DS2 RPG General Status Report January 2020 USS Earth/Starbase 44 The Admiralty of Starfleet Command has a meeting to talk about the situation. Admirals try to convince other Admirals of what to do about the Slymak threat. "... And therefore we cannot do that. We need much more ships...." "We can build ships, more ships, much more ships. If our information is correct, we still have about 25 years, make it 20 to be sure." "And how many ships do we need? Do we have the technology to destroy Slymak ships?" "We have to develop new technology." "And how will we test this new technology? And how will we destroy Slymak ships at the other side of the Galaxy? How can we get there?" "What about this commander of Deep Space 2? What is his name again?" "Admiral Arthur. What about him?" "He seems to have build some kind of gateway so big that even starships can travel through it to another galaxy." "And what is your point exactly?" "Maybe we should evacuate..." "Never! We will not give up that easily. We have time. We will build and research. We will fight until the last ... "Are you serious. These Slymak are a hundred times more advanced than the Borg. It will take centuries before we have technology that can beat the Slymak." "We are completely outnumbered. Even if we would be able to develop new and advanced technology in time we would not have enough manpower to use it everywhere in the galaxy." "We have tried to use Slymak computers against them, but they found out rather fast and their losses were insignificant. These Slymak are not to be underestimated." On Starbase 44 an artificial life form called a Replicator has a meeting with Admiral Steichen and some of her officers. "We will talk with the Replicator to learn about it and what options might exist, but I don't trust it." But the Replicator doesn't seem to be hostile. "We call ourselves Replicators. I have already had contact with other Replicators They are to far away to intervene in this part of the Galaxy. In fact they are ready to evacuate to another galaxy. But they are able to destroy the Slymak. They can save this Galaxy. The only thing is... You have to convince them. And at the moment there is nothing you have that they want." It is silent. The Replicator continues. "I can build more of us, thousands. I only want to help. The Slymak are not a threat to us. I am artificial. A Slymak Galaxy Killer will destroy all life. I am not alive." But there are more options. An hour later Admiral Steichen already is working on one of those options. "I have to Let Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo do... something... in an attempt to stop the Slymak..." At this moment Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo come in. They have found a way to take control of a Slymak ship. With this Slymak ship they can find the origin of the Slymak. It is going to take some time, maybe even a year, but Captain Wainis is sure it will work. Players: CS Starbase 88 The Admiralty of Starfleet Command has a meeting to talk about the situation. "We have tried to use Slymak computers against them, but they found out rather fast and their losses were insignificant. These Slymak are not to be underestimated." On Starbase 88 a young Ensign has said what everyone else is thinking. It seems the only way to stop these Slymak is time travel. Admiral Van Nieuwenhove agrees. "There is only one way to deal with the Slymak threat. There are millions of Slymak ships, about a thousand Slymak Galaxy Killer ships coming from all directions into the galaxy. The only way to stop them is time travel. We need to travel in time to when the first Slylmak were created and then destroy them so the Slymak will never become a threat." It seems a simple plan, but there are some difficulties. When were the first Slymak artificial ships being built? Who build them and where? So again the engineers of Starbase 88 start searching the data of the captured Slymak computer. Weeks pass by... And then suddenly, probably with a lot of luck one of the engineers finds data of the origin of the Slymak... Now there is a date and a place... Ten Federation starships of the 88th fleet with volonteer crews prepare for time stravel. They use a blue giant star for a slingshot. If the calculations are correct, the these ten ships travel back in time about a million years. For every scenario they have specific orders, so the ship's Captains know exactly what to do in all situations. It seems like only a few seconds... The ships have arrived in the distant passed. And they seem to be close to their target. Long range scanners detect three Slymak ships. There is no life aboard. So they are automated. But these Slymak ships do not have any shields and are very easy to destroy. These must be the first Slymak ships... Players: GVN USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective A chemical is found by the Borg in Messier Galaxy 54 that can destroy all metal. The Borg use this chemical against the Slymak. They even make a computervirus so the Slymak ships destroy themselves with the chemical. But the Borg Collective has a problem. "The new plan seems to work, but it is still not going fast enough. Double... We will tripple our efforts to deliver more of the computervirus in different locations so in entire regions Slymak ships are infected and produce the metal destroying substance found in Messier Galaxy 54 so more Slymak ships destroy themselves in half the time." The Borg virus is effective. More and more Slymak ships are destroyed by the chemical. But calculations of the Borg Collective indicate the plan with the chemical works and can eliminate all millions of Slymak ships and the entire galaxy will be free of Slymak ships. But the entire operation will take about 20 years. Maybe it will be just in time before the first Slymak Galaxy Killer reaches the center of the Galaxy. Players: JM, CP Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) There is now contact between the artificial Replicators helping Horkan, a mysterious priest and Replicators in Federation space. The federation Replicators have been assembled on Starbase 44, under command of Admiral Steichen who ants to find a way to eliminate the Slymak threat. It is not certain yet what Admiral Steichen wants exactly. But there is no harm in asking. Players: TvR DS2 RPG General Status Report February 2020 USS Earth/Starbase 44 To counter the Slymak threat Admiral Steichen gives Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo permission to take the Slymak ship and explore Slymak space and search for the Slymak's origin. "Understood Admiral. Come on Doo, we are leaving." The two exceptional officers only need a shuttlecraft to find a refueling Slymak ship. They get on board rather easy. To search the Slymak computer again is easy. The origin of the Slymak are a species called Flom. The coordinates of the home planet of the