RPG Status Report January 1999 USS Charlemagne The voyage of the USS Milon to Starbase 2 will take almost up to 7 hours and ensign Christine Steichen can use this time to recuperate and sort out some things. She accesses the Milon computer, but the files she finds about the alien energy form don't make her a lot wiser. On arival ensign Christine arives in her temporary quarters. As soon as she arrives one of the Starbase 2 operations officers brings her information about your next assignment. Steichen who now has a choice of duty as the only survivor of the USS Miramar incident, takes the USS Charlemagne as her next ship on a mission of science and exploration. But before leaving for her new assignment, Ensign Steichen accesses the starbase's database to search for any further clues on the alien lights. The Mok For the Mok this is alien space and commander Marok decides that it is better not to act like a spy and his ship does not cloak. Most systems run on automated computer guidance, and only a few systems run on manual, with most important the tactical weapon and defense systems. The Mok continues on the journey and LT Geert Van Nieuwenhove gets to know Marok a little bit better. Although their politics are totally different, Marok is just a man like anyone else, with a family at home. Marok gives Geert access to some of the files on the alien energy waves and Geert discovers that also other parts of this side of the galaxy, are in danger. Just when the two think the chances of encountering an alien energy wave, are very small, it happens. Marok recognises the wave imediately from the sensor logs of the Mok and activates the cloaking device. The cloak doesn't seem to help as the wave changes course towards the Mok. Geert advices to try to escape from the wave. Ostend Seaside LT Mechels explains that he and his crew are waiting for the USS Miramar, but that there is no sign of this ship. The Starbase 2 communications officer explains that the USS Miramar is not coming and that LT Mechels and his crew have to set course to Starbase 2, to receive new orders. The voyage takes almost 24 hours and LT Mechels uses this time to look up some files on the Miramar. After reading the files LT Mechels informs his crew that there is a dangerous alien species in Federation space and that they must avoid to make contact with this species. The journey is smooth, without any incidents and after 22 hours the Ostend Seaside arrives in Starbase 2 space dock where LT Mechels has a choice of duty. The Ostend Seaside will dock in the shuttlebay of another ship. USS Baltimore The away team which goes to Baldhom is under command of the first officer of the USS Baltimore, Harry Beltman. Everyone knows that this is a dangerous mission. No away team has ever returned from the Baldhom surface, and although all sensor readings indicate that planet Baldhom is a planet on which conditions are such that humanoids can live on the planet without any significant problems, USS Baltimore captain Jesse Tenor has ordered that the away team can only visit the planet wearing protected clothing. Baldhom is a beautiful planet. A real paradise, but no animal live and one dangerous species luring everywhere. This is the creature which has to be examined as it's structure looks the most like the alien waves which have invaded the human part of the galaxy. That is why the away team, including LT Hendriks start to take samples and initiate all kinds of tests on the species known as D-4589. But around midday when a first scientist falls down and dies. When a second Baltimore scientist gets sick half an hour later, the first officer and captain agree that the away team should stay on the planet, but captain Jesse Tenor wants to take the risk of getting one of the scientists aboard the Baltimore hoping that a medical team can find a cure for this illness. LT Hendriks volonteers to go back to the Baltimore. USS Vertigo Ensign Matz is assigned to the USS Vertigo, together with Jack London and some other officers who volonteered she is transported aboard the USS Vertigo, one of the more heavy battle ships of the fleet. This is a ship that has a crew with only one purpose: Fighting. It is a very experienced crew as the new officers soon enough find out when they are confronted with the senior staff which consists of very high ranking officers. As the Vertigo leaves Starbase 2 spacedock, they have the feeling that it will take some time before you will return here. Ensign Matz and Jack London are assigned as mission specialists as they have encountered the dangerous aliens before but they will be assigned for normal ship duty until the aliens are encountered. After meeting with commanding officer commodore Jeffrey Slater, both are assigned to the engineering division. USS Miramar General Fujimori orders LT crow and his team to take the USS Miramar to the planet Baldhom. Just as LT Crow's team starts on finding a methode to stop the alien waves, the USS Miramar encounters one of the waves. LT Crow sends out a probe, because it is never smart to attack something you don't know. At the same time LT Crow executes evasive actions to try to stay out of the alien's range and in addition the marine LT searches for an alternative course to Baldhom. There are some things LT Crow's team try to find out: where is the wave comming from, is it related to the alien lights the team met before on the first visit on the Miramar. Because nobody can help LT Crow, he is getting a bit worried. He has to make a choice in escaping and rendez-cous with the Baltimore or study the wave. He decides to study the wave and contact General Fujimori for further instructions. RPG Status Report February 1999 USS Charlemagne Ensign Christine Steichen is able to download seven files about the alien wave, but she can only read them when she has arived on the USS Charlemagne. There will be no time to study them on Starbase 2. Captain Heinz Derick has requested for Steichen's presence as the mission of the Charlemagne is taking the ship to an area where the Miramar and the Mississippi encountered the alien wave. When she finally has the time Christine has time to look at the retrieved files. Four of the seven files are encrypted and she doesn't have the proper security clearance to decrypt them. The three other files refer to the planet Baldhom, where a primitive but similar energy life form exsists. From the files she finds out that all Starfleet officers of the away teams to the planet Baldhom have been lost or have died. At this time there is an away team on Baldhom from the USS Baltimore under command of captain Jesse Tenor. When Christine examines the files carefully she finds one and the same name on all crew manifests of the ships which visited Baldhom: Jok. No rank, no position. Red Alert! Ensign Steichen hurries to the bridge where the captain addresses her and asks for her advice. An alien wave is comming towards the USS Charlemagne. The ensign advices the captain to study the wave as long as possible and than run, after which a probe should be send to relay more information. The Mok As the wave matches the speed and course of the Mok, LT Geert Van Nieuwenhove cannot surpress the idea that this is an intelligence. Marok agrees. This is certainly not a natural fenomena. Marok tries everything to get away from the wave, but all his efforts are in vain. Marok engages a Romulan top secret device. LT Geert helps Marok to engage the device, but all of it seems to be trap. After Marok and Geert split up, Marok vanishes. That damn ... The device is already activated and starts the autodestruct sequence. After an exhausting run through the ship, Geert manages to cancel the autodestruct sequence. Just as he thought he was save, Geert looks at the main screen and imediately remembers the wave which is comming his way. But the wave has stopped. It is not comming closer. Geert uses the time to scan the ship for Marok, but there is no result. His shuttle is gone too. Then suddenly without any warning LT Geert is contacted by the wave telepaticly. Of course the officer asks the wave what it wants. USS Poland As the USS Charlemagne is already on her way LT Mechels and his team cannot board on the science vessel. In stead they board on the USS Poland, another science ship. This is the first voyage of the Poland and the crew is not really experienced. The addition of the more experienced team of LT Mechels to the crew of the Poland is very welcome. LT Mechels is apointed as the chief of security. Ensign Els Antwerps and Ensign Leeloo Brussels will serve in operations and Ensign Will Brussels will serve in engineering. It seems a bit strange that most of the senior officers are young and seem not to have to much experience. When LT Mechels, as security chief, has the job to review the personel files, he finds out that for some senior officers it is only the second or third mission. Even the captain has only six years on his record. The first few hours on duty some strange things happen. The captain changes the orderes received by Head Quarters, sets the ship on another course, and ignores all the advice from his officers. He shouts at the doctor who asks him to come to sickbay and refuses to go. After his duty and only a day aboard the USS Poland, security chief LT Mechels is approached by the first officer lieutenant commander Charly Main. The XO explains that the captain has been acting strangely from the day that he came aboard. The XO has had it with this captain and has talked to the doctor. Both find that the captain behaves strangely and should be removed from command. All senior officers are backing up this "mutiny". You were not aboard during the last few months so the XO has to ask you what the new chief of security thinks. He needs the support of security. LT Mechels ignores what the XO said and warns him that security will intervene in case of mutiny. USS Baltimore On arival on the Baltimore LT Hendriks is placed in a containment field. Captain Jesse Tenor has ordered all possible security and medical precautions. After a few scans, doctor Truman can only conclude that LT Hendriks has been infected by species D-4589. There is little time to find a cure, but the doctor has some luck as well. It is not certain whether her treatment worked or whether it is something else, but suddenly there is no sign of species D-4589 in LT Hendriks' body. The doctor still wants to keep her in the containment field. All the medical data are send to the Baldhom away team, and the necessary equipment is transported down to the planet to save the away team members. As LT Hendriks is waiting in the containment field, she notices a small blue light, in the upper right corner of the field, trying to get out. The light cannot go through the forcefield. The doctor comes as fast as pssible and calls security. When security runs in accompanied by the captain, the captain makes it clear to LT Hendriks that she has a decision to make. LT Hendriks asks to investigate what this light is, nomatter what ! USS Vertigo Day One Things are going smoothly in engineering of the USS Vertigo. Chief engineer commander Tony Camero is one of the best engineers in the fleet. The ensigns Matz and London learn a lot during the days thay are on duty. Day Three The crew of the Vertigo under command of commodore Slater is really examplary. But the duties are exhausting as well. Lots of battle drills are performed and systems seem to be upgraded all the time. Day Five Every day there is something new added to the ship's defensive and offensive systems. Day Six This is the day the ensigns Matz and London are invited to the senior staff meeting. Where the commodore seems to have some questions. There is a lot of talk about the lights and the possible relation with the alien waves. Commodore Slater explains that there is also a marine investigation, to learn more about this energy waves. Day Eight Red Alert ! An unknown vessel has entered our space. The Vertigo is on an intercept course. The commander of that vessel has some explaining to do. USS Miramar LT Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 49038B16: Seeing as how this energy wave consumes all the shields energy, it is my understanding to come to a full stop and shut down every system available. I think that, because it is an energy wave, it takes all the energy of others to stay alive. Therefore we are shutting down every system and we are not going to flee and not shooting a torpedo. I