DS2 RPG General Status Report January 2008 USS Earth Commodore Steichen brings the First One to Romulus to deal with the Shadows. It is not certain the Shadows will listen to the First One. but there is little choice to prevent a large scale war. It doesn't take long before the USS Earth enters Romulan space. Most of the crew have gone to rest during the voyage to gain strength for what is to come. Everyone aboard knows that the Federation fleet is at the break of a huge battle with the Klingon fleet against the Shadows and the Romulans. It is expected nobody can win such a battle... "Red Alert! Battlestations!" In one moment the USS Earth comes to live. All corridors are filled with crewmembers running to their stations. On the bridge is First Officer Commander T'Lok who's Vulcan logic has decided it was time to wake up the crew because there were 16 Shadow ships on an intercept course. But when Commodore Steichen enters the bridge with The First One, the Shadow ships change course. Commander T'Lok satys calm. "Commodore, First One, The Shadow threat seems to move away from us. I think we have First One to thank for that." But First One does not have anything to do with it. "I did not have the chance to talk to my children yet." Chief of Security Lieutenant Commander Ulo Hung has a new heading of the Shadow ships. "Commodore. they are heading towards Romulus. Wait a minute. The Romulans Commodore, the Romulans are attacking the Shadows ships in orbit of Romulus." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 The 369th fleet is under heavy attack by 20 Shadow battleships. But Commodore Van Nieuwenhove refuses to retreat. Attack is the best defence. With the new weapons 12 of the Shadow battleships are destroyed in one attack, but the battle is not over yet. Two ships of the 369th fleet are destroyed before Commodore Van Nieuwenhove can launche another offensive. But in the upcoming attack pattern Geert 3, the remaining Shadow ships are destroyed. These new weapons are indeed incredible effective. But just as the 369th fleet has regrouped, another rift opens. Shadow ships enter regular space, more and more as Tactical Chief Commander Carlo Demaggio reports. "Sir there are 24 now, 30, it looks like a huge swarm sir, 72, 89, and they are coming fast, 104, 112, They seem to keep coming sir. If they want to intercept us they will be here in 14 minutes. 134, 151, Sir I suggest we retreat. We can destroy some of them, but certainly not all of them. 205, 218, sir they don't seem to come in our direction. 241, 257, they are going... to Romulus sir." "Pursuit course. Keep us on a save distance." The 369th fleet is in pursuit of a Shadow fleet of over 260 ships on route to Romulus. And then there is a new report from Commander Carlo Demaggio. "Sir long range sensors detect Romulan ships engaging the Shadow ships sir. The Romulans seem to uncloak take a few shots and cloak again, but they are attacking the Shadow ships sir. It seems the Romulans changed sides sir." "We will help the Romulans and I will advice Starfleet Command and the Klingon High Council now is the time to attack with everything they got." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt The USS Thunderbolt has traveled back in time with the USS Recon and a Borg fleet to find out where the Shadows came from and how to destroy them. Master One is sent to Romulus to take action. Assimilating a Romulan senator did not help. Next on the list is a certain Mister Morden. Commodore Mechels orders are very specific. "Assimilate this Mister Morden." Master Borg doesn't need much time to locate Mister Morden when he seems to be alone. But three shadow creatures who are the actual bodyguards of Mister Morden appear. They attack Master One immediately. But it is to late. The nanoprobes in Master One's bloodstream have already activated several forcefields around Master One and the Shadow creatures only hurt themselves. At the same moment the lightsaber of Master One cuts the Shadow creatures to pieces. Mister Morden himself is horrified. Then the assimilating tubes touch his skin and nanoprobes are injected. A moment later Mister orden is Borg. But he doesn't seem to know anything at first. Apparently the Shadows have build in some kind of safeties into Mister Morden's genetic code. But the nanoprobes make the necessary adjustments. Mister Morden is now a Borg drone. Not soon after that Mister Morden gives the coordinates where the rift is where the Shadows are coming into this universe. But he also has something interesting to tell. The Shadows picked the Romulans as target because they are the most hated in this galaxy and easy to manipulate. The purpose of the Shadows is to eliminate the weak species and let the only strong one survive. The Shadows call this evolution. Commodore Mechels gives his orders. "This is a Romulan problem. They are the target. We will go back to the future and have a look what our actions have done in our own time." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang The USS Walang is in the Scaton Nebula about 20000 lightyears away from the Federation. First Officer of the USS Walang, Commander Bellafonte is in Trsterts space making new friends, sharing art and culture with a small team using a runabout. Telepathic Lieutenant Sharon Vlui has received a small part of Kosh just before he left, to keep defences against Shadows if they ever would show up in these parts of the galaxy. The war against the Romulans and Shadows has a strange twist. Suddenly the Romulans who were on the Shadows side, start attacking the Shadows. Even more strange is that the Trsterts know why the Romulans suddenly fight their former allies. "Simple it is really. Someone has traveled through time, to the past and changed the past, just a little, just enough to have the Romulans take another side. The Shadows are evil." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 84 14.14 The USS Vertigo has joined the 17th fleet. Commodore Slater himself is in command now of the 17th fleet and the USS Vertigo is the flagship of the 17th fleet. Day 84 20.51 Thanks to the good coöperation between Lieutenant Commander Matz and the Klingons the 17th fleet is moving towards the Klingon fleet. Day 85 07.26 The USS Iceberg has arrived accompanied by a Borg sphere. When it is clear the Borg Sphere under command of Captain Shean McGuire, has no trouble destroying Romulan or Shadow ships. The Borg ship is sent to Romulus to recon or battle. But when the ship is half way the Romulans suddenly start attacking the Shadow ships. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The USS Iceberg is waiting for orders. A battle with the Romulans and Shadow fleet will start very soon... General Crow has Atad open a channel: "Advice General Fujimori to attack now. With the Borg Sphere at our side, we have an extreme advantage. Now is the time to engage the fight before they understand what happened to them." "General Crow. We will wait for the Ferengi fleet and then we will attack. But it seems this Borg Sphere under command of Captain Shean McGuire has an advantage. I will send him on a recon mission to scout how strong the Shadow fleet really is. We will have to know how many ships there are exactly." The Borg sphere receives the orders and sets course towards Romulus and the Shadow and Romulan fleet. At the same time messages come in from other Starfleet vessels that telepaths can use their telepathic abilities to disturbe the Shadows and maybe even kill them. Lieutenant Colonel Hawk has already made a list of all Betazoid telepaths aboard. There are 17 of them, one more powerful than the other. Hawk has called them together in the conference room. They wait for orders. But then something strange happens as Atad reports. "General sir, this is weird sir. The Romulans sir, they seem to attack the Shadow ships." Everyone looks at the main viewer. The Borg sphere is not even half way to Romulus yet. The Romulans are attacking the Shadow ships and even destroying a few. They decloak, fire a few shots and cloak again. The Shadows are extremely surprised. But a minute later they must realise what happens and they start returning fire on the Romulans. General Crow Personal log. "We'll still fight both of them, that's my advice to the General. I think that the Romulans think that by joining the winning side they will escape the wrath of the fleet. But will see what the General has to say." Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado/USS Cinebow The USS Colorado and USS Cinebow are patroling the region side by side. They are close enough to see the Romulan and Shadow fleets at Romulus. Tension is rising. The message comes in that a large Ferengi fleet has been to help the Klingons and the Federation. Then this will be the strangest fleet ever in the Alpha Quadrant. Klingons, Federation and Ferengi. All that is missing are the Borg... "Captain we detect a Borg sphere sir." Captain Walker aboard the USS Colorado is more than a bit surprised. "On screen." Aboard the USS Cinebow the same image is received. It is a Borg sphere accompanied by the Starfleet Marine ship USS Iceberg, under command of General Crow. The Borg sphere is under command of Captain Shean McGuire and is on the side of the Federation. Apparently the Borg sphere has no trouble fighting against the Shadow or the Romulans. Starfleet Command decides to send Captain Shean McGuire and his Borg sphere to Romulus to scout the Shadow and Romulan fleet. If the Borg sphere is attacked by any of those, Captain Shean McGuire may defend himself with all possible means. While the Borg ship is closing in on the Romulan and Shadow fleet at Romulus and is almost halfway, something strange happens. "Captain Walker. The Romulans sir. They are attacking the Shadows. Wow, they even destroyed a few of them already." More amazement on the bridge of the Colorado and the USS Cinebow. The Romulan fleet is attacking the Shadow ships. Nobody can explain this... Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper Ambassador Jas Stevens is still missing aboard the USS Alice Cooper-B. As the search continues chances are getting smaller the Ambassador is still aboard. After several hours Captain Kalee decides to scan the planet Angel One below. He is even planning to send away teams to the planet, but he is not yet to the point to contact leader of Angel One, Beatte III... At the same time Ambassador Stevens has explored the room he is in. He doesn't recognise anything. Just when he wants to try opening the door, the door opens and a human female steps in, holding a plate. "I thought you would be hungry." Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) 245 Hirogen ships have just destroyed a Shadow fleet and are now on their way to Romulus on the hunt for more prey. While a large fleet of Federation, Klingons and now also Ferengi are preparing for battle against the Romulan and Shadow fleets, the Hirogen are on their way to Romulus. At the time the romualns suddenly attack the Shadow ships nearby Romulus, the HIrogen are also surprised, but the Romulans apparently think that the Hirogen are coming for them. While the Hirogen fleet is still two weeks away from Romulus, a small Romulan fleet decloaks just behind the Hirogen fleet and opens fire. It is not clear, but it is asumed that the Romulans have attacked the Hirogens because they didn't recognize the Hirogen ships and they might have thought the Hirogens were associated with the Shadows. Alpha Hirogen Donar gives his orders. The Romulans have underestimated the Hirogen who return fire. The battle takes only 30 minutes. None of the Hirogen ships is destroyed and the fleet can continue on its way. Players: Thomas van Rhee Earth Alliance Starship (EAS) Terradyne ::On board the EAS Terradyne:: Draan looks at ADM Joost and motions him over to read the PADD he just handed him. "Marshal, Jump Point forming in Sector 3. It is the Zeus." Draan moves to his chair on the Command Deck, and presses a few buttons. "Landing Bay, once the Zeus is on board close and secure main doors." "Aye, sir" came over the speaker on the command chair. "Conn, once the bay doors are closed open a Jump Point, and accelerate to maximum burn. We are heading home." "Course plotted and laid in. Sir, what about the Klingons and Starfleet? They will need our help." Draan quickly turns to the Navator, glares at him and says in a very disturbed voice, " Commander, do not question my orders. Starfleet and the Klingon Empire can handle this with out us." "My apologies, sir." "Message from the Zeus, only 2 words. Code 3. Sir, what does Code 3 mean?" "Nothing to be concerned about" Just as things calm down, Every alert Klaxon sounds and the white lights turn red. "Shadow Crabs appearing, I read 5....no 7. shouts the Science Officer" "Activate Defense Grid! Launch Peacekeeper and Thunderbolt Starfurys,?all Victory, White Star, and Omega Class Ships.?Conn, set course 125 x 73 x 184, and engage at one half speed." "Aye sir." "Comms, open Jump Point and send signal 47." "Sending now." Just a few seconds after the signal was sent 4 Jump Points form. "Marshal, I read 4 Jump Points forming all around us." "Can you identify the ships and how many?" "Coming in now, 3 Vorlon Battle Cruisers, and I am not sure but it looks like 2 First Ones signatures, and I do not believe it..... confirming a Vorlon Planet Killer. All charging weapons." As the newcomers join the battle, it ends almost as quickly as it had started. "Stand down battle stations, and head for home." said Draan. After all of the Earth Force ships had docked with the Command ship, a single Jump Point formed. First the Terradyne, then the Vorlon Battle Cruisers, followed by the Planet Killer and finally the First Ones. "Science station, initiate Shadow scan and report all contacts and locations." "Starting scan now." said Commander McCkay. "Marshal, scan complete. Scan is negative. All sections are clear." "Thanks, McCkay.? Commander Remmington, I apologize for snapping earlier, but it was all part of the plan. Joost, will you show Remmington the PADD. Remmington, read only and do not say one word about this." As the Conn Officer read the PADD his eyes widened and he started to chuckle and nodded at the Veteran Earth Force Commanding Officer. While FMAR Draan Marr sets his plan in motion something strange happens at Romulus. The Romulans start attacking the Shadows. It seems they have suddenly changed sides. But the Vorlons have some kind of explanation. "Times have changed..." Players: Steve Elliot DS2 RPG General Status Report February 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------- Unknown to the Federation and Klingon forces is that Commodore Mechels and his Borg have traveled to the past to change history. With a minor change the Romulans are no longer the friends of the Shadows but their enemy. That is the reason why the Romulans suddenly attack the Shadows at Romulus. The Federation, Klingon and Ferengi forces are on their way to Romulus. Some have already attacked some Shadow ships on their way. Ships are lost, but some of the Shadow ships are destroyed. 8 hours later the road to Romulus is free of obstacles. The Romulans themselves are still fighting the Shadows, but they are losing that battle. -------------------------------------------------------------- On the main viewer appears Admiral Gert Samson commander of all Federation forces. "Attention fleet. Attack and fire at will on the Shadow ships. The Romulans are now our ally. Do not fire on the Romulans. The Shadows have to be destroyed. It is now or never. Those are your orders. Good luck to us all." The transmission ends. And so the battle begins... -------------------------------------------------------------- USS Earth The USS Earth has arrived at the main Federation fleet where the First One attempts to talk to his children, the Shadows. Although Starfleet Command doesn't trust the First One, there is little to be lost by letting him talk to the Shadows. There is still hope to settle this conflict peacefully. But the First One is not entirely successful. He is only able to convince part of the Shadows to stop this aggression and return home... Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 The 369th fleet under command of Commodore Geert Van Nieuwenhove is one of the first to attack the shadow ships nearby. It is still unclear why the Romulans have changed sides and why they are attacking the Shadows. But everyone realises this is not the time for hesitation. The time to act is now. And the ships of the 369th fleet destroy some Shadow ships with their new weapons. But the Shadows return fire and one by one the 369th fleet is losing ships. The USS Vertigo is hit one time, but the ship survives the battle. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg Players: Jan Theys The Borg sphere under command of Captain Shean McGuire destroys one Shadow ship after another without taking any damage. USS Colorado/USS Cinebow Aboard the Colorado Captain Walker wants action. "Mr Sonak what do we know about the Shadows weaknesses?" "Nothing captain, except that the Ferengi and the Klingons are firing at the same point." "Thank you. Is that a point of weakness?" Tactica Chief Wayne looks at his display. "I beleave so captain, it appear to ber some sort of an exhaust hatch. Not large but it is not shielded." "Thank you." Chief of Operations Lieutenant Doran has found the exact spot. "I have the co-ordinates captain." "Good. Lt. Wayne fire at will, quatum toperdoes maximun power." While the USS Colorado attacks a nearby Shadow vessel XO Commander Sonak has a new report. "Captain the fleet is ariving." "Captain we are being hailed." "On screen." On the main vieuwer appears Admiral Gert Samson commander of all Federation forces. "Attention fleet. The information is also sent to the USS Colorado. "Danto fire at the those co-ordinates." Lieutenant Jones is coordinating the attack with the USS Colorado. "The colorado is firing at the exactly same co-ordinates." Chief of Operations Lieutenant Ipsus Luda reports an incoming message. "Captain we receive a message." "On screen." The Shadow ships are returning fire, but the shields of the mighty hunter Hirogens hold. Players: Thomas van Rhee Earth Alliance Starship (EAS) Terradyne The EAS Terradyne and the fleet of FMAR Draan Marr is heading home where there is more need for them. Players: Steve Elliot -------------------------------------------------------------- The battle goes well against all odds. One quarter of the Shadow fleet takes a run for it, opens a rift and disappears. This is because the USS Earth has returned with a First One aboard who has been able to convince part of the Shadows to stop fighting. But also the Klingons, who coordinate their attacks with the Federation through Klingon liaison Lieutenant Commander Matz, show that they are brave warriors indeed. The Borg sphere under command of Captain Shean McGuire destroys one Shadow ship after another without taking any damage. The new weapons of the 369th fleet under command of Commodore Geert Van Nieuwenhove are very effective, but the 369th fleet is losing ships. The Shadows have weapons too. When the Starfleet marines have found a way to attack the Shadow ships in great numbers, it still seems the Shadows gain more and more advantage in numbers. Their weapons are superior. Even the Ferengi use the battleground to make profit and destroy Shadow ships. War is good for business. But there are so many Shadow ships and all fleets take heavy losses. After a few hours it seems this battle was not as easy as it looked at first. And then just when the Shadows have been able to get back at their enemies, without any indication or detection a huge Hirogen fleet jumps out of warp and starts firing on the Shadow ships destroying them, first one by one and then more and more. The Shadow ships are returning fire, but the shields of the mighty hunter Hirogens hold. With the newcomers and the Borg sphere attacks, the odds change fast. The Shadows who cannot escape are destroyed. An hour after the arrival of the Hirogens, all remaining Shadow ships are destroyed. The battle and the war is over. The First One aboard the USS Earth confirms that the Shadows will not return. This was just in time for the Romulans. All what is left of their large fleet is about fifty ships. Even the Klingons find that the Romulans have fought with honor. It is decided the Romulans will not be punished. They have suffered enough. The Federation, Klingon and Ferengi fleets leave Romulan space and return to their homes. Before anyone can ask the Hirogens any questions, the Hirogens are jumping to warp and disappear. Brontrordens Ambassador Yt has been invited by the Federation to become an official ambassador. Yt has accepted. He thanks Commodore Steichen and is hopeful for the future. But the war against the Shadows has created lots of problems. Communication relaystations have been destroyed and the first job of Federation starships is to visit the planets in the Federation with which contact has been lost during the war. When Commodore Steichen asks Starfleet Command for new orders, Admiral Gnosk looks at his list of priorities. "Christine. Thanks for the help. You had a major part in the final battle. But there is a lot on my list here. Let's see... We haven't heard from the Betazed colony on Fritrona the longest. The Fritrona colony is rather small and I don't think they have made it, but sombody has to go out there and find out. We do not know what happened to the colony on Fritrona. Even the Betazed home planet has not heard from their colony... Wait... This is maybe more important. The Klingons have asked to bring a new Ambassador for the Federation. Ambassador Manchester and a team of five are waiting for transport. I must say, I don't know why the Klingons have asked for a Federation ambassador as they already have an ambassador in the Federation council. But we have been fighting side by side only a few days ago, so the Federation Council does not refuse this request. You can pick up the Federation ambassador and his team at Starbase 468... And there is something else here. It can wait and we have put it on hold for some time, but as you are close to the Badlands, I'll give you the option to go there. Starfleet intelligence has received a vague rumor that there is still one planet in the Badlands where Maquis are still living, not knowing the situation between the Federation, Cardassia and the rest of the universe has changed a lot. Maybe you can try to find this planet and inform these people they have nothing to fear anymore. Those people are the last of the Maquis. Please remember Christine, it is possible you will not be invited for thee by these Maquis. You have to gain their trust." Admiral Gnosk gives a few other places for the USS Earth to go. He lets Commodore Steichen pick one of them to do first. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 The battle has been won. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove assembles his fleet and gets back to Starbase 369 to plan his next mission. For most personnel it is good to be back home or at least in the neighbourhood of their huge starbase. The 369th fleet only has 7 ships left. Starfleet Command cannot deliver more ships as the Federation fleet has lost many ships as well in the war with the Shadows. While the 369th fleet is doing the last repairs most of them are on a patrol route again. It is not expected to see another Shadow ship, but the first days of the return should be taken as safety and regrouping. Commodore Geert Van Nieuwenhove is back in his office reading the status reports on his ships. Only the freighter USS Carry has no damage, but the ship has not left Starbase 369. The USS Carry has no serious weapons anyway, so it would not have a chance in a battle. In the following days the first merchant ships arrive with new supplies and spare parts. As Starfleet does not have enough ships, civilians have taken the opportunity to make some profit by working for Starfleet. Late at night there is one smaller civilian freighter which has arrived and only has one pilot. The pilot seems to be sick and is taken to sickbay. But before the sick pilot gets to sickbay he falls down on the floor. His body is shaking. A moment later there is nothing the doctors can do for the man... A hour later Chief Medical Officer Doctor Commander Enrico Jaladano has a report. "...and because he was not transported aboard with a transporter he could enter with a sisease in his body. We have tracked his flightplan. His last stop was at Tordosa II, 22 days ago. I have contacted the Federation facility and they don't know about any disease or illness. The stop after that was a small planet called Bavania III, but there is no way to make contact. People who live in the colony there their do not have communication equipment like we do. The disease this pilot had, can be cured easily. I will see to it everyone gets a vaccin. There is no problem at this time." Commodore Van Nieuwenhove addresses his First Officer, Captain Sigrid Johansson and gives his orders. "Send a ship to Bavania III to check the colony. Maybe they need medical assistance." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt Commodore Mechels realises that it is time to deal with an enemy species now he has a powerful Borg fleet, he can eliminate all evil out of the galaxy, maybe even the Federation. The question is where to start. The USS Thunderbolt and USS Recon, undercommand of Commander Carl Summer, fly through space, accompanied by 192 Borg ships. The fleet is moved by remote control. Only the Borg aboard the USS Thunderbolt know how this all works. The rumors on the ship spread and it is clear that Commodore Mechels and his crew have a powerful instrument to "clean up the galaxy". While Commodore Mechels discusses the first target a message comes in from the USS Recon. "This is Commander Carl Summer. Commodore, we have a medical emergency. In a matter of 30 minutes most of our crew has become sick. Our doctor thinks we cannot be saved and he has no medecine or methode to cure us..." There is a moment of slince. Commander Summer is coughing heavily. "...We cannot allow this illness to spread. Please do not come abaord the USS Recon. It is not safe. We are..." Commander Summer coughs heavily again. "Not only humans are infected. Vulcans and Bolinas too. We don't understand. Please do not come aboard. If you don't hear from us anymore, and you do not read any lifesigns, we must be dead and you have to destroy our ship." Master One looks up to the screen where Commander Summer is standing and coughing again. He seems to have an idea. "Commodore Mechels. I can go over to the USS Recon and try to help. I cannot feel anything in the force that is a disturbance. This should be a natural caused sickness. I should be invulnerable." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang Everyone is happy the war is over. Thousands of lightyears away in the Scaton Nebula the crew of the USS Walang has a small party, but the Trsterts are not yet sure the threat is over. Life in the Scaton Federation is continuing as usual. Apparently the members of the Scaton Nebula do not realize what kind of threat the Shadows can be... Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 85 22.04 The war is over. Commodore Slater personally helps with the repairs. The USS Vertigo only has modertae damage and warp power is still available. Day 86 07.00 First senior staff meeting with the first damage and repair reports. Most of the security personnel, including Lieutenant Commander Matz is helping with the repairs as well. Day 86 14.23 Some Klingon ships pass close by. The Captains of those ships thank the USS Vertigo and especially Lieutenant Commander Matz. She has fought with honor like a true Klingon. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The USS Iceberg is on its way to Fatana II, a planet where more and more Starfleet personnel takes a well deserved vacation or a short shore leave. The Crew of the USS Iceberg deserves that vacation. The tropical resort planet Fatana II. General Crow has one more thing to say. "For marines vacation isn't something that happens often,so we'll have that vacation." Everyone agrees. And a few days later the ship is in orbit of Fatana II where the first groups of marines are transported to the surface. The USS Iceberg will stay for two weeks and all marines who do not have any duties can transport to the planet to enjoy themselves. Also in orbit are the USS Credit and USS Systran. The crews of those ships have a well desereved vacation too. The first few days Nobody gets enough from being on vacation, but on the fourth day the Captain of the USS Systran contacts General Crow and the Captain of the USS Credit. "Hello Gentlemen, I am Captain Jacobsen. I have received word from the planet that some of my crew are really sick..." During the day more and more people on the planet are getting sick and doctors already speak about an epedemic disease. There seems to be no cure. Captain Jacobsen, in command of the USS Systran and Captain Herolin, in command of the USS Credit have already ordered that nobody can go to the planet and nobody can come back to the ship. But a few hours later it is to late. The first sick people report in at sickbay on the USS Systran, USS Credit, but also aboard the USS Iceberg the first sick people enter sickbay. Atad is very clear. If they don't find a cure the first people will die at the end of the week... General Crow is the highest ranking officer. He places his ship, the USS Credit and USS Systran in quarentaine. Crow gives new orders as well. "Let no other ship come close to the planet Fatana II. Untill we've any idea of what is happening on the planet nobody leaves their ship. I'll send medical teams in hazmat suits to see of they can find anything." Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado/USS Cinebow The war has ended. Most Starfleet personnel think about going home or at least call home to tell that they are all right. Captain Walker has his responsibilities and has a chat with Admiral Conner "No admiral my transport is leaving for Vulcan, I am meeting my parents." Admiral Conner is more than a bit surprised. "Your parents are are Vulcans!" "Yes admiral I was intrusted to Vulcans by Ambassodor Spock." "Yes I remember something about that. To bussiness, the Colorado is badly damaged to put back in service. I have a new ship in mind for you Captain the Atlantis, this is the data. I like to hear from you in one week." Captain Walker is not exactly pleased. "Thank you Admiral. But I like to stick with the Colorado. No Captain! look over the data. Have a nice trip." Then the word comes from First Officer Commander Sonak Here you are Tom, the transport is about the leave. I saw Lt Ally Jones on the way over here. She said see was looking for a transfer! Thank you Mr Sonak, there 's something I want to talk about on the way." Captain Walker and Commander Sonak disappear in the mass of engineers and technicians who are still repairing the USS Colorado what they say to echother is unknown. Later they meet with Lieutenant Ally Jones and a moment after that Captain Walker pilots a runabout into space from the USS Colorado. It is not clear who is with him. But one thing seems to be sure. Walker is not yet ready to give up the USS Colorado. Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper The war with the Shadows is over. There is a celebration party aboard the USS Alice Cooper-B. But somehow the party is not what it should be. With the disappearance of Ambassador Jas Stevens and the unsuccessful search on the ship and the planet Angel One below, Captain Kallee worries about the ambassador. ---------- Unknown to Ambassador Jas Stevens the war with the Shadows is over. Stevens is in some kind of hotel room. He does not remember how he got in that room. In front of him there is a human female offering him a meal. Stevens does not recognize the woman. And when he asks about it, she only tells him his memory will come back to him in a few days. The only thing Ambassador Stevens can remember is that it is his birthday next week... Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) The Hirogen fleet has been the saviour of the galaxy. Although it seems that way. The mighty fleet is on its way back home in the Delta Quadrant. All of the hunters speak with pride about this big hunt and they all spread the word around. One thing is sure. Alpha Hirogen Donar has not only become friends of the Tok'ra Hirogen Horkan and Jotarn, but is praised among the Hirogen as the one who brought together the hunters once again. High hopes are now present that all of the Hirogen will come together again and become the mighty hunter species once again. With some Goa'uld systems lords threatening the Tok'ra and other people, the tasks of the Hirogens is not over for many years to come. Horkan asks Donar to send scout ships out in the region to try to find more Hirogen and tell them about the great hunt they had. Players: Thomas van Rhee Earth Alliance Starship (EAS) Terradyne ::ON the EAS Terradyne:: ""Marshal, reports coming in that the Romulans are attacking and defeating the shadows. More reports confirm that the Shadows are in full retreat and being destroyed by the combined forces of the Federation, Klingons, and a race called Ferengi." stated the Comms Officer. "Excellent, and thank you Lieutenant Commander. Break radio silence and send our congratulations to all involved." Just as the veteran combat officer was just about to relax the proximity alarm sounded. "Science station, identify object in our area!" shouted Draan. "Sir, I was not able to get a positive id on the vessel, but from what I did get it looked like a part of a Shadow cruiser heading course 98 by 65 by 125." "Conn lay in pursuit course and engage at maximum burn. Charge all weapons and stand by to fire." The war between the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, Ferengi and Hirogen against their enemy the Shadows is over, but abaord the Earth Alliance Starship Terradyne under command of FMAR Draan Marr the crew realizes the Shadows could want some kind of revenge... Players: Steve Elliot DS2 RPG General Status Report April 2008 USS Earth The USS Earth is on its way to the badlands. Admiral Gnosk has been informed that the USS Earth will try to find a planet in the Badlands, inhabited by Maquis who do not know the war between them and the Cardassians or Federation is over. These Maquis have no idea of the war against the Dominion and that they are the last of the Maquis... Moving a galaxy class starship into the Badlands is not as easy as it looks. But helm officer Lieutenant Sarah Lewis makes the ship move like a bee in a flower field. The search takes almost a full day. But without damage the USS Earth approaches the planet, completely isolated. As soon as possible Commodore Steichen orders to open a channel to contact the Maquis on the planet. Sensors have detected a small community of 900 people in some kind of town like settlement. But there is no answer at first. Then after about 25 minutes somebody is calling from the settlment. "Federation starship. I am Doctor Meredith Fransh. Please stay away from this planet. This is your only warning." Commodore Steichen tries to convince Doctor Fransh that she has no hositl intentions. But apparently there is a misunderstanding. "You don't understand Commodore Steichen. A few days some kind of epedemic... anyway... We have lost 29 people to an unknown sickness already. If yo come down here you and your crew will get this sickness too. I have tried everything but I can't find a cure..." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 The USS Napoli is on its way to the planet Bavania III to check on the colony. Because a pilot of a freighter had arrived sick, it is possible the entire colony on Bavania has been infected. Captain Charles Verdun in command of the USS Napoli has already ordered medical teams to stand by and be prepared for anything. But there is no way to contact the colony. It is not until the USS Napoli enters te starsystem Bavania, a very weak distress signal is received from the colony on Bavania III. But it is an automated message just calling for help. When the USS Napoli enters orbit of Bavania III sensors do not indicate any life forms. It is as if the USS Napoli is to late. Captain Verdun asks Commodore Van Nieuwenhove for orders. But Commodore Van Nieuwenhove has another problem. His Chief Medical Officer Doctor Commander Enrico Jaladano has found a new case of the sickness. A minute ago Ensign Frank Stern has been brought in in sickbay. He has the same sickness as the freighter pilot, but Stern is a lot worse. Apparently the medication doesn't work. A few minutes later another officer is brought in in sickbay. It is Lieutenant Shana Locklear. She has the same sickness and she is even in a worse state than Ensign Frank Stern. Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt There is a medical emergency on the USS Recon, traveling with the USS Thunderbolt and the Borg fleet. Commodore Mechels realises the situation on the USS Recon could get out of hand if he doesn't help. He sends Master One to the USS Recon to help. The moment Master One arrives on the USS Recon he detects enemy virusses entering his body. But he addapts rather quickly, using the Force and his nanoprobes. But the crew of the USS Recon does not have his abilities, do he has to program nanoprobes to inject into the bodies of the sick people to cure them. But this procedure takes time. While Master One is on the USS Recon, the first case of the same sickness is brought into the sickbay of the USS Thunderbolt. Apparently this virus can travel through space and through the hull of starships. But Master Two and Master Three have already addapted and start programming nanoprobes to counter the enemy virus. Master Two informs Commodore Mechels of his progress while he injects the nanoprobes. "Commodore, this virus will kill all humanoid life, if there is no nanotechnology available for the sick. We have already received several reports of the same virus on many different starships." Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang Thousands of lightyears away in the Scaton Nebula the crew of the USS Walang returns to their regular duties. Captain Hendriks gives her orders to her First Officer, Commander Harry Belafonte, who has returned from Trsterts space. "Let Lieutenant Vlui teach all species about the telepathic way to defeat the Shadows in case they come here. These telepaths can teach their children and their children for endless generations and so the Scaton Federation and the Trsterts will always be safe from the Shadows. Hopefullytelepaths will be used to keep the peace between all species. Ask the Trsterts about the possibility to travel through time. Ask how they know the Shadows. We want to travel through time, don't we." The Trsterts are fast with answers. Two Trsterts diplomats visit the Scaton Federation, including Captain Hendriks to show documentation about when the Trsterts encountered the evil Shadows. When the Shadows appeared in Trsterts space and started to divide the Trsterts to have them fight among eachother this failed, because the Trsterts are a collective species. When the Shadows' plan failed, they tried to destroy the Trsterts society, but the Trsterts are highly advanced and their militairy defeated the Shadows at every battle. At the end of that war, the Trsterts had many casualties, but those who survived were free. Nobody would ever bother them again. The Trsterts confirm they can travel through time, but only to observe. The Trsterts time travel technology does not allow them to change the past. It is not that they don't want that, it is simply because their technology is not good enough. Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 91 13.00 The USS Vertigo under command of Commodore Jeffrey Slater is on its way to Stordo II. Stordo II has asked help for rebuilding after the war with the Shadows. Day 107 12.23 The USS Vertigo is in orbit of Stordo II, but there is no answer on communications. Day 107 14.13 Finally ther is contact with Stordo II. But the news is bad. There is a planet scale epedemic. Although there is danger of contamination, Medical teams in protective suits are send to the planet to help. Lieutenant Commander Matz approves of this action. As long as nobody sick comes aboard the ship, there is no danger. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg In orbit of Fatana II are the USS Iceberg, General Crow in command, the USS Systran, Captain Jacobsen in command and the USS Credit, Captain Herolin in command. On all ships and on the planet more and more sick people are coming in in the hospitals, infirmeries and in sickbay. The medical personnel transported to the planet do not seem to have any success. And their protective suits do not seem to help them as well. After 24 hours one of the doctors who was wearing a protective suit is sick... After a few days already 10 percent of the local people of Fatana II are reported to be sick. About the same amount of people on the USS Iceberg, USS Systran and USS Credit have reported in sick. Only Atad cannot be infected and it is Atad who tries to find a cure together with the docters aboard. Most sections of the starships in orbit of Fatana II are closed. This way the crew tries to contain the sickness and prevent infection. On Fatana II the doctors are working on a cure as well. After some tests more tests follow. But nothing seems to work. The cause of the sickness is unknown as well. Atad and the doctors have not found a cure yet. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado/USS Cinebow A runabout has left the USS Colorado. Aboard is Captain Tom Walker. Who is with him is unknown. Fact is that the runabout is going to Vulcan where Captain Walker meets his parents T'lau and Sulak. ... "Greeting mother and father." "You look well." "Thank you mother." "Your mother was consurned for your well being with the Shadows." "Thank you father, I'm happy to be home. I have some things to think about, and decisions to make." Sulak has foreseen this already. "Your mother and I have made plans for your stay." "Plans father." "Yes, there's someone that has been waiting for you since your last visit." Walker is a bit surprised. "You mean, T'lan is here on Vulcan." T'lau can only confirm that. "Yes Thomas, T'lan is here on Vulcan." But Walker has no hurry. "I will visit T'lan tomorrow. Almost forgot, Sonak is coming with his parents tonight." "We were expecting Sonak to come with his parents, as they do so each time you are Vulcan. Which is not often!" While Captain Walker and Commander Sonak are visiting their parents on Vulcan, the crew of the USS Colorado is still uncertain whether they can keep their ship. Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper On the lower decks of the USS Alice Cooper-B, junior officers are making a plan to find Amassador Jas Stevens, who has disappeared on Angel One. If the plan is successful, they might get promotion, or at least a commendation. But the work is difficult. All kinds of sensor sweaps have already been tried without success. Untill Ensign Franky Zap comes up with the idea that Amassador Jas Stevens is no longer in this universe, but has traveled to another, mirror universe. Ambassador Jas Stevens himself has lost his memory and finds himself in some kind of hospital or hotel. After a meal he is accompanied by a nurse outside. Around the hospital there is a large park, but behind the trees, Stevens can see huge buildins of a city. But he still doesn't recognize anything... Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) A huge fleet of Hirogen is assembled at Gundrota where the Tok'ra and a large part of refugies from the threat of the Goa'uld are building a new society. With the help of the Hirogen Gundrota has become a fortress. But the Hirogens themselves use Gundrota as their home as well. This is the place were all Hirogen hunts will start. After the latest successes, More Hirogen report in. On daily basis scouts are sent out to find even more Hirogen. The gathering of Hirogen makes them a proud hunter species again. Old friends who have not seen eachother for a decade are reunited. Stories of past hunts are told and the word around the entire galaxy is spread through the communication network, which is already expanding. And about two weeks after the successful hunt on the Shadows a new target is chosen. Horkan has made a decision. "We take over the Galaxy. Let's start with the Goa'uld." Players: Thomas van Rhee Earth Alliance Starship (EAS) Terradyne The Earth Alliance Starship Terradyne is the lead ship of a large fleet on its way home. word has come in from a long forgotten ranger that th Shadows have returned. Now that their home probably is threatened by the Shadows... But the fleet needs time to get home. In that time discussions between factions and the different species lead to nothing. No action is planned against a possible Shadow invasion. Far away at the border three starfuries are on patrol. The pilots are making jokes and they don't realise the shadow of death hangs over them. But they don't see it coming... Just as they arrive at the jumppoint a Shadow scoutship attacks out of nowhere. But the Lieutenant in command knows something has to be done to warn home and he gives his orders. "Dackson, get back home. Josy and I will hold that ship as long as we can. Warn home. Get out of here..." Dackson turns and enters the jumppoint. In a last view he sees his friends starfuries destroyed. Then he escapes... Word is spread around an within the hour the President himself appears on all viewscreens of all ships, facilities and in the homes. "These are weird times. There is word that the Shadows have returned. This of course is not true. We don't know yet who is responsible for spreading these rumours, but rest asured, we will deal with them. These traitors and terrorists will be hunted down and treated according their crimes..." While the president is giving his speach some officers, including FMAR Draan Marr himself, see a small animal-like creature on the right shoulder of the president... Players: Steve Elliot DS2 RPG General Status Report May 2008 USS Earth The USS Earth is in orbit of the last Maquis planet. The doctor of the small Maquis community Doctor Meredith Fransh warns the USS Earth crew to stay away as there is an epidemic on the planet. Fransh says the epidemic started a few hours ago, but has spread extremely fast. Commodore Steichen wants to help. "Sent medical teams to the planet to help these Maquis. Do not let anyone aboard our ship to prevent contamination. Medical teams should protect themselves with life suits. Explain to these Maquis that the war is over and that the Cardassians will not bother them again." While the USS Earth medical teams prepare themselves something happens on the planet. Chief of Operations Lieutenant Commander Harry Dankers reports. "Commodore. I think we should hurry. These people fall in groups. I am reading 619 life signs, 589, wait this can't be right, 452, recalibrating sensors, I am sorry Commodore, but there must be something wrong here, although they don't seem to move around a lot down there. They are disappearing. This epidemic must really be something..." Dankers cannot finish his sentence. Chief of Security Lieutenant Commander Ulo Hung confirms the numbers. "317, Commodore. There is no answer to our hails..." Chief Medical Officer Doctor Zaffo Numbo enters the bridge. "Commodore, the medical teams are ready." Chief of Operations Harry Dankers has run diagnostics on all sensor arrays. There was nothing wrong. "196. I strongly suggests we do something now before it is really to late. 89, Commodore." Twenty seconds later the medical teams have been transported to the planet. But Doctor Snadav, in command of the away teams has a shocking report. "USS Earth. This is Doctor Snadav on the surface. We have found the Maquis. But there is something strange. They are all walking around here like nothing has happened. But the strange thing is, our tricorders do not identify them as life forms. They seem to be... "undead"... if I can use that word. They are certainly not holograms." Chief Medical Officer Doctor Zaffo Numbo on the bridge has another opinion. "They could be taken over by an alien life form which we cannot detect. I recommend that we examine them on the planet. We should not let even one of these Maquis aboard." Chief of Security Ulo Hung has a different opinion. "I don't trust these Maquis. This must be somekind of trap. We told them the war is over, but they may not believe that. I suggest we get our medical teams back aboard immediately, before something happens to them." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 An unknown dangerous illness is spreading around on Starbase 369. Doctors do not have an answer. The possible cause of this illness could perhaps be found on a planet called Bavania III. The USS Napoli, under command of Captain Charles Verdun is in orbit of Bavania III. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove on Starbase 369 gives his orders. "Send a USS Napoli away team to the colony on Bavania to check the transmitter and the population. The key to this sickness could be found on Bavania III..." The small medical away team is transported to the surface of Bavania III at the location where the small colony should be. But although te small buildings are intact, there is nobody present. The away team searches the buildings, but there is no clue of where the population can be. Just as Doctor Lemmings wants to report the colony is a ghost city, a man appeares at the gate of the city. Slowly he walks into the colony. The two security officers take their weapon, but Doctor Lemmings signals to put the weapons away. The doctor addresses the man, who has come closer. "I am Doctor Lemmings of the Starfleet starship USS Napoli. Where are the other colony members? I have to see them. There might be some kind of epidemic going on here." "I am technician Dro Mal. The entire colony is working in the nearby ruins. I am here just to pickup some gear. Why are you wearing protective suits? Are we in any danger?" "I don't know, but a freighter pilot who arrived at our starbase was very sick and we traced his flightplan to Bavania III. Has anyone of you been sick in any way?" Technician Dro Mal seems to think about that. "Yes we have been sick, all of us, some kind of serious flue, but we are all cured now. We almost didn't make it. It was a close call I guess." "How were you cured. What medicine did you use?" "We didn't use anything. We recovered naturally. The sickness disappeared. Our doctor says we are all ok now. Maybe we should talk to her." An hour later the USS Napoli away team joins the colonists at the ruins. Doctor Lemmings meets Doctor Lory, the colony doctor. Doctor Lory can only confirm she did not have a cure and everyone healed naturally. It is clear now that the sick freighter pilot has brought the sickness to Bavania III. The planet visited by this freighter pilot prior to Bavania III is Zlokop II. But Zlokop II is not a member of the Federation. But maybe some clue can be found there. But it is good news that the entire colony population has survived this terrible illness. But when back on board the USS Napoli the Chief of Operations reports that sensors still do not detect any humanoid lifesigns. It is as if the population of the colony does not exsist. One of the bridge officers jokes about the people on Bavania are some kind of "undead", "zombies" or "vampires"... But nobody is laughing. Captain Verdun has no answer to the questions. He contacts the colony. It is Colony Director Dan Birds who responds. Birds asures Captain Verdun that everything is all right. The Chief of Operations reports again that sensors still do not detect any humanoid lifesigns. Colony Director Dan Birds does not understand and asures that he is alive. But there is nothing wrong Captain Verdun reports the situation to Commodore Van Nieuwenhove. Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt It is Lieutenant Nora Bergen who enters the USS Recon sickbay as the last one who has to be injected by Borg nanites. The sickness only has one cure. Master One has no other remedie than to use nanites to kill the virus and make the men and women aboard the USS Recon and USS Thunderbolt immune to the virus. As the virus can travel through space and can somehow get on a starship from space the danger increases. Lieutenant Nora Bergen sits down on the biobed and waits for the doctor to inject her. She is not happy with that, but she knows there is no choice. "You won't feel a thing," says the doctor while he injects the nanites. "You see. That was it." Lieutenant Nora Bergen returns to her duties. By that time the crew of the USS Recon and USS Thunderbolt has returned to duty. As nothing has happened the fleet resumes its original course. Players: Helena Straetman,Caroline Keuleers,Willem Keuleers, Lieselotte Keuleers, Wouter Keuleers USS Walang The Trsterts have granted the technology to time travel to the Scaton Federation and Captain Hendriks of the USS Walang. Captain Hendriks and her crew have decided to let the system go. "One can leran a lot from the past if one wants to. Most human beings want to make their own mistakes hereby repeating again and again all the mistakes made in the past. So let' learn from it." The technology can only be used to observe. There is no possibility to intervene. The crew decides to travel to Earth to the time of Julius Caesar. ------- All Gaul is divided into three parts, one of which the Belgae inhabit, the Aquitani another, those who in their own language are called Celts, in our Gauls, the third. All these differ from each other in language, customs and laws. The river Garonne separates the Gauls from the Aquitani; the Marne and the Seine separate them from the Belgae. Of all these, the Belgae are the bravest... While the crew of the USS Walang watches, history unfolds... It was 52BC when Vercingetorix of the Avernian city of Gergovia raised an army and made alliances with other tribes to fight the Romans. But the Romans were brutal. When Ceasar took the city of Avaricum all 120 thousand inhabitants were killed. The next images are from a large battle. Apparently the Romans were in a state of retreat. Vercingetorix had won the battle at Gergovia, but lost a lot of good soldiers. He had to retreat as well. And the Romans were not defeated completely. They were able to catch up with Vercingetorix at a city of Alisia. Ceasar built fortifications around the city of Alisia. Vercingetorix could not break through that fortification. But Vercingetorix was smarter than that and called for the other Gaul tribes to come help. Caesar had anticipated this and had built a second ring of fortifications around his own defenses to stop other Gaul armies. The Gaul armies attacked randomly and at first they didn't have much success. But there was a weakness in the fortification and when the Gaul troops attacked there, Caesar himself had to fight with his troops to win the battle. Vercingetorix surrendered to save his people and was imprisoned... ----------- The USS Walang crew realises that the battle at Alisia was crucial in the history of the human species... Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 108 00.35 The USS Vertigo in orbit of Stordo II receives the latest reports on the planet wide epidemic. The medical away teams are helping where they can, but it seems a hopeless situation. Day 109 17.29 There is no cure for the sickness on Stordo II. Even the medical teams from the USS Vertigo in life suits are getting sick. In a few hours it is over. The USS Vertigo sensors do not detect any signs of any humanoid life form. Day 109 19.12 Just as Commodore Slater calls his senior officers to the briefing room, the USS Vertigo is contacted from the planet Storbo II. It is Doctor Linden. He says he and all the people of Storbo II greet the crew of the USS Vertigo and ask the crew to join them on the planet. But sensors still do not detect any signs of any humanoid life form. Security Chief, Lieutenant Commander Matz suggests to leave some automated buoys in orbit of the planet warning travelers that Stordo II is in quarantine. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The population of Fatana II People is getting sick. The crews of the USS Iceberg, General Crow in command, the USS Systran, Captain Jacobsen in command and the USS Credit, Captain Herolin in command are also becomming sick. Atad and the doctors are wordking on a cure. But even the doctors on the planet has not found anything to stop the virus. The Federation Council has already been informed and all Federation planets are now trying to find a cure, but there is no result. On Fatana II the doctors are working on a cure as well. After some tests more tests follow. But nothing seems to work. The cause of the sickness is unknown as well. Atad and the doctors have not found a cure yet. Time is running out as Atad reports almost half of the population on the planet Fatana II has gotten the sickness. By sending the sick people on the starships to the planet, there is hope the sickness will not strike as fast as on the planet. But it is clear this virus travels through space. In time all will be sick... and will die... Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado/USS Cinebow While Captain Walker and Commander Sonak are visiting their parents on Vulcan, the crew of the USS Colorado is still uncertain whether they can keep their ship. Admiral Conner had planned not to repair the USS Colorado and have the entire crew transfer to another ship, the USS Atlantis. But until there is a final decision about the USS Colorado, the crew continues the repairs. They work as fast as they can. In the lower decks were three men are repairing the sensor arrays they talk about the latest results of their favorite sports club, the latest decision of the Federation council and the rumour of a sickness spreading around the fleet... Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper While Ambassador Jas Stevens is still trying to find out where he is, the crew of the USS Alice Cooper-B has not yet given up the search for the Ambassador. Deck by deck the search continues, but even some of the caves on Angel One are target of the search. As the ship's sensors cannot penetrate the composit rocks, the caves have to be searched by away teams. At the same time Jas Stevens is walking around in a park with a nurse. He still does not recognise anything. On a small bench an older men sits enjoying the beautiful weather. He looks up to Jas Stevens and the nurse when they pass. "Nurse Callywell. Is that the new guy. He looks young." But the nurse waves with her hand as a sign the man on the bench may not speak to Jas Stevens... Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) A large fleet of Hirogen ships leave the planet of Gundrota. Inntelligence Tok'ra have found out that there is an important meeting of Goa'uld system lords on a planet called Fsemopet. This is a chance to hunt the Goa'uld and weaken them or even destroy them. On Fsemopet it is system lord Damophet who has called the last of the Goa'uld system lords to make a plan to destroy these Hirogen who fight with the Tok'ra. But as usual the system lords do not agree, although they know something has to be done. In the next few days the Hirogen fleet comes closer, but there is no danger yet for the Goa'uld system lords who continue their bickering. But while the threats against eachother and the cunning plans of some of the system lords are executed, a messenger brings bad news to system lord Gluno. "My lords. Our fleets have been attacked by an unknown species. Apparently we cannot kill these creatures. They seem to be mechanical spider like creatures and our weapons do not work against them. We have already lost half the fleet in half a day." Laughter among the other system lords starts as the system lord Gluno looks at the messenger in disbelieve. "Who is behind this," shouts Gluno, looking around at the laughing system lords. "Do you think this is funny... Since Anubis is dead, there are large groups of Jaffa who have declared themselves free. Do you think that is funny too?" But the messenger is bold enough to continue his report. "My lord, all the fleets of all the system lords have been attacked by these creatures. All fleets have lost many ships already. Our spies on some of the Tauri planets say the Tauri call this mechanical species the replicators." The laughter stops. All system lords look at eachother. They seem to have a goal now. But before they can speak again, a group of large humanoid men, calling themselves Hirogen hunters transports into the room. They show no mercy... None of the Goa'uld system lords can escape. While the Goa'uld on Fsemopet are victims of the Hirogen hunt, the Goa'uld fleets are destroyed by small robotic machines. Only two Goa'uld system lords can escape from the entire tragedy. Lord Toekanth and Lord Hunon. Both are not important Goa'uld, without a fleet, and they were not invited to the Goa'uld system lord meeting at Fsemopet. Toekanth and Hunon realise they have to hide for some time... And suddenly all the words he spoke seem to be one big lie. It has become clear the president is conspiring with the Shadows. But who is going to stop him. He is the president... FMAR Draan Marr needs a plan. He needs it fast, before the Shadow influence spreads... Players: Steve Elliot DS2 RPG General Status Report June 2008 USS Earth Deep in the badlands the USS Earth is in orbit of the last Maquis planet. Due to a mysterious sickness all of thes Maquis have died, but have resurected. The USS Earth doctor who examines the Maquis uses the word "undead" to describe what he sees. The tricorders and ship's sensors do not detect the Maquis as life forms. Commodore Steichen wants to know more. "Investigate the people on the Maquis planet in more detail. This is very strange. Maybe they are indeed "undead"..." The medical teams on the planet continue their investigation. But the only conclusion so far is that the Maquis population is acting as nothing has happened. Aboard the USS Earth on deck 42 a team of four officers is runing a diagnostic of the sensor array, to see if the sensors are indeed working like they should. One of the team is Ensign Lionel Warhold. "So far so good. I don't think there is something wrong with our sensors. Yeah yeah, I cannot explain that they are just running around down there while we can't detect them. If you ask me..." Warhold has just stopped talking. He is flat on the floor. When his fellow officers try to help him he claims to be all right, but clearly he is not. A few minutes later Chief Medical Officer Doctor Zaffo Numbo has some bad news for Commodore Steichen. "Commodore. I don't know what has happened, but we have our first case of the same sickness which struck the Maquis. I cannot explain it. This should not be, but it appeares that this is a kind of virus that can travel through space, penetrate our hull, and then enter a humanoid body..." There is a pauze. "Commodore, they just brought in the second case. I would recommend to put the ship in quarintine, but I am not sure whether this will help. There are 200 thousand kilometers of space between the planet and the ship. Apparently this does not stop te spreading of the sickness." One day after the first case, almost 20 percent of the crew is infected. None of them is in real danger yet, but knowing what happened on the Maquis planet, the result is predictable. But Doctor Numbo and his team are very good in what they do. Later that day Doctor Numbo meets with Commodore Steichen to discuss the situation. "Commodore. We have examined the sick thorough enough to be able to do something about it. But you are not going to like it and neither will anyone else. There is an alien virus attaching itself to the red bloodcells. So basicly when all red bloodcells have been taken over, the virus takes over the body completely, except for the brain. That is very strange indeed. The only way to stop this alien virus, is to use nanites, programmed to destroy the virus and stay in the body to prevent this alien virus can restart again in trying to take over the body again. Nobody is immune to this alien virus, not me, not you. The question is, whether we must inject everyone with the nanites, or should we only do that for volonteers. As soon as I am getting sick, I will inject myself with the nanites. I have already made that decision for myself. But what will you do and what about the crew and the Maquis on the planet? Some might see this as an opportunity to explore immortality. They migh protest against this cure. Some might not want it because they don't want to feel like a Borg drone. I don't know. But we have to make a decision sooner rather than later. We are lucky that the braincells are not compatible with the alien virus. If they were, the virus could take over us and Starfleet and the Federation and everything we know. Then I would certainly think this was an alien invasion of some kind..." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 Commodore Geert Van Nieuwenhove has put Starbase 369 under quarantine. More and more personnel reports in at sickbay. Closing sections of the starbase does not really help. Personnel from all over the staion is getting the sickness. There still is no cure, but the doctors are hopeful. But after three days Chief Petty Officer Junka Heart passes away. The doctors cannot do anything for her anymore. An hour later Junka Haert's friends are gathered around the torpedo casing in which she has been layed waiting for her last journey... into space... But during the ceremony a noise is heard from within the casing. The sound turns into shouting... "Hey! Let me out of here! Let me out of here!" The first moment nobody moves. Then Lieutenant Chopin jumps forward and starts opening the casing. The others start to help and in a few seconds the casing is open and Chief Petty Officer Junka Heart sits there straight up. "Is this a joke? Why am I in this torpedobox?" Doctor Commander Enrico Jaladano comes as fast as he can. He immediately starts examining Junka Heart. He can only come to one conclusion. "Chief. I don't know what happened. I really don't. But according my readings you are dead. My medical tricorder does not detect you as a life form." About an hour later Doctor Commander Enrico Jaladano has a meeting with Commodore Van Nieuwenhove. "Commodore. We have several cases of people who have died and then somehow have resurected. Our equipment tells us these people are not alive, but apparently they are in some way. At this time we also have developed three possible cures: chemical therapy, genetic therapy and if those do not help for the volonteers we only came up with using nanites. During these thearpies I cannot guarantee that there will not be people killed. We must decide which therapy to use first and which could be the most effective. This can only be done by testing on the sick. I need your permission sir to test these therapies on those who are to sick to decide for themselves." ---------------- While the USS Napoli under command of Captain Charles Verdun is in orbit of Bavania III stil has the same dilemma. The sensors do not registrate the population of Bavania III. Even on the planet itself the tricorders show no life signs. It is as if the population of Bavania III does not exsist. ---------------- Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt Thanks to the Borg Jedi masters aboard the USS Recon and USS Thunderbolt the sickness has been stopped and alle crewmembers are now immune against the sickness. Commodore Mechels decides that he will not inform anyone about this sickness. For the Jedi masters this is just a futility, nothing important. Life continues as if nothing has happened. The Borg fleet escorts the two Federation to their next objective. In the USS Recon shuttlebay Ensign Tony Emola and Lieutenant Mary Sloop are working on the new upgrades of the Type 10 shuttlecraft. The new microtorpedoes contain shield frequency scanners and are much more effective, even against bigger ships. "Tony, we only have to increase the shield efficiency of these shuttles. Commander Summer wants more shield output, even if this means the time the shields work will be shorter. I have the impression these shuttles will be used in battle, or some more dangerous mission. What do you think Tony?" "I don't know Lieutenant Sloop. Usually I don't speculate what my superiors want. I have just graduated from the academy, so it is not my place to stick my nose in the commander's plans. Although I even think these are the Commodore's plans. And I don't even want to think about that." "I used to be like you Tony. You'll change. When you get that feeling of wanting to be more than just what you are. Hey what is that? Did you see that? I saw something in the shuttle cockpit. It was moving..." Armed with a spanner Ensign Tony Emola slowly enters the shuttle. But Lieutenant Mary Sloop pushes him aside. She has a phaser in her hand. Tony looks at the phaser. He is clearly amazed. "Where did you take that phaser?" "I always have one in my boot Ensign. Please let me pass or I will make it an order. What I think I saw in the shuttle needs more than a spanner..." "Yes ma'am Lieutenant. Hey what exactly did you see? Hey wait." But Lieutenant Sloop has already entered the shuttle and moves to the cockpit section. She is followed by Ensign Emola with the spanner. Side by side they enter the cockpit. There is a Borg drone sitting in the pilot seat. Apparently he is just staring in front of him. The drone clearly is not Master One or Master Two or Master Three. This is a complete different drone. Lieutenant Sloop doesn't take any chances. "Sloop to security, I need a full platoon in the shuttlebay now. There is a unknown Borg drone sitting here. Get on it." Only a few moments later a security team enters the shuttlebay. The drone comes out of the shuttlecraft, but doesn't say anything. He just stands there surrounded by security troops. Behind the security officers Borg Jedi Master One materializes. He has transported himself to the USS Recon. Master One doesn't look surprised at all. It is as if he knows this Borg Drone... The Merovingian dynasty owes its name to Merovech, leader of the Salian Franks, and emerges into wider history with the victories of his son Childeric I (reigned c.457 – 481) against the Visigoths, Saxons, and Alemanni. Childeric's son Clovis I went on to unite most of Gaul north of the Loire under his control around 486, when he defeated Syagrius, the Roman ruler in those parts. He won the Battle of Tolbiac against the Alemanni in 496, at which time, according to Gregory of Tours, Clovis adopted his wife's Nicene Christian faith. He subsequently went on to decisively defeat the Visigothic kingdom of Toulouse in the Battle of Vouillé in 507. After Clovis' death, his kingdom was partitioned among his four sons, and over the next century this tradition of partition would continue. Even when multiple Merovingian kings ruled, the kingdom — not unlike the late Roman Empire — was conceived of as a single entity ruled collectively by several kings (in their own realms) and a turn of events could result in the reunification of the whole kingdom under a single ruler. Leadership among the early Merovingians was probably based on mythical descent and alleged divine patronage, expressed in terms of continued military success. Upon Clovis' death in 511, the Merovingian kingdom included all the Franks and all of Gaul but Burgundy. To the outside, the kingdom, even when divided under different kings, maintained unity and conquered Burgundy in 534. After the fall of the Ostrogoths, the Franks also conquered Provence. After this their borders with Italy (ruled by the Lombards since 568) and Visigothic Septimania remained fairly stable. Internally, the kingdom was divided among Clovis' sons and later among his grandsons and frequently saw war between the different kings, who quickly allied among themselves and against one another. The death of one king would create conflict between the surviving brothers and the deceased's sons, with differing outcomes. Later, conflicts were intensified by the personal feud around Brunhilda. However, yearly warfare often did not constitute general devastation but took on an almost ritual character, with established 'rules' and norms. Eventually, Clotaire II in 613 reunited the entire Frankish realm under one ruler. Later divisions produced the stable units of Austrasia, Neustria, Burgundy and Aquitania. The frequent wars had weakened royal power, while the aristocracy had made great gains and procured enormous concessions from the kings in return for their support. These concessions saw the very considerable power of the king parcelled out and retained by leading comites and duces (counts and dukes). Very little is in fact known about the course of the seventh century due to a scarcity of sources, but Merovingians remained in power until the eighth century. Clotaire's son Dagobert I who died 639 and who had sent troops to Spain and pagan Slavic territories in the east, is commonly seen as the last powerful Merovingian King. Later kings are known as rois fainéants ("do-nothing kings"), despite the fact only the last two kings did nothing. The kings, even strong-willed men like Dagobert II and Chilperic II, were not the main agents of political conflicts, leaving this role to their mayors of the palace, who increasingly substituted their own interest for their king's. Many kings came to the throne at a young age and died in the prime of life, weakening royal power further. The conflict between mayors was ended when the Austrasians under the Pepin the Middle triumphed in 687 in the Battle of Tertry. After this, Pepin, though not a king, was the political ruler of the Frankish kingdom and left this position as a heritage to his sons. It was now the sons of the mayor that divided the realm among each other under the rule of a single king. After Pepin's long rule, his son Charles Martel assumed power, fighting against nobles and his own stepmother. His reputation for ruthlessness further undermined the king's position. The leader of the Arab army was Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi, emir of Cordoba who had been defeated during the battle of Toulouse in 721 by Odo the Great, Duke of Aquitaine. But Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi returned with a much larger army and defeated Odo the great in several battles. After the last, the battle of the River Garonne, Odo the Great had no choice than to turn to Charles Martel for help. It was Charles Martel who assembled a huge army to stop the invasion of the Arabs who invaded from the south. They had already looted Bordeaux... Christianity hinged on the upcoming battle, the battle at Tours, also known as the battle at Poitiers as the battle took place between Tours and Poitiers. It was 732. The infantry army of Charles Martel did not break although they were outnumbered. But with a few tricks, including killing the Arab leader Abd er Rahman, Charles Martel succeeded in having the Arab army retreat. Even when the son of Abd er Rahman, again tried to conquer the region, Charles Martel drove the Arabs away during a campaigne in 736-737. During the last years of his life Charles Martel even ruled without a king, though he did not assume royal dignity. His sons Carloman and Pepin again appointed a Merovingian figure-head to stem rebellion on the kingdom's periphery, but in 751, Pepin finally displaced the last Merovingian and, with the support of the nobility and the blessing of Pope Zachary, himself assumed the title of a King of the Franks. The deposed Merovingian was sent into a monastery, bereft of his symbolic long hair. With Pepin, the Carolingians ruled the Franks as Kings. The USS Walang crew realises that the battle at Tours/Poitiers was crucial in the history of the human species... "Yes admiral, I 'm sorry for the bad communication. We are having some problems with the com systems." "Captain, I'm afraid I have some bad news for you, read the data I sending you!" But apparently Captain Walker already knows. "Admiral if it is about the sickness spreading, I was told about that from their high Council. Apearently they are immune to the sickness." Admiral Conner does not seem worried yet. "We know that is why Starfleet has ordered the Atlantis to Vulcan, it has a complete crew on Vulcan. I'm sorry Captain to brake up your wedding plans. "The Wedding is tomorrow." "The Atlantis will arive, the day after tomorrow. Have a good wedding Tom Walker." "Thank you, Admiral what about the Colorado." "They are still working on the Colorado. T'lau calls Captain walker. "Thomas, there is someome here to speak with you. He is Furyan." Walker walks to the door to meet with Yorlan. "I'm Captain Walker." "Greetings, my name is Yorlan. And yes I'm a Furyan." "What can I do for you." "Did you not look over the data that was given to you by Admiral Conner before your flight!" Now Sonak intervenes. "Captain!!!" "Yes Sonak what is it!" "Admiral Conner has send an Furyan representative to be a member of our new crew." "A what!" "A representative." "Thank you, and what is his function to be." Now Yorlan the Furyan speaks. "First officer, of the USS Atlantis!!!" But Captain Walker clearly disagrees with this. "That I don't believe, not while am the Captain." Sonak raises an eyebrow. "Captain, the Admiral did state in his data Yorlan is to be first officer. But not as your first officer." Walker is happy about that. "Even beter!!!" But there is no more time as Captain Walker has a more important thing to do. "Mr Yorlan, my appologies to cut our meeting short. I'm am getting married today at the Vulcan Council. There must be more clues. And there is no danger because when somebody is killed by this virus or whatever it is, he will resurect and continue living. Maybe this is the way to immortality... What will we do if more research does not have any result?" But there is no answer. There are twelve cases of sick personnel at the moment aboard the USS Earth. While the investigation of the cause is still conducted on the Maquis planet there is still no answer. The cure with the nanites has not yet been executed. Unknown to the Starfleet crew, the Maquis have a secret meeting among themselves. Most of the Maquis on the planet do not trust the Federation and the presence of a Starfleet vessel, is not to their liking. One of them, a former Starfleet Lieutenant, has some remarks. "I know how they operate. I know their procedures. Eventually we will end up in a court of law. They will never let us go. I think we should leave. There are still 200 of us who can do that." But not everyone agrees. There is an older man sitting in a corner slowly standing up. "I will never leave my home. I was born here. This is my... home. How can you even think about leaving. Why do..." An elder woman interupts. "We all go or we all stay. I prefer to go. Maybe the Federation can be trusted, but we can't take any chances." The former Starfleet Lieutenant has a thought. "We always will be fugitives. But maybe we will find a new planet far away from the Federation and Cardassia and they will forget about us. But if we want that, we have to be fast. We have to do it now." All seem to agree. The meeting ends. 20 minutes later an intrepid class starship lifts off from the planet. It was hidden below the surface covered in a way sensors could not detect it. Aboard the USS Earth the ship is detected. "Commodore. It is the USS Peru, I do not detect any life forms aboard. It must be the Maquis undead. The USS Peru is reported missing on Stardate 51002.5 during a testdrive. In command was a certain Lieutenant Nick Dock. Sensor had not detected the ship. The Maquis had hidden it well. Commodore, all medical teams have been transported back aboard our ship. We are ready to follow the USS Peru." There is no choice then to try. The first volonteer is Lieutenant Commander Joseph Ports. He sits down on the biobed and waits. He doesn't seem to be afraid. He doesn't even move when the nanites are injected. After ten seconds Ports shivers, like it is cold. A few seconds later he says he feels better. But before anyone else is injected with nanites, a few tests have to be done. Ten minutes later Doctor T'mak reports to Commodore Van Nieuwenhove that the first patient has been cured. The sickness is gone and the nanites have killed the virus causing it. But the nanites have to stay in the patient's body to prevent he gets sick again. But there are still more than thirty percent of the personnel who are not sick, and there is still the population on Bavania. They may want a cure. El Cid was born in 1044 as Rodrigo Diaz de Bivar. He was called El Cid by the Moors, meaning lord. The Spaniards called him Campeador or Champion. The Goths, after the death of Alaric, had taken Spain away from the Romans. The Saracens, or, as they were usually called, the Moors, had crossed the sea from Africa and in turn had taken Spain from the Goths. In the time of Charles Martel the Goths had lost all Spain except the small mountain district in the northern part. In the time of El Cid the Goths, now called Spaniards, had driven the Moors down to about the middle of Spain. War went on all the time between the two races, and many men spent their lives in fighting. The Spanish part of the country then comprised the kingdoms of Castile, Leon, Aragon and others. El Cid was a subject of Fernando of Castile. Fernando had a dispute with the king of Aragon about a city which each claimed. They agreed to decide the matter by a combat. Each was to choose a champion. The champions were to fight, and the king whose champion won was to have the city. Fernando chose El Cid, and though the other champion was called the bravest knight in Spain, the youthful warrior vanquished him. When Alfonzo, a son of Fernando, succeeded to the throne, he became angry with El Cid without just cause and banished him from Christian Spain. Three hundred of his knights went into banishment with El Cid. They crossed the mountains and entered the land of the Moors. Soon they reached the town of Alcocer, and after a siege captured it and lived in it. Then the Moorish king of Valencia ordered two chiefs to take three thousand horsemen, recapture the town and bring El Cid alive to him. So El Cid and his men were shut up in Alcocer and besieged. Famine threatened them and they determined to cut their way through the army of the Moors. Suddenly and swiftly they poured from the gate of Alcocer, and a terrible battle was fought. The two Moorish chiefs were taken prisoners and thirteen hundred of their men were killed in the battle. El Cid then became a vassal of the Moorish king of Saragossa. After a while Alfonzo recalled El Cid from banishment and gave him seven castles and the lands adjoining them. He needed El Cid's help in the greatest of all his plans against the Moors. He was determined to capture Toledo. He attacked it with a large army in which there were soldiers from many foreign lands. El Cid is said to have been the commander. After a long siege the city fell and the victorious army marched across the great bridge built by the Moors. Valencia was one of the largest and richest cities in Moorish Spain. It was strongly fortified, but El Cid determined to attack it. The plain about the city was irrigated by streams that came down from the neighboring hills. To prevent the Cid's army from coming near the city the Saracens flooded the plain. But El Cid camped on high ground above the plain and from that point besieged the city. Food became very scarce in Valencia. Wheat, barley and cheese were all so dear that none but the rich could buy them. People ate horses, dogs, cats and mice, until in the whole city only three horses and a mule were left alive. Then on the fifteenth of June, 1094, the governor went to the camp of El Cid and delivered to him the keys of the city. El Cid placed his men in all the forts and took the citadel as his own dwelling. His banner floated from the towers. He called himself the Prince of Valencia. When the king of Morocco heard of this he raised an army of fifty thousand men. They crossed from Africa to Spain and laid siege to Valencia. But El Cid with his men made a sudden sally and routed them and pursued them for miles. It is said that fifteen thousand soldiers were drowned in the river Guadalquivir which they tried to cross. El Cid was now at the height of his power and lived in great magnificence. He was kind and just to the Saracens who had become his subjects. They were allowed to have their mosques and to worship God as they thought right. In time El Cid's health began to fail. He could lead his men forth to battle no more. He sent an army against the Moors, but it was so completely routed that few of his men came back to tell the tale. There is a legend that shortly before he died he saw a vision of St. Peter, who told him that he should gain a victory over the Saracens after his death. So El Cid gave orders that his body should be embalmed. It was so well preserved that it seemed alive. It was clothed in a coat of mail, and the sword that had won so many battles was placed in the hand. Then it was mounted upon El Cid's favorite horse and fastened into the saddle, and at midnight was borne out of the gate of Valencia with a guard of a thousand knights. All silently they marched to a spot where the Moorish king, with thirty-six chieftains, lay encamped, and at daylight the knights of El Cid made a sudden attack. The king awoke. It seemed to him that there were coming against him full seventy thousand knights, all dressed in robes as white as snow, and before them rode a knight, taller than all the rest, holding in his left hand a snow-white banner and in the other a sword which seemed of fire. So afraid were the Moorish chief and his men that they fled to the sea, and twenty thousand of them were drowned as they tried to reach their ships. Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 113 17.22 Lieutenant Commander Matz has been injected with nanites to destroy a virus in her body which leads to a fatal disease. She seems all right. Day 113 21.51 More and more personnel aboard the USS Vertigo have been injected with nanites. The recovery of the patients is faster than expected. Lieutenant Commander Matz has already returned to duty. A message comes in from Starfleet Command to inform all Starfleet ships and facilities that the epedemic sickness can be stopped by using nanite technology. Day 114 08.19 The entire crew of the USS Vertigo, including Commodore Slater, have been injected with nanites and all of them are cured. The medical staff keeps an eye on the crew to monitor the crew's condition. For the moment the USS Vertigo avoids all contact with other ships and planets. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The USS Iceberg, General Crow in command, the USS Systran, Captain Jacobsen in command and the USS Credit, Captain Herolin in command, are in orbit of Fatana II, where the population is victim of an epedemic sickness. But with more and more people getting sick on the three starships in orbit time is running out to find a cure. Atad is working around the clock with the medical staffs. The ships are already running with skeleton crews. And the population of Fatana II is in need of a cure as well. Then, in the middle of the night Atad has found the sollution. He reports to General Crow. "General sir. We have a cure. But you might not like it. The only cure we have found are the use of specially programmed nanites. These nanites are injected in the bloodstream. They will destroy the virus causing the sickness." A few minutes later the first treatment is given to Lieutenant Burak. The nanites start their work... An hour later Burak is again fit for duty. It doesn't take long before the crews of the starships are cured... But it is not yet clear whether the population of Fatana II will receive the cure. Two days later a message from Starfleet Command comes in with the medical cure to the epedemic illness. It is a scematic of programmed nanites... Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado/USS Cinebow While Captain Thom Walker is proceding with his wedding plans on Vulcan, his First Offcier Commander Sonak is informed that Vulcans are not immune to the strange epedemic sickness that strikes within a large part of the Federation. Aboard some ships lots of tests are conducted to find a cure. Some cures have success, some do not. Aboard the USS Colorado, where repairs are not yet finished, it is still not clear what will happen to the ship. Rumors are that Captain walker will get a new ship and that the current crew of the USS Colorado will be transfered to other ships. And then there is this sickness... Even the USS Colorado is a victim of the sickness. The first crewmen enter sickbay with complaints. Chief Medical officer Doctor Lieutenant Commander Laura Wayne recognizes the symptoms. The USS Colorado now has its first patients of the epedemic illness... Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper "... I thought I saw something in that room, but there is nothing. My tricorder doesn't indicate any life forms. I wonder what could have happened to Ambassador Stevens. We haven't searched the entire ship yet, but he has to be somewhere. Maybe those women on Angel One got him and..." "Oh come on Dirk. If those women on Angel One have our Ambassador Stevens locked up or so, we would have detected him somewhere on the planet and until now we haven't. You check that room. I will take this one..." The two officers aboard the USS Alice Cooper-B continue thier search, not knowing Ambassador Jas Stevens is not on the ship and not on the planet Angel One... To Ambassador Stevens it is still not clear what has happened to him. He woke up in some kind of medical facility. He is not allowed to speak to other patinets and other patients are not allowed to speak to him. A nurse is almost constantly present. Stevens is feeling weak, but not to weak to prepair for whatever comes his way... Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) On Gundrota a small basic replicator has been captured by the Hirogen. Although a replicator is a artificial intelligent creature, it is impossible to communicate with it. Captured in the forcefield the Replicator seems to wait. The Tok'ra have heard of these replicators, but they have never actually seen one. The Tok'ra know that the replicators can be destroyed by mechanical and other simple weapons. It is time to do some experiments. The first test is to fire a low energy beam on the replicator. But this test ends up negative as the replicator is not effected. Even when the weapon is set to maximum, the replicator does not seem to have any damage. The second test is a sonic blast. But it does not have any effect. The Tok'ra explain to the Hirogen that these replicators can become anything, even humanoids, or at least look like humanoids. As the Tok'ra have heard from the Tauri, these replicators are very difficult to destroy as they have the ablility to addapt. And indeed after a few more tests with energy weapons the Hirogen also come to the conclusion that a replicator has a good defence. After almost 4 hours of testing the replicator starts to shiver. The spiderlike metalic creature begins to shake heavily. It jumps up and down. Slowly it becomes clear what is happening... A few moments later there are two replicators. But the Hirogen have a huge arsenal of different weapons for the hunt. Horkan nodds his head. Giotar, Linor, Grotor and Jotarn take their projectile weapons. According to the Tok'ra these simple weapons should be able to destroy the replicators. The Hirogen fire the weapons. The two replicators are destroyed in very small pieces. The seperate little stones are brought to a lab to investigate the replicators more thorough. Players: Thomas van Rhee Earth Alliance Starship (EAS) Terradyne The president has been compromised by the Draak who have taken control of the president personally. It is not yet clear who else is under their control. The main problem is that the President only has to order people to make sure nobody will get to him. Apparently the enemy has done a good job. FMAR Draan has split his fleet with different destinations. A small team of rangers is sent to Earth to try to find out more. A Minbar team will meet with President of the Interstellar Alliance. Things look bad as there is still te threat of the Shadows... Players: Steve Elliot DS2 RPG General Status Report Augustus 2008 USS Earth The USS Earth is in pursuit of the USS Peru, a ship stolen by the Maquis. But the Maquis are undead and can spread a sickness through the Galaxy. Commodore Steichen gives her orders. "Let the Maquis think we do not follow them, but follow their warptrail outside their sensor range. That ship is Federation property so we will get it back. Besides these Maquis can spread a sickness to other planets." More and more messages from Starfleet Medical are coming in with blueprints of nanites which cure the epedemic sickness. Most of the Federation population has been treated and is cured. Or so it seems... But the Maquis aboard the USS Peru did not have the cure... The first ten hours the USS Earth follows the USS Peru nothing changes. The warptrail of the USS Peru is easy to follow. Daily routine has just returned, but then comes a small surprise when Chief of Operations Lieutenant Commander Harry Dankers has a new report. "Commodore, I have boosted the sensors. The USS Peru is in our sensor range now. They cannot see us yet. But it seems the USS Peru has come to a full stop. All power is down. The USS Peru is at drift... No life forms are detected, but we already know that doesn't indicate anything." Doctor Zaffo Numbo makes a remark. "Maybe the undead are now really dead. Commodore, I suggest we go aboard the USS Peru for an investigation." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 The USS Napoli is sent to Zlokop II. In the investigation of the source of the sickness, spreading around in the Federation the USS Napoli enters orbit of Zlokop II. But apparently there is nothing wrong with the population of Zlokop II. But to be sure Captain Charles Verdun informs the president of Zlokop II about the sickness and he gives the nanite cure just in case the sickness will appear. After a word of thanks and greetings the USS Napoli returns to its previous position to continue the patrol. More and more messages from Starfleet Medical are coming in with blueprints of nanites which cure the epedemic sickness. Most of the Federation population has been treated and is cured. Or so it seems... But it is the USS Energy, Captain Robbert Stow in command, which has the biggest surprise. "USS Energy to Starbase 369. We have detected the USS Toronto at only one lightyear away. As we are clsoing in we cannot detect any life aboard the USS Toronto. All power is down and the ship seems to be at drift. We have downloaded the USS Toronto logs, but we cannot find anything wrong. The logs just stop without any reason. They had the sickness aboard. But we did not find anything that could indicate they have cured the sickness. Starbase 369. What are your orders?" Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt The USS Thunderbolt is escorted by the USS Recon and a small fleet of Borg ships. Aboard the USS Recon one Borg drone has been found in a shuttlecraft. Master One takes care of the drone. All kinds of stories and rumors are already spreading on the USS Recon, but also aboard the USS Thunderbolt. That evening Sally Rock a young Ensign aboard the USS Recon has gone to sleep, but only after a few minutes she is woken up by a sound. Two Borg drones enter her quarters, grab her and transport her to a Borg cube where she is brought before the Borg Queen. "So you are Sally, " the Queen starts. "You know how long I have waited for this day. You know why you are here, don't you?" But Ensign Sally Rock doesn't know and she is to scared to speak. The Borg Queen comes closer and puts her hand against Sally's cheek. "Oh but you do know why you are here," the Queen continues while Ensign Sally can only think her days as a free human are over. A few moments from now she will be assimilated and be part of the Borg Collective. The Queen's voice seems friendly, but Ensign Rock can't think clearly. "Sally Rock," the mouth of the Borg Queen is really close to Sally's ear now. The Queen whispers. "You are the one. You are the one who will take my place. I will retire. And you will take my place. I will retire on a tropical planet with lots of sun, beaches, the sea and a few drones to serve me as I wish. Hmmmm... I can already smell that cocktail of..." With a loud scream Ensign Sally Rock wakes up. She is in her bed sweating. She grasps for air. "Computer lights...," is all she can say. She looks around, but there is only her quarters, her bed, the replicator, her uniform on the chair... She had a nightmare... Next period is the beginning of the 19th century. Marshal Jean-Baptiste Jules Bernadotte, King of Sweden and Norway(Born Pau, 1763 - Died, 1844) Bernadotte, Marshal of the Empire (1804), and king of Sweden and Norway (1818-1844), existed well before Bonaparte. He was one of the generals who could claim to be a rival to the future Emperor. Lastly, he was the only one of Napoleon's close relations to obtain success strictly on his own. He is the ancestor of several monarchs today, not only in Sweden, but also in Norway, Luxembourg, Belgium and Denmark. The son of a Pau tailor made an astonishing rise to power. At a young age, Bernadotte first enlisted in the royal armies and then in the revolutionary armies. General by 1794, he left the Army of the Rhine to lend his support to Bonaparte in Italy in 1797. He was asked to take the enemy flags to the Directory. After a brief mission as ambassador to Vienna, he became minister of War under the Directory, from July to September 1799. Bernadotte would never be an unwavering Bonaparte supporter. He refused to take part in the 18-Brumaire coup d'état, and thus earned the reputation of being a radical Jacobin. As commander of the Army of the West, his name was linked to what was called the "butter pot" conspiracy (since the anti-Bonaparte leaflets circulated in these pots). Then he married Désirée Clary, Bonaparte's ex-fiancée, thus becoming brother-in-law to Joseph Bonaparte, married to Julie Clary since 1794. Nonetheless, he was named marshal in 1804 and prince of Pontecorvo two years later, even though he played a minor role in major battles. During the two simultaneous battles at Auerstädt and Jena, he was apparently long in bringing up reinforcements. Napoleon did not hold this against him, probably because of the Emperor's past relationship with Désirée Clary. While pursuing the remains of the Prussian army after the battle, Bernadotte made contacts with Swedes taken prisoner at Lübeck. This proved to be an important step, since on August 21, 1810, undoubtedly because of the relations he had formed with the prisoners, he was elected crown prince of Sweden by the Öretro States General. The Swedes hoped to have a ruler who would have Napoleon's approval. The Emperor did not support Bernadotte but did not oppose him either. The new prince himself "became" completely Swedish: he renounced Catholicism and took the affairs of the kingdom to heart. Some wondered if he would become a traitor. In 1812, he drew closer to Russia and entered a coalition against France in 1813. His army beat Oudinot at Grossberen and Ney at Dennewitz. Though he may have coveted the French throne as it was said he did not obtain it; however the Treaty of Kiel on January 14, 1814 granted him the throne of Norway. On February 5, 1818, he took the name Charles XIV, King of Sweden and Norway. The dynasty he founded still reigns in Sweden. Charles XIV died at Stockholm on March 8, 1844. His reign was one of uninterrupted peace, during which his kingdoms experienced great material development. He was succeeded by his son, Oscar I of Sweden and Norway. Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 116 07.00 Senior staff meeting. All crewmembers have been cured and back on duty. New orders for a new mission have been received. Day 116 13.25 The USS Vertigo is on its way to the Beta quadrant to bring supplies to Griuna III. There is no word yet from the sickness on Griuna III, but the medical teams aboard the USS Vertigo are standing by. Day 121 23.06 The USS Vertigo is in orbit of Griuna III. President Dslova of Griuna III arrives aboard. Lieutenant Commander Matz accompanies him to Commodore Slater. Dslova is very thankful for the cure for the sickness as a small part of the Griuna III population has been effected by the sickness... Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg The USS Iceberg, General Crow in command, the USS Systran, Captain Jacobsen in command and the USS Credit, Captain Herolin in command, are in orbit of Fatana II, where the population is victim of an epedemic sickness. All contact with the local population has been lost. The medical staff abaord the starships in orbit fear the worst. It has been just in time that the Starfleet crews have been saved from the sickness, but it is not clear what will happen to the population of Fatana II. Even Atad has no sollution yet. Players: Jan Theys USS Colorado/USS Cinebow Day six Captain Walker and Commander Sonak come aboard the USS Atlantis where an old friend is waiting... Lieutenant Commander Ally Jones... "Permission to come aboard." "Permission granted Captain!" "Thank you commander! It's been awhile, glad to have you on board. It seems Mr Sonak that Admiral Conner gave us one human onboard." "Permission to come anboard." "Granted Sir." It is not clear whether Commander Sonak is happy to see Commander Jones again. But he is a Vulcan... "Thank you Commander Jones." Jones immediately comes to the order of the day. "Admiral Conner requested to Captain T'gor that I should be transfered to the Atlantis. She is a fine ship Sir." "That is something we soon find out. Ensign!" The new officers present themselves. "My name is Ensign Karan, Sir." "Ensign, when Commander Yorlan come's onboard, tell him I'll see him on the bridge." "Commander Yorlan is already onboard. And Captain the Atlantis has three bridges!!! The main bridge of the Atlantis - the battle section has a bridge - and so does the other ship." "What other ship!!!" "The Atlantis has a battle ship aboard." "Were is Commander Yorlan? "Yorlan is on the main bridge." "Thank you. Jones lead the way, and tell me about the Atlantis. Sonak, this will be interesting." "I believe it will be." While they walk through the corridors of the new ship Ally Jones explains. "Captain if I my, the Atlantis is a DREADNOUGHT class starship. As you can remember the DREADNOUGHT class first in service on stardate 7306.09. Since last year the federation has been working on the new class dreadnought class starship." "The Atlantis." And Sonak seems to develop a sense of humor. "I told it would interesting." Jones continues... "The ship has three sections, main - battle - rescue. The ship in lengh is 750 meters in overall - 250 meters breadth overall meters - 75 floors - 45 floors crew only. The Atlantis has a crew of 2.511 - Max. Safe cruising speed W/F 11 with emergency speed up to warpfactor 13. Weapens: main phasers 15 - on all sides of the ship / 10 photon torpedoes / quanton torpedoes 10 on each side. Walker seems to be surprised. "Is there more!!!" "Yes captain if you have." "Just take me to the bridge, Sonak I will look over the ship sometime later today." "We will captain!!!" Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier USS Alice Cooper For Ambassador Jas Stevens every day looks like the next. He is still nursed in some kind of hospital, but he doesn't know where or what has happened. He is not allowed to speak with others, except for the nurses and doctors who treat him. Aboard the USS Alice Cooper-B time does not pass like time passes for Jas Stevens. While Stevens has already experienced 4 days of hospitalisation, aboard the USS Alice Cooper-B only 4 hours have passed. It is as if the search for Ambassador Stevens has just begun. Scans of the planet continue, the search aboard the ship is not interupted. Captain Kalee will not give up easily. Players: Crew of the USS Alice Cooper Ovion (Hirogen Hunting Vessel) The Tok'ra and Hirogen have successfully destroyed two basic replicators. Replicators are built from small intelligent blocks, but when the blocks fall apart, the replicators stops to function. As hunters the HIrogen understand that before they will hunt a prey, they have to study the prey. The information they receive from the Tok'ra concerning the replicator comes from a species called Tauri. The information is clear that the replicators can only be destroyed by taking them apart, with violence if necessary. Apparently mechanical weapons are best, but at a certain level the small building blocks that make the replicator can only be seperated by a certain wave. The Hirogen are experts in weapons. The have several anti-replicator weapons ready. But as there are no replicators detected in the entire region, so a search begins. Ships are sent out to different directions. A few days later on one of the remote planets Horkan's team visits the local population of Lukarnad. When the team is searching for replicators on the planet the stargate of the planet is activated. One man steps through the gate while the Hirogen take their weapons. But the man does not seem to have hostile intensions. He only has a staff. He starts to speak with a clear loud voice. "Hallowed are the Ori. People of Lukarnad. I am a prior of the Ori. You must obey and worship the Ori. I will return to your planet within a month. You will then make a decision that you will worship the Ori. If you do not you will be cursed..." The prior of the Ori turns around, activates the stargate and steps through. A moment later he is gone and the gate is deactivated. Players: Thomas van Rhee Earth Alliance Starship (EAS) Terradyne With the president maybe even unwilling at the other side and under control of the Draak, FMAR Draan Marr will have to create some serious tricks to convince the troops that the president has become a danger. That will not be easy as FMAR Draan Marr needs prove. A Minbar team has met with the President of the Interstellar Alliance, but there is no report yet. At the same time a small group of human civilians comes together in a small forgotten town in a small wooden house. They have a mission... Players: Steve Elliot DS2 RPG General Status Report September 2007 USS Earth The USS Earth is in pursuit of the USS Peru, a ship stolen by the Maquis. When the USS Earth catches up with the USS Peru, it looks like the Maquis ship is a ghostship. No life is detected. Commodore Steichen gives her orders. "We will board the USS Peru and investigate what has happened. It could be a trap of course... But it also could give more information about the sickness. We may risk powering up the USS Peru again even without knowing what has happened on that ship? A small away team under command of first officer Commander T'Lok beams aboard the USS Peru. Power is completely down. So the away team makes its way through the Jefferies tubes all the way to the bridge. There are no bodies to be found. It seems the Maquis have vanished. And there was nowhere they could have escaped to. On the USS Peru bridge Chief Engineer Lieutenant Commander Sora Mil starts looking at the logs and he sees what has happened. The Maquis Captain of the USS Peru made his last entry... "I don't know what has happened. My memory is failing. I remember being on our new planet. We were sick. The federation came with a starship. Then we all died. I can't remember if the Federation killed us. No we were sick before they came. Maybe we should have accepted their helmp. But we could escape from the Federation starship USS Earth. Last night some of our people have disappeared. My memory is failing. That is why I make this log entry. I can't remember how many vanished last night. A few hours later there were only 27 of us left. Now there are only 9. I am tired. Our doctor has found out that everyone who falls asleep disappeares. We are keeping ourself awake. But we can't keep this up for ever. I really want to go to sleep, but I know I will... What was I saying?" The log ends here. The away team searches all the logs, but cannot find anything out of the ordinary. There is only one thing left to do. The away team hurries to sickbay. When the team enters they activate the EMH. "Please state the nature of the medical emergency. Ha you are still awake. Hey you are not part of this crew. You are Federation. Ha, you will not hear anything from me. I will tell you nothing." So the EMH has no answers. Even analysing the EMH program doesn't reveal anything about the Maquis. -------------------------------- At the same time aboard the USS Earth Commodore Steichen is called to sickbay by her Chief Medical Officer, Doctor Zaffo Numbo. Apparently the EMH has automaticly activated and it has asked for Commodore Steichen in person. The EMH only has some kind of explanation for the Commodore. "Commodore Steichen. You wanted to know what happened to the Maquis aboard the USS Peru? Have a look." The next moment Commodore Steichen loses her balance. Everything has become pitch black. The last thing he hears is the voice of Doctor Zaffo Numbo... "Commodore are you...???" -------------------------------- The next moment Commodore Steichen wakes up in a small hut. The dry air is overwelming. She coughes. Slowly she gets back to her feet. She has not broken anything. What has happened? She doesn't know. Slowly she starts walking very carefully. She touches the walls of the hut. They seem real. "Computer end program." Nothing happens. She is still in this stone hut. There are only a few very small windows high up the walls, enough to let through some light, but to high to look through them. Slowly the Commodore walks to the door, opens it and looks right into the bright sunlight, which almost blinds her. She steps out into what looks like a street, with small houses. This is a small village. Apparently this village is located in the middle of a desert. There are a few people. An older man walks up to her. "You are not supposed to be here. What are you doing here?" When Commodore Steichen looks, she sees a tall man dressed in animal hides like the other people in the street. Apparently the man is only armed with a walking staff. He seems to wait for an answer... Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 The USS Energy is approaching the USS Toronto. There are no life signs on the USS Toronto. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove orders Captain Robbert Stow, in command of the USS Energy beam an away team over to the USS Toronto to investigate the situation. Captain Stow does not always listen to his first offcicer and leads a small away team to the USS Toronto. Upon arrival there is nobody to welcome them. Slowly the away team makes it through the corridors to some cargo bays, shuttlebay and eventually the bridge. The USS Toronto seems to be deserted. Commodore Van Nieuwenhove at Starbase 369 is informed about the situation. But at this time it is to early to come to any conclusions. The away team start looking at the logs and then they see what has happened. The Captain of the USS Toronto made his last entry when he was sick and close to his death. "...and probably... will gain some strength. I don't think I am going to lake it. Only 16 of 672 are still alive... but barely. Doctor Drana passed away ten minutes ago. It is not her fault we are in this situation... We will gather in the conference room... I have to go now. I can only commend my crew that... Wait a minute... Before I forget. The crewmembers who passed away disappeared. We don't know how. We did not find a trace of any of them..." The log ends here with the Captain of the USS Toronto fall of his chair. A few minutes nothing happens. Than the image becomes black. The away team searches all the logs, but cannot find anything out of the ordinary. The sickness came and killed the crew. There is only one thing left to do. The away team hurries to sickbay. When the team enters they activate the EMH. "Please state the nature of the medical emergency." "I am Captain Stow in command of the USS Energy. The crew of this ship has been killed by a sickness. The bodies have disappeared. Can you explain what has happened?" But the EMH has no answers. He has deactivated itself when there was no one to do that for him. -------------------------------- At the same time abaord Starbase 369 Commodore Van Nieuwenhove is called to sickbay by his Chief Medical Officer, Doctor Commander Enrico Jaladano. Apparently the EMH has automaticly activated and he has asked for COmmodore Van Nieuwenhove in person. The EMH only has some kind of explanation for the Commodore. "Commodore Geert Van Nieuwenhove. You wanted to know what happened to the crew of the USS Toronto? Have a look." The next moment Commodore Van Nieuwenhove loses his balance. Everything has become pitch black. The last thing he hears is the voice of Doctor Enrico Jaladano... "Sir, sir are you...???" -------------------------------- The next moment Commodore Van Nieuwenhove wakes up in a forrest. The fresh air is overwelming. Slowly he gets back to his feet. He has not broken anything. What has happened? He doesn't know. Slowly he starts walking very carefully. He touches the trees. They seem real. "Computer end program." Nothing happens. He is still in this forrest. The trees, the grass, the mushrooms, flowers are very real. Slowly the Commodore walks to the noise he hears. It is a small river. By the river there are two women with buckets taking water from the river. When the buckets are full they start walking, followed at a distance by Commodore Van Nieuwenhove who tries not to make a sound. After about a 20 minutes walk the two women walk out of the forrest. About 500 meters away is a small village. That is where the two women are heading. Just as the Commodore wants to make a decision to follw them or not, he hears a voice behind him. "You are not supposed to be here. What are you doing here?" When Commodore Van Nieuwenhove turns around he sees a tall man dressed in animal hides like the two women. It does not belong here. This drone is programmed to alter things." But at that time the USS Recon engineers en medical staff have put the unknown Borg on the operating table and are ready to start the necessary procedures. Commodore Mechels is called to have a look. When he comes in, the Borg drone on the table calls him. "Commodore Mechels. You wanted to know what happened? Have a look." The next moment Commodore Mechels loses his balance. Everything has become pitch black. The last thing he hears is the voice of Jedi Master One... "I told you so." -------------------------------- The next moment Commodore Mechels wakes up in a small wooden cabine. Everywhere there is dust and it seems there has not been anyone in this cabin for many years. Slowly Commodore Mechels gets back to his feet. He has not broken anything. What has happened? He doesn't know. Slowly he starts walking very carefully. He touches the walls of the cabin. They seem real. Slowly he makes his way to the door, opens it and walks outside. Commodore Mechels is standing on a large field of grass. Not far away there are more cabins. This looks like a small town. "Computer end program." Nothing happens. He is still in this small town. The cabins, the grass, the mushrooms, flowers are very real. Slowly the Commodore walks to the noise he hears. Some other people, dressed in animal hides, are walking between the cabins. They seem to be involved in a discussion. Commodore Mechels walks towards them, but when he is almost there, he hears a voice behind him. "You are not supposed to be here. What are you doing here?" The prior speaks about a book called the Book of Origin and the path to enlightenment. But most important the prior speaks of the Ori who created human life in their galaxy and ascencion as a reward at the end of the life of a follower. The simple population of Lukarnad are thrilled by the words of the prior. He seems very wise and what he says makes good sense. Even Horkan the Hirogen hunter seems to be interested which is not to the linking of his Tok'ra Symbiont Tar who does not trust the Ori prior. Even as the Tok'ra have no intention to take over their host against their will, Tar warns Horkan that he cannot follow the Ori. But Horkan is especially interested in ascencion, life after death. The struggle inside Horkan where the symbiont Tar slowly is taking over, comes to an end at the moment Tar has to recognize that Horkan is mentally a much stronger host than any humanoid the Tok'ra have ever met. Tar is not able to convince Horkan to let the Ori go. Horkan seems to get obsessed with these