DS2 RPG General Status Report January 2019 USS Earth/Starbase 44 The idea of building and using Replicator Robots to rebuild the Slymak ship is rejected by Admiral Steichen. "We will not build and use Replicator robots. This is to dangerous. We will have our scientists and engineers do the job. We will ask Starfleet to send more personnel to help us building the Slymak ship." And so the rebuilding of the Slymak ship begins. Thousands of pieces have to be put together. A few days later the patroling ships following a Slymak ship at a safe distance still have no news. The only thing that is obvious is that this Slymak ship moves in a pattern. It looks like this Slymak ship is just mapping space. And the waiting begins... After two weeks the Starfleet engineers have a report. "Admiral, the building of the Slymak ship is going good. To complete the entire ship and study it completely, we still need a few weeks. That is why we would like to ask whether you have any priorities. That way we can concentrate on those Slymak systems that could be more important than others. We could build one of those systems in four or five days." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 Admiral Van Nieuwenhove in command of Starbase 88 realises he has to make a choice: saving the Sdaron colonists and discontinue the pursuit of the Slymak ship or let the Slymak ship proceed to Sdaron wich will probably end with the complete erasing of the Sdaron colony. "The Slymak ship needs 6 hours to reach the planet Sdaron. We have enough ships to evacuate the people of the colony on Sdaron to safety, but then we lose the Slymak ship and we have to start a new search." So be it. The ships of the 88th fleet speed up to Sdaron and start transporting the colonists aboard. While the Slymak ship is getting closer and closer, the evacuation is continuing on scedule. Starbase 88 commucications is concentrating on any messages about Slymak. It is becoming clear that there is much more Slymak presence in the galaxy than first thought. In three sectors close to Starbase 88 there are four Slymak ships... Two days later the people of the Sdaron Colony are safe aboard STarbase 88 where they are cared about. The ships are sent out to Sector 14478 to follow the Slymak ship which is detected there. This Slymak ship is on a direct route to Starbase 88. There is no doubt. "Admiral ETA of the Slymak ship is six days. It is coming right at us..." Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective Even the Borg realise the Slymak threat is real. The Collective asks Master One to find a way to enter, sabotage or destroy a Slimak ship. But there is another thing. Why hasn't the Federation done something aboput the Slymak. It is clear that there are Slymak ships in Federation space. Does the federation have a deal with these Slymak, maybe to destroy the Borg? "We will have some drone spies go to Earth alone and investigate why the Federation has not done anything about the Slymak threat." Most of the Collective is on its way to the Messier 54 Galaxy and are safe for the Slymak threat. The first Borg scout ships have already arrived at the edge of the Messier 54 Galaxy. A report from Master One seems to be good news. "This is Master One. I have been able to cut into the hull of the Slymak ship that I am investigating. This Slymak ship cannot be assimilated. It cannot be destroyed by any of our weapons. We can only take it apart by taking off every little piece. It will take some time to do that. Oh yes, before I forget, there is no life aboard this Slymak ship. It seems to be one huge robotic drone... It must have a central computer or something like it. I will try to make a connection with it. If I find it, maybe we can reprogram it, but it is unlikely that it will be possible to do so. But I can try." Far far away on the planet Earth three dorment Borg drones are activated. Disguised as humans they proceed to the main building of the Federation Council, where the drones can enter the building unseen through a small basement. The drones are able to see what is happening in the large hall of the Federation where the Federation Council has talks about the polution of the planet Helix III and how to solve it quickly before the population of the planet will get in trouble. The next item on the agenda is the production of grain on the planet Fsertum. After six hours of listening to the debates in the Federation Council there has not yet been said one word about the Slymak threat to the galaxy... The drones report this to the Borg Collective. Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang/Starbase 100 After the destruction of the Slymak ship, Admiral Hendriks asks Starfleet Command for advice, but there is not really anyone there who can help her. The Federation Council still has not issued any orders about the Slymak... "Another Slymak ship or part of one might be taken and investigated. If we find somethinguseful we'll stay, if not we'll go to Deep Space 2 and try conquer these Slymak ships. Any other option would be welcome." The Kirie have talked about themselves, but they do not see an solution. If they dtect a Slymak Galaxy Killer close to the center of the Galaxy, the Kirie will travel to another galaxy to safe themselves. The first Slymak Galaxy Killer will arive at the center of the galaxy in 25 years. At this time there are thousands of these Slymak Galaxy Killers and a few of them can be destroyed, but not all of them. So if only one of those Slymak Galaxy Killers reaches the center of the galaxy it will explode and create a shockwave that kills all life in the galaxy, even the smallest microbe. There is no defence against this shockwave. The Kirie had to deal with the Slymak many millenia ago in another galaxy and the Kirie had to flee to this galaxy. They will not hesitate to flee again to another galaxy if the Slymak threat is not neutralised. The Yu have analysed the debris of the Slymak ship. It is clear that the Slymak ships are robot ships. There was no life aboard. That is why the Slymak can send so many ships. These ships do not need crews. The Slymak ships are just machines. The Yu already knew that. You cannot talk to them or reason with them. They will not feel sorrow or pain. They are just programmed to do one thing. Map this galaxy and destroy all life in this galaxy to be able to take all the resources. The Yu can rebuild the Slymak robot ship to find a possible defence against the Slymak, but that is extremely dangerous. The Trsterts also know the Slymak. They are advanced enough to defend themselves against Slymak ships, but they cannot destroy them all. There are to many Slymak ships already in this galaxy. But there is an option wich is maybe even more dangerous than rebuilding a Slymak ship. "We could go back in time, some time before the first arrival of a Slymak ship in this galaxy and stop them from entering. The Slymak must have a gateway to their home galaxy to make a corridor from their home galaxy to our galaxy. If we can stop them at that entry point, they may stop their attempts to come to our galaxy..." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 564 15.36 Red alert on the IKS Gogta. Commander Matz runs to the bridge. Day 564 15.38 The IKS Gogta is flying cloaked and silent in pursuit of a Slymak ship. Scans are conducted. Commander Matz reports to Commodore Jeffrey Slater in command of the USS Vertigo. Day 564 15.42 The USS Vertigo is on a pursuit course of the IKS Gogta on a safe distance, so if necessary they can come to the rescue. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Atlantis Starbase 99 still has no offical Commanding Officer... The most senior officer aboard Starbase 99 is now Lieutenant-Commander Carl Donis. But Donis will not stay long. He is assigned as first officer of the USS Galileo. The USS Galileo, under command of Captain Letta Hurkon, is on its way to Starbase 99 to pickup Lieutenant-Commander Carl Donis. The USS Galileo will arrive at Starbase 99 in 34 days. So after 34 days the officer with the highest rank on Starbase 99 will be chief engineer Lieutenant-Commander La Kim. But La Kim is not at all interested in being in command of a Starbase... "I am an engineer not a slave driver." Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) Horkan and his Hirogen hunter friends have a huge fleet. They also have the technology to travel in time, but Horkan does not want to use that. Although the Slymak are not a direct threat to Horkan and his fleet, if one of those Slymak Galaxy Killers reaches the center of the galaxy in about 25 years, it is game over. Then even Horkan has no choice than to evacuate to another galaxy. The Replicators have a new plan... Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report February 2019 USS Earth/Starbase 44 Building a Slymak ship seems easier than the engineers had magined. Admiral Steichen can only be pleased. "So the first reports concerning the building of the Slymak ship are positive. Aparently these Slymak ships are automated probes without life aboard. First priority is Slymak data and main computer. Can we reprogram this Slymak ship and use it to our advantage?" There is still much to be learned from these Slymak, but if they are really going to destroy all life in the galaxy, something has to be done. And this is not without danger. "There is a danger in continuing rebuilding this Slymak ship. It is not certain what will happen if this Slymak ship is completed. We will build the Slymak systems seperately and do not connect them to eachother." And so it is done. Engineers and technicians resume their work in smaller groups. All sytems of the Slymak ship are now subject to the investigation. Sooner than expected there is some good news. "Admiral. We have found something. In the Slymak database there are coordinates of a Slymak portal. We think this is the entrance for the Slymak where they enter our galaxy. And strangely enough it is only four months travel from our position here at Starbase 44..." Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 Six days. Six days does the crew of Starbase 88 have before a Slymak ship will arrive. Admiral Van NIeuwenhove gives his orders. "Evacuate Starbase 88. We have enough ships to evacuate Starbase 88. We also have six days to take our starbase apart. With the crews of the 71 ships of the 88th fleet it should be possible to disassemble the starbase in less than that time. We rebuild it when the Slymak threat is gone. After the evacuation and disassembling of the starbase we will let the fleet continue to follow this Slymak ship to gain more information." The work begins. Starfleet Command is informed of the situation. They will have to do without Starbase 88 for some time. "You are going to take apert your starbase? Well... It is yours, so you can do with it what you think is necessary." It is a bit of a strange answer, but there is no time to think about it. The Slymak ship is coming and this is not a time to ake risks, especially because more and more messages are coming in from Starfleet ships who have encountered Slymak ships which have destroyed entire fleets. Six days... The engineers and technicians who are disassembling Starbase 88 work as if their lives depend on it. Actually there lives really depend on it. Six days... One of the tactical specialists comes up wih a totally different plan. "Admiral. We can make a super bomb or super mine. The Slymak ship travels in a straight line. We will put it on the route of the Slymak ship and when it passes we will blow it up. It will be the most powerfull explosive ever build." Six days... On the sixth day there is no more trace of Starbase 88. All components are put on ships. The 88th fleet has left the region and the Slymak ship... They are safe. But there is still the issue of the super bomb or super mine... Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective Master One has been able to enter the Slymak ship and will try to findout more. "Apparently the Borg cannot assimilate Slymak technology. We have to do this the old way. Take this Slymak ship apart and study piece by piece until you find something you can use against these Slymak." Of course Master One cannot do this alone and he calls all his padawans. With a group of almost 200 the disassembly of the Slymak ship begins while the Slymak ship travels through space. At the same time the entire collective does not understand why the Federation is doing something about the Slymak. "What happens on Earth and the Federation must be somekind of trap or show or the Federation Council has gone completely crazy. We will have our drones continue to spy on Earth. And have other teams try to assimilate Earth outposts in the solar system to establish a foothold." Two outposts, one on Mars and one on Titan are assimilated by only a few drones. This is done so fast the Federation has no idea that the outposts are assimilated. Also on Earth the drones keep following the Federation Council, which at this moment are debating the food problems and riots on Venez II, a supernova in sector 83421 and who may send a scientific team and the possible civil war on Catalon III. No word on Slymak or anything related... Master One and his team have been able to seperate all systems of the Slymak ship. The Slymak ship has come to a full stop. During the search in the Slymak ship's main computer coordinates are found which refer to the location of a Slymak portal. This is probably the portal which the Slymak use to enter the galaxy. This is very interesting information. But there is something else. Master One and his team have found a way to reprogram the main computer of the Slymak ship, at least some part of it... Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang/Starbase 100 It seems that there is no choice. These Slymak have to be stopped to safe the entire Galaxy. All ways to do this will be considered. Even the most risky or most idiotic plan... "We will travel back in time with the Kirie, Trsterts and Yu and stop the Slymak before they arrive here in this galaxy. This could change the entire history of the entire galaxy... We will see and evaluate." Admiral Hendriks has spoken. The Trsterts call in one of their ships and prepare the time jump. "Jump in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, now." Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 566 19.03 The IKS Gogta is flying cloaked and silent in pursuit of a Slymak ship. The USS Vertigo is on a pursuit course of the IKS Gogta on a safe distance. Commander Matz, aboard the IKS Gogta has sent the latest sensor logs to the USS vertigo. But there is nothing that can be used against the Slymak. Day 568 03.54 Without any sign the Slymak ship comes to a full stop. The cloaked IKS Gogta and USS Vertigo come to a full stop. Commodore Slater in command of the USS Vertigo orders all system of line to prevent detection. Day 569 06.00 The Slymak ship has not moved. The cloaked IKS Gogta has not moved. The USS Vertigo has not moved. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Atlantis Starbase 99 still has no offical Commanding Officer... Aboard Starbase 99 it seems like nobody wants the center chair. Lieutenant-Commander La Kim who will be the highest ranking officer in 15 days has a meeting with Lieutenant-Commander Carl Donis, First Officer of the USS Galileo. The USS Galileo has speeded up and will be at Starbase 99 in 15 days. The USS Atlantis is also on its way to Starbase 99. But the USS Atlantis will certainly not arrive before the USS Galileo at Starbase 99. There are even rumors the USS Atalantis is not on its way to Starbase 99 at all. There is also a rumor that Admiral Nechayev has something to do with it... Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) Horkan has been thinking about the new plan of the Replicators concerning the Slymak threat. Actually the plan is very simple, but Horkan is not sure he really wants to execute the plan. He knows that executing this plan can have serious consequences for all Galaxies where the Slymak have a presence. Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report March 2019 USS Earth/Starbase 44 By analysing the Slymak ship's main computer A Slymak portal is discovered. Admiral Steichen has to make a plan. "We need more information. We will have the engineers search for more information in the seperated Slymak systems." And so the search begins. Parts are seprated except for a few. Those are the parts that connect the slymak ship's computer to a network. One of the Starbase 44 engineers makes a discovery. She has been able to make a connection with a part of the Slymak network. She should be able to send out a command. With the help of the Slymak ship's computer there is another more important discovery. There are 400 portals on all sides of the Galaxy where Slymak ships are entering the galaxy. There are already thousands of Slymak ships scouting the galaxy for resources. There are already 205 Slymak Galaxy Killers on their way to the center of the Galaxy from all sides. If only one of them reaches the center of the Galaxy and explodes, a shockwave will kill all life in the Galaxy... The main points today on the agenda of the Federation Council are the civil war for resources, the new trade routes between Atalia VII and Bajor VIII, and the medical aid to Glotiana II where a pandemic apparently has already whiped out hundreds of trees. Apparently the Federation Council has not done anything to stop the Slymak threat. They are not even talking about it in the Federation Council. The only one who seems to care about the Slymak threat was the Klingon ambassador. But the Klingon Ambassador has left Earth with his entire delegation. Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 Six days... The Slymak ship passes. It doesn't even stop. As soon as it is out of range, some ships of the 88th fleet follow the Slymak ship. All the rest of the crews, especially the engineers and technicians start rebuilding Starbase 88. Admiral Van Nieuwenhove knows this was a close escape. "As long as we are silent and the Slymak do not see us, we are safe. So we will let the Slymak pass and then rebuild Starbase 88 at the same location." The work will take about six days... After six days the standard crew of Starbase 88 has started up their starbase and resume their duties. It is as nothing ever happened. But the SLymak are not forgotten. Captain Sigrid Johansson in command of the USS Mexico in pursuit of the Slymak ship has a new report. "Admiral. The Slymak ship has stopped close to a star. Apparently it is now draining energy from that star. We could try to interupt this energy transfer by sending a shuttle on remote control directly into the energy beam. That should work. The only thing of course is that the Slymak know we are close by. We also have made some successful scans of the Slymak ship. We can only confirm reports from Starfleet. There is no life aboard the Slymak ship." Aboard Starbase 88 a very young Ensign has a strange remark. "Admiral sir, If they need energy and we find a way to cut them of from that energy, maybe we can stop them." But his supervising Lieutenant has a different idea. "Admiral. The Ensigns idea is good, but I am afraid there are to many Slymak ships in our galaxy already and even if we could keep them away from stars, we only control Federation space, so all other species in this galaxy should do the same. I don't see how we are going to accomplish that. If only one Slymak Galaxy Killer gets trhough, we are doomed. We have about 25 years to find a sollution before the first Slymak Galaxy Killers reach the center of our galaxy and whipe out all life in this galaxy. It seems a lot of time, but it is not really. According Starfleet Command there are already a few hundred of these Slymak Galaxy KIllers on their way to the center of the Galaxy. Starfleet ships on deep space assignments in the Gamma and Delta Quadrant have already seen them as well. They are comming from all sides." Everyone looks at the admiral. The Lieutenant has said what everyone thinks. Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective Master One can reprogram a Slymak ship's computer. The Borg Collective has an idea. "We need more information. We will ask Master One to search for more information in the seperated Slymak systems." While Master One continues, the Collective Needs all the information needed for a possible next step. Gaining knowledge by assimilation... After assimilation of some outposts close to Earth and getting some drones to Earth to spy on the Federation Council, was not difficult at all. Security in the Federation seems to be failing seriously. It doesn't surprise the Borg Collective as the main points today on the agenda of the Federation Council are the civil war for resources, the new trade routes between Atalia VII and Bajor VIII, and the medical aid to Glotiana II where a pandemic apparently has already whiped out hundreds of trees. Apparently the Federation Council has not done anything to stop the Slymak threat. They are not even talking about it in the Federation Council. Security in the Federation is almost zero. The Borg are getting closer and closer. Scans taken by the drones on Earth do not reveal anything out of the ordinary. There is no indication of an alien infection, no alien presence is detected on the entire planet Earth. The conclusion is that the Federaton Council members are completely stupid, living in their own little world. The only one who seems to care about the Slymak threat was the Klingon ambassador. But the Klingon Ambassador has left Earth with his entire delegation. Master One has more success. He has been able to make a connection with a part of the Slymak network. he should be able to send out a command. The Borg Collective now knows that there are 400 portals on all sides of the Galaxy where Slymak ships are entering the galaxy. There are already thousands of Slymak ships scouting the galaxy for resources. There are already 205 Slymak Galaxy Killers on their way to the center of the Galaxy from all sides. If only one of them reaches the center of the Galaxy and explodes, a shockwave will kill all life in the Galaxy, even Borg life... Players: Family Keuleers USS Walang/Starbase 100 Admiral Hendriks has traveled in time with the Kirie, Trsterts and Yu to stop the Slymak before they arrive here in this galaxy. If they can stop the Slymak threat before it begins, the galaxy could be saved... Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 569 06.08 The Slymak ship is still at a full stop. It is strange it has stopped close to a star. Day 569 06.12 The Klingon crew of the IKS Gogta has found some kind of energy transfer from the star to the Slymak ship. Commander Matz, aboard the IKS Gogta sends this information to the USS Vertigo. Day 569 06.15 Apparently the Slymak ships need energy. They can just get it out of a star. It is not clear yet how the Klingons and Federation can use this to their advantage. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Atlantis Apparently there is some discussion aboard the USS Atlantis whether Captain Tom Walker should or should not go to STarbase 99 to take command of that starbase. The USS Atlantis is not even near Starbase 99. Aboard Starbase 99 Lieutenant-Commander La Kim has been in command the last 15 days, but now it is time to go. The USS Galileo has picked up the Commander who will start a first of many deep space exploration missions. Apparently nobody wants to be in command of Starbase 99. Lieutenant Commander Kenny Luhr is next in line, and altough he doesn't want to, he has to accept the job... Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) Horkan and his Replicators have been monitoring the Slymak activity. Some of the Slymak scout ships have stopped close to a star. It is very obvious these Slymak ships need the star's energy to continue. This could be another advantage. But even Horkan understands that, unless he can destroy all stars, he cannot set the Slymak without energy... So he is back on thinking about his original plan. He has to find a way to eliminate all risks. Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report April 2019 USS Earth/Starbase 44 Admiral Steichen contacts the Klingon High Council... "Apparently the Klingons have more knowledge about the Slymak. We will contact the Klingons and offer our assistance or ask their assistance." A diplomatic channel is opened. It does not take long before a Klingon appears on the viewer of Starbase 44 Operations. "I am Dahar Master K'Ovandar. I have just returned from Messier Galaxy 2. Yes another galaxy. We have received the help of Admiral Arthur and were able to use the super gate he has build at his station Deep Space 2. How can I help you?" Apparently this Klingon Dahar Master is very friendly. He answers some of Admiral Steichen's questions. "We are currently evacuating the entire Klingon Empire to that other galaxy. Don't get me wrong. Most of us want to battle these Slymak, but we must be realistic. There are to many of these Slymak Galaxy Killer Ships. Even if we would be able to destroy a few, it would not make any difference. We have the IKS Gogta close to a Slymak ship. On board is also one of your Starfleet Officers, Commander Matz. The IKS Gogta has reported that the Slymak ship has stopped at a star apparently to refuel energy. I have ordered them to fire a torpedo at the ship. And yes. One torpedo was enough to destroy the Slymak ship completely. It was a glorious moment." But then Dahar Master Dahar Master K'Ovandar stops cheering. Speaking a bit slower he seems distracted. "But even when we would have a ship close to all Slymak ships refueling at a star, we have received numbers from Admiral Arthur at Deep Space 2 that we don't even have enough ships to engage all the Slymak ships in this galaxy. We are doomed Admiral Steichen. We are doomed. We don't have a choice then to evacuate our people to another galaxy. The Klingon Ambassador at the Federation Council has brought this to the attention of the federation Council, but apparently they do nothing." Dahar Master K'Ovandar shakes his head. He only has one conclusion. "You are on your own Admiral Steichen. I apologize, but I have to go. I have urgent matters to attend to as you probably understand. If I were you, I would contact Admiral Arthur at Deep Space 2, at least to hear what he has to say. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best." Dahar Master K'Ovandar waves. The viewer is black... Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 The crew of the USS Mexico is looking at a Slymak ship which has come to a stop at a star apparently to refuel or retract energy out of the star. The Slymak ship draws energy out of the star with an energy beam. Admiral Van Nieuwenhove understands this is an nice oportunity. "USS Mexico, you are ordered to interupt the energy beam between the star and the Slymak ship. Let's see what happens." Captain Sigrid Johansson in command of the USS Mexico orders her best pilot to use the remote controle of a type 8 shuttle to send the shuttle into the energy beam. The tension on the bridge of the USS Mexico is rising by the second while the shuttle moves towards the Slymak ship. When the shuttle hits the energybeam the shuttle explodes, but the beam is gone as well. The Slymak ship seems to be dead in space. There is a moment of silence. At Starbase 44 where the mission has been followed by the Admiral and his staff, it is also silent. Now is the time to do something. But what? Just at that moment one of the junior officers speaks up. "Admiral. I apologize for the interuption sir, but there is a message I think you should hear. There is a Starfleet Officer (Commander Matz) is on board a Klingon ship the IKS Gogta. Commander Matz discovered that Slymak ships get energy directly from a star." A senior officer interupts. "We already know that Ensign. Is there something else?" The Ensign continues. "Yes sir. I will make it short. It takes a lot of time for the Slymak ship to do this. Apparently in that period the Slymak ship is vulnerable. It can be destroyed with one torpedo... The crew of the IKS Gogta has done this with success. The Slymak ship was destroyed with only one torpedo." It is silent again. Again everyone looks at the Admiral... Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective Although a large part of the Borg Collective has already evacuated to Messier Galaxy 54 just in case the Slymak are successful in destroying all life in the galaxy, another smaller part of the Borg Collective still has plans to stop the Slymak or use Slymak technology as an advantage for the Borg Collective. The only thing is that they cannot assimilate Slymak technology. "We are Borg. We will do a test. We will let Master One send out a command to all Slymak ships in range to see whether they stop and power down. If this works it gives us the possibility to stop the Slymak fleet. If we are fast enough... Our time is limited." "We will also let Master One find a Slymak Galaxy Killer and let him try to take control of it or destroy it." "Then there is a last thing to do. We will send a ship to this Slymak portal to have a look what these Slymak are doing. This is a scouting mission." The Borg Collective works very efficient. Aboard the captured Slymak ship a small group of Borg drones uses the computer of the ship to send messages to other Slymak ships. Already very soon these drones discover it is possible to send messages among Slymak ships. But important messages like "put them all to sleep" does not really work. as soon as connections are made the Slymak ships also try to get into the Borg systems. But the Borg are more than capable to keep out the Slymak. And then it happens. Seven Slymak ships close to the by the Borg captured Slymak ship power down. They come to a stop... Master One is searching for a Slymak Galaxy Killer, but it will take a few days to get to one. On his way he drops a scoutship from his Tactical Cube to set course to a Slymak portal. The scoutship drops out of transwarp in sensor range of the Slymak portal. Around the portal a few thousand Slymak ships have gathered and every few seconds an new ship arrives. as there are about 400 of these portals, the galaxy is invaded by almost half a million Slymak ships already. And every few seconds the number of Slymak ships grow... Things to think about... And then something happens. The Borg drones which have assimilated a small outpost on Titan have intercepted messages from a Starfleet Officer aboard a Klingon ship, IKS Gogta. The crew of the IKS Gogta have discovered the Slymak ships have to refuel at a star with an energy beam. At the moment they refuel they are vulnerable. The Klingons were able to destroy a Slymak ship refueling with only one torpedo. The Borg Collective has now put more Slymak ships off line or so it seems. Maybe the Collective can try to destroy them with one torpedo... Players: Marianne Loogen USS Vertigo Day 569 06.19 The Klingon Captain has made a decision. The IKS Gogta decloaks and fires a mine into the energy beam between the Slymak ship and the star. The energybeam stops. Day 569 06.20 The Slymak ship seems to be completely dead. A few seconds later the IKS Gogta fires a torpedo at the Slymak ship. The Slymak ship is completely destroyed in a huge ball of fire. There is cheering all over the IKS Gogta. Day 569 06.21 Commander Matz reports to the USS Vertigo how the IKS Gogta destroyed the Slymak ship without much effort. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Atlantis While the Slymak threat is getting more and more serious, Starbase 99 now also has instructions to startup plans to counter the Slymak threat. The Slymak use at least 400 portals in the galaxy to have their ships enter the galaxy. Most danger comes from the so called Slymak Galaxy Killers. They travel to the center of the galaxy where they explode. When that happens a shockwave will whipe out all life in the entire galaxy, even the smallest microbe. The first Slymak Galaxy Killer will arrive at the center of the galaxy in about 25 years. And there is probably nothing that can stop the Slymak. There are to many... On Starbase 99 Lieutenant Commander Kenny Luhr is now in command. He makes his crew get ready for the Slymak threat. Lenny is still waiting for a new commander of the starbase, but Captain Tom Walker has not arrived yet. Maybe he is not coming... Players: Johan Michielsens, Conny Parmentier Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) It is now also known to Horkan that the Slymak ships have to refuel at a star. When they do, the Slymak ships are very easy to destroy. Horkan's fleet has already destroyed 124 Slymak ships this way. But even Horkan knows there are to many Slymak in this galaxy. He cannot destroy them all. And if only one Slymak Galaxy Killer reaches the center of the galaxy, it is all over... Players: Thomas van Rhee DS2 RPG General Status Report May 2019 USS Earth/Starbase 44 Engineering teams have already rebuild a Slymak ship and used the ship’s computer to discover the positions of the Slymak. At the time there were 400 Slymak portals and 205 Slymak Galaxy Killers. But the engineers did not find a way to take over or send a command to other Slymak ships. The Slymak ship’s computer was not connected with other Slymak systems. Admiral Steichen in command of Starbase 44 has contacted the Klingons because they seem to know more about the Slymak. After a talk with Klingon Dahar Master K’Ovandar There is a confirmation of the Slymak threat. Admiral Steichen organizes a senior staff meeting. “So apparently already a Starfleet Officer, Commander Matz, is on board a Klingon ship the IKS Gogta. That Commander discovered that Slymak ships get energy directly from a star. But it takes a lot of time to do this. Apparently in that period the Slymak ship is vulnerable. It can be destroyed with one torpedo... There must be an easier way. What about going aboard a Slymak ship while it is refuelling at a star. Do something with the main computer of that ship. Maybe put all the Slymak "asleep"...” Starbase 44 Chief Engineer Commander Luke Stell is hopeful. “Admiral. As you know we were be able to use a Slymak computer to gather data and that worked. We think we cannot use it to send out messages or sabotage the Slymak fleet if it is not connected to other Slymak systems. If we can get aboard a refuelling Slymak ship, we may do much more. I think we should do this. Just give the order and I assemble a team.” But not everyone is so happy with the idea on boarding a Slymak ship, even when it seems incapacitated. Doctor P'Dem is one of them. “We have to consider what we can gain. It is possible we sacrifice good people for nothing.” Before anyone can speak, Starbase 44 Operations reports the USS Signature has encountered a Slymak ship which has started refuelling at a star... Players: Christine Steichen Starbase 88 It is still silent in Starbase 88 Operations. Everyone looks at Admiral Van Nieuwenhove. The Admiral knows a chance like this will not come much often. “So apparently already a Starfleet Officer, Commander Matz, is on board a Klingon ship the IKS Gogta. Commander Matz discovered that Slymak ships get energy directly from a star. But it takes a lot of time to do this. Apparently in that period the Slymak ship is vulnerable. It can be destroyed with one torpedo... We will send our ships out and search for Slymak ships. As soon as they are refuelling at a star destroy that Slymak ship.” The entire 88th fleet has new orders. Patrol and destroy all Slymak ships which are refuelling at a star. The first few days there is no report at all and it seems the Slymak are avoiding the ships of the 88th fleet. But that is not true of course. The first to find a Slymak ship refuelling at a star is the USS Kopiko. The Captain of the USS Kopiko does not hesitate a moment. He orders to fire one torpedo at the Slymak ship. The Slymak ship is destroyed is a huge ball of fire. All crews of all ships of the 88th fleet cheer. Just for a few minutes… Than they all realise a battle is won, but the war is not yet over. Not at all… At the next senior staff meeting in conference room 1 next to Starbase 88 Operations Chief of Security Commander Carlo Demaggio has an interesting remark. “Admiral. We know now how to defeat the Slymak, but there is one thing we have to consider. We have received information from Starbase 44 that they have managed to rebuild a Slymak computer out of a destroyed Slymak ship. They have found out that there are over 400 Slymak portals spread all over the Galaxy and hundreds of Slymak Galaxy Killers. Every second more Slymak ships enter our Galaxy. We… Starfleet has not enough ships to deal with all of those Slymak ships. And we cannot travel fast enough to the other side of the Galaxy. If we could enter a Slymak ship while it is refuelling, it may be possible we can use that Slymak ship against the Slymak themselves and take out more of them in one blow, or maybe even all of them.” Players: Geert Van