ordered corporal Bell to make the ship's systems so that they can receiv or take energy from the energy wave. But all of this has never been done before so we don't know whether it will work, but we have no choice. Corporal Bell has configured the ship so it is one huge energy absorbing machine and we are now waiting to be struck by the energy wave. We still have 5 minutesleft and I have sent a message to general Fujimori to explain to him what we are going to do. Realising what would happen if this works gets me a bit excited, and that has been a long time ago, since I felt this way. But first things first. I don't know whether it will work, we still have to wait another 2 minutes before the energy wave strikes. Corporal Bell reports, that he has discovered the energy wave frequency. That brings a whole lot of possiblities on the table. Now all we have to do is wait and see of our little idea works. RPG Status Report March 1999 USS Charlemagne The USS Charlemagne speeds up and the crew has time to examine the results of the probe's scanning of the alien wave. The structure of the wave consists of small balls of light, which look alot like the ones ensign Steichen has seen on the USS Miramar. There are only two colors: red and yellow. Christine tells the captain about the name she found in the files: Jok. The captain is very pleased that she has taken initiative, calls chief of security LT Walter and lets him examine the files, and search all databases for the name: Jok. The wave has swallowed the Charlemagne probe. The science division has enough information to study the fenomena. Although a suspicious vessel has just has entered friendly space and could form a threat, Captain Derick asks his division heads and you for advice first. Ensign Steichen advices the captain to proceed to Baldhom. Is this wave more important than a possible invasion ? The Mok The wave consists of yellow and red small balls of light. The yellow lights are the ones who speak to LT Geert. The aliens clame that the officer has a fugitive of their species aboard the Mok. They promise not to harm the lieutenant, but they have to capture the fugitive. Geert realises that this message sounds a bit like: lower your shields, you will be assimilated... but he doesn't have al the data yet to make a decision. Just when he wants to ask this wave where they are from and who the fugitive is, he hears another voice in his head which says something about Cordions and lies. Geert realises that this must be the fugitive talking to him, although you cannot see it. So this yellow-red wave calls itself the Cordions. the lieutenant addresses the Cordions and asks why they are hunting a fugitive and why some of the ships of the Federation have been attacked. The Cordions insist that they have to capture the fugitive and that is all there is to it. This time there is some threat in the alien's voice. The question is, who is the good, who is the bad, but one thing is sure, things could get ugly. Geert decides to let the wave on the ship. USS Poland LT Mechels is visited by doctor Benson. He tells the chief of security more or less the same thing as the XO. LT Mechels still refuses to participate in a mutiny based on prejudice ideas. Something is about to happen ... All four of the new officers aboard the USS Poland agree not to participate in a mutiny, and they all return to their duties. When LT Mechels arives on the bridge he is a witness of a dissagreement between XO lieutenant commander Charly Main and captain Klimber. The argument is about the fact that engineering is a mess and the XO hasn't done anything about it. LT Mechels releaves the tactical officer, ensign Carin Fiola. Suddenly Chief of Operations, LT Elisabeth Taylor has a weapon in her hand and fires at ensign Fiola, who falls on the floor. She is dead. LT Mechels doesn't hesitate, gets his weapon from the drawer in the console awfully fast and stunnes LT Taylor. Before he can shoot again, he has to take cover as he is under fire from helmsman Guy Bandito. The four security officers enter the bridge weapons in their hands, but three of them switch sides and the captain is shot. He is vaporised. Now it is time to get off the bridge. One faithfull security officer jumps with LT Mechels into the turbolift. Ensign Malory, who accompanies LT Mechels, explains that there are only two other security officers faithfull to the captain: ensign Tomar and chief Condor. Malory stops the lift and when LT Mechels gets out he sees Els, Will and Leeloo waiting for him and ensign Malory with the Tomar and Condor. The group decides to make a run for it, disabeling the internal sensors. They will try to reach the shuttle bay to escape. USS Baltimore A complete science team is surrounding the forcefield in which LT Hendriks is captured with the alien blue light. The scientists have not gathered enough information yet, but when the blue light split into two balls of light, things seem to get serious. Only a moment later there are four and eight and sixteen of them. LT Hendriks sees that the scientists are getting nervous, and just when all hope seems to have vanished the captain orders the security forces to stand ready to fire. The tension is increasing. Suddenly LT Hendriks hears a voice in her head. The aliens are trying to communicate with her telepaticly. The aliens want to take over LT Hendriks body to communicate with the others outside the force field. The captain refuses to give you an order of how to proceed. LT Hendriks decides that her life is not that important and she is curious to know what this is all about. The aliens don't seem malicious to her. So she agrees to let the aliens take over her body. USS Vertigo Day 9 The USS Vertigo is closing in on the intruding vessel which has entered our space without permission. Day 10, 12:06 Long range sensors show the intruder. It appears to be drifting. Day 10, 14:16 There is something strange going on on the intruder. Energy levels are fluctuating. Day 10, 15:01 The Ship is identified as the Mok. The Mok does not reply on any hails. USS Miramar LT Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 49638D46: Seeing how the wave suddenly stopped and turned around, let's me think that this is an intelligent life form. Knowing that the USS Vertigo is on an intercept course with a vessel which intruded our space, it seems to me that whatever is aboardthat vessel is to some interest of the enrgy wave. And it is also better that there are two starships, so we can watch eachother's back. So I let corporal Bell set an intercept course to the USS Vertigo and in the mean time we are trying to learn more about the energy wave. We have all systems back on line and we can follow the wave. I have sent a message to the general, informing him of my decision. I have the feeling interesting things are about to happen. Knowing that the energy wave seems to know what we were going to do, let's me believethat our first idea was correct. I have sent a message to the USS Vertigo to tell what we are going to do. Now the Vertigo also has a defence against the energy wave. While we wait to rendez-vous with the USS Vertigo, I try to get some sleep. RPG Status Report April 1999 USS Charlemagne The USS Charlemagne is now on her way to Baldhom. The captain has put Baldhom as his absolute priority number one. The solving of the mystery of the alien waves has to be there. Although the USS Baltimore is already on her way with the investigation, the captain of the Baltimore has called for help and specialised personel and equipment. The alien waves could be a threat for the entire Federation and there is nothing more important than the safety of the Federation. Chief of Security LT Walter meets with ensign Steichen to take her to the captain's ready room and reports what the security team has found out about Jok. Jok was a scientific madman. His theories to combine energy and matter were totally absurd and he was kicked out of the Federation science academy 16 years ago. It is possible he has something to do with Baldhom and species D-4589, which was found there. But Jok has been last seen on Krandar III, only four months ago. It should be possible to find his whereabouts. When Captain Derick asks you what his officers think, Steichen suggests to proceed to Krandar III to gain information about Jok. The Mok As soon as LT Geert has lowered the shields the bridge of the Mok is filled with yellow and red balls of light. One of the yellow lights approaches the officer and communicates with him telepathicly. The fugitive will be found soon and we will leave you in peace. That is the message. Still LT Geert has some questions about where the Cordions come from and how their society works. He is not satisfied with the answers of the Cordions. But then things take a unexpected turn. The fugitive seems to be no longer on this protected ship. He has escaped. The telepathic voice is poundering the young lieutenant's head. He doesn't have the answer either and just when he is getting annoyed by the Cordions one of the alerts sounds. Not really familiar with the Mok's alerts, Geert has to look on several different consoles to see what is going on. Two vessels are approaching. The alien life form tells Geert to stop them ! The Cordion's voice in Geert's head almost causes his head to explode. Just when he thought he was going to be rescued by his fellow officers, these Cordions are going to fight. Something is terribly wrong. Geert will try to get the communication systems working and call the approaching ships. USS Poland The small group of LT Mechels runs from deck to deck, with security troops following them and trying to block the way with setting up forcefields. But with the internal sensors still off line, LT Mechels and his friends can access the shuttlebay easily. There is the Ostend Seaside. All seven of them jump into the small ship's open door and LT Mechels starts up the systems while ensigns Tomar and Condor watch for security. Only a moment later the ship comes up from the shuttlebay floor and goes directly towards the shuttlebay door. The door opens just in time to let the runabout into space. The Ostend Seaside is clear to navigate and disappears. Ensign Malory brings the communication systems on line but before Malory can send a message an incomming message appears on the screen. Incomming Message: From USS Poland First officer: lieutenant commander Charly Main Our commanding Officer, captain John Klimber has been killed by rebelious officers, who tried to take over our ship: Ensign Els Antwerps, Ensign Leeloo Brussels,Ensign Will Brussels, Ensign Malory, ensign Tomar, chief Condor. We believe that this group is under leadership of LT Guillaume Mechels, who has fired his weapon at the captain. The group has sabotaged our and warp drive and escaped with the Runabout USS Ostend Seaside. All caution is adviced. End of message Although the group of fugitives could be in a lot of trouble, they decide to turn themselves in, with the risk of being thrown in the brig. USS Baltimore LT Hendriks has agreed to let the blue aliens take over her body and one of the alien lights enters her chest. It is not painful and although LT Hendriks thought the alien would take over and she would be put aside, it seems that LT Hendriks still has control over Her body and she can talk to the alien, but also to the other officers around her. Then the alien starts to speak, using her mouth. "We are Cordions. We have been captured and imprisonned on this rock for thousands of years. We were innocent, but to save our race, we had to comply with the punishment the other Cordions have put on us. We deeply regret that we could not warn any visitor about this prison, and many of these visitors have lost their lives. We can never forgive ourselves for this. We have done nothing wrong in our home system, but the red and yellow Cordions have treated our blue minority as slaves and discriminated us through out the centuries. One day, long ago, a human like yourself came to our system. His name was Jok. He convinced the red and yellow Cordions to get rid of us. He had the perfect place as a prison. This place to where we have been banned. We had to live here like non energy life forms. The red and yellow Cordions are now in your territory. They are on their way to conquer the Galaxy as this is what Jok had told them to do. The power hungry red and yellow Cordions agreed to this evil plan and are now executing their war