Flom are in the Slymak computer. That was easy. To take control of the Slymak ship is easy. To use the subspace engine is easy. Only four hours after Captain John Wainis and Commander Scooby-Doo took over the Slymak ship they arrive in orbit of the Flom home planet. On the home planet of the Flom biological humanoids are living together with Slymak. Apparently the Slymak are serving the Flom. It is clear the Flom created the Slymak as a comfort for themselves... The Flom do not seem violent at all... Captain John Wainis is now waiting for orders. "Admiral, what should we do?" Players: CS Starbase 88 10 ships of the 88th fleet under command of Admiral Van Nieuwenhove, aboard the USS Mexico, have traveled to the past to find the origin of the Slymak. Already a few Slymak ships have been destroyed. Admiral Van Nieuwenhove keeps to the plan. "We are here a million years before Starfleet. We will not only destroy these Slymak ships, but also make some other changes in the timeline." The Slymak are automated robots. Robots cannot make themselves. Someone has made these Slymak robots. So the creator or creators of the first Slymak robots have to be found. The computer core of a destroyed Slymak ship is investigated. In the database of this computer members of the 88th fleet find the coordinates of the home planet of the Slymak. As the Federation ships travel further they reach this Slymak homeplanet. But to their surprise sensor scans indicate biological life forms living together with Slymak robots. There are facturies on the planet where these robots are built. It is a company called Slymak that builds the Slymak robots... The small Federation fleet is greeted by two Slymak ships. "Welcome to the home planet of Flom. How can we help you?" A moment later a humanoid appears on the main viewer. "Visitors, visitors. Welcome, welcome. I am Darius. We call our species the Flom. We don't have many visitors here. We are the biggest producers of the Slymak robots. We have robots for everyone and any purpose. Look at our database and I am sure you will find something to your liking. Just place your order. And... Because you are a first time customer, you will receive a discount of not 5 percent as usual, but 10 percent if your order is more than 200 Slymak robots of any kind. Big or small. Whatever you like. Now that I have you on the line anyway, I can recommend the new cleaning Slymak S-100. Ihave one myself. It can clean your home, your ship, or anything else without making a sound and without disturbing anyone. And we have thousands of them in stock. We can deliver them right now if you want. What do you say? How many will I fill in on your order form?" There is an older Lieutenant on the bridge of the USS Mexico who speaks first. "Maybe we can tell these Flom that we are stuck with some nasty galaxy destroying Slymak robots and we want our money back. And they have to clean up their mess..." The USS Atlantis is still far from Starbase 99. Long range sensors detect a Slymak ship, but it is going the opposite way. It is the first time the crew of the USS Atalntis actually see a Slymak ship. Everyone is almost happy the Slymak ship went the other way... The journey to Starbase 99 continues. Players: JM, CP Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) It is not clear to Horkan's Replicators what Admiral Steichen in command of Federation Starbase 44 needs or wants from the Replicators which she has ordered to assemble. But the Replicators follow every move the Admiral makes, especially concerning the Slymak threat. Players: TvR DS2 RPG General Status Report March 2020 USS Earth/Starbase 44 The first ship with Federation personnel aboard has found the homeplanet of the Flom, creators of the Slymak. Admiral Steichen has some choices... "These Flom look so peaceful. How can it be they have created a robotic species that is destroying galaxies. We will send a diplomatic team to talk to them and convince the Flom what the Slymak are doing leads to the destruction of all life in the universe. We will ask them to shut down the Slymak that are a threat to everyone else." After contact with the Flom they seem to be very friendly. The Flom invite the visitors to come to their planet. A small Federation delegation is send to the planet Flom. The first contact seems to be... not the first contact... "I am Darius of the Flom. Welcome. You are not the first of your kind to visit us. But those of you who visited us before... It was a very long time ago, very long time ago. We had just started our business, selling Slymak robots... That must be a million years ago..." The Federation delegation is extremely surprised to hear this. Time travel has been done before, but is not really a good idea as that can make things worse. But according Darius from the planet Flom, it has happened. And there doesn't seem to be a reason why he should lie... "Yes... Time passes faster than I thought. I will tell you the same thing as I told your friends at the time. We did not make and will not make robots that use violence of any kind. You can blame anyone you like, but you will not blame us. We have nothing to do with any Slymak robots that use violence or any form of destruction. That is part of our guarantee." The Federation delegation has no answer to that. "But while you are here, maybe we can do some business. What would you lilke. We have nice prices and great package deals. A few ships perhaps or a load of cleaninng robots. They work very efficient and do not use much energy. Actually, if you have enough credits, you can buy one of our factories and build yourself. We can deliver raw materials and building plans for a nice price..." If Darius of Flom does speak the truth, someone else has built and/or reprogrammed these Slymak ships and made Slymak galaxy killers. But who? Players: CS Starbase 88 A million years befor Starfleet exsits a Federation starship is in orbit of the homeplanet of the Flom, creators of the Slymak robots. The Federation ship has traveled back in time. In command is Admiral GVN who meets with a Flom called Darius, who only seems to want one thing: to sell Slymak robots... "We will talk to the Flom and try to convince them that building Robots like the Slymak is not a good idea. These Slymak will become very dangerous in the future." But the talk with the Flom Darius does not go as planned. Darios is only thinking about profit and selling hie Slymak robots... "No no no no. Our robots are perfectly safe. They are not programmed to use any form of violence. That is a sure thing. We test our robots fully before we send them to our customers." The question is... Can the customers reprogram the Slymak robots? "Well... That is... You know... I have an idea. Why don't you join me and I will give you a tour in one of our Slymak robot factories. You will see that everything is as I have told you. What do you say?" Players: