DS2 RPG General Status Report January 2013 USS Earth/Starbase 44 A dorment Borg ship is a nice oportunity to get to know them a little better. Admiral Steichen has made a decision. She sends Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo back to that one last Borg ship to gather as much information about the Borg objectives as they can. Other Starfleet teams are also sent to this last Borg ship. But those teams only see a dorment Borg ship. Apparently the Borg drones are either not impressed with so many Starfleet officers present and they do not consider the Starfleet presence a threat or there is a major malfunction on the entire ship. At several data nodes Starfleet personnel tries to intercept communications from the drones on the ship, but also from the ship to the Borg Collective. But there is no communication at all, at least nothing can be found. It is as if the Borg of this particular ship do not communicate in any way. After almost an hour of investigation finally a certain Captain John Wainis reports to the other teams a communication has been found between this Borg ship and Starbase 41. There are Borg drones on Starbase 41. Aboard Starbase 41 red alert is initiated. Internal sensors do not detect any Borg presence on Starbase 41. There is no choice but to search the starbase corridor by corridor, room by room. Or is there another possibility? Players: Christine Steichen 369th Fleet Aboard the USS Mexico the crew has followed the battle with the Borg. The flagship of Admiral Van Nieuwenhove is on its way to the last remaining Borg ship. Maybe there is something aboard that ship which gives the Federation an tactical advantage against the Borg. The Admiral gives his orders. "We will send a team aboard the last Borg ship to investigate everything about the Borg we always wanted to know but were afraid to ask." Other Starfleet teams are also sent to this last Borg ship. Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang Trsterts General Fruktra suggests to his compagnons to investigate more about the Borg. So Captain Hendriks lets the Trsterts investigate the Borg prisoners to find out what the Borg objectives are. They will use the Borg prisoners to contact the Borg King/Queen to demande they stop their activities in Federation space. Captain Hendriks herself supports the idea. "Starfleet can't do much and we do want to know who and what the Borg are planning." Trsterts General Fruktra explains to Captain Hendriks what the situation is. "We have tried to contact the Borg Queen, but there is no answer. Our technology indicates there is no Borg Queen. We cannot connect. We have discovered the plans of the Borg. They want to assimilate a Reman professor Dalen. This professor has knowledge to create changes in gravitational forces all over the galaxy. If the Borg get their hands on this technology, they would have a serious weapon in their hands. We have found this professor on STarbase 41, but the Borg are also present. We think the professor has already been assimilated. If so the knowledge of the professor is known to the Borg. We could do some more tests to find the Borg Queen, but we are rather pessimistic." The officers in the briefing room look at eachother in disbelieve. Most of them shake their heads. One of the officers can only make the obvious remark. "It is a trap sir. They hacked into our communications array again. They did it before." The Colonel asks his officers to join him in the communication center. There they contact Unit 19. There is no answer. After several attempts there is still no answer. The battleship in orbit is asked to establish communications with Unit 19. Finally there is an answer. At the Unit 19 command post the unit 19 commander answers that he doesn't know about any prisoner nor defector. But he reports his unit is surrounded. "It seems they are waiting for something sir. We are right on it. It will take some time, but we will get there." After a few days there is some disturbing news from Captain Wainis. "Admiral, Apparently this Borg ship has activated a selfdestruct. Do not worry. This Borg ship will not explode within within 48 hours. Apparently the system is gathering enough energy and that is a slow process. We can shut the system off, but that has some concequences. So there is another thing. We have found files on all Starfleet Admirals in the floating memory, even about you personally. But the self destruct system takes power from all systems, and if we shut it off, all those files will be lost as we need that memory to do so. We have not read any of the files. It is not our place to do so. We cannot download these files. Maybe you should transport over to read these files for yourself. There is still at least 48 hours." Players: Christine Steichen 369th Fleet/USS Mexico Apparently the Federation has recovered from the Borg threat very rapidly. Aboard the USS Mexico Admiral Geert Van Nieuwenhove gives his orders. "We will go to Starbase 88 withour fleet and wait for orders from Starfleet Command. We will also keep the Drones. They can be an advantage later." The three drones aboard the USS Mexico are examined. But before the ship arrives at Starbase 88, there are no significant discoveries. Starbase 88 is under command of Captain Lovam Moskvitch. Captain Moskvitch is only the temporary commander of the starbase. Actually he is the commanding officer of the USS Chevy, a very old Constitution-class starship. But Captain Moskvitch would never give up his ship. So when Admiral Van Nieuwenhove arrives, Captain Moskvitch is more than happy. After a short breefing Captain Moskvitch wishes the Admiral the very best, transports to his ship, wich jumps to warp almost immediately. A few hours later Admiral Van Nieuwenhove is contacted by Fleet Admiral Jeck Lenden. "Hi Geert. How are you? No this is not a social call. You know the Romulans are on the path of war against the Federation because they think we caused a disturbance in gravity forces in Romulan space. Ridiculous of course. But nevertheless we are sending ships to the border of the neutral zone. I want to send you as well, but I also need a commanding officer for Starbase 88. So to make my dillema a bit easier, I will let you chose. What do you say?" Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt It is going well. The Federation will be busy with the Romulans while the Borg can take adavantage of the situation and assilmilate some Federation starbases. But a starbase is not enough. There is a small planet with a large Federation colony. "Why don't we assimilate this planet?" The Borg King has already made his plan. "We can use it as a base to coordinate your efforts." And so while Starbase 688 is very slowly assimilated, the same three Borg drones who started the process leave Starbase 688. They set course to a small planet in Federation space designated by the Borg as Alpha. There is a colony of 200 Federation scientists on Alpha but most of them are spread over a wide area in small groups, so the drones are able to assimilate the colonists before they can send a message about the Borg threat. The assimilated scientists take over the Federation mission so even the Federation is not aware the Borg now have taken over an entire planet. Always look for the source and judge afterwards if necessary." But the first results of the investigation confirm that the events in Romulan space have been caused by an installation on Starbase 41. Nobody can believe that the Federation would do such a thing, but the installation is there. Somebody in the Federation must have done this. There is no other way... Unless... Then two Trsterts scientists find some Borg residue on the installation. They come to the conclusion that the Borg built this installation and used it before they were defeated. Although the Federation Council is thankful for the Trsterts help, they are not convinced that the Romulans will believe that, even if it is the truth. The Romulans are invited to come look for themselves, but the Romulans decline. Apparently the Romulans just want to use this incident to start a war. More proof is needed... "General, we are clear and free to navigate." New orders come in from Starfleet Command. "USS Iceberg you will go to the border of the Romulan neutral zone. Remember the Romulans are not exactly friendly with the Federation." Halfway on route the USS Iceberg detects an energy signature. The signature is Romulan. Once again the Admiral is in command of a huge Starfleet facility. But the starbase h&as a serious shortage of personnel. And then there is something else. XO Captain Sigrid Johansson addresses her commanding officer with a strange report. "Sir, I went over the Starbase 88 personnel files. Most of them I already had an interview with. Most of them want to get of this starbase. Wasn't it strange that Captain Moskvitch left in a hurry. I don't know but I don't know many captains who would refuse a command of a starbase. Most of the personnel I had a little chat with, say this place is haunted. There are things happening here for which nobody seems to have an explanation. It could be an alien presence, but we already scanned the entire starbase to look for that. We didn't find anything. We only have been here for a few days, but until now we didn't find anything unusual." As the day continues nothing really happens, but when the Admiral himself makes a tour on the starbase, he sees that there is a lot of tension among the crew. Most of them are very nervous. Some tell the Admiral about ghosts or blurry phenomena, but none of them can explain or describe exactly what they sawwat they saw. At the end of that day when the Admiral gets ready to go to sleep, in his quarters he sees a flying piece of cloth shining brightly, flying through his room. When he grabbes his tricorder it is gone. After checking the internal sensors the sensor logs do not show the phenomena the Admiral has seen. It is as it never happened. The next morning when Admiral Van Nieuwenhove logs in into the main computer, the first thing he reads is a request for transfer and another one and... 95% of the starbase personnel wants to get off the starbase. There are even crewmembers who don't even care where the transfer leads them. As long as they are getting off it is ok. Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt It is going well. The slow process of assimilation of the Federation is not noticed. Only a few Borg drones are put aboard Federation facilities, masking their biosigns. Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang To prove that the Federation has nothing to do with the rupture in gravitational forces Captain Hendriks has a plan. "We will travel to Romulan space to investigate the rupture in gravitational forces. The Kirie, Trsterts and Zolo are not members of the Federation so they might get permission to investigate in Romulan space without being attacked by Romulan forces. After that we will travel to Borg space and take a few Romulans with us to investigate this further. So we send 2 parties: one to Romulan space, one to Borg space. We always want to investigate before going to war." And so it is done. The Trsterts send a scoutship to Borg space and a ship to Romulan space where they are welcomed by a Romulan delegation. The rupture in gravitational forces which occured in Romulan space clearly has a Reman signature. But the Trsterts take the Romulan delegates to Borg space where an installation is discovered... The Romulans are very happy to get help. The Romulan Commander tries to explain he only followed orders and that he personally does not believe the Federation was the cause of the disturbance in gravitational forces which occured in Romulan space. Besides the one who invented the technology to do such a thing was a Reman... Professor Dalen... "And when there were disturbances in gravitational forces in Federation space the Federation did not go to war. I have already told my superiors this, but some of them might have some kind of hidden plan. I am not one of them." The information this Romulan Admiral saw was not real, but