campaign. There are only a few of the red and yellow Cordion platoons in this part of the Galaxy, but our advice is to stop them and drive them back where they came from. We are convinced that they are misguided by this human called Jok, but we are afraid that there is no way back." LT Hendriks asks the captain to investigate more to find out who is good and who is bad of these Cordions and get more information about this human Jok. USS Vertigo Day 10, 15:49 Commodore Slater and his staff have decided to destory the Mok. Sensor results are inconclusive, but there is no option. Day 10, 16:06 Incomming Message from the USS Miramar. The Miramar is on her way to the Vertigo to intercept the intruder. Technical details about protection against the alien waves, is uploaded to the USS Vertigo Main computer. Day 10, 16:57 The last possible moment for suggestions is now. It is clear now that the alien lights and the alien waves are related, maybe even the same. In one minute the Vertigo and the Miramar will be in firing range of the intruder vessel Mok. USS Miramar The USS Miramar makes contact with the USS Vertigo and exchange of ideas is one of the first things to do. Commodore Slater of the Vertigo already has decided not to take any chances and attack the intruding ship, Mok, as soon as the warbird is in firing range. Communications have been tried, but there is no answer. The alien energy wave which the Miramar has followed has surrounded the intruding ship and has penetrated it's hull and has disapeared. It is most likely that now two alien waves have captured the intruders. The last possible moment for suggestions is now. On the bridge of the Vertigo, two officers have arrived. They are much younger than the senior staff. Lieutenant Jack London and ensign Matz also have encountered the same alien lights as the marine team of LT Crow on the Miramar. It is clear now that the alien lights and the alien waves are related, maybe even the same. In one minute the Vertigo and the Miramar will be in firing range of the Romulan intruder vessel Mok. RPG Status Report May 1999 USS Charlemagne The USS Charlemagne is in standard orbit of Krandar III. Strangely enough chief of operations LT Guillome reports that there are no life signs. There should be as this planet was populated by almost four hundred million people. There were at least twelve large cities. More strange is that there are no satelites in orbit. There should be. All structures seem to be intact. No damage at all. This new situation on Krandar III has to be reported to Starfleet Command. When communications are established, there is also an interesting message from the Baltimore comming in. The crew of the Baltimore have some kind of telepathic contact with aliens who seem to be from the same origin than the alien waves. This life forms call themselves the Cordions. There is also some information that the Cordions have met this Jok thousands years ago or even more. This doesn't seem possible as Jok was seen only four months ago on Krandar III. BUt now every little life form has vannished from Krandar's surface. Scans below the surface indicate that even there is no life. Messages from the USS Miramar are comming in with new information of shield frequencies, which should be very effective against these alien waves. Then LT Guillome discoveres a structure of unknown origin. First officer lieutenant commander Hanno Live selects chief of security LT Danny Walter, Doctor Norma Jenner and Ensign Steichen to go to the surface. The XO believes that Steichen's experience can help in this matter. The structure is a small cubic shaped building and when the four officers enter there is no room for anyone else. Just as commander Live wants to report in the away team is hailed from the ship. The Charlemagne is under attack by several of these alien waves. The crew has tried the new shield frequencies. They seem to be working, but there are to many of these waves. Six or seven of them... Suddenly it is silent. Lieutenant commander Hanno Live says a few words about serving with captain Derick and what an excellent crew was serving on the USS Charlemagne. The Charlemagne is no more. Now the four officers discover what seems to be a panel of some kind. Commander Live examines the panel and pushes on what looks like a button. One of the walls slides open and some kind of gateway is visable. The Charlemagne XO cannot and wil not order anyone to go through this gate or whatever this is. But maybe this is the only way out for them. A rescue mission could take four weeks to find them. This planet is dead. The officers aggree only to go through if all of them aggree to do so. All of the four officers vote to go through this gateway... The Mok The Romulan warbird Mok is trembling and shaking. One of the Federation vessels has opened fire. The Mok's shields are weakening to 64 percent. LT Geert knows that if this goes on for some time, the Mok will be destroyed. The communication system doesn't work. The Lieutenant cannot warn or call the Federation vessels. The Mok shakes again. Another hit. The Aliens try to convince LT Geert to return fire. It seems the shields of the Romulan vessel are holding the aliens as prisoners. They cannot go out. But if LT Geert lowers the shields, the next shot from the Federation starships will be fatal. There is only one way to stop the Federation firing. LT Geert initiates the autodestruct sequence again and he knows that the Federation vessels will detect the autodestruct. They will retreat to a safe place. At that time he can get the shields off line and transport himself to one of those ships or get in a shuttle and get of the ship or whatever. The aliens threaten LT Geert that if he doesn't shut down the autodestruct all of them will be destroyed ! It is now clear that the life of the aliens is in LT Geert's hands. He decides to maintain the shields on line to keep the aliens captured on the Romulan ship. He has about 45 seconds now to get into a shuttle and escape. When LT Geert doesn't stop the selfdestruct sequence, the ship and probably the aliens wil be destroyed. Just before LT Geert escapes from the Mok with a shuttle, he disengages the autodestruct. He will ask advice when he arrives on one of the Federation ships. USS Ostend Seaside at Starbase 194 As the USS Ostend Seaside docs in spacedock, it seems that all security officers of the starbase have been sent to welcome the group of officers, who escaped from the USS Poland. The entire group is taken to holding cells, but they are seprated. LT Mechels is locked up in cell 14B. There is nothing he can do but wait. After a few hours and a small meal, the door of the cell slides open and a JAG officer, lieutenant commander Harmon Rabb steps in. Rabb explains to LT Mechels that he is going to represent him in all legal matters. But first he must know the truth. As LT Mechels explains what really happened on the USS Poland, the JAG officer seems to believe him. Rabb explains to LT Mechels that it is not what he believes, but what he can prove that is important. The first officer and the entire senior staff of the USS Poland have already told the investigating JAG officers, that it was LT Mechels who killed the captain.Harmon Rabb thinks that LT Mechels is in deep trouble unless he has hard evidence that LT Mechels is right and the others are not. If LT Mechels made a confession, he could come of with a light sentence of 10 to 15 years. Although he is innocent, LT Mechels makes a confession with self defense as cause. USS Baltimore The Blue Cordions seem to be connected to eachother and when they talk to LT Hendriks telepathicly, it is clear they all talk at the same time, saying exactly the same thing all together. The Blue Cordions explain that Mok has visited the Cordions homeplanet through the portal. The word portal is not explained, but when a distress call from the USS Charlemagne in orbit of Krandar III comes in, saying that they have found some kind of gateway, captain Tenor understands what this portal is all about. Captain Tenor decides that he can now safely transport the away team to the Baltimore. As soon as the away team, first officer included, are aboard blue lights come out from their bodies and join up the other Blue Cordions. As a token of faith, the captain let's his chief of security disengage the forcefields around the away team members. After a medical check, all members of the away team are in perfect health. The Blue Cordions just stay where they are and explain more to LT Hendriks and the Baltimore crew about Jok. They say they are fugitives and they will accept any decision the captain will make about their future. The captain realises that LT Hendriks has the most experience now with the aliens and asks LT Hendriks how it felt when the Blue Cordions where inside her. The Blue Cordions didn't seem to be aggressive in anyway. USS Vertigo Day 10, 17:01 The attack on the Mok begins. The Mok is not returning fire and is taking moderate damage to the forward shields. Day 10, 17:06 Commodore Slater begins to worry, because the Mok does not return fire. He thinks about breaking off the attack. This could be a secret plot ... Day 10, 17:09 Some precision shots from the USS Vertigo takes only the Mok's shields down. If this continues it is possible to board the Mok and take the intruding ship. Day 10, 17:12 The Mok has initiated the selfdestruct sequence. The USS Vertigo is moving to a safe place. USS Miramar General Fujimori agrees this is an opertunity to capture the alien waves and to investigate what the intruders have to do with all of this. It was wise that Commodore Slater only attacked to drain the shields of the Mok. This way the crew can be saved and transported from the intruding ship for interrogation. While the Vertigo continues the attack LT Crow on the Miramar notices that the Mok doesn't return fire. The attack is therefore not at full capacity. The power of the Mok's shields is weakening, but they are still on line. LT Crow cannot transport any one on the Mok yet. Suddenly the Vertigo breaks off the attack. Corporal Bell reports that the Mok has engaged the self destruct sequence. LT Crow knows he cannot stop the Mok's self destruct sequence and he orders corporal Bell to get the Miramar to a safe distance. The Vertigo is already retreating to a save distance. There is nothing both ships can do but wait. Then suddenly corporal Bell reports that a shuttle is powering up on the Mok. RPG Status Report June 1999 USS Charlemagne Lieutenant Commander Hanno Live looks at the image of the gateway. He then takes his tricorder and puts his hand with the tricorder through the gateway. The hand disapears. When the commander pulls back his hand, the tricorder is still there as nothing has happened. None of the four officers are afraid to cross over to the unknown. Commander Live goes first, followed by LT Danny Walter and the doctor. Ensign Steichen goes as the last one. It is a little cold and although the transport only takes a few seconds, it seems like minutes. Then totally unexpected they are thrown out of the gate at the other side. Landing safely seems to be important in this type of transportation. Hanno Live is already scanning the area. It is a beautiful planet with only plant life. Close by is a small lake between lots of trees which seem like oaks. Doctor Jenner checks everyone out. The doc smiles, stands up and walks up to the commander. Instinctively Steichen looks back to the gateway and recognises the image as the place which they have left earlier. That is a releave as they can return to the their own space. It is not clear yet where this planet is. It could be even in another galaxy. The night will tell more, but even the time of this planet is unsure. Then Commander Live calls everyone together, explains the survival drill and delegates duties. The Commander and doctor walk up to the lake, while LT Walter already is picking up wood fallen from the trees. Steichen discovers some trees with delicious fruit. While she is enjoying the fruit Steichen walks farther away from the gateway and the other officiers. Suddenly there is a noise behind her, but when she turns around, there is nothing there. The tricorder confirms it. There is nothing. As soon as Steichen turns her back, there is the noise again. Nothing there. Suddenly there are leaves at the trees moving. The tricorder doesn't show anything. she does not feel any wind... Before she reports to Commander