to fight. Horkan has become host of Tar and Jotarn has become host of Verti. While the Hirogen mentally start talking with their symbionts, the group under leadership of the Tok'ra Parmuf moves towards a transporter device which they will use to get on to the Goa'uld mothership. only a moment later the group of seven arrives on the mothership. Using the intercom of the ship, Parmuf makes an announcement. "Attention jaffa of Tayet. Your leader Tayet has been captured. You can choose to go free and surrender this ship or you can fight and probably lose the fight." The jaffa do not believe the Tok'ra Parmuf as they consider it to be a trap. They consider Tayet as their god and they will die for their god. the fight is not very heavy. Most of the jaffa had already been killed on the planet and the few who are left on the mothership quickly have to retreat. After only 30 minutes the last jaffa are captured in a room. There are only three jaffa of Tayet left. One of them is wounded. Jotarn enters the room and the heavy voice of his symbiont, Verti is heard by the jaffa. Usually jaffa are not scared easily, but by seeing the large Hirogen soldier they step back. Verti speaks through Jotarn. "Lay down your weapons. We have captured Tayet. Your case is lost. Surrender." But the jaffa are not easily convinced. "You lie. You are a Tok'ra. You are a traitor. You will be killed. Tayet is a god. You are trying to trick us." At that moment the conversation stops. The three remaining jaffa point their weapons, but they are killed by Parmuf and Jotarn. Verti asks Jotarn and Horkan to join the Tok'ra on this mothership to go to Lanado II to free more people of the Goa'uld. For Horkan and Jotarn it is a bit strange to hear somebody else speak for them, but they have received a lot of information about the Goa'uld and the Tok'ra. But Jotarn realises that they still have a ship in orbit of Jektana III. Now that the two Hirogen know how to build a hyperdrive they cold use their own ship to help the Tok'ra. The Hirogen ship is as powerful as a small Goa'uld ship... The two Hirogen Horkan and Jotarn will join the Tok'ra Parmuf and go with them to Lanado II to free more Tok'ra, and free the people of that planet of the Goa'uld. Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report September 2005 USS Earth The USS Earth is on its way to a star system called NC-05, where the Vlodinans live. According the Erkadai, the Vlodinans have just discovered space travel and have successfully completed a mission to another planet in their system. The USS Earth crew does not want to disturbe the evolution of the Vlodians and makes preparations for staying undetected. Antropologists and engineers aboard USS Earth are extremely curious of how the Vlodians have developed space travel. But it is still uncertain whether a large scale survey can be done. As the days pass more officers aboard study the long range sensors more thorough. Surprises are not really on the whish list. But a big surprise is waiting 'around the corner'... "Commodore! You are not going to believe this. We are picking up communications between the Vlodian homeworld and a Vlodian space ship." There is no doubt. Everyone on the bridge wants to see the communications. "Audio only Commodore." Chief of Operations Lieutenant Harry Dankers pushes a few buttons and the very clear conversation of the Vlodians sounds on the USS Earth bridge. "...Understood Homefront. We are counting down and resolving the pipeline. It is done." "Well done pilot Drosna. We are with you all the way. Please remember that when you accellerate we may lose contact for a short time. Do not panic." "We never panic Homfront. My co-pilot Crotana confirms. I wouldn't have it any other way. Crotona has brought de main engine on line. Homefront please confirm." "Confirmed pilot. Are you ready for the big step?" "Ready as we will ever be Homefront. Counting down 5, 4, 3, Ok Crotana push the button, 2, 1, now." Then it is silent for a moment on the USS Earth bridge. Then there is the voice of the pilot again. "It works, it works. Homefront the engine is holding, structural integrety is holding. Good lord Crotana do you see how fast we are going. Wow." Then it is silent again until Lieutenant Dankers reports. "Commodore. I am picking up a warp trail between the third and fourth planet of the NC-05 system. The second planet seems to be the homeplanet of the Vlodians. Commodore sensors are detecting a small vessel at warp 2, increasing to warp 3." Then there is the voice of the pilot again. "Homefront, our sensors detect a space ship. It is huge. Crotona do you see it. Yes I see it too. Homefront, co-pilot confirms. It is a space ship, bigger than my imagination... Unbelievable. They must be aliens..." It is silent on the bridge of the USS Earth. All officers realise that they have made first contact with the Vlodians. As it seems that the Vlodians have the ability to travel faster than light, things have changed. Two days later Commodore Steichen and her crew are welcomed in orbit of the Vlodian homeworld. The Vlodian King is honored to come aboard the USS Earth and visits the ship with a few scientists who developed the warp drive. The evolution has been really fast as these scientists have discovered a way to keep the hydrogen atom stabel with six electrons. They have found a way to gain a huge amount of energy out of this atomic construction. Something that Federation scientists have never been able to do. The scientists hope to get to warp nine in the upcoming year and maybe even break the threshold of warp ten within two or three years. These scientists have the full support of the King and the Vlodian population. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 Aboard the smugglers ship Plakdet Captain of the ship and leader of the group, called Grinosos, is very pleased. "Well ladies and gentlemen. We have launched an old forgotten weapon on a planet with the desired destructive effect. I am very pleased. Now we have to find some people who want to make a bid on our stolen technology." The only sound on bridge of the Plakdet is roaring laughter. The crew of seven realises they can be rich in a very short time and never have to do anything ever again. They talk about their favorite whishes and what they are going to do with the latinum they will get for the technology they don't really understand. They could make it work though and that is the only thing that matters. But the fun doesn't last long. One of the smugglers called Haron, reports. "There is a Starfleet ship coming at us. I think they are on a direct intercept course. It is a Souvereign class vessel. Grinosos, we cannot outrun them. And we are no match for them in battle. What shall we do?" "Don't panic. We have their precious genenis. And they probably know that. They will not harm us." Aboard the USS Mexico Commodore Van Nieuwenhove addresses the smugglers. "Attention smugglers abaord the ship Plakdet. You will surrender your ship and prepare to be boarded. You are all under arrest. If you resist, we will be forced to open fire." But Grinosos is not impressed. His face appears on the main viewer on the USS Mexico bridge. His grin speaks for itself. "Aha, a Commodore. I have never met a starfleet Commodore before. This is a real honor. You must have come all this way for this genesis thing haven't you? Well you cannot hurt us. We have some friends who know all about this genesis device and they are hiding on some planet far far away. If anything happens to us, they will retalliate. So you will let us go on our way... No I have a better idea. You know what, I am prepared to give your second in command all the details about the genesis thing, where we got it and what our plans are, if you, Commodore Van Nieuwenhove, come over to my ship and you will be my hostage for a free passage to anywhere I want. You have my word that we will never use that genisis thing ever again. So what do you say about that? I will give you one hour to think about it." Commodore Van Nieuwenhove has his own ideas... "It is possible more people are connected to the operations of these smugglers and they could have the same information as the smugglers themselves. It is to risky to kill them, and when you arrest them, there is a chance they will not tell anything. Have all of Starfleet search to all info they can get on these smugglers and their connection to genesis and who else is involved so you can arrest or kill all of the people involved in one blow. You only have one hour. This could fail..." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt Approaching a sphere like space station occupied by a rebel group under command of General Daral fighting a dictator emperor, the crew of the USS Thunderbolt decides to join these rebels and try to end the dictatorship. Especially when Master One remarks that this emperor could be a last Stiegl leader of some kind, the threat seems to be bigger than expected. Starfleet Command has not much ships to spare, due to last wars, but the new build Defiant class USS Recon is ready to accompany the USS Thunderbolt and the strange space station. The space station itself is moving slow and the USS Recon has time enough to travel to the USS Thunderbolt. During this time Master One has already studied the files on the crew of the USS Recon. Master One reports to Commodore Mechels. "Commodore Mechels. The USS Recon is a brand new ship. It is heavily armed and heavily armored for a Starfleet ship. The Commanding Officer is Commander Patrick Summer. Commander Summer has the rank of Commander for three days now. He used to be the assistant chief engineer aboard the USS Oregon. But as there was no time to assemble a fully trained crew and Captain, Starfleet has promoted Lieutenant Summer up to Commander and made put him in command of the USS Recon." "So Commander Summer is just a rookie?" "If I were human I would say something like that as well. But the USS Recon is the only help we will get." After the meeting with Master One, Commodore Mechels returns to the bridge just in time to see that the USS Recon has arrived and is now also following the space station. Commander Summer reports in. "USS Thunderbolt, Commodore Mechels, I am Commander Patrick Summer, reporting in as ordered sir." On the main viewer on the bridge of the USS Thunderbolt has a young man appeared. He has the looks of a Starfleet officer who has just graduated from the Starfleet Academy. Commodore Mechels gives his orders. "We are going to share our technology with the USS Recon so they can upgrade their ship and become as powerful as the USS Thunderbolt." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang The USS Walang is in orbit of a planet called OP-33, a beautiful untouched planet, looking like paradise. Captain Marja Hendriks herself has gone down to the planet and walks around now on a secured place in the middle of beautiful trees, flowers, plants, a small river, yellow grass which shines like the star which is setting down to let the night start. Like it seems, nobody of the USS Walang wants to leave as the night comes. Some even ask the Captain to change position and find another place in orbit at the day side of the planet. But the USS Walang crew is not the only group of people who are interested in this planet. "Captain a ship is approaching. The ship is three times as large as ours, no weapons, no defensive systems. The captain of that ship is trying to contact us." "Open communications." "Hi there all. I am Captain Gritsumor. I am in command of the Pleasure Cruise Ship Joyfully. I can see that we have some competition to visit this beautiful planet. Who are you." "I am Captain Marja Hendriks in command of the starship USS Walang. Why are we your competition?" "Oh come'on Captain Hendriks. You are visiting this planet and you probably have tourists aboard who pay a lot to get on your cruise ship. I'll tell you something. You can have your tourists land on one side and I will have my tourists land on the other side of the planet. There is plenty of space for all of our toerists right?" "We are not tourists Captain Gritsumor. We are explorers. What are you planning to do on this planet?" "Aha explorers. Well you know. We will build luxury hotels, all kinds of facilities for our special guests and other tourists. We will make so much money, we can swim in it." Captain Hendriks is not that happy with this idea. "You will destroy this planet then." Now it is Captain Gritsumor who is surprised. "Who cares... We will make so much money... Look Captain Hendriks, We have traveled 4 months to get here. Honestly our guests and tourists aboard have become restless... Actually... Look I have more than two thousand people abaord my ship and I cannot wait another day longer to put them all on this planet. they will take over my ship and I will be ruined. So please let me put this people on the planet. I will give you twenty percent of my profit." But Captain Hendriks talk as positive as possible and explains why this planet should stay as it is. Her answer is clear. "We will Defend the planet OP-33. Tourists are not welcome here. We claim this planet as a planet of the Federation. We will defend it by force if necessary." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 29 11.06 Lieutenant Commander Matz who has offered herself as a delivery person to the Komari and the Kaldaron, two neighbouring species who don't have a very good relation. Except that the leaders of the two peoples try to resolve that problem. But not everyone agrees on the actions of their governments. Matz captures a Komari spy and returns this spy personnally to the Kolmari President Tjuknaba, without letting President Stremeto of Kaldaron Prime know about it. Tjuknaba is very upset with the incident and orders the immediate execution of the spy to set an example. Day 29 15.49 It is clear to Lieutenant Commander Matz that she cannot do more for the Komari and for the Kaldaron. She contacts the USS Vertigo to get back aboard her ship. Day 29 15.52 Lieutenant Commander Matz reports the situation about the Kaldaron and Komari to Commodore Slater. Slater does not see anything positive about both species. He decides to write a negative report for both species and advices the Federation council that none of the two species is ready to join the Federation. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The USS Iceberg is traveling in sector 326544. It is still 4 days before the USS Starshine will meet the USS Iceberg. The daily routine aboard takes over but after the third day the USS starshine has not yet showed up on long range sensors. After contacting the USS Starshine through commuinications relay station J-5, Captain Hendry Stokes, in command of the USS Starshine confirms a delay of at least 6 more days. For the USS Iceberg crew and marines this is a good time to conduct training exercises on the holodecks, run battle simmulations and conducting battle drills. Colonel Crow finds this a must, as when the USS Starshine needs protection in battle, the escorting USS Iceberg should be ready. During these extra days Atad has time to review all files of the complete crew of the USS Starshine. It seems a bit strange that the very small Nova class USS Starshine has to be escorted by the very big Souvereign class USS Iceberg. Atad reports this to Colonel Crow. Atad's conclusion is based on simple logic. "Colonel, we can do any mission without the USS Starshine. It is a waste of resources to have a large schip as ours escort the small USS Starshine. The only thing I can think of is that the USS Starshine has something aboard, which only can kept on that particular class of ship and not on ours. I cannot imagine what that would be. But I suggest we search for more information about this mission, so we know what to expect." The Colonel agrees. This is a strange situation indeed. Crow decides to contact Starfleet Command to gain more information about the mission of the USS Starshine, but everyone he contacts cannot give him more information, then he already knows. Atad is not able to find much more either. If the USS Starshine is on a secret mission, it is kept really very secret indeed. During the following days nothing more turns up and when the USS Starshine arrives Colonel Crow asks Captain Hendry Stokes can only say that the matter is classified. Stokes cannot give any more information himself. Colonel Crow has no choice but to follow the USS Starshine wherever it goes. When the two ships jump to warp, the USS Iceberg is almost on top of the USS Starshine... Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado Brand new Captain Walker is very happy with his promotion. "Thank you for the promotion, which I except. I promise you Admiral the Colorado and it's crew will for fill all his missions." "Thank you Captain Walker. But I have request for you, I was hoping that you might remain here for atleast two more weeks." "Two weeks admiral. I have a crew on planet D- 34." "If you let me finish Captain, the USS Cinebow has made contact with your crew, and is supporting them in anyway possible." "Than there is a problem!" "All we know that they are held in a holding cell by the Aliens. And that Captain T'gor is doing everything possible." "Can I contact the Cinebow?" "Captain T'gor is a good Captain, and will handle the situation." It is clear that Admiral Mifuné does not want Captain Walker to go back to D-34. Apparently the Admiral has other plans. But there are still some things Captain Walker has to take care of. "Admiral I have to return the to Colorado and make the promotion known and official the crew." "By all means Captain." "Can I expect you to be there Admiral." "I like to accept, and will be onboard on hour time." "Walker to Colorado one to beam up." "Colorado, Standby commander." On the Colorado Captain Walker calls Lieutenant Sonak. "Mr Sonak we have just been promoted." "I have no knowledge of been promoted commander." "I know, I've been promoted to Captain Mr Sonak. And I promote you to my First Officer Mr Sonak." "Thank you Captain." As Lieutenant Sonak was the Chief of security he has to be replaced now that he has been assigned as First Offcier. The new Chief of Security abaord the USS Colorado will be Lieutenant Jeffrey Wayne an excellent officer and very skilled in weapons and defensive systems. Walker gives his first orders to his new First Offcier. "First order of business is to inform the crew of the chance of command that will be done in hour time, I would like you to see to it, all senior officers in full dress. I want the whole works. (In the main reception hall Mr Sonak)" "That does not leave much time." "I would suggest you start now Mr Sonak. Do we have Scotsman on board?" "Yes Lieutenant Robert Wallace." "Good inform him to be present in full dress, and tell him to bring his pipes." "His what Captain." "His pipes, every Scotsman has pipes." When called not really sure how to address Captain Walker, Ensign Francis Crawford addresses the Captain as Commander. "Commander incoming message from the Captain. Crawford clearly is a bit confused about the promotions. "Thank you Ensign, on screen." "Tom here Commodore, we are expecting you in one hour time." "You like will in that chair." "Thank you, I had some practice over the years. Admiral Mifuné will be present and make the promotion official in the crew's presence. " "Ensign you may address as Captain from now on. It will be official in hour time." Walker pushes a button on his chair and informs the crew about the ceremony that is about to take place. "All hands this First officer Tom Walker, I hereby inform the entire crew that I have been promoted to Captain of this Starship the USS COLORADO. Commander Sonak has been promoted to First Officer. Captain Harrison has been promoted to Commondore, and will the promotion official in hours time. You are all hereby invited." The promotion ceremony is beautiful, especially with the bagpipes played by Lieutenant Robert Wallace. But at the end of the evening the party has to end. It is time to say good-bye to Commodore Jeffrey Harrison, who returns to Starfleet Academy where he will continue his duties. As last of the guests Admiral Mifuné addresses Captain Walker. "Captain. What I am going to tell you is classified and only you and your First Officer may know about it. The Vulcan embassy is under control of seven Romulan agents. As you know Romulans and Vulcans look alike, so the Romulans could easily infiltrate in the Vulcan embassy. These seven Romulan agents can be detected by DNA scan from a large distance. But we cannot transport them out. They have set up forcefields which prevent us from transporting them out. There are some ways to get into the Vulcan Embassy. There are the sewers, which seem to be the safest way in, but you have to crawl for almost a full day before you reach the Embassy. I picked you to do this as you have shown you can handle this kind of thing. You can take anyone with you. You can take a large group or a small specilised team. It is all up to you. Please make as few casualties as you can. And if you can take one of the Romulans captive. But it is not necessary. Those are your orders. Dismissed. Contact me when you are ready." Without waiting for an answer, Admiral Mifuné leaves. While Captain Walker is making his plan Lieutenant Ally Jones has her own problems. Her entire away team has been captured by aliens on the planet D-34. These aliens do not originate from D-34 and they are visitors like the Starfleet team. The runabout of the team with the two pilots in orbit of D-34 will get help from the USS Cinebow under command of Captain T'Gor. Lieutenant Jones is interrogated by one of the aliens called Leor. "You there, are you the leader of the group? What do you do here?" "My name Lieutenant Ally Jones we are explorers. It was not our intentions, we wanted to observe." "My name is Leor, I am the head of the people you have been watching. Tomorrow will we watch you among us as you have been watching us. And maybe learn, Tlan bring them better quarters and give food to them." "Yes my lord." While the away team is moved through the structure ensign Woodrow addresses Lieutenant Jones. "Commander I still have scanner and tricoder and combadge." "Good, do what you, and send a message through. Inform them of our current status, and that we have made some contact?" "I'll do what I can." Ensign Woodrow is able to send some text messages to the runabout where the officers relay the information to the USS Cinebow. Captain T'Gor is very angry that Starfleet Offciers are captured and prepares a large assault on D-34 to the structure where the officers are captive. Leor explains to Lieutenant Jones that they are from a species called Sctor. The Sctor team is observing the primitive population of D-34. It seems that the Sctor team and the Starfleet team are doing exactly the same. Leor explains that he didn't want to take any risks with the Federation officers and Lieutenant Jones realises that she would probably have done the same. Just when Leor and Lieutenant Jones come to an agreement of non aggression, at least twenty Starfleet officers of the USS Cinebow transport in the room, heavily armed and immediately point their weapons at Leor. Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper Diplomatic talks are never easy and many examples in the history of humans but also other species have proved that such talks are always leading to a happy ending of the relations betwen two adversaries. Beatta III of Angel One at one side and on the other side Marco Danno, leader of the "Rising Sons" and in between Ambassador Stevens and Lina Corona trying to keep things easy. Most welcome are the moments of silence so all four of them can think about a sollution. But it is clear these talks are going to take a long time... Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) The stargate opens to Lanado II. Two Hirogen and a Tok'ra Parmuf step through the gate. On Lanado II there is a Goa'uld mining facility. Several Tok'ra operatives are working in secrecy in the mine. But they have to be taken out, the mine has to be destroyed and the group has to escape from Lanado II. The two Hirogen have to keep themselves in clothing so they will not be recognized. Aliens will be detected by the Jaffa, easily among humans. When approching the mine through the wood, the three men stop and observe the mine. With the Hirogen scanners four Tok'ra in the mine are detected and their movements. While the Hirogen wait in at the wood, Parmuf infiltrates in the mine and warnes his Tok'ra friends to get ready to escape. One by one the Tok'ra leave the mine, unseen to the Jaffa guards and join Horkan and Jotarn at the wood. After almost one hour all the Tok'ra are save and plan a next thing to do. A Tok'ra called Deston seems to be the eldest as he speaks first. "We must rescue all slaves here and give them freedom. The Goa'uld systemlord Sataj who controls this territory needs the naquada from this mine to be able to compete with the other systemlords." All of this sounds a bit strange to the Hirogen, but their symbionts, Tar and Verti explain that the Goa'uld system lord Sataj is the wife of the Goa'uld Khnum. Together they dream of being the most powerful systemlord. Naquada is a miniral which can be used as a power source, used for all kinds of things, including powering space ships and weapons. The communication between the Hirogen and their Tok'ra symbionts is going very well and Jotarn is even happy with his symbiont Verti who has a great feeling of humor. But this is time to be serious. Deston speaks again. "First of all, Sataj is not on this planet. Now for the second thing... We cannot let these people die while we destroy this mine. We have set explosives everywhere, but we need a plan to kill all Jaffa, free these people and bring them to a safe planet. There is only a small group of seven here. There are thousands of slaves and at least two hundred Jaffa soldiers guarding the mine." But Parmuf who has seen the Hirogen soldiers in action has a plan already. "We have to lure the Jaffa away from the mine or trap them in one of the lower corridors of the mine and make a stand as long as it takes to evacuate the slaves through the stargate. Jotarn and Horkan are fierce fighters. They will be spotted by the Jaffa as aliens. That should be enough to lure them away. The number of Jaffa guards left at the mine will be small and we can take them out and free the slaves. Jotarn, Horkan, will you help us?" Jotarn and Horkan realise the risks involved. "Yes we will follow your plan, Parmuf. We will lure the Jaffa away from the mine and let the Tok'ra free the slaves. We know this is dangerous. It is possible we cannot escape to the Stargate..." Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report October 2005 USS Earth NC-05. The Vlodians seem to be a more advanced species than first thought. Now that Commodore Steichen has discovered that the Vlodians have developed a warp drive and now are also capable of warp speed, she will try to make them integrate in the United Federation of Planets like they requested. Their technology could be of great value for the Federation. The diplomatic talks between the Federation, represented by two Vulcans and the Vlodians go surprisingly well. The two Vulcan diplomats, Lodak and Senok report to Ambassador K'nol leading the embassy on K-982. After not yet a week, Lodak and Senok open an Federation embassy on the Vlodian homeworld. During the reception and party following the official ceremony it becomes clear that the Vlodians do not want help from the Federation concerning technology. The Vlodian scientists are so enthousiastic about space travel, they all want to find out themselves and they reject help, because that would spoil things... And although Lodak and Senok carefully mention that they could use some weapons on their ships, the Vlodian king, Darrnant XII refuses. "I know you mean well, but we are a peacefull society. And we know that there must be dangers out there that we know nothing about, but we will find other ways than fighting to escape from such events." After the late night party Commodore Steichen and her senior officers return to the USS Earth, leaving Lodak and Senok, a medical team and some officers at the embassy. Following the peacefull custom of the Vlodians, none of the Federation personnel has any weapons and no weapons are provided. Although it seems a bit strange not to have any weapons on an entire planet, Commodore Steichen just has to believe it. The Vulcans will probably find out more. The next day the USS Earth breaks orbit and leaves to the next planet on the list. Time for regular routine has taken over from the enthousiasme of the Vlodians being now a member of the United Federation of Planets in an extreme short time. After almost six days it seems the fast evolving Vlodians are already in trouble. Apparently one of their three space ships has been ambushed by space raiders of unknown origin. The Vlodian ship was able to escape but the raiders are in pursuit. From the embassy Senok and Lodak contact the USS Earth. "Commodore Steichen. It is illogical to think the Vlodians can win a battle against six of those raiders ships. From what we hear from the Vlodians these ships are much slower than the Vlodian ships, but they still will arrive here within a week. From the communications between the Vlodians and these raiders we understand that these raiders are going to plunder and loot the Vlodian homeworld especially was they know there are no weapons here. Although we cannot understand why the Vlodians are so calm. It is like there is no threat at all to them. Maybe they are a bit naive..." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 Commodore Van Nieuwenhove aboard the USS Mexico is confronted with smugglers on a ship called Plakdet. The leader of the smugglers, called Grinosos, has the technology of the genesis device and threatens to use it. He has already demanded that Commodore Van Nieuwenhove himself has to come abaord the Plakdet as a hostage... The Commodore has one hour to think about it. But the Commodore himself orders to find anything about these smugglers and their associates... Unknown to the crew of the USS Mexico, Starfleet Command is a little in panic. The genesis technology seems to be in the hands of a group untrustworthy smugglers. All of Starfleet security, even the intelligence officers aboard space station Deep Space 2 at the other side of Federation territory get into the action. Everything on Grinosos and his friends... But one hour is not very long and when it passes no secured sollution has been found yet. Grinosos loses his patience. "Commodore. Your time is up." Without waiting for an answer the Plakdet fires a strange kind of beam on the USS Mexico. Aboard the Mexico power shuts down. "Commodore that weapon has penetrated our shields. Power is failing, propulsion is off line, communications as well, weapons are off line, shields are at 15 percent... We are dead in the water sir." Captain Sigrid Johansson might have a plan. "Commodore, we have three runnabouts in the main shuttlebay. They are not damaged by the weapon of the smugglers. They are ready to go and fully loaded with quantum torpedoes. You just have to give the order and they will blow these smugglers out of space. If the smugglers can fire again we are dead sir." "We have three runabouts aboard which are not effected by the unknown weapon of the smugglers. They can be launched. Attack the smugglers ship Plakdet and if possible destroy it." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt Following a massive sphere like space station under command of a rebel General Daral, are the USS Thunderbolt, Commodore Mechels in command and the USS Recon, Commander Summer. Both Starfleet crews have no idea where they are going, but the time they have the USS Recon is upgraded to almost the same level of the Borg enhanced USS Thunderbolt. After passing the border of the Federation, new grounds are explored so to speak. especially the very young crew of the USS Recon are very excited. What they thought would be just another escort mission without to much responsibility, has turned into a voyage into the unknown. At the same time aboard the USS Thunderbolt the very confident crew prepares for the worst, but they believe nothing can hurt them or their ship. As the days pass, tension aboard the space station seems to rise. Apparently the sensor grid of the space station has detected at least one ship from the empire strike force called a star destroyer. It is only two full minutes later that the USS Thunderbolt also detects one of those huge ships which actually makes the rebels a bit scared. It doesn't take long before a second star destroyer shows up. Then Suddenly without any indication or warning the space station starts faling apart. Parts of the sphere simply explode. The two star destroyers turn and head back where they came from. Master One aboard the USS Thunderbolt reports. "Commodore we have detected signals from the star destroyers towards the space station, which is now completely destroyed. There are some survivors in escape pods. With the communication the star destroyers were able to self destruct the space station. Apparently the rebels stole this space station and did not change any of the codes. So the troops of the empire had a simple... job and they succeeded." "Transport the survivors aboard and with their help, find this empire search for more rebels and strike." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang To prevent the planet OP-33 from invading tourists, Captain Hendriks has decided to defend the beautiful paradise like planet if necessary. Of course she realises that her ship has to move on and she can't keep the ship in orbit of OP-33 for ever. Therefore she calls upon her friends, the Gnodes for help. The Gnodes arrive shortly after Hendriks' request with a small fleet. When the Gnode General Gusnak sees the planet and the beauty of it, he understands Captain Hendriks completely. Gusnak orders his fleet to deploy defensife orbital platforms which can be put into action by remote control. Some satelites are also put in orbit of OP-33 to study the planet from orbit so nothing on the planet itself will be disturbed. The data gathered by these satelites will be shared with Captain Hendriks and her crew. With these satelite scans the USS Walang engineers are able to create a holodeck simmulation of the planet designated as OP-33. So anytime anyone wants to visit OP-33, they can access the holodeck program. After a few weeks it is time to say good-bye to the Gnodes and both the Gnodes as the USS Walang leave OP-33. The ship of tourists has returned to their home. Apparently the tour operator has promissed to take his tourists to a much better place. Captain Hendriks cannot believe that there is a better place than OP-33. But as it is time to go, the USS Walang sets course deeper into the Quadrant, unexplored by the Federation. Now that the planet OP-33 is saved, Captain Hendriks has new orders. "We will go to the Junakoni System. Rumor says that the Jukakonians are a very primitive sociaty. I want to study these primitive people." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 30 18.11 The USS Vertigo is on its way to Limara II to investigate a long time of silence. Limara II is a member of the United Federation of Planets, but there is nothing heard from the Limarans for 6 months. Day 35 11.24 Coming closer to Limara II, there is no answer to the communications attempts of the USS Vertigo. Day 42 13.19 The USS Vertigo is in orbit of the planet Limara II. The first scans indicate there is no life on the planet, except for plant life, not even animals. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The USS Iceberg under command of Colonel Crow is escorting the USS Starshine under command of Captain Hendry stokes. The crew of the USS Iceberg has no idea why the USS Starshine has to be escorted or where they are going. Most of the Starfleet Marines are ready to fight. But they cannot prepare to something they don't know. Tension is rising, but still under control. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado Leor, leader of a Sctor team, observing the primitive culture on D-34 is confronted with Lieutenant Jones who explains her team is doing exactly the same, but unknown to Captain T'gor as T'gor thinks her fellow officers have been captured. A moment later T'gor and at least twenty security troops from her ship have weapons pointed at Leor. But Lieutenant Jones intervenes. "Stop there is no need for that." "I assume that you are Lt. Ally Jones." "Yes, and you are C Captain T’gor of the Cinebow. Captain these are the Sctor, like us they are explorers." "Explorers you say!" "Yes, they were about the tell us about their findings when just been down." "Would you like to us to leave Lt." "No Captain, I apologize. But I believe that we should let Leor inform us." Captain T'gor understands there is a misunderstanding here. "Weapons down everybody." "You are Leor I can assume." "Yes." "Please continue." Captain T'gor waits until Leor or Lieutenant Jones speaks. It is Lieutenant Jones who speaks first. "As good gesture you could invite Leor." Leor is very pleased to hear this. "I always wanted to visit a Starfleet vessel!" ----------------------------------------------------------- At the same time peaceful relations between the Federation and the Sctor are established on D-34, Captain Walker in command of the USS Colorado has a request for Admiral Mifuné. "Addmiral I talkesd with my first officer Mr Sonak, We have away to get in the Vulcan Embassy. It may take take while to start the mission." "Explain Captain." "Mr Sonak is putting a team together of four Vulcans, none that work in the Embassy. One of then is Selnak which I have met on Vulcan. The other three Are Skola – T’elak and Tarek. We will meet then on Vulcan Freighter in two weeks." "Were is you first officer now?" "Mr Sonak is going over the plan on how we can leave the ship on an away mission consisting of us two." "I don’t want to know the details captain, but keep me informed. Miffuné out." The communication channel is closed and Captain Walker gives his orders. "Helm prepare to departure." "Heading sir." "Plot a course for Talos 4, warp 5, and engage." "Aye captain." The ship is on its way. Plans have to be made. "Mr Sonak can I see you in my ready room." While Captain Walker walks to his ready room he puts Lieutenant Wayne in command of the ship. "Lt. Wayne you have the com." After Commander Sonak has presentd his plan the Captain still has some questions. "Are you sure this will work?" "Are you judging my logic Captain?" "Not logic, there can be no failure’s. Lt. Wayne wont be hard to fool, and doesn’t like to be kept in the dark." "The shuttlecraft will explode interring orbit of Talos 4." "Explain!" "The shuttlecraft will explode from an energy overload." "How!" "Misjudging entering orbit of Talos 4, creating a power failure." "Looks easy to do, how we will fool the Colorado." "Before entering we transport down to the surface where we will be picked up by Selnak." "Good, now we have some time before we reach Talos 4. I want you to prepare the plan. Start in engineering and work your way up to the transporters. I want them offline by the time we reach Talos 4, and a shuttle craft to be the only options." "If I may captain, we should contact Talos 4 now, and inform them we be present in 2 hours time." "Very well. I‘ll meet you on the observation deck in 1 hour, for the final details." The plan has been made and while Sonak makes the last preparations, Captain Walker gets back on the bridge and addresses Lieutenant Doran. "Lt. Doran hail Talos 4." "I have Talos 4." "On screen." "This is Captain Thomas Walker, of the Star ship Colorado. I like to speak with Prime Minister Rodann Taol." "I am Prime Minister Rodann, we have been expecting you captain Walker? When will you arrive at Talos 4." "Greetings Prime Minister, we will arrive in 2 hours time." "We are very pleased to meet with you captain, it is a great honour for to talk with a Federation representative." "So are we Prime Minister. Colorado out." The channel is closed. One hour later Captain Walker and Commander Sonak again make the last adjustments to their plan. "Is everything ready Mr. Sonak." "Yes Captain. Selnak will meet at these co-ordinates." "What about the shuttlecraft?" "I will fly the shuttlecraft, creating a power overload which creates an