Nieuwenhove USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective The Borg Collective is already building a unicomplex in Messier Galaxy 54. This will be the start of the assimilation of an entire galaxy. The easiest way to move around in this new galaxy is to build several transwarp hubs. But that takes time… In the old galaxy the threat of the Slymak is very real to the Borg. But the Slymak are not only a threat to the Borg, but to all species in the galaxy. The Klingons and Federation already work together. But then the question comes up… Will all the species help each other? “So apparently already a Starfleet Officer, Commander Matz is on board a Klingon ship the IKS Gogta. Commander Matz discovered that Slymak ships get energy directly from a star. But it takes a lot of time to do this. Apparently in that period the Slymak ship is vulnerable. It can be destroyed with one torpedo... Apparently the Federation and Klingons are working together. They have found a way to destroy a Slymak ship but they will probably be to late to destroy all Slymak ships that way. We can help them by telling them how they can use a captured ship or refuelling ship's computer to stop other Slymak ships. Or we can chose not to help them...” So the question is. Will the Borg Collective share their knowledge with other species? The knowledge of how to use a Slymak computer to eliminate other Slymak ships. It will take about 25 years for a Slymak Galaxy Killer to reach the centre of the Galaxy. So there is still time to come up with a plan. A few of those plans are proposed by Master One. The borg scoutship close to one of the 400 Slymak Portals can only detect thousands of Slymak ships coming out of the portal. Master One thinks about sending the scout ship through the Slymak Portal to see what is on the other side. Master One has another idea. As the Borg Collective now has access to Slymak computers, maybe a network can be created and with that network all Slymak ships may be accessed and stopped, not only a few... Day 570 14.00 Senior Staff meeting aboard the USS Vertigo. Commodore Slater asks for more options to handle the Slymak threat. It is clear that the federation and Klingons have not enough ships to destroy all the Slymak ships, especially at the other side of the Galaxy where the Slymak are unreachable… Day 574 19.42 The IKS Gogta has discovered another Slymak ship at a star starting the Slymak refuelling process. Players: Nadine Peeters USS Atlantis While the Slymak threat continues it becomes clear that the Federation Council underestimates the Slymak threat. Some High ranked Starfleet officers have taken the initiative to get away from the Slymak threat. But it is a decision everyone has to make for themselves. There is a plan developed by Admiral Arthur in Command of Deep Space 2, a space station and the edge of Federation space. Admiral Arthur sends out messages to all Starfleet Captains --------------------------------------------- From Admiral Arthur, CO Deep Space 2 Begin Message Recently we have been confronted by a species called Slymak. The Slymak have entered our galaxy with only one purpose. They will destroy all life in this galaxy with huge ships called Galaxy Killers. These Slymak Galaxy Killers are travelling to the centre of the galaxy where they will send out a shock wave to destroy all life in this galaxy. One of these Slymak Galaxy Killers is enough to do this. Currently there are more than a hundred of these Galaxy Killers on their way to the centre of the galaxy from all directions. There is no way to stop them. We don't think even the Borg cannot stop them. As soon as all life has been exterminated they will start taking all resources of the galaxy. At this time many Slymak scout ships are mapping this galaxy. We have engaged these scout ships, but we lost all battles. Even a Klingon fleet of more than 50 ships tried to destroy a Slymak scoutship, but was destroyed in less than two minutes without even making a scratch on the Slymak ship. Some very advanced species we have been in contact with have advised us to evacuate the galaxy. To do this we have built a gateway portal, a super stargate, we are already using for evacuation of the galaxy to mainly Galaxy Messier 2, where we can start a new life. You are free to join us. Please note, the Federation Council doesn't see the Slymak as a threat, but they are wrong. We have seen the Slymak threat with our own eyes. Even the Klingons are now using our super stargate to start evacuating the Klingon Empire to another galaxy. We even had contact with the Romulans, Cardassians and Ferengi. The Slymak threat is real. Although it will take the Slymak Galaxy Killers 25 years to reach the centre of our galaxy, they will and they will destroy this galaxy... End of message --------------------------------------------- But there is also information coming from the Klingons. Apparently a Starfleet Officer, Commander Matz, is on board a Klingon ship the IKS Gogta. Commander Matz discovered that Slymak ships get energy directly from a star. Admiral Steichen doesn't seem to need much time to think about it. "Sending a team to an unknown dangerous, maybe even one way trip, is part of being a Starfleet officer. We will send a team and see what they can do aboard the Slymak ship." In a few minutes the team of volonteers on the USS Signature is ready to be transported aboard the Slymak ship. As soon as the team is aboard the Slymak ship the search begins. It is not easy as there are no life forms aboard. So the inside of the Slymak ship is not designed to have people running around aboard. But the team manages to reach what looks like the central systems. It takes the engineers of the team a serious amount of time to connect Federation technolgy with the Slymak technology, but it works. Data is coming in and reported to Starbase 88. Apparently I was wrong Admiral Ensign Harling just informed me we have access to the command structure of the Slymak ship's computer. I repeat. We have access to the command structure of the Slymak computer. We also have access to the computers of those 19 other Slymak ships. A Borg scoutship is sent at transwarp speed to one of