Live, Steichen decides to Investigate further on her own to gain more information. The Mok The shuttle with LT Geert aboard escapes from the Mok, leaving the alien Cordions on the ship. The shuttle is contacted by Commodore Slater on the USS Vertigo. In short Geert explains to the commodore what has happened. Commodore Slater absorbes the new information and the USS Vertigo transports you aboard, where LT Geert meets ensign Matz and LT Jack London, who have encountered the Cordions before like he did. All pieces of the puzzle are now coming together. The Red and Yellow Cordions seem to be the aggressive ones. The Blue Cordions, discovered by the USS Baltimore crew, seem to be the peacefull ones. Choices have to be made. After consulting with Head Quarters, and Captain Lona Donton of the USS Giorko, Commodore Slater and the USS Vertigo will rendez-vous with the Giorko for Geert's next assignment. Geert is one of those officers now who encountered the Cordions and therefore he is a specialist. Some Captains are already fighting to get Geert aboard and his performance has been excellent. Therefore Head Quarters gives Geert the chance to make a choice of assignment. Geert accepts to take the job as first officer on the USS Giorko. Starbase 194 The door of LT Mechels' cell opens. It is time to go to court the first time. In the corridor stands Harmon Rabb. He is not sure whether this is the right moment to tell LT Mechels, but he has to tell the lieutenant the group of seven officers has been seperated. There will be seperate trials for each of them. That is very unusual, but there is nothing Rabb can do about it. But he has some possible information which could prove that LT Mechels is inocent. But Rabb can only hope that information gets on Starbase 194 on time. In the courtroom there is no one present except Mechels, Rabb, the prosecuting officer and the judge. Presiding judge is captain William Sommers. He is one of those hardliners, not wasting much time on futile items. This is going to be a very difficult job for Harmon Rabb. The sentence for LT Mechels can go up to 15 years. That's not something to go over lightly, and chances are small LT Mechels will get of the hook. At first Judge Sommers seems to listen, but after hearing the accusations, his attention seems to be completely lost. When Harmon Rabb wants to call a first witness, his researcher LT Jennifer Harrison interupts and deliveres a padd to Rabb, which makes the young lawyer smile.Harmon Rabb presents the padd to the judge, who is amazed to see the information. He checks his terminal and looks to the padd again. The judge looks up, sends Lieutenant Commander Rabb back to his seat and looks at LT Mechels. LT Mechels is hereby released from custody. He and the officers who were with him are free as they and LT Mechels are innocent. Without any further comment, the judge rises and steps out the courtroom. The prosecuting officer leaves as well and when Harmon Rabb picks up his stuff LT Mechels has the chance to take a fast view on the padd, before Rabb puts it in his case. Part of the text is clear enough to read: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To: General Fujimori Marine Corps Message From USS Hallifax CO Vice Admiral H.O. Cortman Stardate 51648.1 Code 6785 ALPHA Your suspicion was granted. Almost the entire crew of the USS Poland was infected by the Red Cordions. It seems now that the Red and Yellow Cordions are the bad guys in the conflict between the Red-Yellow and Blue Cordions. We had to destroy the Poland. Not all of the remaining officers of the Poland who could escape have been checked. They are clear. There is no -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At this time Harmon Rabb picks up the padd and puts it away with the rest of his stuff. When he leaves the court room he shakes LT Mechels' hand. Now it is time for LT Mechels himself to leave and report to the nearest command center to receive new orders, but at the door there stands Admiral Harry Giona and gives LT Mechels a choice of duty. USS Baltimore LT Hendriks has been the closest to the Blue Cordions and Captain Tenor has a lot of attention to what LT Hendriks has to say. She says to send the blue Cordions back to their prison planet, because they should not interfere with other races. Also it is very important to find out who is the good and who is the bad. It is extremely important to get more information about this human Jok. Captain Tenor and the senior staff have a conference and decide to take two Blue Cordions with them to Krandar III. They agree that if the Blue Cordions multiply, there will be trouble. The Blue Cordions accept the offer and agree with the terms. Two of them stay aboard the USS Baltimore and the rest leave the ship and settle down on Baldhom. Just as the Baltimore leaves the orbit of Baldhom A message comes in from the USS Charlemagne, saying that they used the new shields configuration, but there are to many Red Cordions. The USS Charlemagne will not hold out for long. There is an away team on Krandar III. Captain Tenor of the USS Baltimore orders to proceed to Krandar III at the highest possible speed. It is still some time before the Baltimore will arrive at Krandar III, but Captain Tenor already asks LT Hendriks to go to the surface with a Blue Cordion inside her. But he adds that this is entirely up to her. USS Vertigo Day 10, 17:15 A shuttle with one of ours has escaped from the Mok. On Board the shuttle is LT Geert Van Nieuwenhove. Day 10, 17.30 The shuttle has been retrieved in the main shuttle bay of the USS Vertigo. Day 10, 17.35 The Mok explodes and is completely destroyed. There are no traces of the Cordions. Day 10, 20.00 Commodore Slater in command of the USS Vertigo has had contact with Captain Lona Donton of the USS Giorko. The two ships will rendez-vous in 8 hours. The Giorko will pick up LT Geert. Geert wil continue to serve as XO on the USS Giorko. Day 10, 20.30 The USS Miramar continues on her way to gather more information about the Cordions. USS Miramar A shuttle has escaped from the Mok. LT Crow advices Commodore Slater on the USS Vertigo to ignore the shuttle and move away so they can follow the shuttle to see where it is going. On Board the shuttle is LT Geert Van Nieuwenhove. Commodore Slater of the USS Vertigo contacts the shuttle and finds that everything is going to be all right. The Mok explodes, shortly after the shuttle has been retrieved in the main shuttle bay of the USS Vertigo. There is no trace of the Cordion Waves or lights. LT Crow decides to leave the Vertigo to continue to Baldhom or to contact the USS Charlemagne. In the mean time LT Crow contacts General Fujimori. He still thinks the answer is at Baldhom. RPG Status Report July 1999 USS Charlemagne Away Team It seems that the moving leaves of the tree, are not caused by a natural fenomena. When Ensign Christine Steichen looks closer she has the impression that there is something moving in a certain direction, slowly at first but than faster. Her tricorder doesn't show anything, but she is sure there is something. She follows the movements of the leaves and the long grass. After a few minutes the movement stops and Ensign Steichen finds herself at the border of the forrest on top of a mountain. She is still hiding between some trees, when she sees a valley with at the deepest point a small river and to her amazement there is a small village at the river. She check her tricorder again, but the tricorder does not show any village nor people who are going on with their business. Ensign Steichen has no choice but reporting this to Commander Live and only a few minutes later Commander Live, LT Walter and Doctor Jenner are standing at her side in the same amazement. None of them can explain what is going on. There is a village, with a market, a big house, probably the town hall and humanoids... The small group of officers decides to observe the village as long as possible. USS Giorko LT Geert has been found in excellent health and he can have something to eat and have some rest. The USS Giorko is only eight hours away. LT Geert has told Commodore Slater everything he knows. The Mok has exploded and there was no trace of the alien Cordions. They must have been killed in the explosion. LT Geert has been assigned as first officer of the USS Giorko and that morning at exactly 07.00, Ensign Mark Cladon wakes him. The rendez-vous with the Giorko is planned within 30 minutes. LT Geert has some time to eat and get some things together and then transfers to his new ship. The USS Giorko Chief of Security LT Yell accompanies LT Geert to Captain Donton's ready room. You have a short visit to the bridge, and a moment later you are standing at the desk of Captain Lona Donton. She welcomes now Commander Geert aboard and explains his duties. The USS Giorko has been assigned to patrol this sector for at least six months. When CMDR Geert's duty starts, the first hours he talks to the bridge officers and get to know them a little bit more. And then suddenly it happens... Ensign Hallison reports that the sensors have detected a Cordion wave. When CMDR Geert asks what colour it is, he makes a great impression on the bridge crew. He showed them without hesitation that he knows his stuff. It gives the crew confidence. The Cordion wave is a red one. CMDR Geert orders red alert. USS Thunderbolt Only four hours after the trial has ended Captain Guillaume Mechels leaves the spacedock of Starbase 194 with a crew of 41 on the USS Thunderbolt. The mission is to patrol the entire sectors 121 and 122. It is very clear that the Thunderbolt is a battle ship. 250 torpedos, four pulse cannons and with the upgrade of the shuttlebay there are not only four shuttle pods aboard, but also a brand new shuttle named USS Lightning. At high speed the Thunderbolt arrives in sector 121 and starts the patrol. Captain Mechels has now been in command of his ship for 9 hours. At first it seems this is going to be a piece of cake, but that changes very rapidly when LT Leeloo Brussels reports that the USS George Washington is also in this sector. The USS George Washington seems to be at drift and life forms cannot be detected. Captain Mecels orders LT Malory to move in closer, but to keep out of the George Whasington's firing range, just to be at the safe side. Short range sensors give a better view of the USS George Washington, but there is nothing new. No damage and no life signs. Only LT Leeloo Brussels says that maybe this is another victim of the Cordions... But Captain Mechels decides to send an away team over to the USS Washington. USS Baltimore in Orbit of Krandar III Lt Hendriks has chosen to be the host of the Blue Cordions. When the USS Baltimore arrives at Krandar three there are three Red Cordion waves waiting for them as if they knew the Baltimore was coming. They attack and after only a a few minutes the Baltimore is in trouble. Captain Tenor has no choice. He lets LT Hendriks with the Blue Cordion inside her, handle tacticals. The Lieutenant takes tactical and starts a new configuration of the weapons. This configuration is totally new, even for first officer Harry Beltman, the tactical genious of the ship. The Baltimore opens fire on one Red Cordion waves and one by one the waves are vaporized. LT Hendriks explains to the Captain that there is a single configuration of the weapons needed to fight the Red Cordions. Captain Tenor doesn't hesitate and sends out a message to the entire fleet to let everyone know how to defeat the Red Cordions. A laser beam with a frequency of 2450. That is all. Now the crew of the Baltimore is ready to visit the planet Krandar III. LT Hendriks accompanies the away team of first officer Commander Harry Beltman and Chief of Sciences: Lieutenant Commander Joshua Denver. The Baltimore has not detected any life forms on Krandar III, but some structures should be investigated. As soon as the away team has landed, Commander Beltman contacts the ship. He reports in every 15 minutes. Affter a walk around in what seems to be a small city, the away team discoveres asome kind of gate. When they look through the gate they see that this is a dimensional gate. If they walk through they will arrive somewhere else in the universe. Commander Beltman contacts the ship and asks permission to go through the gate. He has used his tricorder to see what is on the other side. It seems human friendly. The Baltimore away team gets permission to go through, but they have to get back in an hour. LT Hendriks decides to stay the host of the Blue Cordion and takes him with her through the gate. USS Vertigo Day 12, 17.16 Messages from Head Quarters confirm that there are many more ships lost. Day 13, 21.19 Sensors of the Vertigo detect a ship, drifting. Day 14, 06.14 The drifting ship is identified as the USS Colorado. No life forms aboard. Day 14, 07.30 General meeting on the Vertigo. It is safe to send an away team aboard the USS Colorado. USS Miramar At high warp the USS Miramar proceeds to Baldhom but in sector 426 Corporal Bell reports that there is another Starship. LT Crow checks the flight plans of all ships in this sector and finds out that this ship should not be here. Corporal Bell Reports that the ship is the USS Digital. Just as the Miramar gets in short sensor range of the USS Digital, there is a subspace message coming in from General Fujimori, with a lot of complements for LT Crow's team. All of the team members receive a promotion as well. MAJ Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 76628A19: Although I wished to proceed to Baldhom, I cannot ignore this problem. I will take an away team of two: Myself and 2LT Bell and leave 1LT Hawk in charge. He has to contact the General to tell him what we have encountered. 