GVN USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective The Borg plan, using a chemical that destroys metal, works to eliminate the Slymak, but it is going to take a serious amount of time. "Calculations indicate the plan with the chemical works and can eliminate all millions of Slymak ships and the entire galaxy will be free of Slymak ships. But the entire operation will take about 20 years. So we will continue doing this." A few sectors of Borg space are indeed already free of Slymak ships. The plan does indeed work. But although there is still a lot of work with these Slymak it is also time to see what the other species are doing and to see whether the Borg can use something or assimilate a new idea or technology to make the war against the Slymak faster and more efficient. Several species close to Borg space have been in battle with the Slymak, but they failed... But when the Borg finally have been able to scout the Federation again, they come to a strange conclusion. The federation have found the creators of the Slymak robot killers. That species is called the Flom. And the Federation have already a captured Slymak ship in orbit of the Flom Homeworld. If the Flom are indeed the creators of the Slymak artificial intelligence, the Borg have to intervene. A Borg transwarp conduit will take a Borg ship in only a few hours to the Flom homeworld... The Admiral and his away team accept the invitation of the Flom called Darius to take a tour in one of the Slymak robot factories. The tour begins in the hall where simple Slymak cleaning robots are constructed. While the tour contniues the Federation engineers check the robots and their software. They don't find anything wrong. The tour continues passing the Slymak maintenance robots, the Slymak garden robots, the Slymak shop robots, the Slymak butler robots, the Slymak cook robots, and the... "Hey who are you?" A man is running away between the production units. It is clearly a man and not a Flom. The Flom called Darius turns to the Federation officers. "Haaaaaaaa. Haaaaaa. Shoot him, kill him. He is an intruder. Kill him." One of the officers grabs his weapon and points to the intruder who stops runnning and puts his hands in the air. A few other officers also have their weapon ready. But one of them whispers to the Admiral. "Admiral. If we kill this man we could change history. It can become worse. Or maybe he is the cause of the Slymak robots become destructive and he is the start of galaxies being destroyed. I advice to stun him and interrogate him. We need more information." Players: GVN USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective The Borg only have one plan... Assimilation. "We will send a ship to this Flom homeworld and assimilate the Flom. The flom created the Slymak. A Borg ship is on its way to the Flom homeworld... --------------------- "We will also send spies to the Federation HQ to find out more and contact commodore Oh, The Romulan agent at Starfleet HQ and use and blackmail her to be able to use her Tal Shiar contacts." How the Tal Shiar will be connected with the Borg is one really big question, but some say it has to do with an artifact. The secret identity of Commodore Oh is not known in the Federation. Fact is that the Slymak are robots and even robot ships and Commodore Oh is obsessed with destroying artificial life forms... Commodore Oh stands up. She can only hope her plan will work. While she turns around away from her desk to look out of the window, she is caught by a green transporter beam. Before she can do anything, she finds herself clearly on a Borg ship only a second later. At first she thinks that she knows where she is, but when about twenty Borg drones approach she is no longer sure. Then she hears a hundred voices. "We are Borg. Day 300 11.45 The Stargate on Plonta II is open and a clicking is heard on the alien device. A voice is heard, asking who is calling. Players: NP USS Atlantis The USS Atlantis is on its way to Starbase 99. The journey seems to be uneventful. Within the Federation several teams and ships have discovered the home planet of the Flom. The Flom are the manufacturers of the Slymak robots. But the Flom have said there is nothing wrong with their products. The Flom have built Slymak robots for thousands of years and they are still building them. But never did they built robots which are violent and certainly not robots which are able to destroy galaxies. It is all more than a bit strange. On the other side of the federation aboard space station Deep Space 2 Admiral Arthur has read the latest reports on the Slymak threat. A young Lieutenant is standing at attention in the Admiral's office. "Admiral the Flom seem to be innocent. But if the Flom didn't build these destructive Slymak, who did? Or how did they become like this?" "All good questions Lieutenant. I am sure our teams will find out." Players: JM, CP Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) Horkan and his Replicators are observing the Flom on a cloaked Replicator ship. There is also a ship with a Federation crew in orbit of the Flom homeworld. Even a Borg tactical cube is on its way to the Flom homeworld. All roads lead to the Flom, the creators of the Slymak robots... But there is something else. Temporal sensors on Horkan's ship detect a Federation ship has traveled a million years back in time to the Flom homeworld. Is the Federation planning to change history? We will send someone back in time to check it out." A team is sent back in time a million years to the flom homeworld. the first impressions is that in the past the Flom homeworld looks exactly the same a million years in the past than now. Even the Slymak robot factories are standing at the exact same spot as in the current time. The only thing that is different is that some of the large cities have been replaced by forrests. The team discovers the other Federation team but does not make contact. Players: CS Starbase 88 On the Flom homeworld a million years ago, a Federation crew arrived by travelling in time. Following the Flom called Darius on a tour in one of the Slymak robot factories an uninvited intruder is caught. It is clear the Flom want this intruder dead... Admiral Van Nieuwenhove waves his finger. "Stun the intruder so we can interrogate him later. He could have something to do with the Slymak robots becoming destructive. If the Flom do not agree," and he looks at the Flom called Darius, "take this intruder to the ship so we can interrogate him there." The Flom called Darius protests. "That man is dangerous! He doesn't deserve to live! He ruins our economic system! He is a terrorist! Kill him!" Before things get out of hand two security officers grab the intruder and are beamed aboard the ship, where the intruder will be interrogated. The Flom Darius is to upset to continue the tour in the Slymak robot factory. He asks the Federation