it was based on the information I had given the Romulans. They just wanted to test it whether it could be true. Of course the Romulans figured out that I gave them false information. Apparently the Romulan command had used this Admiral Jarok or whatever his name was to find out any plans of the Federation. It did not end well for that Romulan defector..." Admiral Henry Merowing stands up and thanks Admiral Steichen for the coffee and for showing the Borg files. Before he leaves he only has one thing to add. "You know what pleases me most? The Borg not only know about me, but they can be fooled as well. I think that is a huge advantage we can use against the Borg. Until next time Admiral Steichen." Next visitor in admiral Steichen's office is Admiral Larry Freens. The Borg files indicate Admiral Larry Freens wanted to start a war with the Cardassians. Apparently Admiral Larry Freens is not ashamed of what he did. But he is an old man now and very close to retirement. "Have you seen them. They cannot be trusted. When they supported the Dominion I knew it. We should have whiped them out at the time we had the chance. It is good they have lost so much in the last war. for the moment they are no threat, but they will be in the future. I am sure of it..." He is taken away by Starbase 44 security officers to the brig where he will wait for his court-martial... Last visitor in Admiral Steichen's office is Admiral Jeck Lenden. The Borg had files on all Starfleet Admirals but the Borg did not have files on Admiral Jeck Lenden. When Admiral Steichen asks about that Damiral Lenden shakes his head... "I wouldn't know. If you say you found files in the Borg database on all Starfleet's finest except me, I feel a bit... overlooked. Why would the Borg have files on Starfleet Admirals anyway? I don't see that as a tactical or any other advantage. If they want something they just assimilate it. I don't understand why the Borg Collective could be interested in individuals. Maybe you should find out. I admit Starbase 200 is not as fancy as yours, but after twelve years it has become home. Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo will bring me back where I belong. Thanks for the cake. Oh and by the way... Call me Jeck..." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 Aboard Starbase 88 95% of the crew wants to transfer anywhere else. Most of those think the starbase is haunted. "You can see the fear in their eyes sir." "OK. 95% of the personnel of Starbase 88 wants to leave. I will approve only the transfers for those personnel we can really miss." Admiral Van Nieuwenhove has made his decision. Several Starships, including the USS Carry start tranporting the crew of Starbase 88. With a minimal crew, all volonteers, Starbase operations is continued. The next additions to the crew will take about three weeks. A week later the crew of Starbase 88 is running things without to much difficulty although they do not have much sleep. There are no more stories about the starbase being haunted until... Admiral Van Nieuwenhove is doing an inspection round with Captain Sigrid Johansson. When they arrive in sickbay at first everything looks all right, but just when they turn around to leave the doctor shouts. All three of them are watching a small bright cloud moving above one of the biobeds. Another much bigger cloud comes through the wall and joins the smaller cloud. The smaller cloud makes a funny noise. Both clouds fly through the wall and disappear out of sickbay. Internal sensor logs did not register the phenomena... Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang After the extreme advanced Trsterts take some Romulan delegates to Borg space and a copy of the installation built by the Reman professor Dalen is found, the Romulan delegates know The Federation is innocent. The Federation might be able to help." A few days later the Romulan delegates are welcomed by the Federation Council. Although a part of the Federation Coucil members still do not trust any Romulan, it is beacause the extreme advanced Trsterts are with these Romulans they do not protest. Players: Steve Elliot DS2 RPG General Status Report August 2013 USS Earth/Starbase 44 Admiral Steichen calls Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo and give them new orders. "Find out everything you can about Admiral Jeck Lenden. Why do the Borg have no file on him, while they do on all other Amirals? What is his secret? He could be under Borg control... Try to find out why the Borg have files on Starfleet Admirals." The next days there is nothing out of the ordinary on Starbase 44. The Borg are studied more, but there is no more important news. On the fourth day Captain John Wainis reports. "Admiral, Captain John Wainis for you on a secured channel. I will patch it through to you in your office." There is a moment of silence. "Admiral Wainis here. One moment please. This should do it. Right. Admiral, the only thing we found out is that dmiral Jeck Lenden was at the battle of Wolf 359. We have found some more data on Admiral Jeck Lenden, but it is classified by the Federation Council itself. We are able to break the encryption and access it, but that will be detected one way or another very fast. There will be not enough time to cover our ways. And if the files are sent to you, you will be exposed in a matter of minutes. If you order us to do this we will, but we need to know it soon. There are some other ways to keep us out of the picture, but I do not recommend it. The Federation Council has taken a lot of trouble to hide all information " Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 Admiral Van Nieuwenhove has seen the "ghosts" for himself now. Captain Sigrid Johansson who is standing aside the Admiral, is the first one to speak. "So it is true. There is no myth. The least we can say is that they did not seem to be hostile." Doctor Commander Enrico Jaladano agrees but he has some concerns. "This must be a living creature of sme kind. We should investigate whether this creature can be a danger for our