2LT Bell and I are going to be transported to one of the decks with life support. We are going to take two life support packs with us so that when it is necessary we can go to the decks which have no life support. We are not going to be long because I want to proceed to Baldhom. If there is nobody on board, I will put a homing signal on board and send the coordinates to Head Quarters, so they can come and get it. I have a strange feeling but here we go. We will see what's on board. USS Silverado Cordions are aliens from unknown origin. They can have two forms: One single ball of light or a huge energy wave. Some of the ships in the fleet have been attacked and destroyed. New shields and weapons configurations have helped ships to protect themselves. But some have been attacked by more than one wave and are heavily damaged or destoryed. RPG Status Report August 1999 USS Charlemagne Away Team It seems that the villagers don't see the officers and just continue their lives. The village seems to be in a middelage stage and the most sophisticated tool is a large hammer, used by the smith in his forge. Suddenly all of the tricorders start beeping. There are humans coming. It is an away team from the USS Baltimore. Assigned to the USS Baltimore away team is LT Hendriks who is the host of a Blue Cordion. It is believed that the Red and Yellow Cordion waves and lights are hostile and the Blue Cordions have proven to be friendly. As soon as Lieutenant Commander Hanno Live has briefed the new arrivals on the situation and especially the village which doesn't seem to be there, the Blue Cordion leaves the body of LT Hendriks and flies to the village. When the Blue Cordion flies over the village, the village dissapears in a black cloud of smoke. After the smoke has blown away there are only Blue Cordion balls of light. The balls come together and forms a small wave. One of the lights comes out of the wave and flies to LT Hendriks. LT Hendriks explains that this is the home planet of the Blue Cordions. After the conflict with the Red and Yellow Cordions they stayed here and settled down in camouflage. These Blue Cordion, together with the Blue Cordions on Baldhom, are the only Blue Cordions who have survived the conflict. The planet Baldhom is a prison, where the superior Red Cordions have locked up the Blue Cordions. Now that a connection has been made the joy of the Blue Cordions is great. Before the officers can say anything the Blue Cordion ball of light returns to the wave, which flies away, through the gate into space in orbit of Krandar III. The officers run as fast as they can through the gate and as soon as they arrive at the other side, Commander Beltman of the USS Baltimore contacts his ship. Captain Tenor, in command of the USS Baltimore explains that it is all right. The few Blue Cordions aboard the Baltimore have left the ship and joined the Blue Cordion wave. As the away team is transported to the Baltimore the officers of the Charlemagne have to make a choice. The Baltimore will pass Starbase 17, accompagnied by the Blue Cordion wave. There is a Baltimore away team staying on Krandar III for an investigation of the gateway. This team of six will have a runabout at their disposal. As LT Hendriks returns to the Baltimore, Steichen is the only Cordion specialist in the away team. Captain Tenor promotes the young Ensign to Lieutenant Commander and gives her the command of the away team and the runabout. USS Giorko Captain Lona Donton enters the bridge just as the Red Cordion wave attacks the USS Giorko. The ship shakes. The new shield configuration helps a lot and when Commander Geert Van Nieuwenhove informs the captain of the situation, Captain Donton is really impressed by the actions of her new first officer. The ship is hit again by the wave and the shields are weakening. LT Yell explains that the phaser array has not yet been configured. The Red Cordion wave keeps attacking the USS Giorko, but just when the shields are getting dangerously low on power, the new phaser configuration is ready as well. The captain is not yet planning to use the weapon, and sends a message to the Red Cordions. "This is Captain Lona Donton of the Starship USS Giorko. We have a weapon which can destroy you in one fraction of a second. You will stop your attacks and explain your actions." Unexpected the Red Cordion wave stops the attack and even stops moving. The entire bridge crew is a bit surprised by the action of the captain, but there is some logic in his action. It is clear that they should find out as much as they can about these Red Cordions. 'Know your enemy' is a good motto. Then the captain turns to the bridge officers and says she is open for suggestions. Commander Van Nieuwenhove suggests to communicate and find out why they want to kill the blue one's, if neccessary lie about the blue one's asked protection to the Federation, keeping in mind that they are intruders in federation space... USS Thunderbolt First officer of the USS Thunderbolt, Lieutenant Commander Els Antwerps assembles an away team with Chief of Security LT Tomar, Chief Engineer LT Will Brussels and six security officers, just in case. The away team is sent over to the USS Washington, where they quickly go to the main bridge of the USS Washington where they find out that most of the systems of the drifting ship are off line. The USS Thunderbolt Chief Engineer is the first one on the drifting Washington to get several systems on line: shields, weapon systems and propulsion. The internal sensors indicate that there is no life form aboard, but no bodies as well. The USS Washington is totally deserted. The away team splits up and starts a search of the ship. On the USS Thunderbolt is Captain Mechels waiting to hear again from his first officer and just when he thinks he should have heard from them by then, Lieutenant Commander Antwerps contacts the Thunderbolt. "Captain. This is Commander Antwerps. Chief Engineer Will Brussels seemed to be threatened by a one of those Red Cordion lights. LT Tomar has fired on the light and the light was vaporised. Please advice what we have to do." "Commander, this is the Captain. Search the USS Washington: more Red Cordions could hide somewhere on the ship." USS Baltimore The Blue Cordion inside LT Hendriks gives her confidence that it is all right to go through the gate. without hesitation she steps through the gate, followed by Commander Beltman and lieutenant Commander Denver. The scientist of the Baltimore insisted on participating in this away team. At the other side of the gate The Baltimore away team detect humans not far from where they are. On their way to them, they find a camp site. There have to be humans here and as the search continues, it is Commander Harry Beltman who sees the humans first. They are fellow officers. As soon as Lieutenant Commander Hanno Live of the USS Charlemagne has briefed the new arrivals on the situation and especially the village which doesn't seem to be there, the Blue Cordion leaves the body of LT Hendriks and flies to the village. The officers run as fast as they can through the gate and as soon as they arrive at the other side, Commander Beltman contacts the Baltimore. Captain Tenor, in command of the USS Baltimore explains that it is all right. The few Blue Cordions aboard the Baltimore have left the ship and joined the Blue Cordion wave. As the away team is transported to the Baltimore it is clear to captain Tenor that this gateway should be investigated. He assigns a team and a runabout to Krandar III for a full investigation. LT Hendriks is ordered to stay on the Baltimore. LT Hendriks has the permission of Captain Tenor to stay in contact with the Blue Cordions. But it is up to her. USS Vertigo Day 14, 09.00 A USS Vertigo away team goes aboard the USS Colorado. Day 14, 10.34 The away team finds two young children on the USS Colorado, hiding in the ship's classroom. Day 14, 11.37 Doctor Dorm Lever has examined the children. They are in good health. The children are a boy of 6 and a girl of 7 years old. Day 14, 11.50 After a short conversation it is clear that the Red Cordions have invaded the USS Colorado and killed the crew. USS Miramar Major Crow and 2LT Bell materialize on the main bridge of the USS Digital. The marines find out very quickly that most of the systems of the Digital are off line, but after a few minutes work 2LT Bell gets the most important systems, like life support and propulsion on line. The internal sensors indicate that there is no life form aboard, but no bodies as well. This ship is totally deserted. While working on the bridge the two marines don't see the red ball of light behind them. It is a Red Cordion. Suddenly when Major Crow turns around to go to another console he sees the Red Cordion. he doesn't hesitate and fires. The Red Cordion is vaporized. The Major and 2LT Bell don't have a choice but search the ship for other of these Cordions. But that search can take a few days as the marines are only with two man. MAJ Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 79548F12: Although I want to search the ship, I don't have the time nor the personnel to search the entire ship. I will configurate a shield around the USS Digital so that nobody can leave or get in. Then I will send a message to General Fujimori with the coordinates and tell him what he can expect to find here. The 2LT and I beam aboard the USS Miramar and go on our way to Baldhom. It is still a few hours at high speedbefore we reach Baldhom, but those few houres are good for my team. They can rest a little bit and even enjoy the holodeck. We will see what happens. USS Silverado Ensign Walker wakes up. His head hurts and his right leg hurts. He is in main engineering of the USS Silverado. Walker discovers that the ship has been attacked. But he cannot remember anything about the attack or who attacked the ship. The main computer is still on line but damaged. Most of the files are destroyed. Internal sensors are working but deck 3 and deck 4 are not covered by the internal sensors. Being a Security Officer, Ensign Walker instinctively starts to search the ship for survivors. During his search he finds about ten survivors spread around on the ship. There are no bodies. That is of course a bit strange. Most of the surviving crew have only light injuries some are heavily wounded. One of the survivors is nurse LT Ginger Copola. Some other survivors help the nurse to get the badly wounded to the infirmary where on arrival Nurse Copola activates the Emergency Medical Hologram. At the same time the others go to the bridge. But when they arrive, the bridge is completely empty. LT CMDR Oscar Bondini is the senior officer. He is the Chief Engineer of the ship. He appoints Ensign Morok to the Helm and LT Grover to Operations. It seems that Ensign Walker is the senior security and tactical officer. Then LT CMDR Bondini coordinates and orders what has to be done. LT Grover has to take care of sensors and power, Ensign Morok has to take care of navigation and propulsion and Ensign Walker has to take care of the weapons systems and defensive systems and communications. LT CMDR Bondini will check on the main computer and than the rest of the