officers to leave. A moment later Admiral Van Nieuwenhove is transported on the ship in orbit. He hurries to the interrogation room. On their way one of the officers remarks... "There is clearly something wrong with these Flom. They don't seem to understand that anyone can buy a Slymak robot, they can also alter that robot's programming. I have not seen one precaution in that Slymak factory. There is no security at all. And as we could see, there is even a person who can just enter the factory without an alarm is activated." The small group arrives in the interrogation room, where Vulcan Lieutenant T'Par is leading the interrogation. "Admiral I was just ready to perform a mindmeld with the suspect. We will soon find out what this is all about." T'Par puts his hands on the head of the terrified suspect. "My mind to your mind. My thaughts to your thoughts." Only a moment later already the first results of the mindmeld reveal that the intruder in the Slymak robot factory is indeed a political activist, by the name of Guriun. He wanted to sabotage the Slymak robot factory, because he and his friends believe these slymak robots will one day turn on the Flom and destroy the Flom or even worse. Robots are not to be trusted. Robots are dangerous. Now it is clear what the suspect, Guriun, wants... Players: GVN USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective Spoiler alert! Attention! This part of the DS2 RPG contains spoilers for those who have not seen Star Trek Picard! "We are Borg. You will lower your shields and prepare to be boarded. You will be assimilated to service us." The Flom pilot has no idea who or what the Borg are. But only two minutes later he is assimilated. To the disapointment of the entire Borg Collective this Flom knows little or nothing about Slymak robots destroying entire galaxies. This Flom pilot doesn't even believe Slymak robots could do a thing like that. Slymak robots are kind, polite and help biological life forms in any way they can. There must be a mistake... Because this doesn't help much, the Borg ship continues its way to the Flom homeworld. But the Borg Collective has an serious advantage. Commodore Oh has been captured. Commodre Oh, a Tal Shiar spy and actually a Romulan general has worked her way up to Commodre and head of Starfleet Security. But her plan, to destroy all androids on Coppelius, failed and her Zhat Vash cover was revealed. Now Commodore Oh is in the hands of the Borg Collective. And the Borg have some questions... "Hand over starfleet and Romulan intelligence with regards to Flom and all crewreports and troop/shipmovements in the Earth solarsystem and Vulcan homesystem. We will continue to assimilate those systems and give a cripling psychological blow to starfleet" But Commodore Oh has never heard anything about the Flom. Probably because the Federation Council still doesn't seem to care much about the Slymak robot threat and the Slymak Galaxy Killer ships. The Borg have other plans. "We will use the Tal Shiar and Zhat Vash to assist in infiltrating all starfleet Sol system based bases. We will keep Commodore Oh on a leash and make some ‘promises’ to make it worth her while." Not that much later the first Romulan Tal Shiar spy lands at New Berlin spaceport on the Earth's moon. She is only one of many others that infiltrate Federation facilities... And then the Borg Collective has a really big plan. We will use Zhat Vash and Commodore Oh to take control over the Coppelius androids. Studying them could wollow for a new evolution in Borg ‘biology’... And the Borg have a stranded ship on Coppelius... As 7 of 9 left Coppelius, only a few inactive drones are on that cube. As soon as a sphere was sent out by the Borg Collective to Coppelius these drones were activated. But even the Borg Collective failed in assimilating the androids on Coppelius, who open a gateway to a universe inhabited by artificial life forms which destroy the Borg sphere in a matter of seconds... the Orchids were only standing by... watching... The first reports from the Tal Shiar spies in the Federation facilities are coming in, in the office of Commodore Oh in the Borg Unicomplex, where two Borg drones are watching over her shoulder. The reports are mostly alike. The Federation Council is not concerned with the Slymak threat at all. Does the Federation have already a plan against the Slymak? Fact is that there are at least two Federation teams sent back a million years in time to the Flom homeworld. The Flom, creators of the Slymak robots... There is a Borg ship on its way to the Flom homeworld in the current time. But what is the Federation doing there a million years ago??? This suddenly makes the Slymak threat a really serious threat. It is clear and simple. Soon it is discovered that the other Federation team is of the 88th Federation fleet... It is also discovered the 88th fleet has not yet made any changes in the timeline. 88th fleet teams are mobilized, scans are conducted, teams on the planet of the Flom examine Slymak robots while the Flom do not know anything about that. "This political activist has a right to his opinion. Whatever he plans to do, sabotage, blow up a Slymak factory, or whatever, it is none of our business. We will transport him back to the planet of the Flom to a location of his chosing. We will let him go. While on Starbase 99 things are getting normal again, on a different space station far away from Starbase 99, things are far from normal. Aboard the huge Deep Space 2, Admiral Arthur starts a new plan in case the encounter with the Flom, builders of the Slymak robots, fails. The Admiral sends out a message again. From Admiral Arthur, CO Deep Space 2 Begin Message Recently we have been confronted by a species called Slymak. The Slymak have entered our galaxy with only one purpose. They will destroy all life in this galaxy with huge ships called Galaxy Killers. These Slymak Galaxy Killers are travelling to the centre of the galaxy where they will send out a shock-wave to destroy all life in this galaxy. One of these Slymak Galaxy Killers is enough to do this. Currently there are hundreds of these Galaxy Killers on their way to the centre of the galaxy from all directions. We have plans to stop the Slymak, but it is all theory. Plans we executed failed. So currently there is no way to stop them. We don't think even the Borg cannot stop them or it will take them 20 years and a lot of casualties. We cannot take any chances. As soon as all life in this galaxy has been exterminated by the Slymak they will start taking all resources of the galaxy. At this time many Slymak scout ships are mapping this galaxy. We have engaged these scout ships. We did not lose all battles, but we are no match for them. Even a Klingon fleet of more than 50 ships tried to destroy a Slymak scoutship, but was destroyed in less than two minutes without even making a scratch on the