health." Admiral Van Nieuwenhove has the last word. "Now we know this is real. But what is it? We will investigate further before we let more crewmembers aboard our starbase." With the small crew there is on Starbase 88 a search is started. Everyone runs double shifts. Captain Sigrid Johansson reports every encounter. At the end of the day there have been 7 encounters with the creatures. There are at least nine of these creatures aboard Starbase 88. After three days it is clear there are no encounters between 23.00 and 04.00. Apparently these creatures need a rest too. The more the Starbase 88 crew meets the creatures, the more data comes in. The creatures are pure energy and seem to have the same cusiousity than the starfleet officers who scan them. A few days later the crew is already used to have the creatures around. Some of the creatures even come and follow the crewmembers doing their jobs. Captain Sigrid Johansson, always suspicious, has some remarks. "They seem very friendly, but if I didn't know any better, I would say they are spying on us..." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt Very slowly and very carefully, the Borg are assimilateing Federation facilities. Apparently the federation has not yet detected the Borg presence on those facilities. On the Unicomplex in orbit of the Borg planet Alpha The Borg King is making new plans to strike at the Federation. But not all is going as well as expected for the Borg. Although there is peace with the Romulans the latest threaths have woken up Starfleet to be better prepared in case another possible enemy pops up. New technology is already on the drawing board. Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang After the Romulan delegates have been transported to the Federation Council it is time for the Trsterts and their friends to make new plans. Captain Hendriks considers her mission accomplished. "We will return to Yu space thousands of lightyears away. One can't meddle everywhere." And so it happens. The advanced Trsterts engage the engines of their ship. Halfway between the Federation and the home region of the Trsterts, a small ship at drift is sending out a distress call. Aparently the entire crew has abandoned the ship before they sent it into the middle of nowhere in space. "Captain, according the ship's logs the crew of this ship has left this ship and sent it away in a straight line until the engines have failed. It happened only ten minutes ago." Aboard the ship is a samll spider like robotic creature just walking around. The Trsterts recognize the robotic creature. It is a "replicator", a robotic creature. "Captain it is possible this replicator was a threat to the crew. That is most likely the reason why they have left the ship. We should be cautious." The Trsterts and the Zolo agree. "Replicators come in all forms. Some are indeed very dangerous. We have met some of them before, but we did not have problems with them." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 311 13.45 Chief of Security Lieutenant Commander Matz has brought the case of Gyrt from the planet Acamariut to Commodore Jeffrey Slater's attention. The former Borg drone Gyrt does not want to go home. They say they would not be welcome at their homes and their own people will probably kill them because they think former drones will bring the entire Borg Collective to their homes. Day 311 19.45 Lieutenant Commander Matz suggests to drop of these former drones from the planets Acamariut, Lonaria, Blenassa and Tsaque on an uninhabited planet where they can start a new life. The former drones agree. Commodore Jeffrey Slater agrees. And so it is done. While his crew brings him up to date, at the other side of the wormhole the scientists have improved there ships with a new sensor array. Although there is peace with the Romulans the latest threaths have woken up Starfleet to be better prepared in case another possible enemy pops up. Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier Ovion (Hirogen/Ori Hunting Vessel) Horkan has taken some time to train his replicator pet Besje. Besje has grown and is now producing offspring. It only takes a few weeks for Besje to replicate a serious army of replicator soldiers. Now the question arises... Who is going to be first victim of the new replicator army? Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report September 2013 USS Earth/Starbase 44 Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo have found out that there is a lot of classified information about Admiral Jeck Lenden. They caanot get to the data without being exposed. Admiral Steichen may have a sollution. She has a thought. "I will ask the Lorem what to do. Maybe they can and will help me with the case of Jeck Lenden." Only a few minutes later a small glowing light appears in Admiral Steichen's office. "Christine, I am ambassador Jolen of the Lorem. You have called us. How can I be of assistance?" Admiral Steichen explains about Admiral Jeck Lenden. "I see. You would like to use your Lorem abilities to find out more about Jeck Lenden. We can't stop you with that, but I would like to tell you some things you have to know before you proceed. The one you know as Admiral Jeck Lenden is a Lorem. Actually that is not correct. He was a Lorem. He is expelled thousands of years ago. The Lorem leadership has punished him because he interfered with to many species. So he should live a natural live as a humanoid. Apparently Jeck Lenden was able to keep at least a part of his Lorem abilities. As he has already been convicted, he cannot be put on trial again. He has lived among the humans for more than 900 years. Before that he has lived among many other species. He must have made so many friends in your Federation that everyone seems to be happy to help him. We think he did not use his Lorem abilities to make these friends. We presume it is not so, as we have not seen it. If he did, we would have been able to prevent it or undo it. So that is not a problem. Jeck Lenden is not the only Lorem we had to bannish from