ship. Ensign Walker's time is limited so he has to set priorities. He has to decide what is most important. From:Ensign Tom J. Walker To: Chief Engineer: LT CMDR Oscar Bondini Shields are up to 85%: Defence of the ship, against alien fire attack. Weapon systems on line, and standing by: An instinct act to standby on further orders. Internal sensors are online not possible to get them on line on decks three and four from bridge control. Must be done manually on decks 3 and 4, a good possibility of more crew member on decks three and four. Communications on line, and through to all decks: To contact other crewmembers, and various stations and decks throughout the ship. These are my choices to the importance towards the safety of ship and crew Put the ship in safety first which is the main priority and second main priority is the safety of the crew of the ship, putting defence systems on line, having internal sensors online is also a priority for searching survivors on decks three and four. End of report RPG Status Report September 1999 USS Sacramento Krandar III Gate Investigation Team The USS Sacramento is in orbit of Krandar III, waiting for the away team to return. When LT CMDR Steichen's team is preparing to investigate the gateway on Krandar III, the USS Baltimore is already on her way and the team is on it's own. Soon the engineers and scientist Lopez find out that the gate has it's own power source and the destination of the pathway through the gate can be manipulated. Hidden behind a pannel at the bottom of the gate there is a console. Although the symbols, the buttons and switches seem to be a little out of date, they still work perfectly. No investigation can be perfect without trying out everything which has to do with this gateway and there is no other way than try out the switches after a reasonable explanation of the symbols. LT CMDR Steichen has the honor to activate the gateway and a moment later another image appears in the gate opening. This must be another destination. As everything seems to be all right the entire team steps through the gate. Instinctively they all look back when they are across and see the image of Krandar III. The destination planet seems of a high level of sophistication, but the only colors are black and dark grey. The structures, the infrastructure and everything else looks dark and gloomy. "Commander, I think you should see this." It is LT Lopez with her tricorder checking the environment, who shows LT CMDR Steichen the first results of the scan. There is no doubt. This planet is inhabbited by Borg. This is one of the Borg home planets. About hundred meters away a few Borg drones appear, but they don't seem to be interested in the USS Sacramento away team. It seems that the Borg don't see the away team as a threat. USS Giorko It seems that the Red Cordions understand exactly what Captain Donton has in mind, but there is no answer. Just at the moment Captain Donton opens her mouth to give the next order, LT Ginu reports there are two more Red Cordion Waves coming their way. EtA of these waves is only sixteen minutes. As if this wasn't a threat, the Red Cordions at starboard bow resume their attack. The USS Giorko shakes and trembles. LT Yell reports that the first reports of casualties are coming in. The captain who was standing lost her balance, falls on the bridge floor and loses consciousness. Commander Geert orders to return fire and the Red Cordion wave is vaporised by the new weapon. Doctor Stevens enters the bridge and with the help of two nurses he gets the Captain to sickbay. Damage is minor, and there are only light casualties, but the Captain still has not regained consciousness. With the Captain in sickbay, Commander Geert Van Nieuwenhove is now in command. He orders an attack on the Red Cordions. USS Thunderbolt Lieutenant Commander Els Antwerps is in command of the away team with Chief of Security LT Tomar, Chief Engineer LT Will Brussels and six security officers. The away team has begun a search of the USS Washington for more Red Cordions or anything else that might be considered irregular. As the team splits up each of the senior officers is accompanied by two security officers. LT Will Brussels' team will go to engineering, LT Tomar and his team will search the cargo bays, and LT CMDR Antwerps will check sickbay with her team. LT Will Brussels has established a link between the main computers of the two ships and downloading has begun. Although there is a massive amount of files, there is no further information of what exactly happened to the USS Washington, then what was already known. there is nothing new, until LT Will Brussels enters engineering. On the floor there is a Borg drone. It seems to be inactive. There are no other Borg on the Washington and so LT Brussels contacts the USS Thunderbolt and reports the situation. Captain Mechels orders to beam the Borg over to the Thunderbolt sickbay for further examination. USS Baltimore The USS Baltimore has continued the earlier mission and proceeds again to Baldhom and let the Blue Cordions join each other. Although the USS Miramar is also on her way to Baldhom, it is most likely that an extra investigation will not reveal more information. On her way the USS Baltimore detects an alien vessel of unknown design. Several other ships already have reported similar discoveries, but there is no further information about where these ships come from or who was the crew. The Blue Cordions inform Captain Tenor through LT Hendriks that these alien vessels should no be in this part of the Galaxy. Captain Tenor just wants to investigate this ship further. There are no life signs whatsoever. LT Hendriks is curious and wants to join the away team which will be send to the alien ship. But curiousity killed the cat and the question is whether LT Hendriks can convince Captain Tenor to let her join the away team to the alien vessel, hosting a Blue Cordion. USS Vertigo Day 15, 08.10 The two recovered children from the USS Colorado, Sandra and Max are lost somewhere on the USS Vertigo. The ship's school teacher is looking for them. Day 15, 08.20 Sandra and Max enter the USS Vetigo bridge. Commodore Slater orders them to go to the ship's school. Day 15, 08.21 Commodore Slater suspects but cannot prove that Sandra and Max might be under the influence of the Red Cordions and orders Ensign Nadine Matz to keep an eye on them. Ensign Matz has encountered the Red Cordions in person before, so it is possible she will recognise signs of the Red Cordions, when she observes the children Sandra and Max. Day 15, 08.30 Sandra and Max are entering the holodeck. USS Miramar The rest and ease aboard the USS Miramar is indeed very welcome. Running a starship with only four people is exhausting. While both LT bell are relaxing in holodeck 1, LT Hawk and Major Crow are at the helm. General Fujimori explains that the Blue Cordions are trapped on Baldhom by the Red and Yellow Cordions. The team of Major Crow cannot transport to the planet's surface. They will die if they do, or at least the chances of survival or not very big. The Blue Cordions are not hostile, but the risk is to great. When the USS Miramar enters orbit of Baldhom, the ship receives a message from the USS Baltimore telling that they are on their way to Baldhom and that they are accompanied by a Blue Cordion wave. Just when Major Crow's team they can relax a bit longer, another alien ship of unknown design and with unknown markings appears out of nowhere and without any warning it opens fire on the USS Miramar. Before Major Crow can act the Miramar shields are already down to 79%. LT Bell reports that if this firing continues the shields will collapse in about three minutes. Lt Hawk reports he has send a message to head quarters to report about their situation. MAJ Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 24978G48: First I am taking evasive action and try to get the upperhand again. Because I don't know who these aliens are, I would try to make contact with them. If there is no respons, I will demonstrate our firepower and let 1LT Hawk shoot on the back of the alien ship. Because we don't know anything about them, we have to be careful what we do. This can happen in a few minutes time. I know the USS Baltimore is on its way. Maybe I can hod out long enough, until the Baltimore gets here and we are two to one. But for now I will try to get my ship save. I am still hoping these aliens will answer to our hails. We will see. USS Silverado LT CMDR Bondini is very pleased with the work and the accomplishments of this small crew. Nurse Copola had her hands full with the patients, who are all recovering now and will get better in the next week. There are no more casualties found on the ship. Now that all the systems of the Silverado are on line including most of the backup systems, this class of ship proves again to be a tough ship indeed. As communications are back on line as well, messages are starting to come in. Most of the messages do not concern any one on the USS Silverado, but some of them are very interesting. One message is from a marine unit on the USS Miramar, explaining how to configure the shields to get better protection from Red Cordion energy waves. Another message is sent by the USS Baltimore to configure the weapons to vaporise Red Cordion energy waves with one shot. This is crucial information as the logs show that the Silverado has been attacked by Red Cordions. Ensign Walker reconfigures the defensive and offensive systems and the ship is now ready to return to Starbase 45. LT CMDR Bondini has ordered the new course as it seemed the logical thing to do. With this small crew it is better to return to spacedock. On her way the Silverado has an encounter with a drifting ship. It is an alien ship from unknown origin and with a complete unknown configuration. There is no life form aboard and LT CMDR Bondini hesitates to investigate this ship with unknown markings. Therefore he asks the advice of every officer aboard. As senior security officer, Ensign Tom Walker has a lot of influence on Bondini's decision. "We don't have a full team for an away mission sir, I would not recomrnend it in our present conidition. We should alert Starfleet of our status, and inform them that we are in no condition to handle a situation like this. What we can do, is place the alien ship under quarantine, and ask Head Quarters for another ship to investigate with a full science team. And we can inform them of our findings." Chief Engineer LT CMDR Bondini can only agree. An away team mission can be to dangerous. The USS Silverado leaves a message buoy and contacts Head Quarters, before the vessel continues on route to Starbase 45. RPG Status Report October 1999 Message to all ships, stations and facilities Begin Message From: Vice Admiral Vladimir Marstoski To: All Starship Commanding Officers Priority code: 471A14D5 Unknown alien ships have been detected by several vessels. The configuration and origin of these ships is unknown. When you discover such a ship, your orders are to find out as much as you can and as fast as possible. End Message USS Sacramento Krandar III Gate Investigation Team While the USS Sacramento team is watching the Borg, there is nothing unusual. LT Lopez has figured out that this planet is located in the Delta Quadrant, but she could be wrong all the same. There is not much to go on. Observing the Borg, it becomes clear that these Borg are planning to move. At least a large part of the Borg drones are moving all kind of stuff to a central place. The question is, why are they doing that ? With all that assimilated technology, it is strange that they need drones to move what looks like equipment. Chief King is the first to understand what is happening. He makes a good point with the remmark that it seems that the Borg are planning a trip through the gate which Starfleet officers have discovered. Instinctively Commander Steichen looks over her shoulder. The picture she sees is not the one of Krandar III the planet the officers came from. The USS Baltimore crew made some recordings of the gate when they used it. LT Lopez is able to discover how to activate the gate and return to Krandar III, but it is to late. The first Borg drones have picked some of the equipment and are stepping through the gate. As soon as these Borg arive, they fall down and die. But more Borg are stepping through the gate, they leran and addapt, and they live and start working to build some