the Slymak portals. Admiral Necheyev could have a similar plan and maybe she wants to use the USS Atlantis for that purpose, but the USS Atlantis is a very special ship... Aboard the USS Atlantis preparations are made, but for what? "Admiral, this Annaka. Annaka Admiral Necheyev, can you explane why it is impossible to hand over command of the Atlantis to another captain." Annaka explains. "Captain Walker has made a agreement with the Moadib, to except our technology to enter act with Federation systems. The systems are no treat Admiral, if you can check to these disks I can show why!" Walker knows the USS Atlantis is a very special ship. "Thank you Annaka, Admiral, the Atlantis is one kind, lets make it perfectly clear, its design is special one of a kind! This ship is the Leagcy of my parents who designed it, and build it! The Dreadnought Class is new, put in someone command that doesn’t know anything about it! If I take the position on StarBase 99, the Atlantis stays! And I would like to know why me, my father is not the only one who decided this, there is more." Necheyev is not pleased... "Captain!" But Captain Walker continues. "Admiral, you suported me in the past, took me in after ambassador Spock died , and my Vulcan Parents took me after the dead of my parents, and give me this command. With who did my father negotiate this?" Necheyev knows. "The Chitauri – The Helganites – The Etorians and the Carneaians!!!" Walker elaborates. "The Chitauri can not be trusted, and you know why, the Helganites are traders, the other two I don’t know! Why StarBase 99?" =============================================================== Walker has authority here. "So Admiral, we are in agreement, the Atlantis stays under my command for intire duration. Does that mean captain you axcept the promotion to Admiral!" Walker does not have to think about that. "Yes and remaining so after the negotiations." Walker considers this issue as closed. There is a rescue team of drones hidden on Borg controlled Slymak ships on their way to save the Borg drones on the other side of the Slymak portal. They have discovered an entire galaxy filled with Slymak ships. Apparently the Slymak have just finished their "work", destroyed all life in that galaxy with a Slymak Galaxy Killer ship and taking all resources. That is why they are now on their way to do the same in the next galaxy. That is the galaxy where the Borg are the dominant species... Or at least the Borg think so... These Slymak have to be stopped. But how? With the help of the Federation, Klingons, Romulans? A large part of the Borg Collective has evacuated to Messier Galaxy 54 in case the Slymak can execute their plan and destroy all life in the galaxy. Even the Borg Collective is now seeking out in the new Messier Galaxy 54 for civilizations with a useful technological distinctiveness. Maybe the Borg will find technology to defeat the Slymak. While assimilating a species called Potentia, the Borg discover technology to infect the Slymak with a chemical. This chemical makes any metal fall apart in atoms. Now there is one little problem. There are millions of Slymak ships already in the galaxy and about a thousand Slymak galaxy killer ships. How can the Borg spread a chemical among millions of Slymak ships? Then Master One comes with a plan. "We can produce the chemical in a huge amount, travel to the center of the galaxy and create a shockwave which will then spread the chemical all over the galaxy. How the Borg did this is unknown to the Federation, but one thing is sure. Some Starfleet Admirals will not leave it at that. The list of Federation facilities is spread out and aboard Starbase 88 Admiral Van Nieuwenhove has already ordered his fleet to stop the Borg in Federation space. While the 88th fleet is dealing with the Borg in Federation space aboard Starbase 44 Admiral Steichen has different plans for the Borg. "The Borg... They cannot be trusted. Still the Federation needs the Borg in the war against the Slymak. We will let the Borg keep their assimilated Federation facilities, but keep an eye on them." And so in an outpost and a relay station close to Starbase 44, Borg drones still are active, but closely watched by security officers, without the Borg knowing anything about the fact they have been discovered. Although the Borg might be a big help in eliminating the Slymak threat, the crew of Starbase 44 already is working on a new plan to end the Slymak threat. Some have plans already to make a new weapon like the Slymak Galaxy Killer ships to destroy all Slymak. A few officers suggest time travel to the origin of these Slymak and destroy the Slymak before they can become a danger to anyone. But some of he scientists want to assemble Replicator building blocks. There must be a way they can use these Replicators to their advantage. Admiral Steichen knows this could be dangerous. "You have permission to link three Replicator building blocks together. This is a dangerous path..." Nobody has to remind any of the scientists to be careful. Three Replicator building blocks are linked. They merge in less than a second. Before anyone can do anything the three building blocks eat the table where they lay on. Only a few seconds later the table is gone and the Replicator is much bigger. Only a few seconds later there is nothing left in the room. The small pile of Replicator building blogs has already formed in a human like shape. The guards do not wait for any orders and point the weapon they used to destroy the Replicators in the first place. The starbase computer voice is activated... "We do not want to harm you.... Master One has suggested a new way of dealing with the Slymak, but the Borg Collective discusses the matter and comes to another conclusion. "We will alter Master One’s plan. We will keep destroying Slymak ships and assimilate more worlds. But it might be possible to create a computervirus that will target subsystems of Slymak computers and have them create this chemical on board their own ships, thus destroying them from within. Might even be a potential weapon against all other conventonal, metalusing species. Universal domination is within our grasp if this succeeds !"