the Lorem community. But these cases still are an extreme exception." There is a small pauze. "Concerning the Borg... Within Starfleet Jeck Lenden has been able to save the humans from the Borg. He was at Wolf 359 infiltrating the Borg ship. He helped to destroy it. He was there on Earth on April 5, 2063. That is how he knew the Borg would be a serious threat to the humans or the Federation in general. Actually Jeck Lenden is a good Starfleet officer. Although I must say he uses some unconventional methodes to achieve his goals. that is why he made his files classified by the Federation. Not even the Federation Council can access these files. It is not certain there is anything in those files. We could have a look, but we presume these files are completely empty... Besides our laws forbid us to interfere." There is another pauze. "You have to remember that Jeck Lenden did not use his Lorem abilities, but he did use technology which is extremely advanced in comparison with any technology the Federation will have in the next 800 years. Jeck Lenden had thousands of years to gather this technology. This is nothing the Lorem have forbidden. Maybe that was a mistake, but things are as they are. We will not change it." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 Most of the crew on Starbase 88 is getting used to the pure energy creatures on the starbase. But what do these creatures want? What do they need? Are they dangerous? Admiral Geert Van Nieuwenhove has listened to the suggestions of his senior officers. "We will not get more personnel aboard Starbase 88 before you have been able to communicate with these creatures." So it is up to the scientists to face the challenge of communicating with the creatures. They build a device capable to detect any waves, elecronic, sound, brainwaves... The first tests are rather positive. All kinds of emitted waves from the energy creatures are detected and mapped. Only after a few days Doctor Commander Enrico Jaladano already has a full report. "We have added the data into the universal translator. We are sure we now can communicate with the creatures. The only thing we have to do is test it... Admiral Van Nieuwenhove has the honor to test the new additions to the universal translator. It works. One of the bigger creatures turns to the Admiral. "Found you have way to speak to us. Amazing this is. We are Joju. We have a nest here. As soon as our young are grown to maturity we will leave." When it is explaiend to the Joju that they are living on a starbase of the United Federation of Planets, the Joju start appologizing. "Time we ask... Three of your weeks. Gone we are then. Stay can we please?" Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt It seems to be unknown to the Federation that the Borg are assimilating Federal facilities. The Borg do this very slowly and the assimilation seems to go unnoticed. Aboard the Unicomplex in orbit of the Borg planet Alpha The Borg King seems to be patient and cunning. This must be a change of tactics of the Borg... Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang Halfway between the Federation and the home region of the Trsterts, a small ship at drift is sending out a distress call. There is nobody left aboard, except for a "replicator", a robotic creature. Captain Hendriks has some more questions before she makes a decision. "We will let the Trsterts make suggestions about what we should or can do. They seem to know about it more than we do. After that we'll decide what to do about the abandoned ship." The leader of the Trsterts delegation aboard the ship gather some of the other delegates who are interested in the Replicators. Captain Hendriks of course is also present with some of her officers. "Rather a long time ago in another galaxy there was a species which was very advanced. They studied everything they encountered as explorers. But they tried not to disturbe any other species which were less advanced." One of the Kirie joins in. "But there were some of them who were getting bored and although it was a risk they tried to make the perfect life form themsleves, believing they could be gods." One of the Yu continues. "And for a moment they were indeed the creators of a new life form. An artificial being like we have seen on this abanded ship. But things got out of hand." Everyone agrees. One of the Zolo continues the story. "Oh yes. They made a mess of it. That one Replicator became two. Two became four. Four became eight. I guess you get the picture." Some of the group speak as if they were there. One of the Musks, the most silent of the group continues. "The creators of the Replicators were attacked by the Replicators. There weapons did not have any effect and eventually they had to flee. Once they had left the planet they thought they were safe, but the Replicators had ambition." The only Hunanan in the group is next to make clear somebody got into serious trouble. "Then the war began. The Replicators grew and made new units for specific tasks. In a very short time they multiplied in an exponensial way, building space ships, facilities and even large cities, cosuming all resources they could find. At the end of the war there was finally build weapons which could defeat the Replicators, but it was to late." One of the Trsterts makes the conclusion. "I don't know whether there still are people left of who made the Replicators. But last thing I heard was that the Replicators are dorment in their own galaxy as there is nothing more for them to do. all resources have been consumed. Any traveler through that galaxy is as good as lost. So if you want to travel to another galaxy you better chose another one." All agreed. And everyone found it strange that this one replicator had been encountered alone on a ship. The regular behaviour would be that this one Replicator would multiply and then the ship would be consumed as resources to build more Replicators. Everyone now looks at Captain Hendriks. She has not yet said anything... Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 316 12.45 All liberated Borg drones have been transported to a small planet in the Yuma System. Scientists specialized in astrophisics think it is a supernova. Day 322 14.00 Senior staff meeting with presentation of Chief Science Officer Lieutenant Commander T'Mak. The detected star is indeed going supernova. T'Mak uses the word fascinating several times. But there is a problem. A warp capable society on the sixth planet does not have enough ships to evacuate the entire population. Helping with the evacuation will not be without risk... Players: Nadine Peeters USS Iceberg General Crow is invited by the Romulan Senate. The invitation is personal. "We will except the invatation to go to Romulus." So the USS Iceberg, escorted by the USS Highway and USS Enable are on their way to Romulus. The Voyage to Romulus is a bit... boring. As soon as the Federation ships cross the border of Romulan space they are escorted to Romulus by two Romulan warbirds. The Commanders of the Romulan ships are rather friendly. It is almost unreal... A few days later the USS Iceberg and the escorting ships enter orbit of Romulus. General Crow and Atad beam down to the surface where they are welcomed by Senator Huvon. But apparently Senator Huvon has his own personal agenda as well. "Welcome welcome General Crow. You have saved the crew of a Romulan vessel. We will not forget. But... Before you enter the Romulan senate, I have to tell you something. I am also a member of the Unification Group. Our group does not only want to join our Romulan cousins, but we also want to join the Federation. Please talk to me first before you enter the Romulan Senate. We need your help. I must confess it is not without risk..." Players: Jan Theys USS Atlantis The USS Atlantis, USS Elpaso, USS Arlington and USS Paladin are still trapped in a region of space they have reached trough a wormhole. Day 195 Doctor Selak is looking at Captain Tom Walker. "Captain welcome back to the living. We thought we lost you again!" Walker is more than surprised. "Again!!!" "Yes, we lost you after a few moments you awoke days ago. You had a small coma for two days. Since them we have been monitoring your condition ever since. You seen good awake, a good light meal will do you some good." But Captain Walker seems to have other things on his mind. "Can you have Mr Sonak meet me here in sickbay. And doc do tell anyone else!" ===================================================================== Moments later in sickbay Sonak enters. "What can I do for you doctor?" Selak points at the Captain. "Not for me Mr Sonak, but for the captain." Sonak "The Captain!!!" "In here Mr Sonak, if you have a moment." "Captain, you are awake." "I have been for the last two days. You are the only one that knows. I like to keep this for the time being." Sonak looks concerned. "Then we have a problem, we are about the reach the wormhole." "How much time?" "10 minutes captain." Walker seems to be determined. "I will be on the bridge in 5 minutes. Have everyone standing by." Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier Ovion (Hirogen/Ori Hunting Vessel) As Horkan's Replicator pet Besje is producing lots of Replicator soldiers Besje doesn't seem to be satisfied. This new upgrade is a perfect umanoid... Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report September 2013 USS Earth/Starbase 44 Jeck Lenden is a Lorem. Admiral Steichen got that information from ambassador Jolen of the Lorem. Jolen also informed Admiral Steichen that Jack Lenden is using highly advanced technology but although Jeck Lenden still has his Lorem abilities, he has not used them. The other Lorem would stop him if he did... The question could be... Who is using who? Does Jeck Lenden use his Starfleet position to infiltrate the Federation and take over with his advanced technology? Are the Lorem really say who they say they are. Maybe the Lorem are just using you too... Admiral Steichen seems to have the urge to find out. "I will talk to Jeck Lenden to find out more about the Lorem themselves." Escorted by Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo, Admiral Steichen travels to the starbase of Admiral Jeck Lenden. The starbase is much bigger than Admiral Steichen expected. The office of Jeck Lenden is filled with artifacts. Most of them are unknown to anyone. Some of them belong to species which lived thousands of years ago, but are extinct. While Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo wait outside, Admiral Steichen enters Admiral Lenden's office. "Admiral Steichen. It is good to see you again. I have been expecting you. As soon as I heard you have been accepted by the Lorem Council. Oh don't look so surprised. I still have some friends among the Lorem. Although I cannot say who as it is not appreciated they talk to me. You understand. Oh well... Let me start at the beginning. I am Jeck Lenden. Yes that is my real name. I don't really know how old I am, but I am born as a Lorem. The Lorem are not omnipotent but we use our Lorem abilities, but not to have influence over others, but more to study and to observe. The lorem have some rules like the Federation's prime directive. Anyway, when I was younger, I din't care much about those rules, especially when the entire species, or a planet were going to be... I guess you get the picture. The others bannished me, but because this was the first time they did such a thing, they didn't really do a good job. Most of my Lorem abilities I still have. I don't use them. Actually I haven't used any of my abilities for... I don't know... Thousands of years." There is a pause. Jeck Lenden walks to one of the artifacts. Admiral Steichen does not recognise it. It looks like a small box. there is only one switch on it. Jeck Lenden touches the switch. Then he opens the box. Slowly he walks back and shows the open box to Admiral Steichen. There is a stone in the box. The Jeck Lenden speaks. It sounds like he is begging. "The Lorem are not a democracy. It is always a struggle for power. Some of us want to make it more a... democracy. Freedom of choice. Of course within a set of rules. We don't want to destroy the universe. We want you to join us. the only thing you have to do is take this stone out of the box and hold it for a few seconds..." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 The energy creatures aboard Starbase 88, called Joju, have a nest there. They are no threat. Therefore Admiral Van Nieuwenhove does not have to think twice before making a decision. "We will let the Joju stay as long as they want. Maybe we can learn a lot from them. Maybe they will become some kind of ally." After a few weeks the children of the Joju do not have to be protected anymore. They can take care of themselves. It is time to leave. The oldest Joju comes to Admiral Van Nieuwenhove to thank him and to say good-bye. "Species both of us a lot was learned. Good friends you have become. Always welcome you are with us." The older Joju call the younger. The entire group moves through the hull of the starbase and as one bright light they move into space. Only ten minutes later additional personnel is already coming aboard Starbase 88. Apparently stroies are told about the ghosted starbase. But now the ghosts are gone and everything on the Starbase returns to normal. daily routine is kicking in, projects are being set up again, battle drills are executed... But some still wonder... Where did the Joju come from? Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt Ensign Shean Bover is walking through corridor 11A. He is on his way to cargoroom 14 to pick up some new parts for the portable generators. Little does he know about the Borg Unicomplex in orbit of the Borg planet Alpha not that far away from the starbase he is walking on. As a young Ensign, Shean always got the jobs the other, senior officers do not want to do. Walking 20 minutes to a cargoroom to pick up something which is not really needed immediately. Why do they make these starbases so big? Ensign Shean Bover is not happy. His dream of becoming a starship captain is far far away. He walks around the last corner. here it is. With his head down he walks into cargoroom 14. The door behind him closes. He takes a few steps. Did he hear something. "Hey is anybody here? Is there someone?" He hears the sound behind him. He turns around. It is to late. There is a Borg drone standing behind him. Ensign Shean Bover will make an excellent drone... Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang It is a bit strange that everyone looks at Captain Hendriks to hear her opinion about this Replicator. Maybe all those extreme advanced species find Replicators a normal thing, as they know much more about these Replicators. Captain Hendriks has indeed something to say. "I want to study this Replicator and destroy it afterwards, but before doing all that, have a meeting with all who can make decisions and ask for their opinions." A meeting is called. The conference room is rather full. Everyone has his opinion about the Replicator. Some want to leave it alone. Some want to study it, because it is very strange that just one Replicator is on a deserted ship, without taking over that ship. There must be something wrong with its programming. The main conclusion is that one Replicator properly contained and isolated, should not be a threat. And most are curious why this one Replicator is here in the middle of nowhere al by itself. Why has it not replicated itself? So a team of Trsterts scientists prepare a special room to put the Replicator in. A few minutes later the Replicator is aboard the ship, completely secured. The lead Trsterts scientist asures Captain Hendriks there is no danger. "The Replicator is a robotic artificial creature. It is build out of building blocks. The building blocks themselves cannot function on their own. So if the building blocks of a Replicator are seperated it stops to function. The Replicators can be a danger to species who do not have the technology to seperate their building blocks. We have that technology and continue to upgrade that technology. We have found out during the last centuries that the Replicators can adapt to new technologies to seperate their building blocks. It is their only way to survive. If we ever want to eliminate all Replicators we have to find a way to hit them all at once. As long as their is on of them left, it starts all over. At this time we have a partial analysis. We have a location of the origin of this particular Replicator." The inhabitants call their planet Trium. They are very greatefull for the help of Commodore Slater and his crew. Evacuated people will be dropped of on an inhabitable planet of a system safe from the supernova. Day 326 14.23 Scientists have calculated that evacuating the population of Trium will take at least 3 months. It is still unknown exactly when the star will go supernova. There is no choice. The evacuation continues. Day 331 09.18 A neibouring species has arrived with nineteen ships to help with the evacuation of Trium. Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report November 2013 USS Earth/Starbase 44 It is clear to Admiral Christine after meeting with Admiral Jeck Lenden that this man is probably dangerous to say the least. She wants to persuade the Lorem to have Jeck Lenden back in the Lorem comunity. She calls the Lorem Ambassador. "He could be a danger for the entire universe. Within the Lorem comunity the Lorem can keep an eye on them easier before something goes wrong." The Lorem Ambassador seems to think about Steichen's proposal, while Jeck Lenden tries to protest. But apparently the decision has been made. The lorem Ambassador addresses Jeck Lenden. "Come'on Jeck. We are all better of with you in our community." It is not completely clear, but it seems the Lorem Ambassador winks when he talks to Jeck Lenden, giving the impression he is one of Jeck Lenden's followers. Most likely the Lorem Ambassador will deny a connection with Jeck Lenden. But before Christine can ask anything the two Lorem change into bright lights in front of her... Slowly the two lights move away through the wall to a new destiny. But then to Christine Steichen it is as if she hears someone sing an old song... ... I did it my way. ... It is time for Admiral Steichen to return to her own starbase. Halfway on her way to Starbase 44 aboard the USS Earth the SS Trader is at drift. The crew apparently has left the ship, but the escape pods are all still in place. Strange enough there is one survivor. A team is send over, but the survivor doesn't know anything, not even his name. He doesn't know what happened or where he came from. A few minutes later he is already adressed as John Doe... Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 The Joju have left Starbase 88. Admiral Van Nieuwenhove in command of the starbase has new orders concerning the Joju. "We will leave the Joju go in peace. She sees Harrison step of the transporter pad on his way to the Captain's ready room. The young Ensign herself walks to the turbolift to go to her quarters. She will not be on duty again in 48 hours. She really can use the rest. At this moment she considers herself very lucky she does not have to share her quarters with anyone else. On her way to her quarters she passes a hatch of a jefferies tube that is not completely closed. She opens the hatch to see if anyone is in the tube. Nobody hears her scream... Young Ensign Liona Revel feels a pain in the neck. First she thinks it is some kind of drug making her go to sleep. But she is not going to sleep. A Borg drone stares her right in the face. He doesn't smile. He doesn't cry. He is just doing what he is supposed to do. A few seconds later Ensign Liona Revel can hear the drone's voice in her head. More voices... She fights it... The energy and resources needed to produce these human Replicators is available. Horkan has new plans already. Eventually he will have an army of human Replicators, which are not different from any other human to all scans. A few days later after Replicator AG45 is activated, one of those plans is set in motion. A few weeks later a Starfleet officer by the name of Lieutenant Commander Ergo Repson is entering the breefing room of Starbase 9. Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report December 2013 USS Earth/Starbase 44 Aboard the SS Trader a man is found The rest of the crew seems to be vanished. The John Doe has lost his memory. Admiral Steichen decides. "We will Take this john Doe aboard our ship and bring him to Starbase 44 where he can be examined. I am sending a team aboard the SS Trader to get the ship back to Starbase 44 as well." And so it is done. Later when the USS Earth resumes regular duties John doe is examined by the medical staff aboard Starbase 44, but the doctors can only come to one conclusion. John Doe is in perfect health. But he is not human. When john Doe is asked about that, he grabs one of the doctors and demands to be set free. Behind a panel hidden for John Doe is a Security officer. He fires his phaser. John doe should be on the floor, but he is still standing there as nothing has happened. The security officer yells a warning. "Watch out he may be a Borg." But John Doe proves him wrong. He walks through the nearby wall as if there is no wall. A moment later a station wide message calls on all crewmembers. A picture of John Doe appears on all monitors. "Attention. Intruder alert. If you see this person report to security but do not engage him yourself. This man can be a danger. This is not a drill." The message is repeated several times. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 The USS Latent has picked up a survivor on a ship at drift. This John Doe does not remember anything. There is no trace of the rest of the crew. When asked what to do with John Doe and his ship, Admiral Van Nieuwenhove takes a decision wich he might regret later... "We will let the crew of the USS Latent take this John Doe aboard and bring him to Starbase 88 where he can be examined. We will send a team aboard the ship to get the ship back to Starbase 88 as well." "Aye sir." And so it is done. A few hours later the USS Latent arrives at Starbase 88 towing the unknown ship. John Doe is transported to sick bay where he is examined. After some scans the Doctor can only come to one conclusion. "Sir. There is physically nothing wrong with John Doe, but I think that the events on his ship have caused him to block all thoughts baout it. It will take time for him to recover and remember what happened, but I cannot say how long it will take. We could ask him if he agrees to a Vulcan mind meld." John Doe of course is not the immediate concern of the Admiral in command of Starbaase 88. But he likes to be informed. A few days later John Doe is already doing better, but none of his memory has returned. The Doctor has found John Doe in the Federation database. John Doe is identified as Lieutenant Guy Goma. Lieutenant Guy Goma has one sister. In the upcoming days at several locations on the starbase equipment appears to be stolen. Suspects of course are the new arrived traders. But they say they are innocent... "Destroy this replicator if necessary." With the mechanical Replicator aboard the Trsterts ship sets course to the origin of the Replicator. The journey is uneventful until a small ship is detected. When contacted the pilot of the ship answers the call. "I am Loenas Mel. I am a small trader. Maybe you can..." But the sensors of the Trsterts ship alert the sensor duty officer. "Captain. This is not a Human. It is a Replicator. Our sensors confirm it." Loenas Mel is a Replicator which took human form. Such replicators are very sophisticated, but according the Trsterts they are not always dangerous. It all depends on their program... "That is exactly why we must talk to him. He is the only one who can help." "I think we should all leave. Everyone who wants to join us can go with us." "And where would we go. There is no place for us in the Romulan Star Empire. I think we must stay hidden until a better time." "We must go before they lock us up in some prison or send us to the Ream mines."