thing. None of the Starfleet Officers have any idea what the Borg are building. It is clear it is to dangerous to follow the Borg through the gate, but the officers will observe the Borg from their position. USS Giorko After the authorisation, LT Yell pushes the firing button. The beam hits the Red Cordions who are vaporized immediately. The USS Giorko is free. The threat is gone. There is a relieve on the ship. Every one is glad that the Red Cordion terror as it is now called is over. Every one feels secure now as any starship can handle the attacks of the Red Cordions. While the repair teams start working to make the USS Giorko look bright and shining again, life continues on the ship. The only sad thing is that Captain Donton has to ramain in sickbay for a few more days. She has left the ship in the capable hands of her excellent first officer, Commander Geert Van Nieuwenhove. Just as the Commander takes over the bridge from LT Ginu, an important message from Vice Admiral Vladimir Marstoski is coming in. The Giorko starts long range sensor sweaps and after only four hours one of those alien vessels is detected. With maximum speed the Giorko intercepts the vessel, but to late. The Red Cordions seem to have arrived before the starship. The Red Cordions are attacking the alien vessel when the Giorko arrives at the set coordinates. The alien vessel's hull is almost breaking apart so time is most important and a decision has to be made fast. CMDR Geert Van Nieuwenhove doesn't hesitate one moment and gives his orders. "Scan for lifesigns on the alien ship, attack the red cordians so they are distracted and transport the aliens to sickbay, and call security to sickbay !" USS Thunderbolt When Captain Mechels and his first officer LT CMDR Els Antwerps enter the small sickbay of the USS Thunderbolt, doctor Ceuster reports that he can only do a basic examination of the Borg drone. He needs more equipment and the necessary micro cellulair scanning devices to come to a better understanding of the drone on atomic level. Currently the Borg drone is held behind a forcefield. It is not certain though whether this forcefield will stop the drone if he would be activated. While the senior officers talk about the situation, a message is coming in from Starfleet Command: Vice Admiral Vladimir Marstoski. It is clear that Captain Mechels has to make a decision. The nearest Starbase is almost twelve days away. If he orders to activate the Borg drone to find out more about the strange situation, it is possible the crew cannot defend itself and the Borg will assimilate the ship or even worse. The decision has been made. The drone will be activated. USS Baltimore A small away team of the USS Baltimore materialises on the alien ship. The team is under command of scientist LT CMDR Joshua Denver. Although Denver didn't agree to take LT Hendriks along with the away team, Captain Tenor ordered LT Hendriks to be assigned to the away team. Hendriks is the only one aboard the Baltimore who is appreciated by the Blue Cordions and she is the only one who is trusted by the Blue Cordions. After a short search it is clear that the alien ship is deserted, although the escape craft haven't been used. The Blue Cordion inside LT Hendriks explains that these aliens are coming from the other side of the Galaxy. Apparently they were attacked or a desease killed them. The Blue Cordion cannot explain the presence of the alien ship. Captain Tenor orders a full investigation of the alien ship after receiving the message from Vice Admiral Vladimir Marstoski. In what looks like engineering of the alien ship LT CMDR Joshua Denver discoveres a body of a Borg drone. As Captain Tenor wants to know as much as he can about these aliens he orders to bring over the Borg body to the Baltimore. USS Vertigo Day 15, 08.35 Ensign Nadine Matz. enters the holodeck, but cannot shut down the program which is currently running. Sandra and Max have started a jungle program. Day 15, 08.45 The search for Sandra and Max begins. Two security officers accompany Ensign Matz. All holodeck safety protocols have been deactivated. Day 15, 11.30 Security officer Mondron has been poisened during the search for Sandra and Max. Mondron is saved and has to spend the next few days in sickbay. The only way to dissengage the holodeck program is to shut down the ship's main engines. USS Miramar The Alien vessel comes around and when MAJ Crow tries to contact the alien vessel, there is no reply. Shields of the Miramar are down to 51 %. But the alien vessel is not giving up and turns again for another attack. The aliens do not reply on any of the attempts of MAJ Crow to contact them. At this moment an important message from Vice Admiral Vladimir Marstoski comes in. MAJ Crow does not have much choice. He cannot let the Miramar be damaged and his team mates injured or even worse. He lets 1LT Hawk fire a phaser burst. The alien vessel is hit, damaged and comes to a full stop. MAJ Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 44721J40: Now the vessel has has come to a full stop, I think the aliens will now be a little more cooperative to respond to our hails. But you can never be certain so I tell 1LT Hawk to keep an eye out and if necessary fire again. So we begin again where we left of. I'm curious whether the aliens will reply to our hails. USS Silverado After the discovery by the USS Silverado of the alien vessel, more and more ships discover the same kind of alien vessels. No one seems to know where these ships came from, but there are already twelve of them in Federations space. Some Captains are not willing to take the risk of boarding the alien ships, some other Captains do. The USS Silverado crew can take it a little easier. Starbase 45 is only a few lightyears away and the last part of the trip the crew can relax. With only a few officers left this crew can be proud as the Silverado has almost completely been repared. When the big moment comes the doors of Starbase 45 Spacedock open and the 170 meters long USS Silverado slide in like it is daily routine. As soon as the docking clamps have secured the ship, the crew is ordered to report to conference room 51 on the huge starbase. Lead by LT CMDR Oscar Bondini, the crew of the Silverado disembark. Only a few minutes later they all arive in conference room 51. The few wounded crewmates are transported to to Starbase 45 sickbay, where they will be treated. In the large conference room is a Vulcan female waiting. She is a Starfleet Captain. As the crew of the Silverado sits down, the Captain introduces herself as Captain Kotak. "Please sit down. I am Captain Kotak, coordinator of personnel on Starbase 45. An engineering team is currently repairing and upgrading the Silverado, and the ship will be ready to go on her next mission in seven days, with a new crew. As you all have done a good job of returning the ship, you can take this time to relax. For those of you, who want there are some free positions on the USS Colt. Your applications for that ship will be handled with priority as the USS Colt has to deaprt from Starbase 45 in 48 hours." RPG Status Report November 1999 USS Sacramento Krandar III Gate Investigation Team The small group of Starfleet officers is observing the Borg, who seem to be to busy with the execution of their plans to take any notice of the officers at all. There are more than hundred Borg drones gone through the gateway. The object they are building seems to be a small ship. The progress and efficiency can only be described as collective work. In a matter of hours a few hundred Borg drones build a sphere, a scout ship. When the sphere is almost operational, part of the drones start building a second sphere. It is obvious the Starfleet officers have to act fast. They cannot go through the gateway as at the other side the destination looks dangerous. A number of Borg drones have been sacrificed to achieve the Borg goal. But there are some other options. Lieutenant Commander Christine Steichen feel it as her obligation to to warn the inhabittants of the planet on which the Borg are building their ships. USS Giorko With the new weapons against the Red Cordions, the battle is over in a few minutes. The Giorko offers their help, which is much appreciated by the aliens, who call themselves Baltons. A full report is send to Starfleet Head Quarters. The Baltons have been under attack by the Borg and the only way to escape from total assimilation was to use a new propulsion system which was not tested and did not even have a name. The system didn't work very well. Most of the Baltons' ship crew did not survive. And some of them were killed by the Red Cordions. It is dangerous, but possible to use the new propulsion system again on the USS Giorko. This way the Baltons can return to their region of space. The Borg should have left Baltons space by now and it should be safe to return. It has been a successfull day for CMDR Geert Van Nieuwenhove and when Captain Donton is dismissed from sickbay and returns to duty, she is very pleased with her new first officer, who has won the trust of the entire crew. That is why she invites him into her ready room to ask him for his advice about what to do with the Baltons. Although the Captain has the final decision, she could not agree more with the opinion of her first officer to help the Baltons to get back to their own region of space. USS Thunderbolt There is a Borg drone aboard the USS Thunderbolt. Chief Engineer LT Will Brussels and Chief Medical Officer Doctor Ceuster have received Captain Mechels' order to activate the drone. As a safety precaution does Security Chief Tomar keep the drone into a forcefield and keeps a transport lock on the drone to transport him out at the first sign of trouble. Then the moment has arived. Doctor Ceuster activates the drone, which immediately comes alive, looking around and getting of the biobed. Slowly the drone walks up to the forcefield. The doctor is already safe behind it and has the chance to observe and study. But the Borg drone walks through the forcefield as if it wasn't there, but he doesn't seem hostile. "You are Human. You are not Bantols. This is incorrect." Doctor Ceuster remarks to the USS Thunderbolt Chief Engineer that this drone must mean the aliens. At least now the aliens have a name. But the drone continues to speak. "We are Borg. You will be assimilated. Our technology..." Doctor Ceuster tries to grab the drone to deactivate him, but he is thrown against one of the beds, where he falls down on the floor. The Thundervolt Chief of Security grabs his weapon and fires. No effect. LT Tomar doesn't hesitate. He gives the order to transport the drone into open space. A moment later the drone is gone. In the vacuum of space the drone's body explodes. Just when every one thinks the situation is under control, First Officer LT CMDR Els Antwerps reports that there are sixteen Borg drones on the Bantols' ship, who are activated as well. Apparently the Borg drone who was aboard the USS Thunderbolt has activated them the moment he was activated by Doctor Ceuster. Things don't look good for Captain Mechels and Head Quarters will not be pleased with this situation. Still considering all the danger, Captain Mechels decides to send an away team to the Bantol's ship for further investigation. USS Baltimore Captain Tenor is absolutely against activating a Borg on his ship. There has to be another way to find out what the Borg were doing on the ship of the Baltons. At this time the Blue Cordions have a sollution. Accessing the Borg implants is possible and the neural processor could easily be accessed. After the first data of the Borg comes in it becomes clear that the Baltons used a new experimental propulsion system to save their race from destruction and assimilation of the Borg. The system didn't work as it should and not all crews of all ships survived the journey to the Alpha Quadrant. Suddenly the Blue Cordions call for an alert. It seems Baldhom is under attack. USS Vertigo Day 15, 11.45 Commodore Slater is very much annoyed with the situation on the holodeck and demands a sollution in 15 minutes. Day 15, 11.58 The holodeck is off line. The program has stopped. The children Sandra and Max are gone. They are not on the holodeck. Day 15, 12.04 Systems on the Vertigo suddenly shut down without reason. USS Miramar "We are Bantols. You will be destroyed." Well that is clear enough. The aliens are called Bantols and they are determined to destroy the