engine failure. And crash land, nose down." "A frontal head crash, the ship will explode on impact." "That is correct captain." some time later Captain Walker addresses his officers. "Thank you gentlemen, as you all know the Talosians whish to join the Federation. And has asked that I and Mr. Sonak will join them, before bringing some of the crew the planet." But Lieutenant Wayne is concerned. "Captain, we don’t know much about the Talosians. I insist on putting a security team together to escort you." "That won’t be necessary Lt." "But Captain." "No Lt. We are there quests. The talks can be viewed, during the entire time. And when there is trouble we will let you know. In the mean time, I’m placing you in command of the ship for the time being, And expect you back within two weeks time. You have a pickup to do on Starbase 205, you can make in time. And be back in two weeks." Lieutenant Wayne realises that he cannot do more than follow the Captains orders but he still is concerned. "Anything else captain?" "Yes contact Talos 4, and ask for the Prime Minsiter Toal." "I have the Prime Minister for you Captain." "On screen." The Prime Minister appears on the main viewer. "Yes captain." "If you send the co-ordinates we transport down. " "My assistant Ninkaa will transmit the co-ordinates." Lieutenant Wayne looks at his diplay and reads the co-ordinates. "I have the co-ordinates captain." Everything is set now. "I meet you in a few minutes Prime Minister. Colorado out." Walker calls his first officer Sonak. "Mr Sonak meet in transporter room one." "I’m on my way captain, I have what we need!" But in the transporter room Ensign Jeffreys has some problems with the transporters. "Captain, the transporters are down, as I was entering the co-ordinates. I received a power failure. Engineering is working on the problem now Captain." "Thank you Ensign, that a be all." "Captain to engineering." "Lt. Torak here sir, we are working on the problem. It could take some time." "Thank you Lt." The the plan comes into motion as the Captain addresses Commander Sonak. "Mr Sonak it looks like we have to fly. Bridge this is the captain, apparently the transporters are malfunctioning. We are taking a shuttlecraft." "Lt. Wayne here captain, other stood." "Captain to Lt. Adams, please prepare a shuttlecraft. I’m on may way." "Adams here captain, we have one ready." "Bridge this is the captain, please inform the Prime minister of the delay, and inform we will be arriving with a shuttlecraft." "Understood captain." "Colorado to Talos 4." It is Ninkaa, the assistant of the Prime minister who replies to the call. "Ninkaa here, what can I do for you." "Lt. Wayne here, I’ve been informed by the captain that he will arrive by shuttlecraft." "Is there some kind of problem?" "Nothing we can't handle." "Very well I will inform Prime Minister Rodann. May I remind you, that we are currently having some heavy storms in the lower region." At the same time Captain Walker and Commander Sonak arrive in the shuttlebay. "Thank you Lt Adams. That I’ll be all." "No problem captain." When Adams has left Walker addresses Sonak. "Mr Sonak ready when you are." "One moment captain. I am ready." "Bridge to Captain." "Walker here, what is it Lt." "I have inform the Prime minister of the delay. His assistant informed us, that they currently having some heavy storms." "Thank you Lt. We will keep that in mind. Walker out." Sonak waits for the Captain's order to leave in the shuttlecraft. "Ready to leave the ship captain, we will arrive within a few moments." "Thank you Mr Sonak. Be careful there storms out there. How long!" "I am preparing the transporters. Approaching orbit of Talos 4, heaving storms ahead." RED ALERT RED ALERT Sonak analyses the data. "The ship has been hit by lightning from the storm captain. All power is down captain, not like we have planed." "Send signal and co–ordinates to Selnak, and prepare to crash the shuttlecraft." "Message send, and received." "Now Mr Sonak, transporters." Abaord the USS Colorado the flight of the Captain and First Officer are closely followed. It is Lieutenant Doran who reports. "I’ve lost the shuttlecraft." Lieutenant Wayne jumps to his feet in horror. "You’ve what?!" "The shuttlecraft was hit by lightning, a direct hit at their warp engine’s. The shuttlecraft exploded." ----------------------------------------------------------- Unknown of the trouble her former Captain is in, Lieutenant Jones, her team the Scotr team of Leor and Captain T'gor are beamed aboard the USS Cinebow. Leor is very happy to be aboard a ship, but he is also very enthousiastic about his study of the primitive culture on D-34. he tells all about it and explains what his team and he have seen. But during a moment when Captain T'gor is alone with Lieutenant Jones he asks her something... "Lieutenant my ship is understaffed. I can use more science officers like you and your team. We are heading towards the Grossoni Nebula. To be honest, with you and your team we can actually complete the study of the nebula. In afact some Federation scientists think the Grossoni Nebula is falling apart. But it is your decision. If you want to stay on D-34, that is fine. Just let me know what you decide." Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper As the diplomatic talks between Beatta III of Angel One, Marco Danno, leader of the "Rising Sons", Lina Corona and Ambassador Jas Stevens continue it is getting late and the entire group stops the talks to have a delicious dinner. The dinner is especially prepared to ease up the negotiators. During dinner Marco Danno confesses that not all of his "Rising Sons" will have a great party when these talks end in a positive way. But when there are enough signs of good will from Beatta III to have women and men as much as equal, this could change rapidly. But for Beatta III the situation is a bit reversed. She cannot just turn her society upside down. The entire process would take more time than the time the "Rising Sons" want to spend... Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) On Lanado II a small group of Tok'ra, with Parmuf and Deston accompanied by two Tok'ra Hirogen, Horkan and Jotarn plan to destroy a naquada mine of the Goa'uld system lord Sataj who is the wife of the goa'uld Khnum. But first the two Hirogen will distract the large group of Jaffa guarding the mine so that the Tok'ra can liberate the slaves. Horkan and Jotarn slowly crawl towards the mine. They know they will be detected if a Jaffa soldier sees one of them. But at the other hand the Jaffa need to discover the Hirogen so that the Hirogen can lure them away from the mine and block their way. The plan succeeds Harkon and Jotarn are able to get to a deserted part of the mine where there are no slaves. Both Hirogen jump up and start firing some small hand weapons at some Jaffa closeby. These Jaffa star shouting and return fire. "Jaffa Kree!" More Jaffa are coming and Jotarn and Harkon flee into the deserted mine, followed by about twenty Jaffa with at least fifty more on their way. By the time Harkon and Jotarn are at the second level of the mine, about a hundred Jaffa have entered the mine and about thirty are standing at the netrance. At the moment the Jaffa realise that this part of the mine is closed and deserted, they start moving back out. They know these aliens cannot go anywhere. But they are wrong... The Hirogen use their site to site transporters and transport themselves to the entrance of the mine. The Jaffa standing guard are taken completely by surprise. This time the Hirogen use their heavy disruptor rifles, walking back to back firing death and destruction. By the time the fight is over there are 32 Jaffa on the ground, at least 120 in the mine, blocked at the entrance by Jotarn and Harkon, who have an easy job keeping the Jaffa in the mine. A Jaffa who shows himself is shot in a rain of fire. Jotarn is hurt at the shoulder. It is only a minor injury and his symbiont Verti heals him easily. At the same time the Jaffa are trapped by the Hirogen, the Tok'ra liberate the slaves. They have to be fast and escort the slaves to the stargate where they al lstep through to a safe location. It is Parmuf who holds open the stargate, but he knows there are only 38 minutes... Jotarn has fired his weapon that causes the collapsing of the mine entrance. At this time the Hirogen run towards the stargate. Apparently some of the Jaffa are a bit amazed and just stare at the Hirogen running. But the some other Jaffa who are brave enough to attack the Hirogen are shot without them even stopping. When Jotarn and harkon arrive at the stargate Parmuf is still standing there. Just before the three walke through the stargate, Horkan puls a small switch on a small device. In the naquada mine a small explosion leads to a cascade reaction of the naquada. Parmuf lets both of the Hirogen through the stargate arriving just behind them at the other side, where almost 2000 fugitives. Deston is already speaking to them and encouraging them to start a new life on this planet called Gi. The stargate is closed at the moment the naquada chain reaction destroys the mine on Lanado II. The Fugitives are very thankful and realise they are free. Some of them are in bad shape, but the Tok'ra provide medical help. It is Parmuf who again thanks the Hirogen for their bravery in battle. But there are much more of these kind of planets. And Parmuf asks whether the Hirogen will continue to help him and the other Tok'ra. Players: Thomas van Rhee Starbase 441 Ensign Cathy Edgington has graduated from Starfleet Academy. She is transported to Starbase 441 for her first assignement. As Ensign Cathy Edgington reports abaord Starbase 441, she is welcomed by transporter chief Slona Vlodov and security officer Lieutenant Lode Berre. It is Lieutenant Berre who escorts Ensign Edgington to sickbay for a medical check. After that Cathy is assigned to temporary quarters for at least three days. These quarters are not huge, but Cathy doesn't have to share it with anyone. As the days pass, Ensign Edgington is free to explore the starbase, meet some new officers, relax, study, whatever she wants. But the third day she is called to the office of First Officer Captain N'Vak, an older Vulcan officer who handles personnel. Although Captain N'Vak really is a Vulcan he does not sound like one. "Ensign Cathy Edgington. Please have a seat. I am sure you would like an assignment with a lot of adventure, but as most starships are far away in search for new allies for the Federation, I probably have to disappoint you. The next starship which will arrive here at Starbase 441 is the USS Honduras. The Honduras will take at least three months to get here. There is the USS Bombay which will leave in a few hours. Although the crew of the USS Bombay is complete, maybe you can convince Captain Flags that you will fit in his crew. But if you cannot, the USS Bombay will drop you of at Relay Station 91. There is of course the USS Loader, a Starfleet supply freighter, which leaves tomorrow morning, not really on a mission of exploration I must say. Or you can stay here on Starbase 441 for three months until the USS Honduras can pick you up. You will be assigned to security if you stay here. So what do you think?" Ensign Cathy Edgington has decided to stay on Starbase 441. and she motivates her choice. "You may be assigned what seem like unimportant posts. This can be very discouraging to a new Ensign. Many graduates of the academy who have majored in one field or another soon find out that their preconceived ideas are quite different from the real positons in the Federation. As with any field be it in the service of the Ferderation or as a civilian field of endevar, promotion and advancement depend on how well an ensign handles his/her assignments regardless of the adventure factor. An ensign who can handle small jobs in an efficient, dependable manner will find themselves in line for a promotion. If you are looking for a command position down the road, you will need experience in all fields of service of the Federation whether you final destination is a starship or not." Players: Cathy Edgington DS2 RPG General Status Report October 2005 USS Earth Deep in the Beta Quadrant is the USS Earth visiting the Vlodians, a species who have developed traveling faster than light not long ago. Although the Vlodians seem to evolve fast, they could be in danger as six raiders ships are approaching their planet. The USS Earth crew is now in a position in between, but as the Vlodians are not in panic at all Commodore steichen gives her orders. "We must trust the Vlodians and let them handle themselves. We will return somewhat near to NC-05, Vlodian homeworld just in case they require assistance. Contact the Vlodian king and offer any assistance if they decide they are unable to cope with the raiders. Also warn them of the raiders course and ETA if that's not already known." It is one of the Vlodian officers of the King who replies to the communications of USS Earth. "It is very kind of you to be concerned Commodore, but there is no need for that. We are perfectly safe. These raiders come from deep space and we have seen them before in the past. Our gods will protect us. They did so in the past. Our High Priest has already been doing the necessary. May I please ask that you stay at a safe distance. We don't want that our gods will strike at you as well." Just to be sure Commodore Steichen orders the helm to break orbit and gets further away from the Vlodian planet. Apparently the six raider ships approaching are not interested in the USS Earth. At this time a message from the Vlodians to the raiders is intercepted by the USS earth. "... We know you have hostile intentions. We don't want to use violence. But if you come any closer, be warned as the wrath of our gods will be without mercy." It seems the message from the Vlodians doesn't impress the raiders much. But the leader of the raiders does contact the USS Earth. "You there in your fancy ship. Stay out of this. It is all ours. If there is anything left after our raid, you can have it. Stay out of the way or you will regret it." When the raiders approach the planet and start their descent towards the atmosphere, a huge bright white light comes from the planet surface at high speed. While the USS Earth crew is watching in amazement the light striks the six raider ships... They are vaporized... The Vlodians have either powerful gods or powerful technology. Commodore Steichen will just ask them about it, being curious. Maybe there is a simple answer... But she will not insist if they will not tell her anything. But Steichen will try to establish trade relations of some kind with the Vlodians and then move on the next interesting system or phenomena in this region: The Windosta System, very rich in culture, but highly advanced species. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 The USS Mexico is face to face with a smugglers ship called Plakdet. The Captain of that ship, Grinosos has knowledge of the genesis device and it is asumed that these smugglers have several genesis devices aboard. Negotiations have failed. The power of the USS Mexico is shut down by an unknown weapoon of the smughglers. There is nothing else to do than attack the smugglers. Three runabouts fully loaded with quantum torpedoes are launched. In a few seconds the element of surprise takes the runabouts fast and furious to the smugglers ship and before the smugglers can escape the runabouts are already firing their weapons at full force. Only moments later the smugglers ship is destroyed and the runabouts return to the USS Mexico shuttle bay. One of the runabouts has been able to download the complete memory of the computer of the smugglers ship. The smugglers information is very valuable and is spread among the entire fleet. But there is still a lot of info that cannot be processed. Bit by bit the data becomes available. Everything about project genesis is revealed. even some personal logs from Doctor Marcus herself. How did these smugglers get their hands on this. There had to be traitors in Starfleet. There was no other explanation. The technicians and engineers work as fast as they can. Within a few hours Captain Sigrid Johanssonreports to Commodore Van Nieuwenhove with some excellent news. "Commodore, we have a major breakthrough. Apparently some former Starfleet offciers who joined the Maquis before the war with the Dominion, have taken the information about genesis with them or copied it." "But the Maquis were exterminated by the Cardassians and the Jem Ha'dar in the first days of the war." "Yes sir, that is correct, but apparently the info on genesis came into the hands of some civilian criminals who had ties with the Maquis. These criminals call themselves the conspirators. According the data we have retrieved, their main site of operations is on Ernada II. We can be there in three hours. And we know exactly where they are." The conversation is interupted. "Commodore this is the bridge. Another genesis device has been used sir. It has been used on a planet called Schoftha. Schoftha is an uninhabited planet sir. No casualties will be expected." "Schoftha is not far from our current location. The conspirators who launched the device on Schoftha can not be far from there. We can track them easily." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt The USS Thunderbolt, under command of Commodore Mechels, escorted by the USS Recon, under command of Commander Summer are on their way to find more rebels of the empire. With the help of the rescued rebels aboard the USS Thunderbolt this trip has just become a standard routine journey towards coordnitaes closeby. But upon arrivel of the planet called Plumo at the designated coordinates it is clear the empire has arrived at least a week before. The rebel base is completely destroyed and there are no surviors. So the two federation ships head to the next coordinates on the rebel list, but this second rebel base on a planet called Tarnatu has received the same fate as the rebel base on Plumo. But this time the troops of the empire have not left that long ago. There are even dead troopers of the empire left behind. It is like the star destroyers have left in a hurry. Master One does a strange discovery. "Commodore, these troopers of the empire are all clones. It seems the army of the empire consists of clones." Everyone knows what this means. Clones can be produced like machines. This clone army of this empire is almost infinite in numbers. It is probably useless to fight against such an army. The only way to defeat such an army is to strike at the heart of it, the leaders, the emperor himself... But all of this is easier said than done. Cloakes are engaged and the two Federation ships are now on the hunt for an empire ship, maybe even a star destroyer. After three days a damaged star destroyer shows up on sensors. Apparently the empire fleet has left it behind after the attack on Plumo and Tarnatu. It seems that the empire fleet was indeed in a hurry. Slowly the two Federation ships approach the star destroyer. Like predators crawling to their prey... But as they uncloak it seems they have underestimated the commanding officer of the star destroyer. As soon as the two Federation ships are detected he initiates the self destruct system. Aboard the USS Thunderbolt Master One runs to a console and injects it with his assimilation tubes. Seconds pass... The explosion of the star destroyer lights up space in a huge ball of fire. A few seconds later the star destroyer has turned into debris. The commander of the star destroyer has sacrificed his ship and crew, not to fall into the hands of an enemy. On the bridge everyone looks at Master One. Slowly Master One turns around retrackting his tubes. "I have not been able to stop the self destruct of the star destroyer. There was not enough time. But I have data about the movements and wearabouts of the entire empire fleet. Also I have coordinates of a space station where at least 14 generals of the empire fleet and troopers will be present for a meeting. But to my regrets I have not been able to gain information about the emperor himself." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang While the USS Walang has secured planet OP-33, on station Kirie 1 Lieutenant Commander Doctor Lore Vladinski receives word from the USS Walang and the new discovered planet. Through these communications the Gnodes send their greetings to the Kirie. The Kirie are very happy to receive word from their ancient friends the Gnodes and send their greetings as well. The exchanging of greetings are the cause for a visit from the Gnodes to the Kirie 1 station. A Gnode ambassador and his pilot arrive in a fast Gnode ship to maintain permanent contact with the Kirie and to make up for all the millenia of lost contact. The powerful Kirie do not seem to stop talking to the Gnodes. But it is the team of Doctor Vladinski which learns a lot about the two remarkable species. At the same time the USS Walang gets the stories of the Gnodes and Kiries from Station Kirie 1 the starship under command of Captain Hendriks is on route to the Junakoni System. The Jukakonians are rather primitive, but on which level their society is, is yet unknown. The journey takes about nine days and aside of regular routine maintenance several successful battledrills are conducted. Completely ready the USS Walang enters orbit of Junakoni. There are no satelites, no evidence of heavy industry, about fivehundred thousand people living on one continent, and no people on the two other continents. More than three quarters of the planet is covered by see. The continents are rather far apart. The level of sophistication of the inhabitants of Junakoni is about the same level of 12th century humans on Earth. There don't seem to be evil kings or feodality. The people seem to be peaceful in trading. Most of them are farmers, hunters and fishermen but there are also small towns where carpenters, blacksmiths, bakeries, butchers provide their goods to their clients. There does not seem to be a ruler of any kind, or soldiers. It seems that this society does not need law enforcements. The three USS Walang antropologists are just waiting to infiltrate and see this society from closeby, even from within. But some other scientists want to let this society be. They find the danger of being discovered to big. Discovery of people from another world by these indiginous people can change their evolution dramaticly. And that may cannot happen. Study from orbit can provide lots of useful information as well. "Keep Scanning the planet Junakoni from orbit. We will not disturbe this society. Maybe we can visit this planet after we have learned more about their society. This seems very interesting." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 42 16.00 The USS Vertigo, in orbit of Limara II, cannot establish contact with the local population. None of the 30 million people can be found and only plant life is detected. All cities and smaller towns seem to be affected and it is as if the entire Limaran population has vanished. Day 42 17.12 A small away team with First Officer Captain Norma Lang, Chief of Security Lieutenant Commander Matz, doctor Dorm leever and two security officers transport to the planet. Day 42 17.42 The away team has been 30 minutes on the planet in the capital city of Limara II, but there is nothing to be reported. It is as if the population has left in an extreme hurry. There is a possibility that the population of Limara II has gone to the shelter bunkers. These bunkers are located very deep under the surface. But if the Limaran population has gone to these bunkers, it could indicate that there is a danger of an enemy, maybe the away team should get out of there. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg Colonel Crow and his crew of the USS Iceberg suspect there is something strange going on aboard the USS Starshine as the USS Iceberg has to escort the almost tiny USS Starshine, Oberth class, and without any further information from Starfleet Command Colonel Crow has to continue to follow his orders to escort the USS Starshine. But Colonel Crow doesn't want to be left out of things and starts his own investigation. his orders are very specific. "There is something weird going on here. While we are escorting the USS Starshine, we will secretly search the USS Starshine for strange technology, strange life forms, or whatever strange you can find." Atad starts his search, which he can do very carefully and around the clock. atad doesn't need any sleep, nor food. He will be assisted by Major Bell and Lieutenant Burak. The scanning of the USS Starshine is slow work. every room, corridor, station and database have to be scanned. The trick of it all is that the USS Starshine crew does not notice any of the investigations of Atad. But it seems to work without any problems. Although Atad has not found anything yet after 10 percent of the complete scan of the USS Starshine, the good news is that his methode of scanning is not yet detected. As both ships continue traveling Colonel Crow tries to find out where they are going. But Captain Hendry Stokes, in command of the USS Starshine, does not reaveal anything. Stokes does not reveal the destination and nothing about his mission, whatever trick Colonel Crow tries. A full day later Atad has scanned 47 percent of the USS Starshine. There is nothing like anomalies, special devices, or any other computer data found aboard the USS Starshine. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado The USS Cinebow has picked up the away team on D-34, undercommand of Lieutenant Jones. Lieutenant Jones offers Captain T'Gor, in command of the USS Cinebow. "If I can , I'd like stay to stay on the Cinebow." "Very well, may first officer will asign some quarters for, and for the rest of the landing party." But to the surprise of both officers Ensign Woodrow does not seem to be very happy about this. "Some of us would like to go back to D-34 and finish what we started. I am surtain that Leor would be happy to have around and assist eachtother." "Very well, but I'll talk with Leor." "Very well captain, thank you." "Not so fast ensign, I will talk with Leor. And if he agrees, and will not send you alone with. I will add a security team with you." But Lieutenant Jones doesn't seem to want to give up her good officers. "For how long captain." "I will gave them one month, that is all." While Lieutenant Jones is accompanied by USS Cinebow First Officer Lieutenant Commander Kelly Andrews to her new quarters the talks between Captain T'Gor and Leor go very well. Ensign Woodrow and his team depart from the USS Cinebow to study the society on D-34. After she has settled down in her new quarters, Lieutenant Jones is called by Captain T'Gor to brief her on her new assignment. "Lieutenant Jones, I have read your files. Fascinating. You seem to be very resourceful and you can improvise when necessary. Excellent. Yes it is true that on my ship there are not enough scientists. And no competent officer to lead the science department. Therefore You will do that. Congratulations. Finally we have some more sientists aboard this ship. I want to take advantage of that. Now there are three interesting missions we can go to for science research. I want an answer from you within four hours." ----------------------------------------------------------- Aboard the USS Colorado in orbit of Talos 4 the bridge crew have seen that the shuttlecraft carrying Captain Walker and First Officer Commander Sonak has beenn hit by lightning and has exploded as the result of that. On the bridge Lieutenant jeffrey Wayne is in command. "Status!" "Scans show no live forms alive in the shuttle craft." "What about the area around the shuttlecraft." "Nothing Lieutenant. Lieutenant. We are beinging hailed by Ninkaa." "On screen." "This Ninkaa, Lieutenant, where is your Captain and his first officer. They have not yet arrived!" "The shuttlecraft was hit by lightning from the thunderstorm." "Is your captain alright." "No." Now Ninkaa, assistant of Talos IV Prime minister Toal, is getting worried as well. "What about his first officer?" "According to our scans, there are no survivors. I request to beam down a landing party, this within a few minutes." "Request granted commander, you can use the same co-ordinates as before." "Thank you. Colorado out." Time could be important now. Lieutenant Wayne realises that the Captain and the Commander could be wounded. "Bridge to Engineering, what is your staus on that power problem?" "Enigneering here, Torak speaking, we will have minimum transporter power. Probably for one bean down." "Thank you, it will have to do. Doran contact Starfleet command and prepare a landing to be ready within a 10 minutes. You've just become the new chief of security." ----------------------------------------------------------- Somewhere... The voice of Selnak... "Greetings Captain, we don't have much time to waist." "Selnak, meaning what. Are these bodies! Where are we Sonak!" Sonak who is standing next to his Captain lets his Vulcan logic work. "I believe captain that we are in cloacked ship." Selnak confirms. "Yes Captain, they will be beamed onboard the shuttlecraft as they are. And yes captain this is a cloaked ship, and no is not Federation. It's a Klingon freighter with a cloaking device given by the captain of this vessel." Captain Walker is more surprised than Sonak. "You've what!" But Selnak quickly explains. "It is the best thing possible, to be sure that we can not be detected." "In other words!" "We have been on this planet since yesterday captain, preparing." The voice of the captain of the vessel. His name is Captain Prang. "Welcome Captain Walker on board the ship Volarr. Prepare yourselves for take off. We will leave exactly the same time as we will transport the bodies on the shuttlecraft." Captain Walker looks at his First Officer Sonak. "Mr Sonak, something you forget to tell me." "Not really, I knew if I told you about the Klingon you never approve of it." "Your right about that. Selnak beam over the bodies." But before any bodies will be tranported there is one more thing according Sonak. "One moment captain, our com badges." "Good, here is mine." "I am ready." The last word is for Captain Walker. "Prang, we are ready." Prang gives his orders. "Transport the bodies!" "Bodies are gone." As the freighter Volarr reaches orbit of Talos IV, Walker sees the Colorado in orbit wondering how the future of the USS Colorado will look like this with a new captain. The captain's name isn't Tom J. Walker. "Is there a problem captain." "No! No problem Mr Sonak, just memories. What's our status!" "We are about to leave orbit." "Prang what is our destination, and how long before will reach it." "You do not trust me captain, you are in good hands." "Is not a question a of trust, it's a question of time. Time is of the essence, so let's not waist any." Prang indeed realises that time is running... "Alright Captain, we are heading for station 295. We arrive there in three days." But there are more things to be done. Captain Harrison looks to much human... He has to be transformed. Commander Sonak does not have that little problem. "Selnak, how much time do you need for my alteration." "Not much, I will prepare the alteration in two days." Sonak keeps tracking the USS Colorado crew and reports to Captain Walker. "Captain, a landing party has arrived and found the wreckage, what is left of the shuttlecraft." "Thank you. By the way, what name should I use posing as a Vulcan." "I leave that to you captain." "Thank you, what about Sokar." "Well chosen Captain, on Vulcan some time we someone named Sokar. He believed that to every problem there is solution." "Was he correct!" "Yes Captain, a long time before we had the ability to travel in ships one Vulcan had a question which created a problem." "What was the question!" "The question was Captain, is possible to reach stars, and travel to other worlds. Sokar answered in time we all will travel, and seek other life forms not like ourselves. " "It took Vulcans many years to believe what Sokar said. That's how we believed in Logic." It seems that Captain Walker is not only tranformed from the outside, but also a bit in the inside. "Logic dictates, that for every problem there is an answer." Captain Prang interups the Vulcan conversation. "Captain, if you like I can show you your quarters for the duration. And the matter of the compensation for my assistance." "Thank you, I'll see you a ten minutes. And about the compensation, am sure we can come to a agreement." Romulans are suspected to have infiltrated in the Vulcan embassy and Captain Walker is on his way on the Klingon Ship Volarr, under command of Captain Prang, with the Vulcans Selnak, Skola, T'elak, Tarek and his Vulcan First Officer Commander Sonak. The group has little time to prepare. At the same time at Talos IV, Lieutenant Wayne is giving up hope. The Prime Minister of Talos IV has personally ordered extra search parties to look for Captain Walker and Commander Sonak. The shuttlecraft is almost completely destroyed... Admiral Mifuné is informed about the situation. Admiral Mifuné knows more about it than Lieutenant Wayne or anyone else aboard the USS Colorado. But he does not show it. "Lieutenant Wayne. You are now in command of the USS Colorado. I will give you 7 days to search for Captain Walker and Commander Sonak. If you do not find what you are looking for, you will continue to prepare the relations with the people of Talos IV. As soon as the diplomats arrive, you will get new orders. And Lieutenant... Don't give up on your Captain yet. Although I must say that if you have not found him or Commander Sonak within those 7 days... I am afraid that there is nothing much we can do. don't forget to thank the people of Talos IV for helping." The communications end and Lieutenant Wayne sits down in the center seat of the USS Colorado. Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper On Angel One the diplomatic talks between Beatta III of Angel One, Marco Danno, leader of the "Rising Sons", Lina Corona and Ambassador Jas Stevens continue. Ambassador Stevens has not told anyone yet that he knows and can prove the Romulans and Cardassians are helping the "Rising Sons". Maybe on this talks Marco Danno will mention it himself, but it is more important that Beatta and Danno will find some common points and both have to give up some things. It will not be easy as both of them cannot give up anything without losing at least part of their image in front of their people. As Danno and Beatta seem to become more easy on eachother and all accusations have been stopped, it seems for Ambassador Stevens not to intervene, only when absolutely necessary. After having something to eat all of them again sit at the same table and suddenly Ambassador Stevens notices that Beatta III has her hand on the hand of Marco Danno... Ambassador Stevens decides not to mention the information about the Romulans and Cardassians and their possible plans yet. He has plenty of information about the Commonwealth and maybe without mentioning he is not from this universe he can use that information to let the two totally different parties of men and women better understand each other. Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) There is a planet called Gundrota, where the Tok'ra are building a secret base. Jotarn and Horkan will help building this base and help the Tok'ra to build powerful Hirogen weapons to defend that base and the stargate on the planet Gundrota. A good base to fall back to is important especially for the Tok'ra. But first things first. Building a base like this can take a few months, especially the planetary weapons. As Gundrota is not very far from Jektana II, where Horkan and Jotarn left their ship, they decide to send a remote signal through the stargate to Jektana II to send their ship, the Ovion, to Gundrota. Travel time of the Ovion will be around two months. But the two Hirogen Tok'ra aren't going anywhere, so that will not be a problem. While the Ovion is on its way, Jotarn and Horkan are amazed to see that the Tok'ra have some kind of chrystals that build tunnels under ground. With testing even the Hirogen scanners cannot detect these tunnels. Jotarn looks again at his scanner, knowing that he is standing exactly above one of the Tok'ra tunnels, his scanner does not detect anything. "Horkan, this is incredible." The Tok'ra symbionts of Jotarn and Horkan explain to the Hirogen how the Tok'ra technology works. The Tok'ra use a ring system to transport from the surface deep into the ground into their tunnels. The two Hirogen cannot use their own transporters to get into the tunnels, but as they carry a Tok'ra symbiont they are welcome to use the ring system as well. Under the surface there are several rooms build tu put the powerful Hirogen weapons in. Hirogen technology is also used to build shield generators. There are already four hundred Tok'ra who have found their way to Gundrota and slowly the base is growing rapidly. But with so much people the weapons and defensive systems are build faster as well. And with good reason. After almost 8 weeks of hard work, all weaponsystems and shield generators are fully operational, but as if some Goa'uld can smell the threat... The alert is given. The Tok'ra on the base on Gundrota are not ready for an attack yet, but a Goa'uld Ha'tak mothership has arrived in orbit of Gundrota. The two hirogen are not afraid, not even of an army of Jaffa. They just stand in the middle of nowhere on the planet surface. They just seem to be standing there, waiting. But then just as the first gliders are launched from the Ha'tak ship in orbit... The Ovion appears out of nowhere, opens fire, destroys the Ha'tak ship and the few gliders which had been launched. The attack of the Hirogen ship took about seven seconds. While the Ovion lands close to Jotarn and Horkan, the two Hirogen hunters, both of them have a grin on their face. "Horkan. That was a very short but great hunt." Horkan can only agree with his friend Jotarn. Although there were no trophies this time, the hunters became the hunted. It is the Tok'ra Parmuf who comes to thank the two Hirogen. But with the battle won, the war has not yet been ended. Parmuf again asks the Hirogen for their help. "Thank you so much for helping us. We are greatly in your debt, but I am afraid I have to ask you for your help again..." But Horkan has only one answer. "We will Keep defending Gundrota until all weapons and defensive systems of the planet are operational and working 100%." Players: Thomas van Rhee Starbase 441 This particular morning Ensign Edgington reports to Commander Dre Cauwen, Starbase 441 Chief of Security where she gets her duty roster for the entire week. Edgington will lead Team 184. Assigned to her are Chief Petty Officer Duncan Coden and Crewman Lilliane McHold. Regular patrols will be held between 08.00 to 12.00 and from 13.00 to 17.00. Patrols will include the lower decks, cargo bays and main engineering. Chief Coden is a very experienced security officer. While the team 184 is doing the patrol, the Chief gives the Ensign a complete almost touristic tour of this part of the station. He shows her some places where there is a great view on the planet below the Starbase. Crewman McHold is a little nervous as this is her very first patrol as well. She has been transfered from engineering. She is not that brave, but the Starbase counsellor found it better that McHold would serve in security to deal with that little fear she has. But Crewman McHold did not lose the habit to check on her tricorder every three seconds. Especially while in engineering where she thinks a lot can go wrong. While Chief Coden continues to explain to Ensign Edgington how much the power output is of the main generator, Crewman McHold doesn't stop looking at her tricorder as if she is not really interested in what the Chief has to say. A small shock goes through Crewman McHold's body when her tricorder gives a warning. But she manages to get herself together fast. "There is a Romulan in this room." Chief Coden doesn't hesitate a second. The alert sounds. Some of the engineers hurry to the doors, except for one who is standing very close to the main reactor. Ensign Edgington realises what is going on, but it is to late. A very small explosion is heard. Weapons are fired. The engineer is on the floor. "That is the one." Totally overcoming her fear Crewman McHold runs to the engineer