Ori. While the other Hirogen leave the planet, Horkan stays with the peapole of Lukarnad to worship the Ori. The Ori prior is very pleased, but Tar is not and feels he has no other choice than to stop this madness once and for all. Tar kills himself. Four unknown man, believed to be Narn, were arrested in a hotelroom at the four star Allnights Hotel. They had several heavy weapons, granates, and plans of governmental buildings in their room. The hotel manager had no idea that his hotel was used as a base of operations for these kind of criminals. Just when he wants to walk away and leave Commodore Steichen by herself, a bright flash of light almost blinds him. Suddenly there is standing a man in the same uniform as Commodore Steichen just standing there waving his hand. "Mon Capitaine. I am at your service. Although I am not sure what you want from me. This is not my doing. Oops and you are not a Captain, but a Commodore. I have to do something about that." Q's rank insigna changes to Admmiral. He grins. He seems very pleased. Q turns around towards the village. "I recognise this place," Q shouts like a spoiled child. "Yes yes. I know what this is. Isn't it magnificant? Beautiful." Then Q turns to Commodore Steichen. "How long are you going to stay?" But Commodore Steichen doesn't have any answers. She only has questions. It is as if Q has read her mind... "But Commodore, or may I call you Christine... Don't you know where you are? Din't anyone tell you? Oh I see. You were sent here by the Lorems. Nasty little creatures aren't they. It surprises me that they bother with you. Usually they don't interfere in minor species." Q pauzes. He waves and invites Commodore Steichen into the village. While the two walk in the main street of the small village. The people living there look up and watch the two walk by. "Oh yes," Q teases, "They are wondering how you got here." Exciting isn't it? How do you feel? You should be honored. Not many minor species are sent here. Don't look at me like that ma chère. I have not been here for a few millennia. Look at this place. It has not changed at all. They really are fine architects." Q always has seen to be far above any life forms, but now he has something positive to say about these Lorems. Commodore Steichen still has a lot of questions. "All right. I'll answer only a few of them," Q says. "First the Lorems are not at all like the Q Continuum. They are certainly not omnipotent. They are just very small and they have some influence on the size of things, life and they are very curious." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 369 Commodore Van Nieuwenhove finds himself no longer aboard his starbase, but in a forrest close to a small village. "You don't know? How strange. Didn't you get a message? Oh of course you did not. You are not supposed to be here. How strange. Who would have sent you here? Anyway..." the man continues. "We are the Lorems. My name is Klabak. I take care of the safety of our people. Although you are no danger to us, the way you got here is more than strange. I wonder who sent you here and why. Can you tell me what happened before you were here?" Commodore Van Nieuwenhove tells about the sickness, his starbase and what happened to him in sickbay, without revealing any secret information about Starfleet or the Federation. "I see," says Klabak. "So you have no idea how you got here. You are human aren't you? Well than let me explain who we are. The Lorems are... let's say in comparison of humans... microscopic life forms with almost omnipotent capabilities. One of us, not me, has sent you to our world. We have to find..." There is a small group of Lorems approaching. The Commodore recognizes one of them as one of the two women he was following earlier. That woman is shouting. "That is the one. He was stalking us. Arrest that man. He is an outsider and he was stalking us. I recognize him. Get him. I want a trial." The small mob is getting closer and it is clear what they are going to do. Now Commodore Mechels is walking through the village most people just go along their business. The older man with the staff follows the Commodore as he proceeds on the main street. This is clearly not a holodeck program. It must be somthing the Borg drone has done to him. But how does he get out of here and back to where he belongs? There is really no sign of technology. Lots of lives have already been lost. Strange things is that the people who did not survived, first appeared like ghosts and a few hours later completely disappeared completely. The sickness is considerd extremely dangerous. Aboard the USS Walang the discussion between senior staff members is about the sickness. Chief Medical Officer Lieutenant Doctor Asdria Lopez wants to inject everyone with the programmed nanites to be sure the sickness will not strike. But Chief Engineer Lieutenant Varo Mensa does not like the idea. "Why inject people now already. The USS Walang is 50 thousand lightyears away from the Federation. It is unlikely the sickness will travel all the way up here. Nanites are microscopic machines and I don't like them swimming around in my blood for no reason." "Hallowed are the Ori. Horkan, I am a prior of the Ori. The Ori have a reward for you. You are a true believer. Please come forward." The Prior points with his hand where Horkan has to stand. Then he opens the gate. Strangely enough the fire behind the gate is not hot at all. One flame comes through the gate... "We are the Ori." The flame comes around Horkan. Horkan feels as if something takes over his body. It is a strange feeling but he also feels he gets strong powers, like he is invincible. But there is a cost for these powers. Horkan has to follow the path the Ori have set out for him. The Ori flame gets back to the others. The gate closes. Horkan receives a staff like the other Ori. He knows what to do with it. On his way out of the castle like building he passes several mirrors. When he looks at himself he sees that the color of his skin has turned grey. He opens the gate of the castle himself, walks down the road to an open field. A moment later he is transported to an Ori ship, which sets course to a small planet somewhere in the Alpha Quadrant. Klingons don't like invaders... "Hallowed are the Ori," Horkan greets the Klingon citizens and explains about the Ori, the Book of Origin and the path to enlightenment. "Origin is the way to salvation." But the Klingons do not see the purpose of worshipping the Ori. More than thirty of them are armed and shout battlecries. Then they attack... Horkan hits his staff on the ground. A shockwave surrounds him throwing the Klingons are thrown away through the air as if they were pieces of paper blown away by the wind. "There is only one path. The power and glory of Origin." Horkan watches as the Klingon warriors fly 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 meters away. "When the Continuum first met the Lorems they were not really fascinated. The Lorems were just another lower life form. But millenia later one Lorem did something that draw the attention of the entire continuum. One Lorem had stopped time. His name was Snortam. His name is still known among the Q. But as you can see," Q points with his finger, "They are a bit boring... But so is the Continuum." Q pauzes. He looks around as if he searches for something. "Where is he? I have to come here more often. Apparently Q cannot find what he is looking for and it seems strange that an omnipotent being not gets what he wants. "Yes yes. I know what you are thinking. Actually we don't tell the Lorems what to do. We are guests here." Q addresses one of the Lorems and asks him something Commodore Steichen does not understand. But again she notices something strange. Q seems to be very polite. Of course the Lorems brought her here, so their power must be significant. Q returns and waves. Steichen follows him in another street. At the end of the street there is a structure, larger than the other houses. Q lets Commodore Steichen enter first and follows right behind her. Now it becomes clear why this house is bigger. Part of the house seems to be a lab. In the lab an older man is working. When the two visitors he looks up. He seems to recognize Q immedtiately. "So Q I hope you have not come to ruin things again in my lab, so I warn you not to touch anything. If you do, you will suffer the concequences. And what do we have here? Oh I remember. You are one of the humans. I don't think you are ready yet for the next level of exsistance. I know, I know, I had no right to get anyone of you here, but you are here now." Q puts his hands in the air. "She is all yours Snortam." He turns to Commodore Steichen. "Or do you want to stay with me ma chere? There is so much more to explore in the universe. Please join..." Suddenly there is a man next to him in the same Starfleet uniform with the Admiral rank pips on his collar. "It is busy today. You are not the first one who calls my help. I was right after all. Humans cannot live without me. They still really need guidance. I know what place this is, but I have not sent you here. Are you going to stay long or is this just a short visit? This is a beautiful place. I can show you around if you like." But Commodore Van Nieuwenhove doesn't understand. "But Commodore, or may I call you Geert... Well they didn't tell you much did they? I can imagine that you haven't the slightest idea where you are. And then, oh yes, they call humble...moi. So let me explain in a way your little brain can understand. You were sent here by the Lorems. Yes yes, you have never heard about them. Well I don't understand why they would bother with an inferior species. Come, follow me." Q starts walking, followed by Commodore Van Nieuwenhove. People in the streets stop what they are doing for a minute to look at the two strangers and then continue their business. Q seems to have the time of his life. "Wonderful. Fantastic, look at the details. I couldn't have done it better myself. Actually it is a great honor the Lorems have sent you here to their community. I know, they don't look rather primitive in your eyes, but don't let that fool you. Anyway, I think there must be more of you humans here. I met one already. I wonder what the Lorems want from you." Q keeps on talking and everytime Commodore Van Nieuwenhove wants to ask something Q seems to ignore him. It is strange that Q has an admiration for these Lorems. Q is nothing but arrogant, selfish and on top of the universe. Finally Q turns to the Commodore and is ready to answer a question, but as always he has some silly, stupid, tricky conditions. "I will only answer a few questions. I don't want to spoil your surprise. Before you ask any questions, let me tell you that the Lorems are not omnipotent like the Q. They are just very small and they have some influence on the size of things, life and they are very curious. Wait a minute. I said the same thing to someone else today. Is Starfleet taking over the Lorem universe or is it vice versa." Q laughs aloud. It is clear Q wants to play with Commodore Van Nieuwenhove. It probably will be like one of his famous trials... Most of the people in the village stop with what they are doing and follow the approaching man. "So here you are Commodore. It took me some time to find you. I apologize. Hello Q. I think we have not met yet. I have heard all kinds of... stories... about you and the continuum. But first things first. Let me introduce myself Q. I am Master One." "Yes yes, I know who you are," says Q and waves his hand. "Why don't you tell me why you are here." "Oh Q, always so... I am not here for you. I am here for Commodore Mechels.," Master One speaks while he turns to the Commodore. "Commodore let me introduce the Lorem. They are microscopic creatures. They have the power to create a simmulated world in their world. That is where we are now. I can take you back to your ship if you like. Captain Hendriks is to far away from Starfleet Head Quarters to ask for advice, but she informs Starfleet about her decision. The Trsterts are very helpful. They agree to analyse all the data concerning the sickness. Lieutenant Commander Jennifer Calhoun is sent out with the USS Striker to Relay StationKirie 1. She brings supplies, but also some volonteers to releave some officers on the relay station. With the advanced USS Striker, a gift from the Trsterts, there is only a short flight to Kirie 1. "ETA Ensign?" Commander Calhoun again is surprised about the speed of this ship. "One hour, six minutes Commander," is the answer of the officer at the helm. But he looks again at the display. "Commander, we have a visitor. Correction multiple visitors... Kiries Commander, 35 of them. They are welcoming us in their territory. Contact in 17 minutes." A small swarm of Kiries approaches the starship. To everyone's amazement do the flying creatures, who now fly side by side with the USS Striker, match the already extreme speed of the advanced Trsterts ship. It is still unclear how the Kiries can do that. Almost an hour later the USS Striker arrives at Kirie Station. A huge swarm of Kirie welcome the ship like they meet old friends again. The USS Striker stays for 48 hours at Station Kirie. Then it is time to say goodbye to the Kirie and the personnel aboard the station. When the ship departs, about 30 Kirie escort the Striker all the way to the border of Kirie space, where a last goodbye sets the USS Striker back to Scaton Federation where Captain Hendriks waits with news about the sickness. The Trsterts have recognized the sickness as an action of a species called Lorem. The Trsterts have met the Lorem several times before. I am Karen Mitchel. I am Assistant Chief Engineer on the USS Zimbabwe. I was just working in engineering and then suddenly I was here." Before Commodore Van Nieuwenhove can say something. One of the Lorem steps closer. "Q... This is not really how things should be done." "But he asks for it. I must grant his wish don't I?" "Q, we know you are no good. You can be our guest as long as anyone asks you, but if you mess up things..." The Lorem is interupted by Lieutenant Commander Karen Mitchel. "Can someone get me back where I was? Now... Please." Q waves his hand. Lieutenant Commander Karen Mitchel is gone. The Lorem continues to speak. "Q this is not a playground. Why don't you go an play somewhere else? My patience is not..." Again the Lorem is interupted. A Borg drone has appeared a few meters away. Before the Borg drone can do something the Lorem and Q continue their discussion. "Q, I asked you to stop." "Moi? I didn't bring this drone here." Before the discussion continues the Borg drone addresses Commodore Van Nieuwenhove. "Commodore, I am Three. I am looking for more people like you who are trapped here. Are you ready to go back?" Strange. This Borg introduces himself as Three not Three of Six, or Three of Twelve, or Three of anything else... But the Lorem does not agree. "No, no. He..." and he points towards Commodore Van Nieuwenhove, "...has to get the choice of staying with us and become one of us." Apparently Q does not agree and the Borg drone called Three does not agree either. And so the discussion restarts as if Commodore Van Nieuwenhove is a kind of object they are trying to buy or sell. Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt Commodore Mechels asks Master One to bring him to the Lorem leader to make contact and ask what they want. Q follows the two to a small house. When they enter a man adresses Q. "So Q. Here you are again with one of those humans. I hope you have not come to ruin things again in my lab, so I warn you not to touch anything. If you do, you will suffer the concequences. And what do we have here? I don't think you are ready yet for the next level of exsistance. I know, I know, I had no right to get anyone of you here, but you are here now." Master One explains. "Commodore, the Lorems are microscopic creatures. They have the ability to use other species as host to explore the universe. But they can also get creatures in their realm to discuss something with them, or to look for new people. Yes you can become a Lorem. But remember. If you agree to become a Lorem, there is no way back. Not even I can bring you back where yo belong." Q interupts. "I cannot do that either. The laws of the Lorem are very strickt. If you want my advice, I wouldn't do it." But Master One has an open mind. "Commodore, being a Lorem is an incredible way of live, but it can be boring as well. I will respect your choice if yo want to become a Lorem. One Starfleet officer has already become a Lorem. It was her choice and we respect that. But yo know the consequences. There is no way back. Is there anything else you want to ask the Lorem, please do so. Let me introduce Snortam to you.