Miramar and the small Marine unit aboard with it. Just as Major Crow has to make the decision to fight the Baltons or not, 2LT Bell reports something is happening on the surface of Baldhom. Lieutenant Bell cannot explain, but suddenly the Borg appeared out of nowhere on the planet. And that's not all. The Borg seem to be building some kind of structures, possibly ships. One of the ships is almost fully operational. With this new information the situation changes. Major Crow opens communications again with the Bantols and explains to them about the Borg on Baldhom and that the Borg are the worst enemy any one in this Galaxy can have. The Bantols reply that they are in war with the Borg. They also thought the Federation vessels were on the side of the Borg. Now the Bantols understand this is not the case and they will stop all fights against the Federation. At this time 2LT Bell reports that it is still possible to destroy the Borg now. Major Crow has understood that he has to decide what to do about the Borg on Baldhom. Every second counts. MAJ Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 64197K17: After the attack on the Borg, it's time to do some exploring about the Bantols. They are an interesting species and I hope that we can learn much from them. So I will send a message to the General and explain the situation. I hoppe that the Bantols are in a good state of mind. We will see what they have to tell us. USS Silverado A few days after the Silverado has docked at Starbase 45, the ship is already in perfect order thanks to the already excellent repair work from the few remaining crewmembers. When the Silverado is ready to leave Starbase 45, there is a new crew ready to serve on this fine ship, which proved itself in the past. A new Captain, Linda Cordain will be in command. This is her first command, but she will be assisted by a great First Officer, LT CMDR Jeffrey Harrison. When ENS Walker takes his tactical station, he already knows some other oficers aboard. All of the former reamaining Silverado officers have decided to stay aboard. For some of them this next mission is a turn over. Some kind of second chance, to start all over. Only a few hours after the Silverado has left spacedock the new crew of the Silverado is already tested. A distress call from Starbase 45 draws the attention of all ships in the region. This includes the Silverado. Captain Cordain orders to return to Starbase 45 immediately, with maximum speed. Sensors detect multiple alien ships attacking Starbase 45. It is soon clear the Starbase cannot hold much longer. And only five minutes before the Silverado can assist, Starbase 45 is destroyed. The alien vessels now turn towards the Silverado and without any warning they attack. From other communication and messages from other Starfleet vessels, it is clear these aliens are called the Bantols. Shields are going down rapidly and the evasive actions are not providing the Silverado enough room to escape. There is a possibility to break through the chain of Baltons ships, but a radical attack is necessary. First Officer Harrison orders to keep the weapons ready. "Captain, weapons are ready. We have to fire now and break the attack and escape." Harrison gives good advice, but it seems that Captain Cordain dissagrees. Ensign Tom Walker has his fingertips on the firing buttons but the Captain hesitates and orders all crew to stand by. But at this time there is no time to stand by. The Silverado will surely be destroyed in a next attack or boarded and the crew will be killed or captured. But Tactical Chief Tom Walker stays calm: "Captain, sir, we should fire now, before it's to late. We have the opening between the Balton ships. If we distract them we have a better chance for a break through. And sir, we better do it now, before they break formation." RPG Status Report December 1999 USS Sacramento Krandar III Gate Investigation Team It won't be easy to get a message accross to the other side of the gate, but LT Lopez has a scientific method. She will use her tricorder to send a signal with the necessary data through the gate to the other side. The idea is good but there is one little problem. Some one has to get as close as 5 meters from the gate to make this work. The Starfleet team has to move fast. the Borg ships on the other side of the gate seem to be completed very soon. Chief Larry King grabbes the tricorder and starts running towards the gate. He passes the Borg drones who are still going through the gate to enforce the group which has already been building the ships. But these Borg don't seem to be as stupid as expected. Two Borg drones intercept the Chief and make him fall on the ground. But just before he is captured Chief King throws the tricorder towards the gate where the tool falls down just a few meters from the gate where it sends it's signal to the other side of the gate. Chief King's action happened so fast that the other officers could not intervene. There is no time for a memorial service for the brave Chief. Now it is certain the Borg are becoming aware of the human officers and start closing in on them. After only ten seconds the group is almost completely surrounded. There is only a small chance to pass the approaching Borg, but LT CMDR Steichen has to make a fast decision. Just before she shouts her orders, the Borg stop their approach. At the other side of the gate the Borg seem to be under attack. LT CMDR Steichen immediately recognizes the phaser fire of a fellow starship. Apparently this starship is attacking the Borg from orbit. The Borg seem to be confused and start running through the gate in both directions. LT CMDR Steichen gives the order to escape from the Borg through the gate to the current destination of the gate. USS Giorko An engineering team of the USS Giorko transfers to the Balton ship and start studying the new propulsion systems the Baltons have used to escape from the Borg. It is soon clear that this propulsion system can also be used on the Giorko and other Starships. The only problem is that this new propulsion systems have to replace the main engine core. And as long as these new systems are not tested, Captain Donton is not prepared to use them. More investigation is needed. Things are going great and the relations with the Baltons are excellent. Soon the Baltons engines will be repaired and adjusted. But like allways, just as everything looks fine, something happens to ruin it all. Chief of Operations of the USS Giorko LT Latisum Ginu is the first to ruin the day. "Captain. Sensors detect a transwarp signature. Possible Borg." And only 30 seconds later a Borg cube appears, coming out of the transwarp conduit. The Giorko immediately sends a message to Starfleet Head Quarters to report the Borg presence. But before Captain Donton can take action, the Giorko is hailed by the Borg. "We are Borg. Our technology is superior. You will lower your shields. You will be assimilated to serve us. Resistance is futile." It will take a few minutes for the Baltons to bring their new propulsion systems on line. The Borg will be attacking before the Baltons can use these systems. Commander Geert Van Nieuwenhove suggests that they should defend Federation space against the invasion of the Borg and cover for the Baltons, so they can go home. USS Thunderbolt Again it is first officer LT CMDR Els Antwerps who leads the away team, which only contains security officers this time, eight in total. This away team does not seem to be a team for exploration, but of battle. Armed with compression rifles, ready to fire on anything that is black and moving. It soon becomes clear that the Borg already have assimilated parts of the Balton's ship, engineering, and some of the weapon systems. The USS Thunderbolt away team has to move fast, before the Balton ship is completely assimilated by the Borg. The engineering section of the Balton ship is the primary goal of the away team. Messages from other ships in the fleet confirm that the Baltons have a new kind of propulsion system which make traveling fatser than transwarp possible. These systems may not fall into the wrong hands and certainly not the hands of the Borg. Getting near to the engineering section, some Borg drones appear to stop the away team. It is clear they are planning to assimilate the away team to enforce their numbers. After killing a few of the Borg drones, the Borg have addapted and weaapons firing can't stop them any longer. Captain Mechels has no other choice than to call back the away team. But when the away team is back safe and sound, Captain Mechels contacts the Baltons. USS Baltimore It soon becomes clear that the attack on Baldhom is not meant to hurt the trapped Blue Cordions, but the Borg who apparently came through some kind of gateway. It is the same gateway found on Krandar III. There should be more of these gateways in the Galaxy and the USS Baltimore is one of the ships which who will search an entire sector for more gates, but first te Baltimore has unfinnished business on Baldhom. USS Vertigo Day 15, 12.06 Auxilliary systems kick in on the USS Vertigo. Commodore Slater has experience with these kind of disasters and gives his orders. Day 15, 12.11 Main power is on line. All systems are being restarted. Day 15, 16.19 The USS vertigo is fully operational. The children Sandra and Max are found on the holodeck, which is running a strange program. USS Miramar Without hesitation does Major Crow order to attack the Borg on Baldhom. The Borg defenses are not yet operational and the marine unit have to act now before it is to late. the Miramar sends a message to the Balton ship and without waiting the starship's weapons systems fire their load of destruction. The Baltons now are convinced that the Federation is not their enemy and join the Miramar in the fight against their worst enemy, the Borg. Both ships now side by side continue their attack on the unfinnished Borg structures. the Borg do not seem to have a chance and they retreat through some kind of interdimensional gateway. Major Crow has read messages about this gateway. He knows there is a similar gateway on Krandar III. A Federation team under command of LT CMDR Steichen is investigating that gateway. The reports are not yet complete and more investigation is necessary. But there is one little problem. The surface of Baldhom will kill humans. Only a few have been able to survive. It is known that Blue Cordions have been trapped as micro life forms on Baldhom, but it is unknown how to free the trapped Blue Cordions. The Borg are beaten and Major Crow orders to contact the Baltons and thank them for taking the side of the Miramar. It seems that the Federation and the Baltons have a common enemy: the Borg. Now it is time to agree with the Baltons what to do next. MAJ Crow, Personal Log, Date coded 97811S42: 2LT Bell is so brilliant, that he adjusted our life-support packs, so that we can survive on the planet's surface. I and 2LT Bell are going down to see what we will find there. Also we will send a message to find out whether the Bantols will go to the surface too. We must tell the general so that when we find something interesting we will know what to do with it. USS Silverado Captain Linda Cordain of the USS Silverado still hesitates. It seems she is paralysed and is absolutely in no condition to command the ship. the next attack is almost fatal to the Silverado. Only because of the fantastic skills of helmsman Tony Bandero, the ship takes only moderate damage. But the Captain doesn't have that luck. She is on the floor and has to be brought to the infirmary. At this time XO LT CMDR Jeffrey Harrison takes command and orders Ensign Walker to return fire. But it is to late. All weapon systems are off line and shields are gone. Suddenly the attack stops. The bantols ships have come to a full stop. But the Silverado is no longer in a fighting condition. Heavy damage to the ship makes it a sitting duck. The only reliable systems are propulsion. And then the Silverado is contacted by the Bantols. "I am commander Tokla of the Bantol battleship Gik. I must to apologize for our attack on your station and your vessel. We were in total confusion and were convinced that you were an enemy. We see that we were wrong. I have a complete engineering team ready to help you to repair your ship. May we please come aboard?" First Officer Harrison is now in command, but he is open to any suggestion. He asks Ensign Walker as Chief of Security for advice.