Slymak ship. Some very advanced species we have been in contact with have advised us to evacuate the galaxy. To do this we have built a gateway portal, a super stargate, like an Iconian gateway, we are already using for evacuation of the galaxy to mainly Galaxy Messier 2 and Galaxy Messier 99, where we can start a new life. You are free to join us. Please note, the Federation Council still doesn't see the Slymak as a threat, but they are wrong. We have seen the Slymak threat with our own eyes. Even the Klingons are now using our super stargate to start evacuating the Klingon Empire to another galaxy. We even had contact with the Romulans, Cardassians and Ferengi. The Slymak threat is real. Although it will take the Slymak Galaxy Killers 25 years to reach the centre of our galaxy, they will and they will destroy this galaxy... If anyone of you has a plan to stop this Slymak threat, I am always interested. Even if it is very far fetched... End of message Players: JM, CP Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) Somewhere in the Galaxy... A replicator leaves building blocks on a Slymak ship. The object for the Borg Collective has changed a little bit. Knowing the Federation has traveled back in time a million years to the Flom homeworld, the Borg have to act... "We will send a ship a million years back in time to the Flom homeworld, assimilate them and the Federation bastards who we find there. Starfleet has made things supercomplicated with their attempt in changing the Flom-history." The borg have sent a sphere back in time following the starfleetinitiative, trying to arrive there back on the same space/time as they are. The conflict and tampering with the space/time resulted in the creation of an alternative timeling by which, over a million years ago, the synthetic-universe was created. That same universe where Coppelius androids tapped into when they open a gate and thus the synthetics are originating from Borg which evolved. On the other hand the starfleet/borg conflict in the past seems to be responsible for the agressive Slymak stands and evolution. The Federation ships at the Flom homeworld a million years ago, see the Borg sphere coming. They have no other choice than to leave the Flom system and hide from the Borg. They can only watch the Borg assimilate the Flom homeworld. It all happens extremely fast. Only an hour later the entire surface of the Flom homeworld has been completely destroyed. the Borg sphere returns to its own time, where changes in the time line have already taken place. Unknown to the Borg, thousands of meters below the surface on the Flom planet an even larger Flom population lives completely shielded for any sensors and produces Slymak robots. After the attack of the Borg, it has become clear to the Flom there is nothing left than revenge. Only an hour later the very first Slymak Galaxy Killer Robot is ready and even the Borg Collective cannot stop it... It is the beginning of the termination of galaxies by the Slymak robots. Only two thousand years later the first galaxy has already been destroyed. The Slymak Robots are on their way to the Galaxy where the Borg live. The number of Slymak robots is increasing exponentially. After two hundred thousand years, when the sixth galaxy is destroyed, there are already millions of Slymak robotic ships... The Borg Collective is the cause of the Flom and Slymak robots to become destructive... But the Borg do not think so. "So, in fact, Starfleet is responsible for this mess and genocide of countless starsystems. A next step in the psychological warfare against those earthlings and nicely fitting the Tal Shiar operation. We will succeed in taking control. Earth will fall and the alpha quadrant will be ours!" At the same time the Borg prepare to invade the Alpha quadrant again, they also continue with the chemical plan to destroy all Slymak robot ships. In the end it will work... in about 20 years... With the help of Comodore Oh's Tal Shiar spies more ionformation about the Federation comes in at the unicomplex. But the news looks bad. Most of the Alpha Quadrant has already been surrounded by Slymak ships. It will be very difficult even for the Borg to get even close to the Federation. Even the assimilation of the android technology on Coppelius has made a difference. And then suddenly a message comes in from Cube 2487. "We are Borg. The Slymak have found countermeasures against our chemical plan. Apparently during the assimilation of the Flom homeworld a million years ago there were still Flom somwhere who survived. They have downloaded our sphere's database and the Flom must have found that chemical plan. The Slymak robots have addapted." Is it possible to find the criminals who turned the Slymak robots into galaxy killers? When did that happen? A thousand years ago? Five thousand years ago? Ten thousand years ago? It is a good plan and the first steps are taken but... "Red alert! Red alert! All hands to battlestations! Borg sphere approaching. It is a Borg ship from our time..." "Have they seen us yet?" Aboard the Federation ship everyone is still shocked. Admiral Van Nieuwenhove gives his orders. We will search for surviving Flom here, a million years in the past. There will probably will not be any, but we never know." And the Admiral could be right. There are Flom in the current time. So there must have been survivors. Or maybe the Borg changed the future by desroying all Flom on their planet. Or maybe did the destruction of the Flom by the Borg end all Slymak activity in the current time. It is all very complicated. "Admiral we have scanned the planet of the Flom sir. There is no life on the planet. None. Not even a plant. I am sorry sir. There is nothing left. however there is... It is probably nothing sir." Everyone on the bridge looks at the young Lieutenant who is reporting clearly demanding more information. "Sir. I thought I saw a Federation ship sir. But I think it could be a reflection of our own ship. The Borg left a few transwarp residues..." It is not the first time the Borg try to alter history. But did it work this time? Maybe there are still Slymak ships in this region or Slymak robots of any kind in the region. What are you (GVN) going to do (More than one possibility is possible): Players: GVN USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective Spoiler alert! Attention! This part of the DS2 RPG contains spoilers for those who have not seen Star Trek Picard! It is now clear that the Borg are the cause of the Slymak becoming destructive. And the entire Borg Collective knows it. Somwhere in the galaxy a Slymak Battleship approaches a Borg planet. "We have been looking for you for a million years. You have tried to wipe us out of exsistance. Now you will be wiped out. There is nothing you can do to stop us. You will be destroyed." A moment later the Slymak battleship opens fire on Borg planet