on the floor. He is dead. Apparently he killed himself in the blast. But there is a bigger problem. Some of the engineers have returned and warn the security team to get out. Once everyone is out of the section, the massive doors behind them close. One of the engineers reports to Starbase Operations. "Ops, we have established a level 10 forcefield around the reactor. We have initiated a complete shutdown, but there is to much damage. We estimate that the core will destroy the entire starbase in less than 1 hour." Chief of Security Cauwen arrives rather fast escorted by a dozen other security officers. He is informed by Ensign Edgington. Cauwen knows fast decisions have to be made. "Ops, this is Cauwen. Evacuate the Starbase immediately. Transport everyone to the planet. We will be searching for other Romulans." Then he turns to Ensign Edgington. "Ensign, you and your team can leave to the planet as well. I cannot order you to stay. Of course if you want to help with the repairs of the reactor core, I am sure these engineers can use an extra hand, but I don't have to point out the danger of that. Or you can help us search for more Romulans if there are more, we have to find them. Don't take to much time to decide." Ensign Edgington has some thoughts... Just as Chief of Security Cauwen could not order Ensign Edgington to stay she could not order my team to stay. She would give Chief Petty Officer Duncan Coder and Crewmen Lilliane McHold the choice whether to stay and help search for the Romulans if there are any more lurking about. If the teammembers were to decide to leave she would then assist in the repairs of the power core. Players: Cathy Edgington DS2 RPG General Status Report December 2005 USS Earth After the successful defense against pirate raiders, the Vlodians have contact again with the USS Earth. It is the Vlodian King himself who explains that the Vlodians themselves do not know how the gods destroyed their enemies. These gods have been protecting the Vlodian homeworld for millenia. But the king offers a trade agreement, especially for exchange in culture, music, literature, art. The king grants Commodore Steichen to send four of her crew to the planet, but the only things they are allowed to take with them is technology which contains databanks of the Federation history, culture or other non military data. The gods will punish everyone on the Vlodian planet who has interest in military technology. Commodore Steichen finds four volonteers who are transported to the planet in a unarmed shuttlepod. The four USS Earth scientists are given a home where they can live and use for trade office. These four under leadership of Doctor Ludo Ondaren, are honored to spend a part of their live on the Vlodian homeworld and learn as much about the Vlodians as they can. They are allowed to stay in contact with their ship so they can report anything that might be of interest. And then, a few days later it is time for the USS Earth to depart and set course to the Windosta System. It is said the Windostans are very highly advanced, but they are very difficult to approach. After three weeks the USS Earth arrives at the border of the Windosta System. But there are no answers to any communications. Very strange indeed is the fact that there are no planets suitable for humanoid live as Lieutenant Harry Dankers reports. "Commodore, I sensors do not detect any life on any of the six planets. On most of these planets we wouldn't live for a few minutes. I don't see..." Lieutenant Dankers stops talking. In fornt of his eyes, in a bright flash, Commodore Steichen disappeares... A second later Commodore Steichen wakes up in what looks like a very primitve prison, with metal bars, a small bed, sanitation... As far as Steichen can see there are holding cells with a guard at every door. There is absolutely no privacy. Steichen can see the the most part of the cells are occupied by all kind of species. As she tries to figure out who her neighbours are she sees that she still has her commbadge... But steichen takes initiative. She makes contact with the other prisoners to try to find out what happened. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 The USS Mexico is on route to a planet called Schoftha which has been attacked by unknown with a genesis device. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove hopes to pick up the trail of these criminals and end the threat. But upon arrival only the traces of the genesis effect are detected. Captain Johansson has her own idea. "Commodore, maybe they didn't do it as they should and were destroyed in the genesis blast themselves." But Commander Atrio disagrees. "Sir, I don't think that anyone would kill himself in this kind of test or attack." "Maybe something went wrong Commander. Maybe they didn't intend to kill themselves." But then the sensors have picked up some kind of warp trail. It is not from a Federation ship. Commander Atrio is proud to be right and he shows it. "Captain this trace is not cold yet. They left here in a hurry." Commodore Van Nieuwenhove orders to follow the warp trail which leads to an uninhabited planet designated only as MM-4. In orbit there is a small vessel. Apparently the large starship USS Mexico is detected. "Commodore, they are trying to escape." "Get them Captain. Tractor beam ready..." The criminals do not resist and surrender. Only a few minutes later six terrorists are locked up seperately in the USS Mexico brig. Their ship is confiscated and braought aboard in the main shuttlebay. One of the criminals is a former Starfleet officer, Lieutenant Jo Kim, latest reported to be a Maquis... Commodore Van Nieuwenhove gives his orders. "Take them to the starbase and inspect their ship during the travel. Since they got their hands on top secret information, it might be possible they still have allies inside the federation chain of command, better be safe than sorry... and investigate" Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt The USS Thunderbolt and USS Recon have left Federation space to investigate and help some rebel group who is fighting against the emperor and his clone troops. It is unknown where the emperor himself is so there is need for more information. There are only two Federation ships, although heavily upgraded. This clone army is to big. The USS Thunderbolt and USS Recon must use stealth and cloak to get to the emperor, so they can deal with him personally. This would probably end the empire. The only thing is that nobody knows where the emperor is. Main objective is gathering more information by finding and rescuing under cover rebels on different planets. After a few weeks the two Federation ships have found two planets where the entire populations is revolting against the empire. But the star destroyers and emperial troops are already on their way to terminate these rebel activities. Lots of people who manage to get passage on space ships leave their planets in fear. All these rebels have the same story: the emperor suddenly appeared, with a large army and started to take over the entire territory. the soldiers and civilians who tried to stop these emperial troops were simply crushed and completely destroyed. The emperor is described as humanoid. One particular rebel, an older man called Ginoran, has actually seen the emperor when he landed among his troops on Frontada, a planet not far. Ginoran had been able to flee in time with a few others in an old space craft. A mirical he calls it. The emperor was covered in green clothing, black hair and pointy ears. When Ginoran makes a drawing of the emperor, it is almost certain this man is a Romulan or Vulcan. A week later the USS Thunderbolt and USS recon receive broadcasting of speaches of the emperor, who calls himself Hunok. After analysing the voice and the contens of these speaches Master One has a conclusion. "Commodore Mechels. There is a 96.4 percent chance that this Hunok is a Romulan." But that is not enough. The two Federation ships cloak and arrive at Frontada, where emperial troops are indeed occupying the planet. As the Emperor Hunok has been present on this planet there must be some DNA traces of him. As this DNA is most likely Vulcan or Romulan, the Borg drones aboard the USS Thunderbolt have found this DNA rather fast. It is Romulan. The emperor Hunok is a Romulan. It is certain now. To track him down is not that difficult and as the two Federation ships are cloaked they can go anywhere in this region with out being detected. But there is more as Master One reports. "Commodore Mechels, there is something you should know. Lord Two is convinced that this Romulan Hunok has the power to use the force. Although Lord Three still wants to search for more info, I agree with Lord Two. If this Romulan is indeed capable to use the force, there is no doubt that an invasion of the entire galaxy is at hand, including the Federation." "How can there be one Romulan in this part of the galaxy? And are there any more Romulans helping him? What is the official Romulan opinion about all this? What about the Remans? To many questions. More information is needed befor we will act, like Lord Three has suggested..." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang The USS Walang in orbit of a planet called Junakoni is not seen by the rather primitive people of the planet. From orbit scans are conducted and in great detail one of the small cities is studied by the USS Walang scientists. After almost a week the universal translator has managed to translate the language of the Junakoni. conversations about sport events, trades, political events are analysed. While the scientists have their hands full with all kinds of related events on Junakoni, the USS Walang engineers have the chance to upgrade the ships systems and adjust all sensor arrays. As the weeks pass, some of the crew are following the events on Junakoni as they are following a soap story. Bets are placed whether a local town leader can stay on his seat with the upcoming election, some crewmembers are becoming fans of local sportsclubs and after a full month almost the entire crew is busy following the "Adventures on Junakoni", the trading between different cities, the agriculture, but especially the sport events. It is like the cerew is starting to live with the people of the Junakoni. When some of the engineers make holographic programs for the holodeck, simmulating the society of the Junakoni, in a few hours there is already a long waiting list for the crewmembers to attend in the holodecks to experience themselves, what it is like to be an almost real Junakoni. The peaceful society of the Junakoni seems to be very attractive. But then suddenly Chief of Operations John Strauss has a surprising report. "Captain, apparently we have overlooked some of the things on Junakoni. We were all so busy to follow what the people on that planet were doing, that we seem to have forgotten to look at their technological evolution. For example how these people make wheels, pumps, aquaducts, roads, and so on. We have discovered that they build a lot of things, even parts of their houses with a certain metal. We have scanned this metal, and strangely enough it is a metal we do not know. We have tried to transport it aboard with our transporters, but the transporters cannot transport the metal abaord as the system does not recognise the metal. If we want to get a piece of it we can only go to the planet with a shuttlecraft and go to a deserted area to dig up some of that metal. This metal can be changed in form, put together at high temperature, but the molecule of this metal seems to be indestructable. This could be the scientific finding of the century..." "Although this metal is indeed very interesting, leave it. It is only for the people of Junakoni. Continue with our observation. Maybe we will discover more about this metal. There is not really a fast evolution to be expected on Junakoni. We will leave the planet alone after our scans are completed and come back in a few decades to see how they have evolved. We will start exploring the following stars in the region. Maybe more interesting things will happen there." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 42 18.01 Limara II, the entire population of 30 million has disappeared, but it is suspected that the population has gone to the huge underground bunkers below the cities. First Officer Captain Norma Lang, Chief of Security Lieutenant Commander Matz and Doctor Dorm Lever decent into the tubes leading to the bunkers... Day 42 18.26 The USS Vertigo away team enters the first room of a bunker 600 meters below the planet surface. At least five hundred Limarans are sitting together in the room. They explain that the entire planet will be hit by a huge storm. Day 42 18.31 After contact with the USS Vertigo it is clear that from orbit the scientists abaord the starship indeed confirm that there is a planet scale storm starting. But the USS Vertigo cannot evacuate 30 million people. So the away team and the Limarans have to stay in the bunkers until the storm has ended. The USS Vertigo will monitor the storms and keep the away team up to date. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The USS Iceberg is escorting the USS Starshine, not knowing what the mission is of the USS Starshine, not knowing where they are going, but Colonel Crow, in command of the USS Iceberg has ordered his officers to scan the USS Starshine to find anything unusual. Atad, who conducts the scanning, is very careful not to be detected by the USS Starshine crew, but after a scan of 68 percent still nothing has been found. There are no alien life forms, no unknown alien devices or anything like that detected. Time seems to become an important factor. Major Bell, this time at the helm, reports that the two ships are approaching the border of Federation space. This is not really unexpected, but it could indicate this mission will not be as long as thought. Atad has scanned the entire USS Starshine, except for the bridge. "Be careful Atad. Bridges of starships are very sensitive..." "I am aware of that Major Bell. I will continue the scan with caution. It will take about three hours." Major Bell, who just came out of bed, is very alert as he watches the first results come in from the scanning of the USS Starshine bridge. But as minutes pass by, nothing unusual is found. Towards noon, the bridge is scanned and just as Major Bell wants to report to Colonel Crow that the USS Starshine is as clean as a... "Hold on Major. We still have the Captain's ready room. It will only take ten minutes." "OK I can wait that long." But Major Bell is not convinced they will find something and already calls Colonel Crow to the bridge to present his final report. Major Bell is wrong. "Major, I think I have found something here. It is a device of somekind. Some kind of power generator, very small, it is Romulan Major." Just as Atad reports, Colonel Crow enters the bridge, just in time to hear what Atad had to say. "Are you sure about this Atad ?" "Yes Colonel. Absolutely sure." "But we are not on course to Romulan space. On the contrary. We are on a course away from Romulan space." Atad already knows. He cannot explain why there is a Romulan power generator, big enough to heat up a kettle of water. It is nothing dangerous, and if this was about any alien device, there would probably not be a problem, but as the device is clearly Romulan, it makes Captain Hendry Stokes in command of the USS Starshine, look more than a bit strange, not to use the word suspicion. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado/USS Cinebow Romulans are suspected to have infiltrated in the Vulcan embassy and Captain Walker is on his way on the Klingon Ship Volarr, under command of Captain Prang, with the Vulcans Selnak, Skola, T'elak, Tarek and his Vulcan First Officer Commander Sonak. The group has little time to prepare. But that is of no concern of Lieutenant Ally Jones now aboard the USS Cinebow, as Chief Scientist. And already she makes herself useful. "Captain I've have been studying the information on star G-09." "Is there a reason why you have chosen G-09?" "Yes all four planets are M class, and yet only two have life on then." "Very well Lt. Star G-09 it will be. Bridge this is the captain, make course for Star G-09." Security Chief Lieutenant Nethor Danto on the bridge executes the order. "Lt. Nethor here sir, course is set for the Star." "Thank you Lt. When will we arrive?" "ETA two and a half weeks captain." First Officer Lieutenant Commander Kelly Andrews explains. "Captain, the reason for the two and a half is we're rendezvouing with the El Paso with new crewman. This in five days." "Thank you commander, that will give us more time to know our new officer Jones." Five days later the USS Cinebow meets the USS El Paso, under command of William "The Kid" Bonney, youngest Starfleet Captain ever, but famous already for his bravery and daring actions during several battles. New crewmembers are transfered, including a young Ensign, exobiologist, Ensign Hugo Sheridan. Now that the science department on the USS Cinebow is expanding Lieutenant Jones can start organising the expeditions to the planets of G-09. Captain T'Gor is very pleased with the new scientists. When the USS Cinebow arrives at G-09, the scientists are ready for anything. There are four M class planets, G-09 Alpha which is not inhabited, G-09 Beta which is not inhabited, G-09 Gamma and G-09 Epsilon which are inhabited. But both populated planets do not have the ability of space flight and only have contact with primitive radio wave equipment. Vulcan Captain T'Gor finds it logical to visit the planets in sequence. So planet G-09 Alpha is first on the list. Without making first contact with the populations of G-09 Gamma and G-09 Epsilon the USS Cinebow enters orbit of G-09 Alpha. After a short scan of the planet it is already clear this planet was once inhabited. There are structures like ruins, but the ruins indicate that there were once big cities and the population who lived on G-09 Alpha was highly advanced. There are traces in several larger cities of what could have been a space port. So this species probably knew how to travel in space. But it is not certain. It could well be that these structures were something religious... Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper On Angel One the negotiations are taking a turn. Beatta III of Angel One and Marco Danno, leader of the "Rising Sons" the male resistance group against the matriarch and fighting for equal rights for man, seem to get a little closer. Whether it is the long talk or the short break, one thing is sure: both leaders want the violence to stop. Ambassador Stevens, who still acts as mediator offers some ideas as well. Using words like "history" and "herstory" makes it clear that women and men are indeed different. As both have genders their views on life, Beatta and Marco have to find similarities. Not only to restore the peace, but for both leaders to come to peace without losing their name and fame. That last part is probably the biggest challenge for both altough more for Marco Danno. He has to convince his men to stop the fighting. That won't be easy. And there is a secondairy problem, as the Romulans and the Cardassians are not going to like that at all. But Marco Danno has no idea that Ambassador Stevens knows about the Cardassians and Romulans who are supporting the "Rising Sons". If Danno really wants peace and a new start for all people of Angel One he has to ask Beatta for help. Beatta will take care of the rights of men. Maybe there will be some form of discrimination at first, but as time will pass, more and more men and women on Angel One have to realise that there should not be a difference. Although Beatta is not willing to give up her throne, but the first steps are taken. After 26 hours of negotiation dead tired both leaders step out of the building and to their amazement a huge crowd of men and women have gathered before the entrance. They are just standing there, apparently waiting for the results of the negotiations. Peace is at hand... Marco Danno and Beatta III show that both of them are great leaders and explain to the crowd that there now has to be peace. A little behind the crowd are two men, just standing. When marco Danno has finished with his speach, one gives the other a signal. The other walks away from the square into one of the small dark streets... It is obvious there will be a large disscussion on the square between men and women, but the first step is set. No more destruction, no more war. Ambassador Stevens is observing the crowd and can only hope the discussion does not cnage into a war. Suddenly the commbadge of Ambassador Stevens makes a little sound. It is only the Ambassador who hears the sound. The discussions are loud. Stevens enters the building and asures himself that he is alone. Then he makes contact. "Ambassador Stevens. This is Captain Kalee. We have been following your progress. Well done indeed. But we have a problem. An uncloaked Romulan ship is approaching Angel One. The ship will be here in less than 8 hours, traveling at high warp. In principle I should engage the Romulans. Shoot first, ask questions later... But seen the changed circomstances on Angel One, I would like to hear from you first what I should do. The USS Canada and USS Greenland can be here within 12 hours. What do you think?" Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) Gundrota a Tok'ra planet, heavily defended with Tok'ra and Hirogen technology has become a concern of the Goa'uld system lords. As they start communicate with each other about the threat on Gundrota and the alien warriors who are helping the Tok'ra it soon becomes clear that the system lords do not agree on how to handle this situation. Until one of them named Karnok, has a plan. He will infiltrate on Gundrota pretending he is a Tok'ra. But on Gundrota the Tok'ra are not stupid. They realise that the Goa'uld will use any means to infiltrate and destroy the base on Gundrota. After the destruction of the Goa'uld Ha'tak ship the Tok'ra have shown that they can defend themselves. Jotarn is curious about the symbionts and what the difference is between the Tok'ra and the Goa'uld as both are creatures who seem to be from the same kind of origin. But Jotarn's symbiont explains that the evilness of the Goa'uld is mainly due to the use of a sarcophagus, which heals and even brings living creaures back to life. Although this sarcophagus seems a wonderous instrument, there is a big problem with it. The sarcophagus takes the good of the creature. The creature who uses the sarcophagus becomes evil. The Tok'ra do not use the sarcophagus. If the life of their host is ending the Tok'ra try to find a new volonteer as host. They will never force somebody to become host. If the Tok'ra does not find a new host, they will give their lives rather than force somebody to become host. The difference in use of the sarcophagus and way of life can be detected with Hirogen technology. This technology is a great advantage for the Tok'ra. In the past they had difficulty to find Goa'uld spies who had infiltrated the Tok'ra. Two weeks later when a new group of six Tok'ra arrives on Gundrota through the stargate, Jotarn's scanner immediately recognises one of them as a Goa'uld. It is the Goa'uld spy Karnok who has no idea that he has been detected already. Jotarn informs Horkan and Parmuf about the Goa'uld... Nothing is done about it. Just to prevent that Karnok knows he is discovered. It is not certain what the Tok'ra council will do about this Goa'uld. Even the Tok'ra symbionts of the two Hirogen do not agree. Horkan's symbiont Tar wants the Goa'uld dead immediately but Jotarn's symbiont Verti wants to use this Goa'uld to let him send false information to the Goa'uld system lords... Players: Thomas van Rhee Starbase 441 Starbase 441 is at red alert. The evacuation of over three thousand people to the planet below has started. The main power core probably has less than one hour before it will explode. 24 volonteer engineers enter the section and start repairs immediately, even if it was only to gain some time for the evacuation. But not only the engineers have problems. All security volonteers start sweaping the starbase in search for Romulans. It was a Romulan agent who sabotaged the power core of the starbase. There could be more... With Chief Coden at point security team 184 starts sweaping their assigned section. They all know there is not much time. But all information they can get from possible Romulans still abaord the station could lead to a much more effecient defense against these kind of Romulan actions. Chief Coden and Crewman McHold have decided to stay on the station and do their duty. Both of them didn't want to run away from things when danger is immenent. Part of the internal sensors is off line. A room to room sweap is absolutely necessary. But when team 184 has finnished their sweap, they did not en,counter any damage to the station or any Romulans. The few people who are met, are those who are picking up their last personal things and are ready to evacuate. With the excellent work of the engineers in engineering some time has been gained. All security sweaps have been completed. Six other Romulans have been captured and three are killed. It is a big question of how these Romulans could get aboard a Federation station undetected. The Romulans are also evacuated to the planet and locked up there for interrogation. When team 184 enters engineering to see whether they can help with anything most of the security teams have already evacuated the starbase. Engineering looks like chaos. There have been at least three major accidents in which several engineers have fallen, including Chief Engineer Commander Leckholder. One of the engineers calls Ensign Edgington. It is then when even the brave experienced Chief Coden realises how brave these fallen engineers have been, and how they managed to keep the core from exploding all this time to gain as much time they could to let everyone evacuate. But the engineer addressing Ensign Edgington has no time for casual conversation... And while he keeps pushing buttons... "Finally an officer. Ensign, you are the only officer here. Our officers are all dead. There are only 9 of us left. There is little time. It is a matter of minutes now. But we are almost there. I cannot spare any of our engineers. They have to stay at their stations. One of you should go below to Deck 14, section 8 to shut down all the valves manually. That would save us all..." Ensign Edgington knows what is at stake, but before the engineer can finnish and before Ensign Edgington can say anything, Chief Coden volonteers. "Just tell me exactly what to do. I will go." But the engineer gives a warning. "That is very brave of you chief. But consider this. The radiation in that section is very high. I am sure you will make it back, but the effect of the radiation might kill you within a few weeks..." Players: Cathy Edgington
