DS2 RPG General Status Report January 2018 USS Earth/Starbase 44 In the search for the origin of the Nullifier all tricks are used. The USS Goliath and USS Dallas are in a region which statisticly has been hit by the Nullifier more than in any other region. Admiral Steichen approves the USS Goliath plan, which does not really present immediate danger. "I will let the USS Goliath be the bait. There is no real danger with a generator aboard and this way a trace to the Nullifier can be discovered. But it could take a lot of time before the USS Goliath is hit by the Nullifier." While the crew of the USS Goliath starts the perhaps long waiting, the USS Dallas moves away but will still be close enough to assist the USS Goliath if necessary. In a different corner of the sector the USS Rapidum escorted by the USS Main have completed the complete scan of the area. The planets are not inhabitable and some of the stars do not even have planets. These ships are on their way to the Jenats System when a small ship makes contact. It is a trader by the name of Hudn who offers to help with the search for the Nullifier. He says he has very old books that are very usefull for this purpose. It is not clear how this trader knows about Starfleet's search for the Nullifier. And his help is not for free. He asks that his son would be accepted at the Starfleet Academy. There is one problem though. His son did not pass the entry exam of the Starfleet Academy. And then... "Starbase 44. This is USS Dallas. The USS Goliath is hit by the Nullifier. We have understood there is nobody in danger on the USS Goliath and the crew is already restarting all systems. USS Goliath should be fully operational in a few minutes. We made scans and we have found a trace from where the Nullifier has been activated. Our long range sensors go not far enough so we have to move. The trace is in one straight line so it sill not be that difficult to follow it, even when it disappears. One moment. The USS Goliath has restored warp power. We are in business. Admiral I ask permission to follow this energy trail." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 Admiral Geert Van Nieuwenhove has decided very quickly not to accept the Ferengi offer. The Ferengi leave because there is no profit in staying around Starbase 88. But there is something else. "I give permission to our officers in the Delta Quadrant to build a small observation outpost with the Klingons to monitor the Borg. This outpost will have a cloaking generator. The Borg will not see it." It seems a wise decision. The Borg are still the most dangerous enemy in the galaxy. Looking and listening to the Borg in the Delta quadrant has advantages. Especially when the Borg cannot see you. While the observation outpost is almost operational the Klingon ship Ber'ta travels unseen through the Delta Quadrant. The ship has Federation officers and Klingons aboard. The cloaked Klingon ship detects an older Borg ship that was hit by the Nullifier. All power of the ship is offline, all Borg drones are inactive. Apparently the Borg Collective cares about the incapacitated ship as 20 minutes away there are two Borg ships on a direct course to this incapacitated ship... If the crew of the Ber'ta wants to do something, they have to do it fast. Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective It is clear somebody will attempt to free Seven of Nine from the Borg Collective. Maybe it is that Admiral Janeway again or that Maquis criminal Chakotay... the only thing the Borg know is that there was a message... Orders for the Collective are very specific. "We will try to find out from who this Federation message was and from where. They must be close." And the Nullifier... We will try to find out why the Federation has this new technology which they used to eliminate Borg ships." But it is not certain the Nullifier is a Federation weapon. One thing is certain. A org cube has been hit by the Nullifier not far from a planet called Undo II. All power is lost. The cube can be salvaged, but the Drones are all dead. Twe Borg ships are on their way. They will arrive in 30 minutes. But that is not all. After an investigation it becomes clear the message to Seven of Nine was sent from the planet Undo II. There is a population of six million. It will take some time to find out who sent this message and it is not certain they will still be on Undo II. Maybe the Borg should proceed with caution. A message is sent to Seven of Nine from Undo II and there is a Borg ship completely dead in space close to Undo II... Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang/Starbase 100 "Let the Species 8472 bioship help with the search of the Nullifier. Let them help. They are an enemy of the Borg and maybe almost certainly wait to know how these Borg ships are incapacitated." It is clear Admiral Hendriks is in favour of accepting the help of Species 8472. The cause of the Nullifier seems very much hidden. There is still the possibility that this is a natural phenomena. But even the extreme advanced Trsterts don't take any chances. Although Admiral hendriks' hips and facilities have a defence against the Nullifier those defences still take a few minutes to start up. In that time the ships could be vulnerable... The first traces towards the origin of the Nullifier are a dead end... Until... A group of ships accompanied by Kirie warriors have discovered a large alien cargoship which is clearly hit by the Nullifier. The ship is in orbit of a planet called Giun, but there is nobody aboard. After a quick scan of the area, it is clear the crew of the cargo ship has been able to leave the ship in their escape pods to the planet Giun. Shortly after there is contact with the crew of the cargo ship. They say they are of a species called Klorellen. Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 504 06.13 The transporter-like signal on Skonnora III has increased. On the same location have appeared sixty humanoid life forms. Day 504 06.16 Commodore Jeffrey Slater in command of the USS vertigo tries to contact the aliens on Skonnora III, but there is no answer... Players: Nadine Peeters USS Atlantis While the crew of the USS Atlantis, USS Elpaso, USS Arlington and the other ships of Captain Walker's task force are changing course and preparing for their new mission, there is a new threat for the Federation. The phenomena is called the Nullifier. When a starship or facility is hit by the Nullifier all power will be gone immediately. Without power there is also no life support on a starship and the danger is real. Although the ships of the Federation have counter measures, there is still danger. The cause of the Nullifier seems very much hidden. There is still the possibility that this is a natural phenomena. The first traces towards the origin of the Nullifier are a dead end... Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report February 2018 USS Earth/Starbase 44 The plan initiated by the USS Dallas and USS Goliath has worked. everyone is happy there is progress in the search for the Nullifier. The two ships receive orders directly from Admiral Steichen. "Do not wait. This is our chance. Get the USS Goliath back on its feet as fast as possible and let the USS Goliath and USS Dallas follow the energy trail. You can send some other ships to join the USS Goliath and USS Dallas while they are on their way. The USS Goliath and USS Dallas start their run following the trace of the Nullifier. Two other ships are send to back them up, USS France and USS Kirkenes. Although it seems like a simple mission, tension aboard the ships rise. The captains and crews realise this could be it. The trace is still easy to read. In other sectors more ships are still searching their regions for traces caused by the Nullifier. But none of them have the same success as the USS Goliath and USS Dallas. After a week of traveling at high warp in a straight line sensors detect a star directly on the route of the USS Goliath and USS Dallas, wich is identified as the Droen Star, discovered by an Earth probe in the year 2314. The star has no planets but there seems to be a strange radiation coming from the star... Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 The Federation and Klingon crew of the IKS Ber'ta only has a few minutes to do something on a Borg ship that was hit by the Nullifier. But there is a risk. Admiral Van Nieuwenhove doesn't seem to have a choice. "I order the Federation and Klingon crew of the Ber'ta to leave the Borg ship. There are more Borg ships on their way and they cannot risk being detected." The IKS Ber'ta moves away from the Borg ship. The trip is not for nothing. Two other Borg ships come closer and restart the damaged ship. The three ships leave together. The Ber'ta follows the three Borg ships, but after some time the Klingon Captain decides to stop the pursuit because there is nothing interesting to see about these Borg ships. While the Klingons help the Federation in the Delta Quadrant, in the Alpha Quadrant more and more ships seem to be in trouble because of the Nullifier. Some scientists think the Nullifier does not have one source, but many. In the middle of the night... Admiral Van Nieuwenhove wakes up in his quarters. It seems colder than usual. When he tries to address the computer nothing happens. Even the lights cannot be activated. The Admiral has to open his door manually. When he enters the corricor he sees his First Officer rushing towards him. "Sir, there is good news and there is bad news. The bad news is that we are hit by the Nullifier. The good news is that we will be back up and running in 45 seconds. And sir, we have a trace of the Nullifier. We can have him... it... now. We have to move fast before the traces vanish..." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective Several Borg ships have again been hit by the Nullifier and lose all power. But most of them can restart themselves without to many problems. Those few which cannot help themsleves, are helped by other Borg ships. But the Nullifier still is a problem. And then there is the question of Undo II. A message was sent to Seven of nine from Undo II but it is still unclear who of the six million inhabitants has done that and how... Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang/Starbase 100 The Klorellen cargo ship has to be repaired. All power is down. "Get the Starbase back up and running check all systems. The rest is not important." The special designed generators are started up. Technicians and engineers check all systems, the hull of the starbase, the main computer, even the gym. After only 30 minutes it seems that Starbase 88 was never hit by the Nullifier. All systems are operational. A young Lieutenant called Lody, reports. "Sir our sensors still detect some traces of the Nullifier. I advice to send some ships to follow these traces." "Assemble at least one third of your fleet to speed up to the coordinates of the USS Goliath and USS Dallas. Approach the Droen star from all sides. Nothing will be allowed to escape." Only minutes later 60 ships set course to the Droen star. Only a few days later the Droen star is surrounded by ships of the 44th fleet. After a very thorough investigation by about 98 scientists it is clear that the unusual radiation is a result of the Nullifier. And after more investigation, not far from the Droen star a trail is found that could lead to the origin of the Nullifier. Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo only use one ship, check all Federation databases and find several small fleets in the Gamma Quadrant in search of the Nullifier. And it seems these small fleets are getting closer to the cause of the Nullifier. The two officers travel through the Bajoran wormhole and at high speed towards the location which is believed to be very close to the Nullifier itself. The small group under command of Captain John Wainis ends up on a planet called Extra II. On Extra II there is something happening to the population... "Admiral, Captain John Wainis here. We are on the planet Extra II. The entire population is on the market places, in the streets, in bars and public places looking at big screens. They seem to be in the ban of a game. The game is rather simple. at the start of the game there is a large group of competitors representing their tribe. They have to eliminate eachother. But there is a catch. We have discovered if one of the candidates misses a shot, something else in the universe is hit. This could be a planet, a starship or anything else. We are convinced that is the Nullifier effect we have seen. The people here on Extra II call it the Nully games and they have to watch this game. If they do not, they can get into trouble. The people who have informed us about this obligation were whispering and moved away immediately into the crowd. I think we have found what causes the Nullifier. But we ahve not yet found the Nullifier or this gaming arena yet. We will follow the signal of these screens. The signal has to come from somewhere. There are more Federation fleets getting closer to the cause of the Nullifier. One of those fleets is under command of Admiral Hendriks. But Admiral Van Nieuwenhove, in command of the 88th fleet doesn't want Captain Li King losing time. "I don't want to place ships of the 88th fleet under command of Admiral Hendriks and we will let Captain Li King and his small fleet continue on their way. They must be very close now. Admiral hendriks is still rather far away." And Captain Li King in command of the USS Takehaya and 7 other ships is getting closer and closer to the cause of the Nullifier. The Slymak have entered our galaxy with only one purpose. They will destroy all life in this galaxy with huge ships called Galaxy Killers. These Slymak Galaxy Killers are traveling to the center of the galaxy where they will send out a shockwave to destroy all life in this galaxy. One of these Slymak Galaxy Killers is enough to do this. Currently there are more than a hundred of these Galaxy Killers on their way to the center of the galaxy from all directions. There is no way to stop them. We don't think even the Borg cannot stop them. As soon as all life has been exterminated they will start taking all resources of the galaxy. At this time many Slymak scout ships are mapping this galaxy. We have engaged these scout ships, but we lost all battles. Even a Klingon fleet of more than 50 ships tried to destroy a Slymak scoutship, but was destroyed in less than two minutes without even making a scratch on the Slymak ship. Some very advanced species we have been in contact with have advised us to evacuate the galaxy. To do this we have built a gateway portal, a super stargate, we are already using for evacuation of the galaxy to mainly Galaxy Messier 2, where we can start a new life. You are free to join us. Please note, the Federation Council doesn't see the Slymak as a threat, but they are wrong. We have seen the Slymak threat with our own eyes. The Federation Council does not seem to do anything about it. We will keep listening to the Federation communications. The order for Master One is to follow the Slymak ship and gather as much information as he can. It seems that only the force might provide us with an answer." "We also will evacuate the entire Borg Collective to the Messier 54 Galaxy, which is the closest. We will not take any chances. At transwarp speed this journey will take about 60 days. New technology awaits and will be added to the collective. If done carefully planned and hidden we can assimilate many fugitives who arrive." We will use small assimilation teams to scout for bases and colonies with skeletoncrews. It is a perfect moment for assimilation when more and more leave." While the Borg Collective assembles the fleet to leave the Galaxy, the small Borg fleet, under command of Master One is still scanning the Slymak ship. But their scans reveal nothing. Some Borg ships are on deep space missions and will join the Collective later in Messier 54 galaxy. The Borg seem to think that everyone is running from the galaxy, but in fact nobody is running. The Borg seem to be the only species that is leaving the Galaxy... One of the Borg ships on a deep space mission is Cube 6642. For Cube 6642 the border of the galaxy is still far away. When Cube 6642 passes by the very remote Federation colony called Dopra Colony, they do what the Borg do best... "We are Borg. You will be assimilated to service us. Resistance is futile." We are not able to destroy all those..." Everyone is looking at the leader of the Trsterts delegation, who usually speaks for all. Everyone is silent for a few seconds. The Leader of the Trsterts delegation shakes his head when he starts to speak. "We have a Slymak threat in this galaxy. We are all in extreme danger. There is no life aboard. We could destroy a part of those Slymak ships, but not all of them. There are simply to many of them." The Kirie and the Yu can only agree. The leader of the Trsterts continues. "There is only one thing to do. We must evacuate our people from this galaxy. I will contact my government and alert them about the Slymak threat. Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report November 2018 USS Earth/Starbase 44 The Slymak threat is something that apparently is not on the agenda of the Federation Council... Admiral Steichen has some questions. "This is complete chaos. What is happening here? Is the Klingon ambassador right? Is this Slymak threat and their galaxy killers indeed real? We will make a plan to defeat these Slymak." Admiral Steichen returns from Earth to her starbase. On her way she consults with her officers to come to a plan to deal with these Slymak. Most officers agree to find a Slymak ship first to study it. If these Slymak are indeed dangerous and destructive a plan can be set up accordingly. Aboard Starbase 44 a message is received from the USS Oregon. The USS Oregon is in pursuit of a Slymak ship. They are waiting for orders. A few days later the 44th fleet joins the USS Oregon. "Admiral, we have tried all kind of scans to determine how this Slymak ship is built, but our sensors cannot penetrate the hull of this Slymak ship. We have no results. We were just preparing to go closer. It could help." As soon as the USS Oregon starts speeding up the Slymak ship fires some kind of missile. The explosion that follows results in half the ships of the 44th fleet are at drift and the other half is heavily damaged. Just as the Slymak ships is ready to fire again, a huge alien ship apears out of nowhere. It fires on the Slymak ship, destroying it. A moment later the 44th fleet is contacted... "I am Colonel Bier in command of the Orange battleship Liberty. Our ship is the last ship of the planet Orange in this galaxy. Our species has evacuated to another Galaxy. We were on our way to do the same. As you can see we can destroy Slymak ships, but because we are completely outnumbered, we cannot destroy all the Slymak Galaxy Killers. So we are leaving. If only one of those Slymak Galaxy Killers reaches the center of this galaxy, all life in this galaxy will be destroyed. Although that still takes about 25 years, I advice you to evacuate this galaxy as soon as you can. As you can see your technology is no match for the Slymak. The choice of course is yours. That is none of my business. Please be more carefull in the future. Don't underestimate the Slymak. They will destroy all life in this galaxy and there is nothing you can do about it. Anyway. Good luck." Without waiting for an answer or even a thank you, the ship of the Orange speeds up and disapears... Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 Admiral Van Nieuwenhove is at Earth. "I have lost 21 ships which were attacked by one of those Slymak ships. They didn't even make a scratch on that ship. Only one of our ships was able to retreat and escape. It was heavily damaged. I don't know about you, but it seems we have an enemy in this galaxy worse than the Borg. And we already had serious problems with the borg. This is worse, I tell you. I will order my remaining ships to pick up their crew's family and evacuate through the gate at Deep Space 2 to the Messier 2 Galaxy." "I also lost some ships, destroyed by a Slymak ship. We must evacuate this galaxy, but we must first build bigger and more ships. If we have to evacuate at least we can evacuate more people..." "We have been in bad situations before. Are they stupid? That is not your problem. Assimilate these Federation people of the Dopra Colony and their facility. Gather more intel. This lack of knowledge is strange." But the Borg also want to investigate further if there is a posibility to defeat these Slymak. The Borg think Master One is ready to have a little attack on the Slymak Scoutship just to test its... While the Federation people of the Dopra Colony are assimilated by the Borg, there is no more information revealed to the Borg. These people really don't know anything about these Slymak. While the assimilation of the Dopra Colony has come to an end, Master One has been standing by to investigate a Slymak ship. First thing he sees is that there is no life on the Slymak ship. Apparently Slymak ships are automated. Some kind of probes. Using the Force, Master One is able to land his small ship on the Slymak scoutship undetected. When he uses his lightsaber to drill a hole in the ship it works at first, but when he pulls out his sword the ship repairs itself imediately. Master One is not able to enter the ship. Master One uses some other tricks, but he fails to enter the Slymak ship. Master One is only able to make a log of the outside of the Slymak ship, not the inside... Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang/Starbase 100 Admiral Hendriks takes the Slymak very serious. "This is extremely serious. But we cannot just leave your starbase and run. We will search for a Slymak ship, investigate this ship and if our ships are attacked we will return fire. If our fleet is in to much danger you will retreat and make another plan. One should know the enemy before being able to win a war. That one ship will give us a lot of data to begin with." The Kirie, Scaton, Trsterts, Zolo, Hunanan, Musks and Yu have warned their governments. The Kirie, Trsterts and Yu decide to stay in this galaxy. They are extremely advanced and they can evacuate from this galaxy any time. But the Scaton, Zolo, Hunanan and Musks who do not have the capability to travel to another galaxy in a short time, have decided to leave the Galaxy to the Messier 2 Galaxy. They have already asked Admiral Arthur to use the super stargate. And they received permission. The Kirie, Trsterts and Yu know about the Slymak and they already had to leave their home galaxy because the Slymak invaded and destroyed all life in their galaxy. But at this time it is different. When the three species combine their forces, they could do something against a Slymak ship. They cannot deal with the entire Slymak fleet though... The Kirie volonteer to search for a Slymak ship. It doesn't take long... A day later Federation ships, Trsterts and Yu ships join the Kirie close to a Slymak ship. When a federation ships closes in to examine the Slymak ship, the Slymak ship destroys the Federation ship with only one shot. The battle is short... It took a lot of damage, wounded and casualties. It is clear that a war against these Slymak cannot be won. There are to many Slymak in this galaxy already. We will have to reconstruct the Slymak ship. Maybe there is a clue on how to beat them." But this the reconstruction of the Slymak ship can take a month... But repairs to the fleet also will take time. There are only two ships of the 44th fleet which did not participate in the battle with the Slymak ship. These two ships are now patroling the region. Aboard Starbase 44 a young officer has a suggestion. "Admiral, we still have these Replicator building blocks. We can build Replicator robots which can work faster in the rebuilding of the Slymak ship. If we program them right and they make copies of themselves fast, maybe this Slymak ship will be built in a few days." There are some other officers who find this to dangerous. When the idea comes up during the senior staff meeting, Admiral Steichen will have the last word on this. Just before the Admiral makes a decision, she receives a call from one of the patroling ships. "Admiral. We have just detected a Slymak ship. It is not on course to Starbase 44. We are not in direct danger. Shall we follow the Skymak ship?" Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 Admiral Van Nieuwenhove doesn't really get much help with handling the Slymak threat, if this threat is real... "This is does not really help. Half of the Admirals want to evacuate, the other half does not. Some even want to fight the Slymak and try to stop them. It seems now that the Slymak threat and their galaxy killers are indeed real. We will make a plan to defeat these Slymak. We will search for Slymak ships, but we will stay at a safe distance. We must remember the Slymak ships seem to be invincible. Maybe we cannot win... We will study them as much as we can to find a weak spot." Only a day later alreaady one of the ships of the 88th fleet finds a Slymak ship. The entire 88th fleet is sent to the Slymak ship, but the fleet stays at a large distance. Scans are conducted but no scans can penetrate the hull of the Slymak ship. Probes which come to a closer distance shut down for unknown reasons. "Sir, we think our probes are disabled by the Slymak ship. It means it hides something and don't want us to see it. But it could also an automated defence system that destroys everything that comes to close." There is not much to do for the 88th fleet in pursuit of the Slymak ship. the ships keep scanning, even with tachyon bursts. Nothing new is learned. "Sir sir! I have calculated the course of the Slymak ship sir. The Slymak ship is on a direct course to the planet Sdaron. There is a Federation colony on Sradon sir. I reommend the evacuation of the colonists. Sir The Slymak ship will be at Sdaron in 6 hours sir." The only problem is that to evacuate the colonists from Sdaron, all ships of the 88th fleet must join in for the evacuation. And even then it will be difficult to evacuate all colonists. The colonists have to be brought to a safe place and that is a planet called Frooin. Frooin is at least a full day away from Sdaron. By evacuating Sdaron the 88th fleet wil have to stop the pursuit of the Slymak ship... "Captain Walker has made a agreement with the Moadib, to except our technology to enter act with Federation systems. The systems are no treat Admiral, if you can check to these disks I can show why!" Walker knows the USS Atalntis is a very special ship. "Thank you Annaka, Admiral, the Atlantis is one kind, lets make it perfectly clear, its design is special one of a kind! This ship is the Leagcy of my parents who designed it, and build it! The Dreadnought Class is new, put in someone command that doesn’t know anything about it! If I take the position on StarBase 99, the Atlantis stay! And I would like to know why me, my father is not the only one who decided this, there is more." Necheyev is not pleased... "Captain!" But Captain Walker continues. "Admiral, you suported me in the past, took me in after ambassador Spock died , and my Vulcan Parents took me after the dead of my parents, and give me this command. With who did my father negotiaton this?" Necheyev knows. "The Chitauri – The Helganites – The Etorians and the Carneaians!!!" But Walker is not happy. "The Chiauri can not be trusted, and you know why, the Helganites are traders, the other two I don’t know! Why StarBase 99?"