B-665. A moment later all life on the planet is completely gone... A moment later the Slymak battleship has left. The Borg now have information about the extreme powerful weapons of the Slymak. The Borg addapt their defensive systems. If they could now addapt their weapons as well... "We make a new plan..." The Borg were at first thinking of intervening again in the timeline and stop themselves but they conceived another plan, a final straw. "We will try contacting the alternate synthetic universe. They are very far Borg related and we will try to convince them to intervene. Ask them to work together and perhaps cheat them out of some tech, who knows, perhaps some might join the Borg, even voluntarly..." Somewhere in the galaxy... A Borg tactical cube travels to a distant region of space. Suddenly in the middle of nothing it stops. Out of the ship comes a small device which is activated. Above the Borg cube a rift opens. A large snake like synthetic life form comes out of the rift. "We are Borg. We need your help against the Slymak." The syntetic seems to be looking around. "You called? I see your problem. We have been fighting the Slymak for a million years. It is a stalemate. They cannot destroy us and we cannot destroy them. They wiped out all life forms in our Galaxy with their Slymak Galaxy Killer Ships, but we are synthetic so we survive. Keep attacking and keep addapting. You can also addapt to the destructive wave of the Slymak Galaxy Killer Ships. We will tell you how to do that." The Borg receive technical data from the Synthetics and other scematics to help in the fight against the Slymak and survive the Slymak Galaxy Killer Ships. But there is one very important advice from the synthetics. "You will not be able to win against the Slymak because they addapt as fast as you. But they cannot destroy you either. Captain Linda Tomanson in command of the USS Pegasus has asked to stay aboard Starbase 99. "Thank you sir." "The Elpaso and Arlington are on standby for checkup and update by Starbase personel. Comander Yorlan and T’Pau you are hereby promoted to Captain for duration of our intre stay here! Mr Sonak you are promoted to rank of captain of the Atlantis! And Comander Jones you are promoted to first officer." Commander Jones jumps to her feet. "Admiral!" A Federation ship of the 44th fleet is still close to the whiped out Flom home planet. But Admiral Steichen needs an advantage. She calls her friends, the Lorem. "You called? Ah I see. Problems with the Flom's Slymak. They are a plague aren't they. As a friend of mine once said, with the Slymak you only have a few choices. The Lorem can destroy all Slymak. But we will not, because the Q-continuum would never agree and bring them back. But you are in luck. You have a few units of the artificial intelligence Replicators species. These machines can destroy Slymak easily. But you have to have enough of them. Now you don't have enough of them. You can ask the the few of the Replicators species to build more. It is a time consuming process. Oh buy wait. Horkan has billions of units of the artificial intelligence Replicators species. Oh wait. Horkan has already started his offensive against the Slymak. He and the Replicaters species have already destroyed 10 percent of the Slymak forces." A fast calculation done by the Lorem makes it clear this Horkan and his artificial intelligence Replicators species takes less than a year to eliminate all Slymak in the Galaxy in one year. "If Horkan keeps all the borders of the galaxy closed, this galaxy will be free of the Slymak threat. Do you have any idea what I am talking about? Never mind. This Horkan is a Hirogen on the hunt for Slymak. And they are doing a great job really. Our advice is that you evacuate to another galaxy for a year or so and wait until Horkan and his artificial intelligence Replicators species have whiped out the Slymak. By the time you have built enough artificial intelligence Replicators species yourself, Horkan has already finished the job." It is as if the Lorem are still thiking, but there is nothing more to say. The Lorem themselves cannot interfere. There doesn't seem to be another sollution. It will take some time before all Borg ships, planets and facilities have been addapted, but eventually they will be. So the Borg Collective will be safe if a Slymak Galaxy Killer Ship activates its weapon. We will share this technology with the other species in the galaxy. We will then use this as a grand gesture of good will to the other races and continue operating with the Tal Shiar. By asking forgiveness the Slymak might consider stopping their killing spree. Who knows, this might even work. Should they accept then the whole plot to take over Starfleet thickens?? If it doesn’t help, nothing is lost either. But think of the smokescreen we created around our secret ops." The Borg Collective has a huge advantage while working together with the Syntetics. It doesn't take long before the Borg can addapt all the Slymak can throw at them. The Talaxians are the first species who are offered the Borg technology to protect themselves against the Slymak Galaxy Killer ships and their weapon. Then the Krenim, even the Vaudwaar and the Kobali. The Borg Collective contacts the species of the Alpha and beta Quadrant to offer those species their technology. It is not clear who will use the technology. But not all species can be contacted by the Borg Collective. And even the Borg Collective is surprised when Federation communications are intercepted which report several incidents of an unknown species destroying Slymal ships like if it is no trouble at all. At the same tiume a report is recieved from the space station Deep Space 2, confirming Messier 2 Galaxy is free of Flom or Slymak presence. Players: NP USS Atlantis/Starbase 99 As Starbase 99 gets a new Commanding Officer, Rear Admiral Tom Walker, and the crew of the Starbase is ready for new orders. Not far away from Starbase 99, a small group of unidentified ships attack a Slymak robot scout ship. The Slymak ship is destroyed in a matter of seconds. Could the Slymak threat to the Galaxy be over? And than there are reports coming in from other regions from Federation ships who have to flee from Slymak robot ships which attack them. Players: JM & CP Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) The hunt for Slymak continues for Horkan and his Replicators. Almost 10 percent of the millions of Slymak robotic ships have already been destroyed. But the Slymak ships are spread all over the galaxy, usually totally alone and are no match for the Replicator ships. Horkan is praised for this exceptional hunt. Players: TvR DS2 RPG General Status Report October 2020 USS Earth/Starbase 44 After consulting with the Lorem, Admiral Steichen in command of Starbase 44 and the 44th fleet, comes up with a new plan. "We have Replicators yourself. We trust those Replicators. We will let the Replicators build thousands or even millions of Replicators. It can be the only way to end the Slymak threat. It will take time." It will take time indeed, but not as much as Admiral Steichen and her engineers had expected. After only a few days there are already thousands of Human like Replicators and even a few huge Replicators ships. They live up to their name. They replicate. A few days later the first Replicator ships are already on their way to come into action against the Slymak ships. Only a day later the first Slymak ships are already destroyed. Thousands of Human like Replicators and even a more and more huge Replicators ships are built in one week. After then days the results of the actions of the Artificial Intelligence Replicators speak for themselves. At least thirty Slymak ships have been destroyed and an entire region can be declared safe. "Admiral, things are going really well, but we are not there yet. It could take a few years before these Replicators have eliminated all Slymak." Patience seems to be a key. And then there is the Replicator which calls itself John. John has a request. "Admiral. Thank you for giving us a chance to prove ourselves. I speak for all the Replicators in this region. We have a leader. His name is Horkan. We would like you to contact Horkan. You can do that through me. I will take care of the communication channel. And there is another thing. Horkan leads millions of Replicators. We would like to join Horkan's group after we have eliminated the Slymak from this galaxy. We will keep this galaxy free from Slymak for ever. Can you promise you will let us go free after we have eliminated the Slymak from this galaxy?" Players: CS Starbase 88 In a galaxy very closeby, a million years ago. A Federation ship of the 88th fleet, USS Mexico, is searching for traces of the Slymak to stop the Slymak. The creators of the Slymak, a species called Flom, has been completely whiped out by the Borg who traveled to the past, to change the past. The Borg also are a victim of the Slymak. How this Borg action in the past has changed the current timeline is still unknown to the Federation team aboard the USS Mexico. Some think that if they return to the current time everything will be Borg. But Admiral Van Nieuwenhove does not give up. "We will continue the search even if it takes another 10 years. Time is on your side as we are a million years in the past." And so the search for Slymak or Flom starts. Grid by grid. The search pattern is executed with precision. But no traces of Slymak or Flom are found. Captain Sigrid Johansson has a new report for the Admiral. "Admiral. We have not found any traces of the Flom or their robotic Slymak yet. We did however find three inhabited planets, but the species living on those planets are in what we would call the stoneage. In the year we have been crossing so many sectors already that we are so far from the destroyed Flom homeworld, the following grids we are going to search are most likely no longer possible contacts or trade partners of the Flom. I don't say we should give up hope, and here in the past time is not really an issue, but we cannot search forever. To be honest sir..." On the bridge of the USS Mexico the operations officer pushes a big red button. "Admiral, Captain, long range sensors detect an unkonown ship of unknown origin. It is a huge ship. It is exactly 48 times the size of our ship. We don't have enough information yet to determine who this is and where this ship came from. Sir, they seem to try to contact us." "On screen." On the main viewer a man appears. "I am Xthen. Federation ship USS Mexico. You do not belong in this time. I know you have problems with the Slymak. We are currently winnning the war against the Slymak in your current time, which is also our current time. You will not be in any danger if you travel to your current time to these coordinates. That is a region without any Slymak activity and is under our control. We will open a rift so you can travel back to where you belong." The channel closes. Apparently this Xthen does not want an answer. Not far from the USS Mexico a rift in time and space opens. Captain Sigrid Johansson turns to Admiral Van Nieuwenhove. "Admiral, it is very strange this Xthen has found us. It could be a coincidence. But the way he wants to send us back to our own time does not seem to be to help us, but to get us out of his way. The least he could have done is tell us who he is, where does he come from, how did he find us? I think this Xthen has a hidden agenda. But to be honest Admiral. If we would end up in a fight with Xthen's ship, I don't think we stand a chance." Players: GVN USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective Spoiler alert! Attention! Players: JM & CP Ovion (Hirogen/Ori/Replicator Vessel) The hunt for Slymak continues for Horkan and his Replicators. Almost 27 percent of the millions of Slymak robotic ships have already been destroyed. These Replicators are artificial intelligence creatures which come in all forms and shapes. They even look like humans and Federation technology cannot distinguish the difference with biological humans. Horkan has sent a female looking Replicator with the name Herta to Deep Space 2. Herta has a short meeting with Admiral Arthur which is concluded with the cooperation between a huge number of Deep Space 2 droids and Horkan's Replicators to eliminate the Slymak. This cooperation will speed up the destruction of everything Slymak. Players: TvR DS2 RPG General Status Report November 2020 USS Earth/Starbase 44 Admiral Steichen has decided to engage Artificial Intelligence Replicators to eliminate the Slymak threat. "As long as these Artificial Intelligence Replicators only destroy the Slymak, we don't have to worry about a thing. But we do worry. What if this gets out of control? What if these Artificial Intelligence Replicators after eliminating the Slymak conquer the galaxy themselves? "We will send a ship to investigate this species that can destroy Slymak ships like they are just insects and try to continue to work together with the synthetic universe. We will keep on trying to infiltrate all the core planets in the Sol-system and try to increase efforts to place more agents on Andor. The Andorians might serve as a great backdoor." While some Tal Shiar and synthetic spies are on their way to their destinations, some have already arrived. But as the mission is gathering information, the Borg investigate in many ways. Far away from the USS Cleveland, Horkan is watching his Replicators destroy one Slymak ship after another. He is very pleased. Things have turned around against the Slymak. It is only a matter of time. Players: TvR DS2 RPG General Status Report December 2020 USS Earth/Starbase 44 On patrol the USS Baltimore, under command of Captain Raven, there is no longer the fear for the Slymak. This sector has been declared clear of Slymak, thanks to an artificial species who call themselves Replicators. Their leader is a Hirogen called Horkan. It is clear this Hirogen and his friends have started the big hunt on Slymak. These Hirogen must have the time of their life, doing exactly what they have been dreaming of. The biggest hunt ever. But also the droids of Deep Space 2 have been very busy. They have already cleared twenty sectors. But aboard the USS Baltimore tension is rising again. The ship approaches the sector border. The next sector has not yet been cleared. But Captain Raven does not seem to be disturbed. by the idea that his ship and crew might encounter Slymak ships. "Helm, steady as she goes." "Aye sir. Proceeding at warp five, Our ETA is sixteen hours." "Number One, any word from the colony?" "Not for six hours sir. But currently the colony is on the night side of the planet. We don't expect to hear from them for at least two hours." "Very well. Any ships on long range sensors?" "That is a negative sir. There is nothing." "That is the way we like it Number One. You have the bridge. Report anything unusual. I will be in my ready room." "Understood sir." Captain Raven stands up and walks into his ready room where he reads the last of the reports on the exploration of the Messier 2 Galaxy, Messier 99 Galaxy and Messier 66 Galaxy. Raven had some doubt to evacuate from his home galaxy. But just at the moment he wanted to consult his officers whether to evacuate or not, the good news came in of the species who can blow the Slymak out of space without any problems at all. So Captain Raven decided to at least postpone his talks about a possible evacuation to another galaxy. Now the crew of the USS Baltimore, on its way to the Lamar Colony, was thankful for the unexpected help of these Replicators. Captain Raven took a sip of his orange juice. It had been a long day, but he still felt fit. And he would need that in an emergency. "Yellow alert! Captain to the bridge!" It took Captain Raven only a few sconds to get on the bridge. "Yes Number One?" "Sir we are picking up five Slymak ships. These Slymak ships are much bigger than the usual Slymak ships." "These must be their cruisers or battleships." "That is a possibility sir. We have already reported this to the nearest starbase. That is Deep Space 2. They say that these bigger ships have been detected in other sectors as well. So we are not the first to see them. Sir, to be honest, I don't think we can do anything against five of those Slymak ships. But I think they haven't seen us yet. They are not changing course or anything." "That is good. Keep our distance, but keep them in sensor range. I don't like surprises." "Aye sir. Wait a minute. There is something happening sir." "What is it Number One?" "There is another ship. It is not in our database. It is attacking the Slymak ships sir." "If we offer our assistance, I am afraid we are not going to..." "I don't think they need our assistance sir. That ship just destroyed those Slymak ships in less than twenty seconds. The ship has cloaked or something. It appeared out of nowhere and it disappeared into nowhere. Sir I hate it when somebody has to clean up a mess for us, but in this case the help was really welcome." "Absolutely Number One. I totally agree. Let's proceed to the colony. Helm resume course. Execute." Still in the same galaxy, but far far away from the USS Baltimore on Starbase 44, Admiral Steichen is optimistic. "These Artificial Intelligence Replicators are on their way to destroy the Slymak and therefore the Slymak threat could end sooner than everyone thinks. We will start exploring the galaxy again. Part of the galaxy is already free from Slymak." As soon as other species in the region realise the Slymak threat gets smaller by the day, requests are coming in at Starbase 44. More than 100 ships of the 44th fleet have regrouped close to Starbase 44. They are ready to start missions again. Slowly life as it was resumes. Execute." Again the ship that helped the USS Baltimore this time was also the same design as the ship of Xthen. Xthen appears on the viewer. "I hope I can convince you with these examples that you need to go back to your own time. I hope you will do that." Players: GVN USS Thunderbolt/The Borg Collective Spoiler alert! Attention! This part of the DS2 RPG contains spoilers for those who have not seen Star Trek Picard! More ships of the Federation has a Tal Shiar spy aboard who sends everything he hears and sees to his superiors, who send it to Commodore Oh, who sends it to the Borg. One of those ships is the USS Baltimore. On patrol the USS Baltimore, under command of Captain Raven, there is no longer the fear for the Slymak. "We will try to assimilate this species that can destroy Slymak ships like they are just insects. This could be very dangerous. We could end up in a war with them. And as we know, they destroy Slymak without any trouble. So they could destroy us, the Borg, wihtout any trouble too. No risk fort he weary but we must absolutely know more of them. If it isn’t possible to assimilate the new species then we will try again to assimilate Slymaks and have them then taken by that new specias. Use the Slymaks as a carrier for the Borg Nannites. Or try to have Master One contact them." The first Borg ships which encounter a ship of this unknown species are completely vaporized, just like the Slymak ships. It doesn't take long before a report from Master One comes in at the Borg Unicomplex "I have tried everything. This species cannot be talked to, cannot be assimilated, cannot be destroyed. But they gave me a message to give to the entire Borg Collective. Their species is called Replicators. They say to leave them alone and let them do their thing. If not, they will do the same to the Borg Collective as what they are doing to the Slymak. I believe them. Using Slymak ships as bait to get Borg nanites aboard on one of the Replicators ships fails. It is even worse. Everytime we have tried it, the Slymak ship turns into a Replicator ship. Apparently this species knows a lot about assimilation too. At this time I must confess, I do not see a way to assimilate these Replicators. I am even afraid to say, they will assimilate the Borg." At the same time another plan of the Borg has been set in motion. "The Tal Shiar are great at their job and are establishing excellent footholds at different occasions. Perhaps throw commander Oh some bones and reward her with something. Make her some promisses. Power is the best aphrodisiac. Get those Tal Shiar even tob e more fanatic then the zelots they already are. Play them as they infiltrate more and more facilities and governments." This plan has more success. Federation, Vulcan, Andorian, even Klingon facilities now have infiltrated Tal Shiar spies. Maybe it is time to get those Tal Shiar spies on high positions.
